07/15/2656- Tariff Bill Passes the Baranuvrin League Assembly

"Today, the Baranuvrin League Assembly passed the tariff bill with a 7 to 5 majority. The tariff is set to come into effect in two weeks. The two week delay is believed to be, though not confirmed, due to the elections in the Drasuli and Versanu Republics for their representative positions, each set to take place in one week. Representatives of the Armali Republic and multiple corporations that were lobbying hard against the bill, have turned to lobbying for its removal, while others are waiting for the tariffs to take effect before spending their credits, hoping the adverse economic effects of the tariffs will do most of the work for them."
