Chapter 13:

*static*

"-Where have you been *static* I've sent for you a month ago, and you haven't updated me on *static*"

"Yes, yes, your right M- *static* -overed something wonderful. You see, I have stumbled upon a curious device on the *static* It would be very beneficial for me to, -uh, Konoha to *static*"

"That's a joke? Right? There's no way that's where you went!"

"Kukukukuku, oh my simple-minded friend, this is just as absurd as raising the dead. Speaking of, I've had an idea for-"

*static*

Present:

Kakashi kicked in the door to Tazuna's house, "GO, GO, GO," he yelled towards the people behind him. Sakura ran in as fast as she could, tears running down her fear stricken face. Haku ran in as well, holding the limp body of Satsuki over his shoulder. As he ran inside, he fell down, unceremoniously dropping the Uchiha. "CLOSE IT CLOSE IT NOW!" Kakashi slammed the door shut, but it was stopped from fully closing due to an arm that reached inside.

YEA! YEAA! YEAAA! YEAAAAAA! YEAAAAAAAAAA!

At the door was what used to be a resident of the wave. His mottled skin was gray from the infection that had taken over him. Various parts of his bones and organs were showing, but it didn't stop it from attacking. Desperately attempting to push the door open and let it's self inside. Haku stumbled towards the door before stabbing the last of his senbon needles into the eye of the aggressor. It let out a pain groan before it's red eyes faded to black and went limp, allowing them to shut the door behind them.

Sakura was curled in a fetal position, hugging her close to her chest and sobbing quietly. Kakashi and Haku both stayed against the door using their bodies as a barricade. They slowly fell and slid down against the door due to exhaustion. So far, they seemed to be safe for the time being, Haku limped his way towards the unconscious Uchiha. "Please," he said to himself and looked over her. "You were able to stop yourself, weren't you?" Kakashi asked, sounding almost hopeful.

Sakura looked over towards the silver haired ninja in confusion and fear. However, Haku knew he was addressing him. He continued his look over before releasing a sigh of relief as a notice where his senbon needles hit. "I was, thank Kami! I tried to redirect my aim towards the same spot I hit Zabuza to fake his death." He cut off the ends of the senbon before gently removing the rest of it by pushing it fully through. Kakashi let out a small, grateful chuckle at the news. "D-does.. does t-that mean?" Sakura was able to ask between choked sobs. Haku finished wrapping up the bandages around Satsuki's neck before answering. "Yes, she'll live. Albeit, she won't be up for a while. Kakashi pondered the information before he reached into his bag and pulled out a glowing blue pill before throwing it towards Haku.

He caught it and looked at it curiously before forcing it down Satsuki's throat. At first, nothing happened, and then she instantly sat up and took a huge gasp of air before coughing furiously. Sakura ran towards her before wrapping her arms around the Uchiha. "Thank Kami, you're alive. I was so devastated about your death!" This obviously brought up a lot of questions. "My death? What? How did we get back here and-" she stopped as she took in the people before her. They each looked awful. They were covered in mud scratches, and her sensei had a lot of blood on him along with...

"Who are you?" She asked Haku. She had a feeling she knew who this was considering he wore what the hunter nin was wearing. Just a lot more tattered bloodied than she remembered. "I'm Haku, I was forced to fight you against my will. Your teammate snapped me out of it. Naruto, I believe he was called." He stated while she turned her head around the room. "Where's Naruto!?" She demanded after she saw that he was nowhere to be found. They all looked at each other, unsure of how to begin to explain the shitshow that had occurred on the bridge. Kakashi shushed everyone before an explanation could be given. His face was deadly serious, which is why no one voiced their opinions.

"wraaaaggggghhhhhhaaaaaa"

The sound of a hiss was heard, and they heard something scrapping across the floor. Tears streamed down harder down Sakura's face while she covered her mouth as a way to muffle her sobs that began to intensify. Haku's face he paled, and he instantly started to reach for a kunai in his bag. His face was that of shock before his nerves steeled, and he kept his hand in the bag. Satsuki wasn't able to utter a syllable before Kakashi covered her mouth and put a finger over his lip before point towards the living room. His uncovered sharingan made him look all the more intimidating. The sound of something tumbling down the stairs was heard before they saw the red eyes glowing in the dark. Satsuki sated, confused as she couldn't tell what they were. They were low to the floor and were moving slowly towards them. The Uchiha was shocked as one the movine eyes got closer to the light of the window, they saw it. Sakura screamed at the sight while Satsuki stared on in horror. Kakashi's eyes were wide, and he uttered a single word. "I-Inari?"

Inari's skin was a rotten gray, and his clothes were torn. He skkn was falling off in certain parts of his body, exposing his tendons and bones. His left leg and right forearm were missing, causing him to crawl on a bloodied hand, which was missing skin on a few fingers, showing only bone. His face was a mess. His lips were gone, exposing his decaying teeth as his jaw made biting motions towards them. Half of his face was hanging from loose flaps of skin. Almost everyone was frozen in shock, unable to react to the sight of what used to be an innocent child. A brat for sure, but an innocent brat nonetheless. However, one wasn't as shocked. He recently fought his way out of Gatou's old mansion against many of those things. So he pulled his hand out of his bag quickly.

