Skye woke up the next morning and dragged herself out of bed to the bathroom. When she was done in the bathroom she went to the kitchen, where breakfast was about to be put on the table.
"Skye, how are you feeling this morning?" Bruce asked.
"Better," Skye said.
"Pain?" Bruce asked.
"Three," Skye said.
"Good," Bruce said
"My suit isn't okay," she said, looking at Tony.
"That can be replaced," Tony said.
Skye nodded.
"If you want, you can help me," Tony said.
"I wouldn't know how," Skye said.
"I can teach you," Tony said.
Skye nodded a little.
"Only if you want, Skye," Tony said.
"I'll think about it," Skye said.
"Okay," Tony said.
"Everyone sit and eat before it gets cold," Pepper said.
Everyone took their spots and started to eat.
Morgan kept looking at Skye, and Skye noticed.
"What's up, Tiny?" Skye asked.
"Nothing," Morgan said softly.
"You sure, Squirt?" Tony asked.
Morgan nodded.
Skye looked at Tony, who shrugged. After breakfast, Skye went to help clean up, but Dr. Banner stopped her.
"Can I take a look at the stitches?" Dr. Banner asked, leading her to her room.
Skye sighed and lifted the back of her shirt to show him.
"Looks good," Bruce said.
There was the sound of a door slamming, which caused Skye to jump.
Bruce looked confused too, and the two left her room to see Tony walking down the hall shaking his head.
"Everything good, Stark?" Bruce asked.
"Just want to know when my seven-year-old started with the teenager attitude," Tony said. "Anyway, team debrief is starting in half an hour."
Skye and Bruce nodded before Tony went to find Pepper.
Half an hour later everyone was sitting down in the conference room.
Skye looked nervous.
"Skye, you okay?" Nat asked.
"Yeah," Skye said
The debrief started once everyone was seated. Skye was told to explain what had happened. Wanda was surprised when her variant was mentioned, and Skye noticed.
"She is the one who hurt you, isn't she?" Wanda asked, interrupting what she saying.
"Let her finish," Steve said.
"The variant, yeah," Skye answered before she continued the explanation of events.
When Skye was finished Thor, Tony, Loki, Dr. Strange, and America shared their points of view of what happened.
"And you got the variants back to their universe?" Tony asked America.
"Yes, to their medical team," America said. "And then got out of there quickly."
"Good," Tony said
"Anyone have any questions or comments?" Steve asked.
Nat looked at Skye. "You did good, Skye,"
"Thanks," Skye said.
"Very good," Tony said.
Skye smiled and shrugged. "I just did what I was trained to do."
"Anything else?" Steve asked before he ended the meeting.
Everyone started to get up, and Loki looked at Skye. "Can you stay back?"
Skye nodded and sat back down, waiting for everyone but Loki to leave.
Loki took a breath.
"What do you want?" Skye asked.
"I'm sorry," Loki grumbled.
"Wow, that sounds sincere," Skye said sarcastically. "And not at all forced by your brother, who is standing outside that door," Skye said pointing at the ajar door.
Loki let out a bit of a chuckle. "How did you know he was there?"
"I have enhanced hearing, and he does not move quietly," Skye said.
"Thor, go away," Loki said before closing the door fully and sitting back down across from Skye. "Okay. I'm sorry," he said sincerely.
Skye nodded.
"I should not have put my issues with your variant on you. You are not the same person," Loki said.
Skye nodded. "No, I'm not. Can I ask you a question?"
Loki nodded.
"You know I can feel people's emotions, right?" Skye asked.
"Yeah," Loki said.
"I could feel your fear yesterday. I was able to tap into it. I've never been able to tap into other people's emotions and use them to fuel my abilities. That means it had to have been an immense amount of fear," Skye said.
"The situation we were in was eerily similar to how I lost my brother," Loki said.
"Oh, that explains it," Skye said.
"The difference being that you jumped in front of my knife - the same knife that did kill my brother," Loki said.
"I told you I'd die for Thor. That wasn't a lie," Skye said.
