AN: Story's Shadow and I are back. Get ready, cause a lot, and I mean a LOT happens this chapter. This chapter is intense, but next chapter will be even more so, and not just showing the battles, but revelations and showing the last stand of a certain Technologically advanced country that has never been conquered... ruled by a certain King ;)

Also I want to give a special shoutout to the newest story being written by Story's Shadow: "A New Moon Rising Pokémon Saga: Kanto Journeys" which is a very good Pokémon story, which has my endorsement and I strongly encourage everyone to read.

Unto the show.

-NYC, Manhattan Streets-

Vixen growled as she cut through the blade of one of the soldiers before quickly plunging the sword into its chest, disintegrating it instantly. Around her were piles of ash that had once been the same kind of soldiers that she had just slain. She paid no attention to this mounting pile as he focus returned to the invading force counting to march into the city. Rank upon rank of these infantrymen marched shoulder to shoulder and shield to shield as their numbers really started to become more evident as Vixen couldn't see any part of the surrounding area that didn't have these soldiers marching on it.

This only increased her rage, though. Now firsthand she was witnessing the kind of military might that had invaded her ancestral home and had threatened the safety of her adopted one. Even though she had the most powerful weapon in creation in her hands, she felt the ever growing sense of dread build in her. With every soldier she slew, it appeared as though ten more took its place. She looked around at the battle, seeing Vulpine, Iron Heart, and other citizens of this world trying to defend against the invaders.

Civilians ran off in crowds, being steered by this nation's soldiers and the city's law enforcement officers. Soldiers tried to hold formation as they opened fire once civilians had evacuated the area. Their bullets though had little to no effect against the shields especially when they locked together. The soldiers of the Dragon Emperor took small yet tight formations with their shields were locked together, covering nearly every part of the soldiers as they marched forward.

One of the soldiers looked to her, eyes wide.

"What the hell is that you're carrying?!"

She turned to him, eyes so bloodshot and full of anger that it caused the man to flinch. Vixen gritted her teeth and she gripped the sword harder.

"What's going to send them to Hell!"

Vixen snarled as she rushed forward, the sword once again ablaze with flames. She lunged forward, the holy weapon literally cutting through the front of the shield formation. The invaders hissed as their shields turned to ash in their hands. As they attempted to retaliate, the same wave of pyrokinetic energy surged forward and scattered the unit across the nearby street.

She then fixed her gaze on another unit of soldiers, one of the motioning with their hand and pointing at her. Vixen immediately charged forward as the invaders got into a firing line, leveling their blasters at her. Vixen snarled as she jumped into the air just before they fired, the energy blasts surging under her. Her eyes were wide as she opened her jaws as she roared.

"DIE!"

She stabbed down with the blade, instantly destroying one of the soldiers before slashing to her right with the blade before slicing back to the left. Her weapon destroyed every soldier in its immediate line of attack. The other soldiers tried to pull back that were just out of reach the weapon only for the surge of energy to send them flying and incinerating them from the fire.

Human soldiers looked on in disbelief at what they saw taking place before them. The girl with the bright red hair now with covered in ash and soot from the fallen soldiers she'd slain stood, breathing hard as she held the enchanting weapon in both clawed hands. Her teeth were gritted and her fangs were very prominent in the scowl that she fixed upon these foes. She then raced forward again, sword pointed at the invaders.

Not far from her, Vulpine was struggling against the invaders. With no Faunian blade, the Fox believed it could very well be his time.

'Perhaps the Gods cursed me before they died.'

This thought had come to him more than once since he learned the truth of his origin and existence. If it was true, he couldn't and wouldn't blame them. Regardless, Vulpine aimed to aid in the defeat of his creator and former master. This entire thought process had been blaring in his mind as he evaded and parried the attackers of the soldiers.

