10-5-2656- Satranali Confederation Begins Raiding The Union

"The Satranali Confederation is a coalition of pirate bands centered around the planet Satranali ruled by the Pirate Queen Trilana L'Anos. The Confederation holds complete control over several worlds in the hands of one or more pirate bands and has many more as tributaries. Nonetheless, the Confederation has mostly left its neighbor, the Union, alone due to its significant military power, preferring to strike at weaker targets. This paradigm appears to be changing, as earlier today several reading fleets from the Confederation attacked targets in the Draklor Commonality, including in its namesake, the Draklor System. Spearheading one of these fleets is the stolen Union heavy cruiser Fortitude, alongside several other missing Union vessels. Most of the attacks have been on ships or distant outposts, a ship or small flotilla coming out of FTL and stealing everything they can before leaving. The stolen goods include, but are not limited to: raw materials, commercial goods, skilled personnel (engineers, technicians, doctors, ect), civilian ships, mining and refining equipment, fabricators, spare parts, life support systems, and beautiful/handsome individuals. While most locations struck have given up without a fight, a few have attempted to stop the pirates, leading to over 20 thousand deaths so far, mostly from reprisals against the crews or settlements instead of from dying defenders. The few attacks not against soft targets for raiding have been military forces. This includes 4 strikes against military anchorages, including the Junaru Anchorage in the Draklor System, and attacks on over two dozen patrolling ships, leading to their destruction or, in some suspected cases, capture. The Draklor Commonality Premier, Radrialis Vanariun, has called upon Union aid in dealing with the attacks, but his requests have so far fallen on deaf ears, with no vessels currently being redeployed to the Commonality, though the orders of several ships slated to leave for the Fardris (location of Sunuvral) and Noudrur Commonalities have been countermanded, though half of those vessels have already been destroyed, crippled, or heavily damaged."