"I know that now," Loki said.
"Well, it's not cool that it took me having to show it before you believed me. Because I am not my variant, and to put all that on me isn't cool. So I hear your apology, but I'm not ready to forgive you," Skye said.
Loki nodded. "Fair enough."
"We done?" Skye asked.
Loki nodded.
Skye got up and cringed slightly.
"You okay?" Loki asked.
"I got stabbed by a knife that ripped through my knife-resistant suit. What do you think?" Skye asked as she left the room.
Loki left the room and went and found Thor. "I think Skye is more injured than she is letting on."
Thor went to her room and knocked.
"Yeah?" Skye said.
Thor went in. "Are you more hurt than you are letting on?"
"Fucking Loki," Skye mumbled.
"Hey, watch the language. And answer my question," Thor said.
"I'm fine," Skye said.
"Do not make me get angry with you," Thor said.
"I said I'm fine," Skye snapped.
"Do not take that tone with me," Thor said loudly.
Steve heard Thor in Skye's room. "What's going on."
"Loki thinks she is more hurt than she is letting on. Based on the way she is reacting when asked, I think he is right," Thor said.
"Skyler," Steve said.
"I'm fine," Skye said. trying to keep herself from snapping.
"We are going to see Dr. Banner. Now," Steve said.
"No," Skye said.
"Excuse me," Steve said.
"I said no," Skye said, noticing Morgan standing at the door. "Hey, Tiny, what's up?"
"I don't want you to die," Morgan said in tears.
"Morgan, I'm fine," Skye said. "Nothing a little rest won't fix."
Morgan shook her head. "You're lying."
Skye went over and knelt by her and hugged her. "I promise I'm okay."
Thor went and got Tony, who came. "Hey, Squirt, what's going on?"
"Skye is hurt," Morgan said.
"Yeah, a little. But she is strong and is going to be fine," Tony said.
"They are fighting because she is more hurt than she is saying," Morgan said.
"We just want Bruce to take a look at her to see how she is healing," Thor said.
"And she is going to do that right now. Right?" Steve asked his daughter.
"Of course," Skye said, conceding going with her dad down to Bruce's lab.
"Hey, Skye, Steve, what's up?" Bruce asked.
"Can you take a look at Skye's injury again?" Steve asked,
"Of course, is there something of concern?" Bruce asked.
"He and Thor were yelling at me to get checked when I don't need to. Morgan overheard and is scared. I conceded to getting checked so Morgan can be told by someone other than me that I'm fine," Skye said snippily.
"Check the attitude, Skye," Steve said.
Skye laid on the table on her side and lifted her shirt so Bruce could take a look.
"Pain?" Bruce asked,
"Three, four," Skye said.
"Any sharp pain with movement?" Bruce asked.
"No," Skye said.
Bruce gently pushed on the wound. "It's healing well. No swelling, some bruising but that is to be expected. She is okay."
Skye sat up. "Told you. And now you scared a seven-year-old for no fucking reason," she said as she left the room.
Steve sighed and sat in a chair in the room, putting his head in his hands.
"Skye has been showing great maturity lately, present situation excluded. Why did you think she was lying?" Bruce asked.
"Loki saw something when they were talking and told Thor. Skye was not being cooperative and was arguing with Thor. I thought it was because she was hurt and not wanting to admit it," Steve said.
"There more to it than that?" Bruce asked.
"She's hurt again, even if she's healing," Steve said.
"Yeah," Bruce said. "But she is strong, and she is healing. Like you do every time, too."
Steve nodded.
"She is an Avenger. And I can guarantee it will not be the last time she or any of us get hurt," Bruce said.
"I know," Steve said. "I have always known that. But it's my daughter."
"I know," Bruce said. "But she is built like her dad. Strong and resilient. She's fine right now. So go spend time with your daughter."
Steve got up. "Thanks, Banner," he said before he left the room and went upstairs and found Skye sitting on the couch reading to Morgan.
