(Night time) in a part of the forest theagan's territory
Our two main charcters Lief and Barda carrying the raldin prisoner on bardas back are running from the grey guards "there gaining on us and soon they'll fire those poisonous blisters" lief said and a grey guard was about to fire a blisters from the slingshot in his arm.
Suddenly some weird vine ball was fired from branches of the trees hitting thr grey guards and one of them shouted "what was that " and they saw it was jasmine and cal throwing them from the tree branches. "You two" one of the gray guard shouted jasmine said" lets get out of here" and they jumped away from branch to branch landing next to lief and barda.
Lief asked "were did you two learn that" and cal and jasmine replied "that was nothing". they had all started running through the woods until they found a path and ran on that."This isnt good the path is straight and there aren't so many trees it'll give them a clear shot" lief said barda then spoke " through here it's only chance" and the cut through the bushes and found a sweet plum bush. Jasmine smelled them and said"thats sweet plums" lief added "they smell really delicious".Barda walked and said"now is not the time to be thinking about food" and jasmine with lief moved with barda but cal decided to take ten of the with hatters help hatter launched ten tourquise magic construct spiders to grab them and stored them inside himself and followed the others.
They continued to run on another trail till jasmine turned her head to look back and noticed no ones following them"look they're not chasing us anymore "she said bardas was like "what" and lief said"thats a relief".
The moon shining down with a few clouds they placed the ralidin man infrot of a tree barda and cal stood up while jasmine and lief neeled next to him to treat his wounds jasmine pulled out a medium size jar filled with green goo jasmine then said,"I made this myself. It's my mother's recipe it heals skin quickly" the ralid man thanked her by nodding his head forward and she said"you don't need to thank me" and he nodded again.
Lief got up and spoke"we're still not completely out of danger we need to scout the area " the ralid man grabed him by the cloak meaning he didnt want them to leave"you should rest and wait for us here" lief said to the ralid he was grunting disproving lief replied"dont worry we'll be back" and they walked leaving the ralid boy by the tree.
Our adventures walked out to a small clearing "its weird there are no grey gurads around" lief said then barda"true".Next they they saw a small house in the clearing with the lights on and smoke coming from the chimney "I don't believe it" lief spoke and jasmine added "people live out here".Fili was moaning and jasmine asked "whats bothering you fili" and he closed his eyes cal said, " Im with fili on this our instincts are telling us there's danger here hatter cover my face please" then hatter mumbled affirmative dropping down his extra clothing feature to cover him from neck to head except for his eyes he place his google eyes over cals.
They had all walked to a sigh "whats this" jasmine said the sign was broken left side on its right side it said ring and enter below its left side a bell "I guess we're supposed to ring this hanging bell" and thats what lief did. The door of the house opened and two characters popped their heads out one was a white skined woman with hair covering the back of her head to her neck with sick purple head band wearing a blue dress with white apron sickly purple shoes and the other a brown skin man with pointy ears pointy white hair wearing green clothes and dark red shoes.
"Its alright to me they just look like a nice old couple" lief said, " lets go ask them for directions " barda said as they walked towards them jasmine said "wait for me" walking towards with cal behind her. Suddenly the began sinking in quicksand they all grunted to get out jasmine"oh my gosh its quicksand help me im sinking" fili jumped on her head then lief saw a piece of wood that said (warning! of quicks do not). Lief grabbed the wood piece and said"hold onto this" and jasmine said " you got to be kidding me holding onto that isn't going to help".
A long rope was cast to them and they all grabbed it "were saved" barda said, it was the four foot couple that tossed the rope and tied the other end to a wooden pole "took em long enough" jasmine said, and they started pulling till they reached the old couple on dry land. The lady said"meht thguac ew" and man said"tseaf a gnivah er'ew" and they both said their words, a second time "they're saying something, but I can't understand what it is" lief said "ive never heard that language before" lief then said"I wonder if they understand what we're saying thank you very much" and they both nodded their heads. Fili gave them an angry look symbolizing he didn't trust them "fili what are you so scared about" jasmine asked him and cal replied "this seems very suspicious" in a muffled voice so no one could identify him. "They seem alright to me" lief quiped "yes but lets not forget that we rang the bell like it told us to on their sign and ended up in danger because of it " Barda added lief talked "but thats because the sign was broken in two" and lief put it together "now i see I grabbed the other half warning ring of quicksand do not enter that what was written" jasmine said,"ya but they know the sign is broken so why leave a bell there" and leif spoke " there surrounded by a ring of quicksand they probably don't know what's out there".