He gritted his teeth as he blocked a sword strike, one hand gripped his sword's handle while the pushed against the other part of the blade. The Fox glared at the creature he found himself battling against as he tried to push back against the weight of the soldier's attack. The soldier's strength was greater than he anticipated though. Unlike Metatron, Cassandra, or Jacob, Vulpine had never fought any of the more powerful soldier's of Imperious when he attacked Faunia. The irony wasn't lost on him.

'The Gods did curse me.'

Suddenly the creature turned to ash, another wave of the fire from Vixen's sword blazed across the street. The roar of the fire was only exceeded in volume by Vixen's howls for blood. His eyes widened at the sight of Vixen holding the sword in her hands, her vibrant hair and faced almost completely covered in ash with her eyes gleaming in her desire for vengeance.

Vulpine found himself wondering if Vixen had any Tiger in her blood from this display as she continued to cut through the soldiers. He looked up to see Iron Heart flying in the air a few yards above him.

The young Secret Warrior blasted at a group of the invaders as they attempted an ambush aimed at some of the soldiers that had taken a defensive position in front of a few shops. The creatures had climbed on top of the buildings from the other side. She had only just caught it thanks to her scanner she'd installed to catch threats in real time. Despite her growing confidence in her ability to utilize her armor, she found that this extra layer of software defense had come in very handy.

The invaders evaded around the blast though this caught the attention of the soldiers who quickly moved to find another place to stage a defense against the creatures. Iron Heart then surged forward, slashing with her naginata. The blade decapitated one of the soldiers with this strike. She then flew up, the blast from her boots pushing back more the soldiers as they tried to mob her.

She watched as some of her drones she'd activated earlier fly around the creatures, blasting small yet precise lasers. The soldiers tried to swat them with their shields and hands, but the machines were too fast. Iron Heart had admittedly questioned whether or not this invention would truly be an effective weapon against the invaders given their size. From what she was seeing, they were at the very least quite handy.

While they weren't wreaking overwhelming damage, these attacks did pull away the attention of the invaders and provided small yet multiple strikes which had been proving to peel away the seeming unshakable focus of these creatures. Still, Iron Heart knew she needed to use the weapon Crusader had given to her to strike the most decisive blows. The Secret Warrior flew forward again, striking with her naginata.

Ghost Spider leapt off the sign of a nearby building, firing a crossbow bolt at an invader that aimed its blaster at her. The bolt pierced into its helmet, disintegrating the entity instantly. Another quickly fired its blaster which Ghost Spider had just managed to dodge by web slinging to another building. She quickly held her crossbow in both hands, firing another bolt and destroyed the soldier that attacked her.

Captain Stacey watched from behind the car he and a couple of his officers reloaded behind him. He found himself almost laughing.

"Never thought I'd be having my hide saved by her of all people."

One of his officers leaned over the car, firing off a few rounds at an invader that was taking aim with its blaster at Ghost Spider as they spoke whilst not turning to look at the man.

"Well we might get a chance to return to favor if this keeps up. These rifles are doing a little better than our pistols, but only just a little."

Captain Stacey quickly moved to take a firing position again, letting a few shots off.

"Where are the rest of our officers?!"

One of the cops panted as he dropped down behind the car, reloading his weapon.

"Some got caught up in the evacuation! Some are trying to make their way to headquarters but I think some might be trying to get their families out! I don't know about the rest though."

Captain Stacey gritted his teeth, his forehead dripping with sweat.

It wasn't lost on him what some of his officers might be doing. He'd heard and seen bits of the news from some of his men present. Even the Avengers were struggling if not on the backfoot of this fight against these creatures. While he didn't want to rush to judgment, he feared perhaps some of his men might be fleeing with the civilians.

Regardless, he looked up to see Ghost Spider leaping from building to building as she fired web balls and crossbow bolts. The webbing would cover the helmet of the creatures then the bolt would pierce through it, destroying them instantly. Captain Stacey almost laughed at the absurdity of a medieval weapon doing what a modern assault rifle couldn't. Still, he didn't deny that Ghost Spider was the only one really doing clear damage.