Steve went and found Thor and Tony. "Banner says she is fine."
"Good," Tony said.
"I'm sorry your kid heard and got scared," Steve said.
"She's okay," Tony said. "Skye showed her the wound that's pretty much healed and told her Banner said she is okay, and Morgan believes it. And now she is reading with her like normal."
Steve smiled. "I see that. And Skye loves her."
"They act very much like sisters from what I have seen," Thor said.
"That's because Skye has always been great with her," Tony said.
Pepper came into the room. "you and Bucky planning on finding a way to expand and give her an actual sibling?" she asked with a smirk.
"It's a little bit harder than if you two decide to give Morgan a sibling," Steve said with a smirk.
Tony chuckled and looked at Pepper.
"Already on that," Pepper said. "I am pregnant."
"Hey! Congrats," Thor said.
"Congratulations," Steve said too, and hugs were shared all around.
"Who knows?" Thor asked.
"You two are the first to know," Tony said.
"You should share with everyone. It's good news, I think we need it," Steve said.
"I agree," Pepper said, smiling at her husband.
"Okay, we will tell everyone," Tony said, agreeing with his wife.
"Everyone come to the living room, there is good news to share," Thor called out. And soon everyone was there. Tony and Pepper shared the news and cheering was all around.
Morgan was most excited that she was going to be a big sister.
Skye said congratulations before she left the room and went to her bedroom, rubbing at the wound on her back. She sat on her bed and called Tucker.
"Hey, Skye, how are you?" Tucker asked answering.
"I'm okay, I want you to hear it from me. I was on Avenger's business yesterday and was injured. I am healing. But I figured you'd want to know," Skye said.
"Okay, injured how?" Tucker asked.
"Stabbed," Skye said.
"Shit, Skye," Tucker said.
"I know, but I heal quickly. It's just a few stitches. I'm a little sore, but I'm okay," she said.
"Can I come over?" Tucker asked.
"Want to see for yourself?" Skye asked
"Yes," Tucker said.
"I don't see why it should be a problem," Skye said.
"I'll be there soon," Tucker said before they hung up.
Skye went and found her dad in the living room and sat next to him. "Tucker is coming over. He wants to see for himself that I'm okay."
Steve nodded. "Okay."
"I'm sorry for the way I spoke to you. I am a little sore. Not that it's a good excuse," Skye said.
"It's forgiven," Steve said.
Skye looked at Thor. "I'm sorry for how I spoke to you, too."
"Forgiven, little one," Thor said.
"Skye, do you need something for the pain?" Steve asked.
"No, I promise I'm not in that much pain," Skye said.
Bucky looked at Steve. "Wasn't there something you wanted to tell your daughter?"
Steve looked over at Bucky and raised an eyebrow.
"Come on. Give the girl good news. She was just stabbed," Bucky said with a smirk.
Steve shook his head and chuckled at Bucky before looking back at his daughter. "You don't have to wait until you're sixteen to date. I know it's going to be Tucker. But if that ever changes, I need to know who you are with. No matter what, I need to where you are going. And your school and other responsibilities come first. Understood?"
Skye squeed and hugged her dad. "Thank you! Yes, I understand."
Steve hugged her. When the hug was broken Skye hugged Bucky, too. "Thank you! I know you played a role in helping him change his mind."
"Skye, you did it on your own by showing him you are responsible," Bucky said, hugging her.
Skye smiled and shrugged.
Soon Tucker was there, and Skye got up from the couch and went over and hugged him.
Tucker hugged her gently not wanting to hurt her.
"I'm really okay," Skye said before looking at her dad. "Tell him I'm okay."
Steve smiled. "She is okay. Still healing, but she is okay."
Tucker smiled. "Okay, good."
"Come let's go hang out in my room," Skye said leading the way. When they were both in the room Skye closed the door halfway and sat on her bed, leaning against the headboard.
Tucker sat next to her. "So where were you stabbed?"
Skye lifted her shirt just enough so he could see.
Tucker cringed.
"It looked worse yesterday. I promise I heal fast," Skye said.