The two elderly spoke lady" nij eman" then man"doj eman" and lief said "my names lief this is barda,jasmine,cal and the little guys fili" and then the couple said" ni emoc"."What do you think" barda interject, lief said,"lets at least go in and dry off", and jasmine spoke"hang on a minute I don't get it fili wouldn't be this scared for nothing i have a bad feeling about this" cal finally chimed in " I agree with you completely jasmine" and the couple said something involving pie and tea. " i had my doubts but thees two people just saved our lives" and jasmine spoke up " what about the ralid man he'll wake up and find us gone","she does have a point" cal said. "We'll leave as soon as we eaten and our clothes are dried" lief said and they all walked to the house with jasmine and cal in the back. Cal was thinking about their names nij and doj 'why do those name sound familiar' he thought.
(inside the house)
They had all walked inside the house the first room a quaint kitchen lief had looked around and saw the place and the couple said some mumble while doing the come here hand jester and lief spoke"oh thank you. All of there clothes had hing on rope to dry " its so nice to be warm and dry again" lief said barda added "ya no kidding". Jasmine and cal looked around the second room "hey have you noticed there are no windows?" jasmine said and lief said "what do you mean there's one up there". Jasmines replied" there's something about this place that freaks me out we should leave as soon as are clothes are dry".
Next we see a plate with four sweet cakes, tea pitcher and four tea cups after our groups clothes have dried the couple said more mumbles. The woman tried to pet fili and he moved onto jasmines right shoulder "stop it he doesn't like that" jasmine reacted "be nice jasmine" Barda comment "they've been nothing but kind to us" lief said "the quicksand had me worried to but its for people like them were trying to save deltora" barda finished. Jasmine huffed and turned her head to the left she then whispered "hey lief is the belt safe and is the topaz still in place" and lief said "uh ya" while fiddling with it cal spoke " lief let me help you with that" and he did because his instincts told him to. Lief rplied to him its ok that he could help with the belt.
Both lief and cal had theirs hands on the topaz slightly and it glowed. When they both looked at the couple they had changed standing before them were creatures which surprised both lief and cal. The woman was white with slightly red lined body oval feet with two yellow fangs sticking from top of her mouth and blue eyes with black dots with trihorns sticking in the back of her head.As for the man he was brown with bumps which made him look like he didn't have a head just face on chest had three toed feet had five blue teeth and blue forked toung sticking out and had yellow eyes the right is smaller slant on top with black dots on each eye the only thing these creatures had in common on limbs was they had five fingers on each hand.Both lief and cal were stepping back while the brown creature was pour the ugly tea the whole house went from clean to ruined ' am I hallucinating is this a dream' they both thought and they took their hands of the topaz and the creatures went back to couple and back slightly'this cant be real what's happening' Lief thought' im surprised i ran into them sooner then I think' cal thought.
The creatures spoke in english "here you go girl" white creature said handing jasmine a tea cup full tea "its your last meal" brown creature said and then lief and cal figured it out 'Meht thguac we We caught them Tseaf a gnivah erew Were having a feast, their speking backwards' lief and cal thought. 'Why is it I can see the truth we both touched the topaz' lief and cal thought. The topaz protected wear from the terrors of the night it has the power to open doors into the spirit world it strengthens and clears the mind. Both lief and cal touched the topaz again fully and the illusion was cleared.
