Plot: What if the Wayne family was born in the MCU? What if Tony Stark wasn't the only rich crime fighter in the city? Batman/Natasha Romanoff
Scene 1:
"It's good to see you again," Bruce smiled as he walked away from the third conversation he had been pulled into in the last fifteen minutes. It was tiring, keeping up this happy playboy persona. It was irritating for him, rubbing elbows and talking with these people, some of whom he didn't know, others he wasn't interested in and the rest he knew should be put behind bars. He knew a lot more about these people than what they were likely comfortable with.
Still, it was part of his mission, and he persevered.
"Master Wayne," Alfred's voice spoke from his earpiece. "I've picked up some radio chatter, apparently the guards are going to be increased. Someone had tried to spike a drink, and one thing led to another. I'd be on your guard."
"Understood," Bruce whispered under his breath before heading over to the drinks table. He had barely picked up a drink when he felt someone stop next to him.
"Busy day?" She asked, her voice pressing against his ears in the best way.
Turning to his right he saw one of the most attractive women he had ever had the pleasure of meeting, she wore a dark black dress with red trimmings that accentuated every perfect inch of her body, her red hair curled down to just past her hair. Her sea-green eyes seemed locked on him.
"You could say that," He said pleasantly enough. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss..." He trailed off, waiting for her.
"You can call me Natalie," She smiled at him.
Scene 2:
Tony frowned deeply as he looked at the screens in front of him, looking at all of the potential members of this superhero team that Fury wanted to set up. Firstly, there was Captain America, his father's old obsession. Apparently, he had been found frozen in ice and was alive. While Tony's feelings about the guy were mixed at best, he found himself unable to deny that the man would be a valuable asset, no matter what time he was in. Strong, fast and he survived a war, what else do you need? Then there was Thor, as in the 'God of Thunder' Thor.
Tony had long since given up the very idea of Thor as a silly story, told from a time long past. But it turned out he was real, he was real and alive and blowing up small towns apparently. His last official reported sighting - at least according to Shield - was when he fought some giant, metal robot thing in a small town and nearly levelled the whole place. He even had his mystical hammer with him, Mjolnir, if Tony remembered the name right. He couldn't help but want to ask the thunder god if he could borrow the thing for a moment to study it. For some reason, he couldn't help but suspect that the immortal wouldn't be overly fond of that.
The most interesting addition so far - at least as far as Tony was concerned - was Bruce Banner, AKA The Incredible Hulk. Bruce Banner was a man that Tony knew to be one of the best and brightest minds of this generation, maybe even of all time. Tony was sure that even without his alter ego, Bruce Banner would have been known throughout history just for his work in various scientific fields. Bruce Banner was apparently involved in some government projects, something then went incredibly wrong...or incredibly right. And the man found himself able to transform into a giant green monster that somebody had dubbed 'The Hulk'. Banner had all but dropped off the grid, for a normal person he'd be incredibly hard to track.
But Tony was far from normal, he knew that Banner was immigrating to and from various third and second-world countries, trying to keep away from the army. General Ross was also tracking Banner, but Tony highly doubted that that man was tracking him for any good reason. He either wanted Banner to become the army's new personal attack dog or become very, very dead. Banner was a great asset, even without the Hulk. The Hulk wasn't much of a brain, but he more than made up for that in the physical strength department. There was not much footage or records available on the Hulk, but Tony knew that he could throw heavy machinery with ease and was at the very least able to destroy small buildings with minimal effort. Though, Tony was sure that the Hulk was much, much stronger than what they anticipated.
Next was Clint Barton, an agent of Shield. Looking through his details, Tony could tell that he was not your average man or even agent and he was not to be trifled with unless you're half as crazy as Tony is. The man was a master of all forms of long-range combat, including various types of guns, knives, throwing weapons and even the good old bow and arrow. There was certainly nothing wrong with having a long-range specialist on the team. Following Barton was another agent of Shield, Natasha Romanoff.
Tony had met her before, but still found himself surprised as he read her shield file. A master in more martial arts than Tony thought possible for one person. She had a long and quite frankly horrifying history, she used her great beauty and looks to pass off as nothing more than a pretty face. But she most definitely was not. Well...she was...but she simply wasn't just a pretty face. The woman was exactly like her code name suggested, a Black Widow. She'd draw you in and kill you off with ease. Like Barton, she was a master of various weapons, though Barton held the edge in long range. Not only a combat specialist but also one of the best spies to ever come out of shield.
And then there was the final member that Fury wanted to induct into the team, the Batman.
There was not much known about the Batman, at first many though him to be nothing more than an urban legend. But eventually, too many broken bones pointed to someone being out there, and too many witnesses became to hard to ignore. Many thought that he was an unnatural being, a mystical force of nature. Tony wasn't quite as convinced. Some liked the work, some thought the Bat could go further. He broke bones, but never took lives, as confusing as that was for a 'creature of the night'. Tony hadn't fully ruled out him being a vampire.
"Sir," Jarvis spoke up. "Miss Potts has contacted me and instructed me to inform you that Mr Bruce Wayne is waiting downstairs for your three pm appointment."
Scene 3:
"Sir," Alfred spoke up, a dazed look on his face. "This is vibranium, pure vibranium. What exactly do you plan to do with this?"
"It's time to even up the playing field, Alfred," Bruce said with a wicked grin.