"So who stabbed you?" Tucker asked.
"Someone from a different multiverse. The one I went to. My variant and someone's else's variant showed up here. The knife was Loki's. Magic was used to take it from Loki's hand, and it was shot in my general direction," Skye said.
"Your general direction?" Tucker asked.
Skye let out a breath. "It was going for someone behind me. I jumped in the way."
"A random person you protected?" Tucker asked.
"Another Avenger," Skye said.
Tucker nodded slowly.
"It was Thor, He is not happy I took the knife for him," Skye said.
Tucker smiled a little.
"But, based on what Loki said to me this morning, I'm happy I did because apparently his brother from his universe was killed similarly. So who knows if that might have killed him," Skye said.
Tucker nodded and wrapped her in a hug. "I'm just glad you are okay. Do you still have to worry about your variant or whatnot?"
"No, she and the other variant have been sent back to their universe. Both were injured to different degrees," Skye said, hugging him back.
"Good. That they are back in their own universe," Tucker said.
"Agreed. But on to a better topic," Skye said.
"Yes?" Tucker asked.
"My dad has said I can date," Skye said.
Tucker smiled. "That is great news."
"So, now I just have to wait for someone to ask me," Skye said with a smirk.
Tucker chuckled. "You have plans this weekend?"
"Nope," Skye said.
"Are you on any kind of restriction because of your injury?" Tucker asked.
"No, I should be fully healed by then," Skye said.
"I was thinking maybe we could go kayaking? There is a place in Manhattan that I go often," Tucker suggested.
"I have never been," Skye said.
"I have, I can teach you how," Tucker said smiling at her.
Skye smiled and nodded. "Sounds fun."
"It's a date," Tucker said.
Skye's smile grew, and she leaned her head on his shoulder.
Tucker put an arm around her shoulder and smiled. "So, Loki. You two not ready to kill each other anymore?"
"I think he has realized I am not the Skye he knew from his universe. But I still hate him," Skye said. "I never did anything to him, and he was outwardly cruel to me."
Tucker nodded.
"He did apologize, so I can continue to co-exist with him if I have to. But I'm not thinking we will be friends," Skye said.
"That's reasonable," Tucker said.
"I assume he was the guy glaring at me when I came in here?" Tucker asked.
"The only teenage guy in the living room? Yeah, that's him," Skye said. "He was glaring at you?"
"Yup," Tucker said.
"Sorry. I'll tell him off later," Skye said.
"It's fine, Skye. You do not need to say anything," Tucker said.
"Okay. If you're sure," Skye said.
"I am. I can ignore the glaring," Tucker said.
Skye nodded.
"So, I have a question," Tucker said.
"Yup," Skye said.
"Shouldn't your suit have protected you from a knife?" Tucker asked.
"Suit is knife resistant not knife proof, and Loki's knife is made of material not in this world so it's stronger than earth-made knives," Skye said.
Tucker nodded.
"But, my dad said we could look into a material that would be able to protect against it because it needs to be fixed either way," Skye said.
"So Thor and Loki are literal gods," Tucker said.
Skye chuckled. "Yes, Thor is the god of thunder, and Loki is the god of mischief. I think that is his exact title. It's the stuff we read about in Norse mythology."
Tucker nodded. "So the Loki in your living room is not originally from this universe?"
"Correct. His universe is pretty much destroyed," Skye said.
"And this universe's Loki?" Tucker asked.
"He's in a SHIELD prison," Skye said. "He did some pretty bad things. Oh, and this universe's Loki is older. That is why the one in the living room is often referred to as Kid Loki. "
"Your variant the same age as you?" Tucker asked.
"Yes, or close enough that she looks the same," Skye said. "But her childhood was very different, from what I have gathered."
"Oh?" Tucker asked.
"She was raised by at least her mom. Steve and Victoria are married in her universe. But Skye and Victoria are on Hydra's side, and Steve is not. I feel like Steve in every universe will be on the good side with Bucky," Skye said.