*BANG BANG*

Haku fired off 2 shots from his new weapon. Killing what was once Inari. The team watched as he lay limp and the light faded from the eyes. Satsuki turned to him immediately. "What the hell was that!?" Everyone stared at Haku as he pointed it towards the room. "A 'Colt 1911' and don't ask what that is either since I don't know what causes this." He gestured towards the corpse of Inari. Sakura, now looking more pale than Satsuki, continued to stare at the child's corpse. "I'm sorry." She whispered as she cried. Kakashi stared at Haku with a hand in his kunai pouch. "So where exactly did you get that. He pointed towards the gun in Haku's hand. "I'm not sure it just appeared in my bag when.. this whole mess started." Kakashi didn't seem to believe the boy. He was ready to push the matter further until a sound of glass shattering was heard. Sakura screamed as the windows were starting to be broken into. Satsuki saw that it was people breaking into the home. However, she noticed they all had the same horrific look of decay that the body of Inari displayed. Rotted decayed skin, missing lips exposing gnashing teeth, multiple wounds on the body exposing everyone to the different muscles bone and intestines.

Haku pointed his weapon and started firing again. Another 6 bangs were heard until the weapon made a clicking sound. One of the undead fell, however, the next couple of shots only seemed to inconvenience the other 2 behind it. Haku started to pat himself down in search of a replacement for the "magazine," as Zabuza called it. If the weapon could appear, then that means he should've gotten spares, right? Sakura screamed again as more undead came crawling through the window. More of them came from other rooms that had been broken into. This time, however, Kakashi reacted and threw multiple kunai hitting his targets. However, while some went down in a single blow, a couple of them continued stumbling towards them with kunais now sticking out of their chest and arms. Satsuki still remained frozen in place. Unable to process what was happening. She watched as these corpses broke through the windows, not caring about their well-being as they climbed through the shards would tear them open. She was broken from her thoughts as Kakashi grabbed her and Sakura and moved into the next room. They ran up the stairs slowly, followed by the shamblers behind. Once they reached the top, Kakashi dropped the 2 girls and reached for a kunai only to realize he was out. 'No! The fight with Zabuza and the run here caused me to run out of kunai!' He panicked as he searched for a means of defense when suddenly he felt something unfamiliar. Removing his hand from the bag, he saw he was holding the same weapon the boy Haku was using. There was an engraving on the side that said "Colt 1911" leaving him more bewildered as he didn't remember taking this from the kid.

*BANG BANG BANG*

"Wraaaggoooowwww"

He looked up and saw that Haku still had his weapon, so he didn't get it from him. 'What the hell?" 5 more bangs, along with the sounds of 2 bodies dropping, were heard before Kakashi started studying the way Haku used it. He'd pulled what looked like the trigger, which caused the mechanism to fire a tiny metal round ball, the top part of it sliding back with each shot. He continued to study it as it got stuck in the pulled back position. Haku pushed a button, and a metal clip felll out as Haku took out another metal clip from his bag, inserted it, pulled the top part back further, and it was good to go. The Sharingan made it easier for him to learn it quickly and understand the gist of the weapon, so after 3 seconds of studying Haku. It was his turn. He pointed the weapon and *BANG* Kakashi wasn't expecting the amount of force it would shoot back. While it wasn't a lot, it wasn't expected, so he did it again with a better grip.

*BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG CLICK*

The weapon stopped firing. Kakashi checked his bag once more and saw that he had 4 metal clips that inserted into the weapon. He quickly used the same method he watched Haku use to make it functional again. Both Kakashi and Haku kept firing into the small horde that was climbing up the stair. Tripping over each other and falling back as they did. The 2 girls just continued to watch in both fear and confusion at the situation that was happening around them. Satsuki was shaking until she reached into her kunai pouch. She had to do something! "I have to find Naruto!" Was the motivation she gave herself to reach into her kunai pouch. She looked back up and noticed that Kakashi and Haku were slowly being overrun. She witnessed as one ran up the stairs surprisingly fast for a corpse. It grabbed Kakashi, trying to sink its teeth into him. Haku was being pushed against the wall as he tried his best to keep the thing at arms length while not biting him in turn. She shakily took aim and threw it at the one at Haku. If she missed and hit him, there was no loss for her. Surprisingly, it hit its mark and killed the one attacking Haku. However, something different happened with this one.

"KABOOM!"