"Soon you can sleep forever" brown said "we'll have fresh mea these fools have no idea" white said and they walked back into the kitchen closing the door behind them. Just then as Barda grabbed a tea cup to drink cal and lief shocked and lief slapped tea cup out of his hands while he swalloed a small quarter of it "don't drink that"lief spoke "what did you do that for? Have you lost your mind or something?" and cal said " no he hasn't lost his mind and somethings wrong with this tea"
Then barda started to yawn and feel drowsy fell to the floor but " stay awake barda come on get up i knew there was something wrong with that tea" and he grabbed barda and jasmine's hand to place on the topaz."What are you doing" she said and cal spoke "clearing your minds" know Barda and jasmine saw the truth the room they were in went from pleasent house illusion to rotten falling apart. "This room" barda spoke "everything is different" jasmine finished they heard knife sharpening man monster brown said, " fresh meat fresh meat" and monsert white woman said" it's been so long since we've eaten fresh meat". They were all shocked to hear this is a trap.
In the kitchen which now showed its true colors and appearance the white monster girl was sharpening a cleaver on a stone and said" shall we share some with mother" and brown monster boy working on stoking fire underneath boiling pot bowl of dirty water said,"yes she'll love our stew"
"This was all a trap to have us as their dinner" jasmine said " i don't believe it" barad replied. "But why couldn't we see it?" jasmine said cal finally spoke " I think I know they're speaking backwards in the illusion they said nij and doj read them backwards and they say jin and jod". Everyone remembered the song the giant song " their names are jin and jod their sorceress thaegen's children" lief said "i thought it was strange that the grey guards stoped following us its just not like them to give up so easily but now I understand why"barda spoke. Lief said" the grey guards must of guessed we were hiding near by and they knew we eventually wander into the quicksand only to be caught and eaten by jin and jod" jasmine got up and said "lets get out of here" they looked around minus barda. They remembered the only window there was high up and jasmine realized "thats why the only window is way up there it's impossible to escape" cal then said"nothing is impossible Jasmine " and lief said " so there's no way out but to pass through the kitchen".
Just then jasmine saw a handle belonging to a door "hey look is that a door" and ran to it and open the door what she saw caused her to say "oh" lief said "well look at all that stuff" and cal said "wow" what the three saw inside the storage room was pieces of armor, treasure chest with solid gold coins that are also around chest with gold belt,some clothes,a small silver shield and quite a few swords. "This must belong to all the travelers that were trapped and eaten by jin and jod"lief said and they heard a click signaling that the kitchen door was about to be unlocked.
Kitchen door then opened with the white monster jin infront and the brown monster jod behind her they saw everyone laying on the ground unconscious "looks as though they drank all the tea" jin said and jod replied "they're sleeping soundly" and they closed the door.
Everyone in the room got up they had pretended they were asleep. Jasmine said "what should we do" and lief spoke,"we have to pass thru the kitchen" and jasmine counter argue "we don't stand a chance against sorceress thaegen's children" he countered "it's better than doing nothing and being eaten alive". "But barda looks like he's almost unconscious" Jasmine concerned "you three go leave me behind" barda said " that's not going to happen" lief objected and cal replied" I owe you for saving my life barda i'm not leaving you behind". Then all of a sudden they here the bell ring"someone's out front" Jasmine said, then jin and jod walked out the front door "will run away while the two of them are preoccupied it's our only chance " lief said. Just then cal said,"hold on lief they tried to eat us i think we should get some compensations" and walked to the closet and open the door jasmine said "what are you doing cal?". He replied "just collecting the stuff in the closet baggie ala the stuff in the closet" and baggies mouth spewed four rainbow tentacles that grabbed all the stuff belonging to travelers that were trapped and eaten by jin and jod. As soon as the tentacles grabbed the stuff they worked their magic shrinking it down and pulling back to baggie "now we can leave" he said.

Our group took a look thru the door because barda was drowsey lief had to support him. "I'm sorry lief" barda said "don't worry about it" he replied lief and cal saw a glimpse on their right and saw a hay pile with a rope and metal bolt this means they kept a prisoner there. Jasmine had called out liefs name and waved here hand up and down signaling him to move it.
(Outside of jin and jods house)
The creature children of sorceress thaegen children jin and jod just stood their jin had a small ax in her right hand while jod had a pitchfork in his left hand. Our band started sneaking out of the house and they would've gotten away with it too until lief say the ralid man on the other side of the quicksand and he said"the ralid man".
Lief had blown their cover by shouting "its a trap dont come any closer theirs a pit of quicksand in front of you" that got jin and jods attention "oh thats just great"jasmine said "lief you idiot you just gave away our position" cal added. Jin and jod grew to the size of lief and jod spoke"those maggots were only pretending they were asleep" and jin added"how dare they trick us" and started chasing them.