His eyes fixed on the creatures as they moved to use their shields to block the crossbow bolts. With this, he saw that the shield didn't cover their flanks to various degrees. The police captain aimed his rifle and fired at this opening. While he noticed this didn't truly cause any serious damage, he saw that the formations of these invaders didn't appear to move in such perfect form when he did this.

Captain Stacey then moved behind the car to reload and give a new order.

"These things leave themselves open when Ghost Spider focuses that crossbow on them. Fire at their flanks when she has their focus."

"Will that do any damage?"

"About as much as we've been doing, but it might just distract them long enough for her to kill them easier."

His men shared a look of uncertainty, hesitance even. Captain Stacey shook his head.

"Right now she's our best bet at beating these things here. So let's just get this done."

Before any of them could reply, Captain Stacey took his firing position again and started taking shots like he'd just done a minute ago. He kept an eye out for those small moments when the invaders' shields weren't guarding their flanks then fired off rounds. His men then started taking their positions and followed their captain's lead, some more quickly than others though.

Ghost Spider looked to the side after she dodged another energy blast, she noticed the creatures shifted their shields to guarding against the direction where the cops were firing from. She chuckled under her breath.

"Let's see what we can do with this."

Ghost Spider leapt from them building, firing another crossbow bolt as one of the soldiers had just moved their shield to temporarily blocked the bullets being fired at it from the cops. The bolt pierced into its helmet and turned it into ash instantly. She also fired several more web balls, which momentarily ensnared some of the creatures' shields together which then made the police open fire on their more open flanks. While the bullets weren't penetrating through their armor, this made them hiss in annoyance.

Ghost Spider quickly continued to utilize this strategy, firing webbing that entangled the creatures together for the police to distract the soldiers further while she continued to shoot with her crossbow. Every time she aimed for the neck and head if she managed it. She wanted to make sure she did as much decisive damage as possible.

Quake, Ms. Marvel, and Inferno tried to hold their position along with the military officers around them against the seemingly never ending march of invaders. Quake slashed her katana against the blade of one of the swords of the invaders, her eyes narrowed though she couldn't see its eyes through its helmet.

"Your boss is gonna regret this, you hear me?!"

The invader didn't respond, it only attempted to bash her with its shield. Quake had pushed one fists against the creature, her concussive seismic blast sent it flying back. The invader collided against and bashed through more of its kin till some of them locked their shields together and stopped its momentum. After this, the same soldier Quake had sent flying got back up and took hold of its weapons and went back into formation as did the other invaders it had flown through.

Quake's eyes widened at this. She raced back towards where Ms. Marvel had been literally stepping over and around the soldiers, elongating her legs while she swung her kusarigama. The blade cut across shields and helmets, leaving scorched scratches against the armor.

"Ms. Marvel! We need to disrupt their formation!"

Ms. Marvel grunted as she jumped around energy blasts and slashed with her weapon, tripping some of the soldiers only for them to get back up into formation again.

"How?!"

Quake turned to see Inferno slashing with his axe, chopping an invader's sword in half before decapitating it with his next swing.

"Inferno! We need you to use your fire!"

"What?! No! It will get out of control!"

Ms. Marvel jumped over to Inferno, embiggening her feet and literally stomping an invader into the ground. She then turned to Inferno.

"Remember what Cassandra said! It's not about control!"

Inferno turned around, seeing the invaders massing in more numbers as they approached their position. He shook his head.

"That's Faunian fire magic! My fire is different!"

Quake parried a strike from the sword of another invader before twisting to the side, pulling her sword back whilst leading her enemy's to the ground. Then she stabbed the blade into the creature's throat, turning it to ash. She then turned to Inferno, chest heaving as she began to tire.

"Then use what you think you can manipulate! We can't let these things spread through the city!"