A demonic voice was heard in everyone's head, followed by a bright white flash, blinding everyone for a second before the one that was attacking Kakashi caught fire, and its head exploded. Curiously enough, the fire that burned didn't spread. It remained contained to the corpse. Not even spreading out when it fell onto the floor. They looked as the rest of the undead following them stopped moving and started catching fire and exploding. Like the previous one, they too didn't affect the surrounding areas as they burst into flames. "W-what just happened?" Satsuki asked softly, summarizing everyone's thoughts. Haku looked out a nearby window and saw that the rest that followed them back started exploding as well. Soon enough, the coast was clear. "I think we're safe, for now." Haku stated

"Where's Naruto and the bridge builder!" Stasuki asked as she still had no clue what happened. Kakashi led them back to the rooms that they were staying at. "I'll explain as we pack. We need to leave now! The mission is a failure, Tazuna was killed, and Naruto... he split off from us at one point, but I'm sure he's fine." Kakashi explained quickly he gathered his supplies and prepared to head back to Konoha. 'The suspected deposit is now definitely confirmed. I just hope we get to live to tell the tale."

"Tazuna is dead?" Satsuki asked as she turned to Sakura. She still had tear stains on her face, but she seemed to be more in control as she, too, was packing her bags. "Y-yeah, I'm not sure h-how he did it. It seemed like he pointed at him, and then he was dead. He killed Zabuza and Tsunami as well.." Sakura muttered out as she finished packing and went to get Naruto's stuff. Satsuki was processing this information as Haku finished off for Sakura while looking out the window for more enemies on the way. "We didn't have much time to react as he used what looked like one of these," he gestured towards his weapon. "Then after that, it just went to hell. Those things started appearing and as for your friend. He split off from us to hold them back. The look in his eyes, though." Haku trailed off. Before the Uchiha could inquire further, Kakashi finished up packing for himself and Satsuki. He handed Satsuki her bag and then seemed to ponder something. He looked over to the boy before looking back at his students. "Check your bags for anything strange or new. Now!"

This confused the to genin, but they did. After a short search, their looks of confusion confirmed Haku's story. He watched as both pulled out an L shaped weapon with the engraving of "Colt 1911" embedded on it. "What the hell?" Satsuki mumbled as she inspected the weapon along with Sakura. "Alright then, pay attention.." Kakashi proceeded to explain how the weapon worked and how to reload it. It was a surprising, simple to use mechanism, even if he had no clue how it was made. 'Hopefully, they can get these back to Konoha for further study.' The 2 girls seemed to have understood how to use it as they nodded their heads in understanding. As they were about to leave, Satsuki noticed something. "Was that always there?" She pointed towards the wall, which had a chalk drawing on it. "Yeah, look, there's another one there." Sakura pointed to the other side of the room, which had a different but similar chalk drawing. Haku stared at the drawings in shock as he walked over to them. "How?"

"You recognize them?" Kakashi said as he looked at Haku. He covered his sharingan eye as he was low on chakra. Haku said nothing as he ran his hand alongside the drawing feeling for something. Before the others could ask what he was doing, he pulled something OUT of the chalk drawing. "Did he just..?" Satsuki asked, and Sakura answered, "I'm not so sure.." Kakshi said nothing but had similar thoughts as well. It was a long stick like thing. While inspecting, he found another button. He pushed it, which caused the stick to fold down, exposing 2 holes with what looked like golden caps inside. He closed it back up and looked it over once more, and found another engraving on it. "Rottweil Olympia?" He pointed the weapon in a way that he felt was right and fired.

*BOOM BOOM*

Haku was thrown back from the force of the weapon. He barely managed to stay on his feet. They looked towards the wall he was pointing at and were shocked. The wall was practically destroyed, and the walls behind it were covered in a bunch of tiny holes that spread out the entire wall. "Uh, whoops?" Haku said sheepishly before he was yelled at. "You could've killed somebody!" Sakura yelled out, "I just wanted to see how it worked!" They started going back and forth while Kakashi inspected the other chalk drawing. Satsuki's attention was towards the window overlooking the nearby forest. Kakashi ran his hand alongside the chalk drawing as well, and he felt what he thought was a handle. His eyes showed nothing, but his hand was telling a different story. He gripped it tightly and pulled. Sure enough, like magic, another weapon appeared in his hand the he noticed that while it roughly looked like the one Haku had it had a metal clip sticking out from underneath and it had a lever to pull back. Upon further inspection, he found the engraving that named the weapons name: Rifle M14. Sakura was in aw at the sight of these new weapons that appeared from drawings and was about to ask how it was possible until she heard her teammate speak. "Uh guys... I think we have a huge problem." Her voice was high pitched as she pointed out the window.

They ran towards the window and immediately understood the fear. Outside coming from the woods was another horde of corpses. However, walking amongst the horde was what really scared them. While every other corpse was stumbling and tripping about, the walking revived corpse of Zabuza Momochi seemed to have more fluid movements and wasn't bothered dragging and swinging the Kubikiribōchō. It raised it, sword pointing it at the house, and roared.

Another chapter finished! took longer than i thought it would but I finished. I saw a review that someone left for me suggesting I change the description to something more normal.