Tucker chuckled. "Maybe."
There was a knock on her half-opened door.
"Yes?" Skye said.
Bruce went in. "I can see why you have missed my texts," he said with a smile.
"Oh," Skye said, picking up her phone from her bedside table and looking. "Sorry, yeah. I didn't hear my phone."
"Just wanted to make sure you healing okay," Bruce said.
"You looked at it already today," Skye said tilted her head.
"Someone seems to think you might be more injured than it seems," Bruce said.
"Well whoever it is, isn't the one who is dealing with it. Or, I'm guessing, is not a medical professional," Skye said.
"You're not wrong. But you've been seen rubbing at your wound often," Bruce said.
"It hurts, I'm not denying that," Skye said.
"Can you humor me and let me take a look again?" Bruce asked.
Skye sighed.
"Does it hurt to let him?" Tucker asked.
Skye let out a breath, shifted to sitting on the side of the bed, and lifted her shirt to let Bruce take a look.
Bruce knelt by her bed and took a look. "Tell me the truth. What is the pain level?"
"Four," Skye said. "Honestly, it's not that bad."
Bruce nodded. "Okay. It doesn't look bad, and I'm not going to interrupt your time with your friend anymore. But later I want to do another set of scans just to be sure."
"Fine," Skye said. "Who is so worried about me?"
"I'm going to keep that to myself as I don't want a fight to break out," Bruce said.
"Fucking Loki," Skye mumbled.
"If he's wrong, no harm done right?" Bruce asked.
Skye nodded. "Right."
Bruce got up. "So come find me later."
"I will," Skye said as Bruce left the room, closing her door halfway. She moved to sitting against her headboard, again leaning against Tucker.
Tucker put his arm back around her.
"I don't know what Loki's end game is, but he is fucking getting on my last nerve, again," Skye said.
Tucker smiled. "Let it go."
"No," Skye said.
"You are the most stubborn person I have ever met," Tucker said.
"Well, that's who I am," Skye said. "And you have put up with it for this long, so you're stuck with me."
Tucker chuckled. "I'm good with that."
Skye smiled and closed her eyes.
"Tired?" he asked.
"Yeah, it's been a long couple of days," Skye said.
They sat in silence for a while until another knock on the door woke Skye from her half-asleep state.
"Yeah," she said.
Steve went in. "Tucker, will you be joining us for dinner?"
"If it's not a problem I would love to," Tucker said.
"Not a problem, you are always welcome," Steve said.
"Thanks," Tucker said.
"You should let Bruce get those scans done before dinner," Steve told Skye.
Skye sighed. "I'm really fine, Dad. I don't need them."
"You agreed to," Tucker said.
"Yeah, yeah," Skye said.
"Go, I'm sure I can find something to entertain myself while you're gone," Tucker said.
"You can go with her. Dr. Banner will not mind," Steve said.
Skye got up. "Come on before I change my mind."
Tucker chuckled and got up, and the two went downstairs.
Skye showed him the bottom floor of the compound as they made their way to Bruce's lab.
"Hi, Dr. Banner. I brought Tucker along for the tests," Skye said.
"Miss Rogers, Mr. Nelson, come on in," Bruce said.
Skye and Tucker went in, and Tucker took a seat in a chair, while she sat on the table in the room.
"I'm sorry this is wasting your time," Skye said.
"It is not a waste of time to make sure you are okay," Bruce said. "I don't go out and fight often. This is how I help the Avengers, so don't feel like it's a waste of time."
"Okay," Skye said as she laid down. "I just think I know how I'm feeling. And, yes, I know I haven't always been honest about that, but you all know when I'm lying."
Bruce chuckled. "That is true. It is very obvious when you are lying, but maybe there is something you are not feeling," he said as he prepped the machines to scan.
"Maybe. But if I can't feel it, how the hell would Loki know anything?" Skye asked.
"I don't know," Bruce said.
"I think he is playing some game," Skye said.
"I was under the impression that you two talked and worked things out," Bruce said as he took the image.