Inferno turned, seeing their world's soldiers fire from around cars and on the sides of buildings. He frowned.

"Tell those men to retreat! I'll see what I can do!"

Quake and Ms. Marvel nodded, rushing over to the military near them. Inferno watched his friends and the military retreat down the street. He turned and laid the axe on the ground, the invaders marching towards him. The young Inhuman brought up his hands and shot fire from them. He gritted his teeth as he watched the flames move to engulf the creatures. Within moments all he could see is fire, his eyes widened as he pulled his hands back and stopped his attack.

As he picked up the axe and moved to fall back, he heard through the crackling of the flames a haunting sound: low laughter. He watched as familiar humanoid forms walk through the fire. The invaders emerged from the flames, some even stood in them as they held the gaze of Inferno. One took a single step forward in front of the other invaders.

"How disappointing."

Inferno's eyes widened at the statement.

"Y-You can talk?"

The creature nodded.

"Your fire is weak, boy."

"What?"

"We have faced the pyromancers of Faunia, their fire was a worthy challenge to face. You have no such skill or strength."

Inferno's eyes widened as the creature raised its blade. He then jumped back, throwing one hand forward. A stream of fire shot from it, pushing against the soldier and sending Inferno flying back. The young Inhuman raced to join his friends, only to look back and see the invaders still marching forward.

Patriot found himself wishing he had a Vibranium shield like Captain America's even more. He felt the blades starting to shred the very shield he was so proud to carry into battle. He jumped back and tried to stab with his spear. But the invaders locked their shield together, the tip of the spear made a scorched scratched mark on the one it struck. As the young Secret Warrior landed back on his feet, he frowned at this.

"Ok, let's try something else."

He ran along the street and jumped on top of a car and ran along its hood before lunging the direction of the invaders. The young hero's leap carried him over his foes and he twisted slightly in the air and stabbed down with his spear. Again the invaders blocked with their shields with the same results. Patriot landed on his feet not to far from them, which they responded with stabbing with their own spears. The Secret Warrior brought up his shield, blocking the attacks. However, the bladed tips of the polearms stabbed through the shield around the arm.

Patriot's eyes widened at this and he pulled back his shield after striking the spears with his own, cutting off the bladed tips with his own and made them disintegrate. He grunted as he got back onto his feet as the soldiers' weapons changed into mist again and this time they transformed into polearms with even longer and larger blades. Patriot gasped at this then gritted his teeth.

"I need some help over here!"

As soon as he said this, he watched a star shape portal be punched above the soldiers and out dropped America Chavez. She laughed as she landed in the middle of the unit and stabbed her daggers through the helmets of two of the creatures resulting in them being destroyed instantly. Chavez smirked as she then charged into another, stabbing a dagger into the throat. The other creatures moved to counter which Patriot took as his moment. He raced forward and stabbed with his spear, piercing through the throat of one of the creatures.

Chavez scoffed, a smile on her face.

"I thought you said you needed help?"

Patriot jumped back from the swing of the other invader, its polearm nearly striking his knees.

"I do! Doesn't mean I can't help return the favor?"

Chavez laughed at this before flying forward and stabbed both daggers into the creature's helmet, destroying it instantly. She then stood up, grinning.

"I think I can handle myself."

Patriot panted and nodded. His eyes widened.

"Where's SG?!"

They heard once again the sounds of laughter and shouting. Both turned to see Squirrel Girl jumping from car to car, firing arrows at more of the creatures. The arrows peppered shields and slashed across the armor of the soldiers leaving scorched scratch marks. Squirrel Girl turned to see one of the soldiers aiming with their blaster. She leapt towards them, aiming the bow. She loosed an arrow and it flew into the blaster as the invader attempted to fire. The weapon exploded and with the energy of the arrow, it wrapped the creature in holy fire.

The invader hissed as it made to charge forward, a sword morphing into its hand. But as the fire spread, its body began turning to ash before it finally was incinerated. Squirrel Girl grinned at this, cheering as she threw a punch into the air.

