Chapter 15 - Yes, You Look Perfect
After indulging in a rejuvenating spa treatment, you emerge looking absolutely flawless. Your blonde hair cascades down in perfect curls, your nails adorned with a lovely pink polish, and your makeup impeccably done. It's safe to say that you are a vision of perfection.. In this moment, I find myself wanting to ask you something significant. However, I realize that doing so in a hotel setting wouldn't quite capture the romance I desire. Instead, we opt for a taxi ride to the iconic Empire State Building. As we make our way, Amy takes the lead in conversation while you remain silent, gazing out of the taxi window at the bustling city. Every now and then, your eyes flicker towards your phone, perhaps wondering if Shane has reached out to you. But fret not, my dear, she is here with me, not him.
With our hands intertwined, the four of us step into the elevator that will take us to the top. And there, you catch sight of a bottle of champagne and a bouquet of red roses. To add to the ambiance, I've even arranged for a violinist to serenade us with the enchanting melody of "Moon River."
Your sister, ever the photographer, has her camera at the ready, knowing exactly what is about to unfold. And deep down, you sense it too, don't you? The anticipation builds, and you can't help but wonder what is about to happen next.
"The view of the city is beautiful," she says, looking into my blue eyes. I get down on my knees, holding out the ring. I see you staring at the emerald and diamond covered ring that I am holding up in a black ring box.
"Andrea Noelle Harrison, you are beautiful. I have loved you from the first moment I saw you. I know it took you a little while longer to fall for me. But I'll never forget after our third date, you said you wanted me to be your last first date. So, will you make me the happiest man and marry me?" I said, looking into those dark blue eyes.
Andrea is silent for a moment, the violinist now playing Lover by Taylor Swift. She touches the ring box, looking into my blue eyes.
"Yes, I will,"she says finally after what couldn't have been more than ten minutes. Somehow, it felt longer. I slide the ring on her finger, giving her a soft kiss on the lips. Amy took so many photos, I knew we would treasure them.
To celebrate, we all go to dinner at a diner close by called Ellen's call your mom during dinner, who is more excited than you and maybe even me. I know your dad isn't, but he'll warm up to me Andrea. Finally, after what seems like a long night, we are back at the Penthouse.
"What do you want for your birthday?" Andrea asks, laying on the bed.
"To finally make love to you without a condom. We both have been tested for STDs and aren't seeing anyone else. I mean, hope you aren't,you aren't seeing anyone else," I said, moving closer to her body.
"Of course, I am not seeing anyone else. I love you. I trust you. We've been using them as birth control. That is all," she says, wrapping her arms around me.
"But we want to have a baby, right? I know you've mentioned it. We could try tonight," I said, knowing getting her pregnant would ensure she wouldn't go anywhere.
"I do want to have your baby. But I want to wait until after my wedding though. I want to look perfect in my wedding dress for you. Could you pull out? If so, then you don't have to use one," she says, making a compromise.
"Yes. I will," I said, covering her with my body.. She is my fiancee now, soon she will be my wife. No one would take her from me, I think.
Feeling her inside of me with no protection really is the best birthday gift I could ever get.