They all ran behind the house but stuck her foot in quicksand pulling back "were surrounded by quicksand "lief said "it's useless" Barda quipped "we know those two monsters have to get out to visit their sorceress mother do theirs got to be away to get to the other side". Growling noises were heard " ya but until we figure it out, looks like we're going to have to fight " jin said "weve been looking forward to this feast" jod added"you wont escape" while they charged after them.
"Nows a good time for my creation" cal said he twisted the dial on his right side of the golden belt saying these word" for the glory of greatness daylight is mine to command" the belt shined lifting him up into the air then armor peices popped out of the belt surrounding him, and he was now in a big gold armor suit aproximatle nine feet. The other we're surprised his armor look exactly like gorls armor mostly because it is with some new features they will find out about.
They were about to fight but then all of a sudden jin and jod fot hit in the back of the heads with rocks "who was that" they both said thr perosn was the ralid man throwing another rock "the ralid man has come to save us" jasmine said "we saved his life now he's saving ours" lief added.
"We'll get you" jin said as she stood next to the ralid "how dare you interrupt our dinner"jod said as he stood oppisite of jin and they charged at him only for the ralid to dodge causing both jin and jod run into eachother temporarily knocking themselves out. Cal took this opportunity without any hesitation he extended his left arm forward in a fist and his arm shin split in two revealing a revolver launcher with about twenty blade vials surrounding his shin.
He then launched two of them at jin and jod as soon as the blade ends pierceed them the blades extracted pink blood until the vial handle was full. Cal activated his telekinesis power and pulled the vial blades out of jin and jod and the items headed back to him. As soon as they were six feet away he said "baggie ala two vial blades with blood samples" then two rainbow tentacle shiot out from his shoulder blades and grabbed them pulling them inside baggie.
"Wait a minute there's no mud on you how are you totally clean?" jasmine said "how did you get across the circle of quicksand?" barda added and the ralid pointed to a shrub stand surrounding a stone pillar with a stone button on it. The ralid pressed the button surprised lief as a light bridge that's slightly curvy apeared from one end to the other. "What is it?" jadmine said "its some kind of path that will take us to the other side" lief told and the ralid nodded while walking half way across the bridge.
" There must be one of these over there too" jasmine realized "he risked his life to come here to shiw us how to escape from jin and jod" lief said the ralid waved his hand then jin and jod started to come out of their knocked out state and started getting back up. "They'll be here very soon even if we get across i'm not sure we'll be able to lose them" barda said and the ralid did hand jesters saying there is another button "it looks like he's saying you are right Jasmine with the other device we might be able to close the bridge"lief said "you wanna trap jin and jod in their own quicksand" jasmine said "that's right you go on ahead" lief said and thats what jasmine did.
"Lief you should go to" barda said "you're in no condition to fight" lief talked back "if i can move i can fight boy" barda said "well you'll get your chance to fight cause here they come"cal spoke. Jin charger at lief and missed jod was attacking barda lief shouted "barda" and cut both jin and jods ax and pitch fork making them weaponless. The ralid man came back and lifted up barda onto his shoulders "hey" barda shouted "don't worry ralid people can carry up to ten times their own weight no where were we" lief said turning back to fight.
Jin said,"this is not the full extent of our abilities we are children thaegen" jod finished "you haven't seen anything yet". Then two grew and merged into a giant pink creature jins head on top with her right arm, jods head on the left with arm and had all their legs two for each side while still retaining the colors of their eyes and mouths.Lief ran "you're not going anywhere" jod said as his two tounges grabbed lief and pulled him back "at last we will eat you". But before the could do that cal in his armor swung his sword while saying " eat this" and cut off jods two tongues.
Lief ran and jasmine spoke"come on leif get across quick" they all notice cal wasn't running with lief "cal come on do you really think you can beat them?" Lief said and cal replies "I dont think i know" lifted up his right hand and said"release" and his armor disappeared returning him to his usual look.