"Sweet!"

She turned to see Chavez smiling at her whilst Patriot stared at her with his jaws agape before he spoke.

"H-How did you-?"

"Just felt like the sensible thing to do."

Before he could respond, more of the soldiers rushed forward. Squirrel Girl turned, firing her arrows from her bow. They struck the shields of the invaders, but they continued to rush forward. SG's eyes widened then narrowed as she jumped forward, firing with her bow.

Patriot gasped.

"Wait! Don't!"

The arrows flew and they pierced into the throats of a couple of the invaders. However one of those the arrows didn't hit dropped onto its knees and held its shield up. Another jumped onto its shield than was pushed up, propelling the invader into the air. SG's eyes widened at this, hair standing on end, as she was tackled in the air and onto the ground by the invader. The creature then began hitting her with its shield as more of its kin joined him in this. Patriot felt his heart drop.

"SG!"

He and Chavez raced forward. Suddenly they witnessed SG toss the invaders off her. She let out a yell of anger and terror as she held onto the legs of one of the soldiers and threw it like a rag-doll and knocked it into more of its kin. Chavez and Patriot froze, eyes wide at this. Squirrel Girl picked her bow back up and fired more arrows which pieced into the throats of the incoming invaders and destroyed them instantly.

Chavez and Patriot rushed up to her, eyes wide. There were no visible serious injuries anywhere on her body that they could see. SG let out a gasp, eyes still wide.

"Wow, I didn't see that coming."

She then turned to them, perplexed by the looks on their faces.

"W-What?"

Patriot finally managed to speak.

"Y-You...I don't see any scratches or bruises on you."

SG's eyes widened a moment before she looked around at her body. Patriot was right, she saw no serious injuries anywhere. She did feel a little sore, but it wasn't anything she couldn't fight through.

"Whoa, cool."

Chavez let out a chuckle, shaking her head.

"And here I thought I was the invulnerable one."

SG laughed at this and Chavez joined her. Patriot just sighed in relief then turned back to the soldiers that continued to march through the city.

"Come on, we still got more of these things to fight."

Squirrel Girl grinned.

"Race ya!"

She then took off, America Chavez following. Patriot gasped.

"What? Wait!"

He then hurried after them.

Ghost Spider leapt away from the energy blast fired by one of the invaders. The creatures had made a wall of shields then behind them were a row of their comrades that were taking shot with their blasters. The police had retreated to doorways and behind partially destroyed cars scattered across the streets. Captain Stacey himself knelt behind a the burnt wreckage of one such vehicle. He aimed his weapon at one of the invaders with a blaster, firing. The soldier in front of it raised its shield as he fired, the bullets dropping to the ground once they struck the shield.

"Damn it!"

He took aim at this soldier, only for the shield to block his attack. He looked to Ghost Spider, who was still taking shots at the soldiers. The bolts pierced through the shields only for new shields to be formed in their place.

"These guys are starting to piss me off!"

Captain Stacey scoffed.

"We gotta attack them from their rear!"

He turned to a few of his men after taking cover behind the car then pointed to them.

"You men find a path around these guys so we can try to attack them from more than one angle!"

One of them nodded and they hurried around the buildings. Captain Stacey took his firing position again, aiming down the sights.

"Anyone see what might look like a leader or something?!"

Ghost Spider dodged another blast and then landed on another car a few yards from him.

"They all look the same!"

Captain Stacey cursed to himself.

"If you see one that looks like he's giving orders, take him out!"

Ghost Spider nodded after a moment then leapt back onto one of the nearby builds, firing off more crossbow bolts. A few of the invaders stood up and locked their shields together, the bolt piercing through the shields. As she fired more bolts at them, she saw some of the soldiers breaking formation. In this gap, more of these creatures rushed forward towards the cops with their shields up.

"No!"