"We talked. He apologized, but I'm not about to forgive him that quickly," Skye said.
Bruce took a look at the images when it loaded into his computer. "There's fully healed internal damage."
"Shocker," Skye said sarcastically.
"Check the attitude, please," Bruce said.
"Sorry," Skye said.
"Let's do one more scan just to be sure there is nothing that needs a deeper look," Bruce said as he started to prepare that machine.
"You basically have a hospital here," Tucker said.
"Yes, with a lot of the Avengers that I treat being enhanced humans, it makes sense to do medical things in-house. The average doctor or medical professional doesn't have the kind of knowledge on enhanced humans needed. I have done the research. And there are a few other medical professionals who I work with, when necessary," Bruce said.
"Dr Strange," Skye said.
"Yes. He is one of the doctors who I have worked with," Bruce said.
"Is it common that an Avenger gets injured?" Tucker asked.
"Minor things happen on occasion when training. Outside of that, unless there is a major battle or something like what happened with Skye or someone taking risks they shouldn't, then no," Bruce said.
"Why do I get the feeling you are one of the people who has taken risks they shouldn't?" Tucker asked Skye.
Skye chuckled. "No comment."
"You always have taken risks. I just think now there are higher chances of it going bad," Tucker said.
"If it makes you feel better, it has been a while since I have," Skye said.
"It wasn't that long ago you were multi-verse traveling," Tucker said.
Skye sighed. "Okay. But that was a minor injury."
"Took you over a month for the bruise to disappear," Bruce said.
"Not helping," Skye mumbled.
Tucker shook his head.
Bruce took the CT scan images and waited for them to upload on the screen. "I'm just telling the truth."
"Yeah, the truth isn't helping my case here," Skye said.
"I don't think I can ever expect that you will stop taking risks," Tucker said. "No matter the promise you made."
"The only risk I have taken since then was this situation, and this was something I couldn't avoid and did everything to protect myself," Skye said
"I know you did everything you could in this situation," Tucker said.
Bruce looked at the scans as they came on his computer. "Yeah, you are fine. Nothing there."
"I knew that. But thank you," Skye said as she sat up. "I can go?"
"Go," Bruce said.
Skye looked at Tucker. "Come on."
Tucker got up and went with her back upstairs to the dining room. His phone went off with a text, and he sighed.
"What?" Skye asked.
"Parol officer likes to do random checks. And, well, I am allowed to be out, but when it happens I'm supposed to get home," Tucker said.
"Oh," Skye said.
"Sorry, Skye," Tucker said.
"It's okay, I get it," Skye said.
They hugged, and Tucker left.
Skye went to the dining room where everyone was starting to sit down for dinner. "Tucker had to get home."
"That's too bad, we can have him over another time," Steve said.
Skye nodded and sat down with everyone else. When dinner was finishing Skye looked at Loki across the table. "So, what's the game you're trying to play?"
"What are you talking about?" Loki asked
"Telling Dr. Banner I'm more hurt than I am when I'm not," Skye said.
"I saw you rubbing at your back," Loki said.
"So, because my stab wound stings a little you think it's this big deal that, even after Dr. Banner had already checked and verified I was fine, he had to waste his time to reverify?" Skye asked.
"Skyler, this is not the time or the place," Steve said.
Skye took a breath and got up, going to her room and closing the door harder than necessary.
Steve took a breath, and Bucky squeezed his leg reassuringly.
When dinner was cleared up Steve went and knocked on Skye's door.
"Yes?" Skye said.
Steve went in.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have slammed the door," Skye said.
"No, you shouldn't have, but that's not what this is about," Steve said.
"I shouldn't have brought it up at the table," Skye said.
"Again, no you shouldn't have. But I'm more worried about you," Steve said.
"I just want to know what Loki is up to. I don't trust him," Skye said.
"And that is your right. And you can ask him the questions, but not at the dinner table," Steve said.
"I know, won't happen again. I will apologize to everyone." Skye said.