He was stared down by jin and jod"how can someone like you stand against us?" they said in unison and he replied "you really don't recognize me do ya perhaps this will help hatter,baggy get inside the belt quick" and hatter popped of cals head removeing the mask jumped inside the belt with baggy. Jin and jod gasped "its you how did you evade us" they said "how is it they know cal? jasmine replied "in a few seconds your gonna see jin and jod ive been waiting a long time for payback SHAZAM".
A twilight flashed orb covered cal and when the twilight fadded what everyone saw surpirsed them especially jin and jod. In cals place stood a nine foot hairles orange grey cat creature with slightly toned muscle build, bright purple eyes, human hands and feet with claws and pads, cat ears on head and six small horns, black cat nose and finally a small tail. What surprised them most was baggy and hatter was gone and he still wore the golden belt"now I can start the payback for what you two and your entire family did to mine" cal said he lunged the attack. They punched at cal and missed he punched back he didn't miss then they saw our main group "you can't destroy our bridge" they said then trew the ax piece that grazed jasmines left arm "are you ok?" barda asked.
Just when they were about to launch the pitch fork at cal kree came back cawing at jin and jod"what are you doing? You stupid bird" they said "its kree" Jasmine said excited with fili "lief cal nows our chance come on" barda said lief made across but cal not so much. Kree was busy distracting jin and jod "how dare you get out of our way" they said and swatted kree away with the pitchfork piece and cal used his agility to jump up catching kree gently with his claws and made it all the way to the group.
Soon as the bridge disappeared jin and jod were swallowed up by their own quickssand trap struggling and squirming crying as they were pulled down only a few small bubbles appeared telling that jin and jod are no more. "Oh kree you saved us" jasmine said as cal handed him to her "are you hurt?" lief had said in concern "don't worry lief im alright you didn't go home you naughty boy now your poor wing is hurt" he cawed sadly "don't worry kree look at this you'll be well enough to fly again in no time at all" she said showing the vial holding lily's nectar and she uncorked it giving a drop of nectar to kree healing him to fly again.
"Thank goodness" she said "let me use the nectar to heal your shoulder you've been hurt badly as well" lief concerned "we need to save the nectar for important thing I have ointment my wounds not that serious" jasmine said grbbing ointment out of her pouch and had lief rub some on her.
They all had turned to cal in his creature form" so why are you like this cal?" lief said "i'm sure all of you have a lot of questions but now is not the time and place shazam" and with the flash of twilight sphere he returned to how he first met them with hatter sticking out of baggy. "I will explain everything to all of you when we reach to my original home where we will be safe for the whole story i promise".
"Barda how are you feeling" lief said "I'll be fine thanks"he replied the ralid man was drawing with a stick on the ground "whats he drawing?" lief said "character of the ralidin tribe" Barda said "he says his name is manus" Lief talked " hello manus". "It seems before the grey guards caught him he was enslaved and tourtured by jin and jod" lief realized "in that corner thats how he new to get around the quicksand".
"He says he wants to thank us"barda said " you have saved me twice now my life is yours" barda said for manus "the reason I am thanking you in writing is because long ago theagan placed a spell on all ralid people from then on we could not speak". This shocked lief, jasmine and cal "out of spiet and jealousy created the lake of tears from the beauty of Dor the ralids of that time raised their voices against her she put a stop to it there have been no words spoken in ralidin for a hundread years" barda said for manis. Lief gasped turned around and said "im sure theagan will find out what happened to her children soon enough" barda got up "we should leave this place right away" he said " well goodbye manis you take care" lief said "and don't you get caught again" barda added.
Kree then cawed "that's enough kree im sure manis will be careful" jasmine said " hey kree you were a real hero back there and cal thank you for helping us i feel safer having a friend like them along i think barda feels the same" lief said " yes i do" barda confirmed fili jumped up and humed in agreement " i think thats three to on" lief said cal added "he did help distract jin and jod successfully" jasmine said "I guess it can't be helped then i still don't think its a good idea but everyone else wants you to come" and kree landed on her right arm as a perch.
Lief touched his belt ' we still only have one gem but now together as friends we can hurry and find the remaining six', "alright lets get going" he said and everyone walked away from the spot. What they didn't notice was two glowing specter orbs popping up where jin and jod perished.