She leapt forward, firing crossbow bolts at them. Then she felt that familiar sense of danger. She saw to her side that some of the soldiers aimed their blasters at her and fired. Ghost Spider turned her crossbow towards them and fired off a bolt or two.

The energy blasts were too close and as he bolts collided with them, an explosion of the warring energies erupted. Ghost Spider screamed as she was thrown back, part of her costume scorched and shredded from the blast. Captain Stacey watched, eyes wide, as the Secret Warrior flew at and through the window of a nearby abandoned shop.

He turned to some of his officers.

"Give me cover fire!"

They nodded and stood up, firing their weapons at the invaders as the police captain rushed into the building through the same window that Ghost Spider flew through. Shelves and tables within the shop had been tossed aside and broken from what he knew were from the young woman being thrown through the shop. Soon he found drops of blood and saw up ahead the fallen form of Ghost Spider.

He rushed over to her. Ghost Spider's costume and been largely scorched and shredded. Her stomach was bare and a large dark spot was visible and went up to her chest. He'd seen his kind of injury before: internal bleeding. A rib or more must've broken and likely pierced one of her organs.

"Damn it, you! You didn't have your innocence proven just to go and get killed by-!"

He then stopped as he saw her face was against the floor, part of her mask was completely torn off and a puddle of blood was on the floor. Captain Stacey could hear her groaning and gasping in pain, while also taking shaky breaths gasping for air.

"Hold on, we're-"

He heard it before he felt it. Then stamping of feet and breaking of nearby objects. The man turned and tried to fire with his gun, but one of the invaders bashed him with its shield and sent him skidding across the floor and smashing into a shelf. The top half of the shelf and its contents fell on him which resulted in a shout of pain from the man.

Ghost Spider found her head being moved by a cold metal hand. Her vision was so cloudy, partially blinded by her own blood and sweat. She made out a few figures standing over her, swords raised, and one spoke in a low hiss.

"In the name of his eminence, we grant you a quick death!"

"N-No..."

Suddenly she barely made out one of the creature's chest having something pierced through it. As her vision started to fade, the brief glances of something long and sharp, likely a sword being cut into the other invaders before they were slain. Before her vision faded once again, she thought she saw someone stand over the ashes that had been Imperious' soldiers. But quicker than the blink of an eye the figure was gone, leaving no trace.

She wondered if what she had seen was accurate, or a pain induced hallucination.

Captain Stacey grunted as he pushed off part of the shelf off of him and tossed it to the side. He looked up, only seeing ash on the ground. He'd heard metal against metal just moments ago, but he saw nothing or nobody that could've caused it. Then his focus shifted to Ghost Spider again and he picked himself up. The police captain limped over to her and knelt down.

"Come on, we-"

His eyes widened a little at seeing the young woman's visible part of her face.

"What?.

His heart pounded at seeing those familiar blue eyes and blonde hair. His hand went to the barely remaining half of her mask and gently removed it. Captain Stacey's heart felt like it had been pierced as his hands went to his daughter's face.

"Gwen?! GWEN?!"

He turned back in the direction of the shop, some of his officers looking in his direction.

"I NEED HELP!"

Vulpine watched as Vixen slashed the sword through another of the soldiers. The divine weapon couldn't be halted by any blade or shield the soldiers of Imperious wielded. With each new swing, another soldier fell at its might. The Fox watched as Vixen continued to carve through the soldiers, her wrath cutting through each and every one of them as more tried to mob around her. Then waves of energy from the sword also surged forward, incinerating any soldier that tried to get close.

Vulpine turned at seeing another soldier rush him, bringing its sword down. The Fox blocked the attack and then pushed it aside. He then slid under the reach of the invader and then pushed the shield out of its other hand. The soldier turned with a hiss, bringing its sword to bare in another slash. The blade crashed against the shield it had just been wielding. Vulpine gritted his teeth as he pushed back against his foe before stabbing with his blade.