"Good," Steve said. "So, I assume Bruce gave you the all-clear?"
"Yes," Skye said
"Tucker is okay?" Steve asked.
"Yeah, his parole officer contacted him he needed to get home," Skye said.
"Okay, you know if you need to talk you can come find me," Steve said.
"I know," Skye said
Steve left her room, and soon after Skye went and apologized to everyone for her behavior at dinner before looking at Loki. "Care to have a conversation? Away from here?"
"Nope," Loki said.
"Fine," Skye said walking away.
Thor looked at his brother. "You two need to figure this out."
" It's not my fault she is a jerk," Loki said.
Thor sighed and got up. "Loki, come with me. Now."
"I'm good here," Loki said.
Thor grabbed his arm and pulled him from the seat he was in and dragged him out of the room.
"Hey!" Loki said, fighting against his brother's grasp.
Thor pulled him into the office.
"I have had more than enough of this problem between you and Skye. I have told you to fix it. You told me you did," Thor said.
"We talked. I have no control over if she lets it go," Loki said.
"Sit down and do not move," Thor said before he went and found Skye and brought her into the office as well.
"You two figure this out so you two can be around each other and not fight," Thor said before he left the room.
"Start by answering my question. What is this game you are playing?" Skye asked.
"I am not playing any game," Loki said.
"So, I feel fine, yet you seem to think otherwise to the point of wasting my time and Dr. Banner's time," Skye said.
"I know you're lying," Loki said.
"I'm not lying. I'm fine. Dr. Banner has verified it. Twice!" Skye said, getting more annoyed.
"Whatever," Loki said.
"Is trying to drive me crazy your goal?" Skye asked.
"No. I am showing concern. Is that not what we are supposed to do?" Loki asked.
"Well, keep that concern to your fucking self. Because I am fine," Skye said.
"Whatever," Loki said, getting up and walking out of the room.
Skye sat on the couch in the room with her head in her hands.
Tony was walking past the office and saw her. He leaned against the open door. "You okay, kid?"
Skye sighed. "Loki is trying to drive me crazy, and it's working."
"Oh?" Tony asked.
"He keeps telling Dr. Banner there is more wrong with me than I even know, even after Dr. Banner has checked me over twice and I have been given the all-clear. But Loki is getting in my head," Skye said.
"If Doctor Banner says you are okay, you are okay," Tony said. "He is always very thorough ."
"I know," Skye said. "But the thought is in my brain, and it won't go away. And I think that's what Loki wants."
"Don't let him get in your head. Dr. Banner cleared you. You're fine. Unless there is more that you are not saying, then you don't need to worry," Tony said.
Skye nodded. "I'll try."
"Good," Tony said. "Did you want to come take a look at what I'm thinking for upgrades to your suit?"
"Sure," Skye said with a smile.
She went with Tony down to his lab and looked at what he showed her.
"I was going to ask Thor, but I forgot. But do you know of anything that could protect from Loki's knife? So if something like that happens again, I'm protected," Skye said.
"I don't. But I can find out if Thor knows of something. I'm pretty sure if he did, he would have said something, though," Tony said.
"Yeah. Probably," Skye said.
"By the way, I do know that you distracted me so that Loki could hurt your variant," Tony said.
"She deserved it," Skye said.
"You are not like that, Skye. You're a good person. I know yesterday was hard. But you need to not let the hard situations change who you are," Tony said.
Skye sighed. "Okay."
"But, you have used your suit for a while. Is there anything you'd like to change?" Tony asked.
"Just if it can be made knife-proof or anything like that," Skye said.
"I will definitely look into getting Vibranium," Tony said.
"Thanks," Skye said, rubbing at her side a bit.
"Hurts?" Tony asked.
"Stings a little," Skye said. "I think it's just the stitches pulling.
"Probably," Tony said.
Skye sighed.
"Banner said you're okay. You're okay," Tony said.
Skye smiled. "I know. Thank you."
Tony showed her a few more things about making the suit before he noticed she seemed to be falling asleep.