The sword cut into the soldier's throat, which caused the creature to drop to the ground and dissolve before its liquid form evaporated. Vulpine panted as he turned to face the next soldier, only to find all the nearby ones rushing towards or aiming their weapons at Vixen. His eyes widened.

"VIXEN! THEY'RE-!"

She couldn't hear him despite his scream. Her mind was filled with her internal screams as she related verbal ones whilst she slashed with her sword. The soldier fired their blasters, but the waves of energy instantly transformed them into what looked to be some gaseous form only for them to disappear.

Vulpine grunted as he rushed forward, charging towards the soldiers with blasters. One turned to him, aiming its weapon. However, the Fox had jumped to the side before the entity turned in his direction. He slashed with the sword, the blade cut through the legs of the same soldier that prepared to take aim at him. It feel to the ground with a horrific screech. The Fox then jumped at the others, slashing with the sword and cut the others' blasters into two.

They turned to face him, swords forming in their hands. But they were launched away, a rocket had struck at their feet sending them all flying around the street. Vulpine turned to Iron Heart, who leveled an arm where the soldiers once stood. He gasped as he turned from her to Vixen then back to her again.

"More of them are trying to mob her!"

Iron Heart looked to Vixen and then held out her arms. Compartments opened up and lasers fired from within them, striking the shields and armor of the invaders. The intense heat and energy was pushing some of them back though it was piercing through their armor as quickly as Riri would've thought.

"Come on! Burn!"

Vulpine turned to see another soldier aiming its blaster at Iron Heart which he responded by jumped forward. He stabbed the sword through the helmet of the creature, making it dissolve then evaporate as the one did before. As the Fox removed the blade, another soldier rushed him and slashed down with its sword. He blocked with the shield and found himself being pushed against a wall. Vulpine snarled as he bared his fangs, trying to force his way free.

"Damn you!"

The soldier was then peppered by some of the lasers from some of the drones Iron Heart had released into the fight. As it attempted to swat them with its shield, Vulpine managed to free his sword arm then stabbed the creature through its throat. Vulpine gasped as he fell to his knees as the soldier dissolved.

As he did, Iron Heart got an alert from her armor. She turned and aimed one of her gauntlets, but the energy blast had hit. Iron Heart fell to the ground from the attack as the soldier rushed to charge her. Vulpine raced forward and jumped onto its back, trying to stab it with his sword. He looked up then jumped off just before Iron Heart flew forward and impaled the soldiers with her naginata. As it disintegrated around the holy weapon, more of the invaders rushed forward and surrounded Iron Heart and Vulpine.

As they readied their weapons, they witness more of the soldiers rushing towards Vixen. Most of them fired their blasters at her, only for the energy to be altered by the waves of energy. They then positioned their shields to their front and rushed forward. Many of them were incinerated by the fires of the sword or sliced by Vixen swinging the blade.

However, Iron Heart and Vulpine witnessed as Vixen continued to roar as she swung her sword, more and more of the soldier rushed forward. Soon the young Fox had been surrounded as well and as she still cut many of them down, one soldier closed the distance. Right before it was incinerated, it bashed its shield against Vixen's face whilst the sword was being slashed in another direction.

Vixen's focus had all been red and wrath. Her howls for the blood of Imperious echoed for all to hear. She would have her vengeance against the one who had destroyed so much, taken so much from her. She had carved a path through his soldiers, to show him that she wouldn't be stopped. He could throw soldier after soldier at her, she would cut them all down. Her fire would not be extinguished by him or any he commanded.

Despite her rage, despite wielding the weapon she believed would assure the fall of the Dragon Emperor, and knowing in the back of her mind her friends and allies were fighting alongside her against this hated foe. She soon found herself on the ground, the sword having fallen out of her hand. Then she slept into unconsciousness, the last thing she saw before this was the sight of the fearful look on Vulpine's face as he called out to her.
