Suddenly, the female secretary shimmered like waves, quickly transforming into a person covered in blue scales. Her shapely figure was fully accentuated, giving off an alluring yet unsettling vibe.
Ye Hai was slightly surprised and blurted out, "Mystique?"
Mystique smiled and said, "It seems Dr. Ye knows a bit about us mutants. That's right; I am Mystique."
"What an incredible shapeshifting ability," Ye Hai remarked in admiration.
He curiously examined the different aspects of Mystique's form, his eyes sparkling with interest as he was fascinated by her shapeshifting genes.
Mystique felt uneasy under his gaze, fidgeting a little as she said, "Dr. Ye, you really are a research fanatic. No wonder our leader wants us to invite you to join our organization."
"Is it because of my knowledge in gene fusion?"
Ye Hai's gaze remained fixed on Mystique, contemplating whether he should seize the opportunity and draw some blood from her for his research.
"Yes, our leader thinks you have great talent in this area, so you are quite fortunate to have been chosen, heh heh."
With a light laugh, Mystique's body shimmered again, and the blue scales vanished, transforming back into the female secretary.
"Ding!"
The elevator stopped at the underground garage, and the doors opened to reveal a tall man. He had a wild mane of white hair, a broad face twisted in a snarl, and a pair of pitch-black eyes that bore into Ye Hai, as if harboring a deep-seated grudge.
Ye Hai felt a chill as he was scrutinized; this unknown man seemed powerful, possibly at level three.
Mystique reassured him, "His name is Sabretooth. Don't worry; his expression is always like that. As long as you don't resist, he won't harm you."
Sabretooth? Ye Hai's heart raced at the name. Victor Creed, also known as Sabretooth, was the half-brother of Wolverine and possessed the same healing ability. He surpassed Wolverine in strength, speed, and reflexes.
The mutated healing ability was something Ye Hai had long desired. With such a power, he could achieve immortality; who could resist that?
"Ding! Mission triggered: Research the perfect fusion between regenerative genes and ordinary cells. Mission duration: One month. Success reward: 10,000 scientific points."
"Ding! Mission triggered: Research the perfect fusion between shapeshifting genes and ordinary cells. Mission duration: Two months. Success reward: 10,000 scientific points."
The missions were announced, and the enticing rewards made Ye Hai eager to obtain blood samples from these mutants for his research.
Suppressing his excitement, Ye Hai looked around and grinned, "Are there any other mutants coming? Bring them out!"
Mystique gave him a peculiar look, wondering why this human seemed completely unfazed by their presence and appeared almost excited; indeed, scientists could not be treated like regular people.
"There are no others; it's just us two. I think our presence is already quite sincere, right, Dr. Ye?" Mystique laughed lightly, while the imposing Sabretooth remained silent, his expression unchanged.
In truth, another mutant was hidden nearby—the one who tampered with the elevator system—but Mystique thought it unnecessary to mention that technical mutant.
"Oh, what a shame; only two have arrived," Ye Hai shook his head in regret.
"What!" Mystique looked at him in surprise, puzzled by his words.
"Because I like mutants."
Ye Hai chuckled and reached out toward Mystique and Sabretooth, effortlessly grabbing hold of Mystique. She was caught firmly and rendered immobile.
His other hand, however, encountered resistance. Although he managed to seize Sabretooth by the neck, Sabretooth was unfazed. With long claws, he swiftly slashed toward Ye Hai's arm.
Ye Hai was slightly startled, but his level four brain capacity granted him a hundred tons of strength, too much for Sabretooth to contend with. He merely pushed his arm forward, sending Sabretooth crashing into the wall like a cannonball. The reinforced wall cracked under the impact, and Sabretooth's massive frame was embedded deep within it, rendering him unconscious.
"You're a mutant too?" Mystique exclaimed in terror.
Ye Hai smiled, "You got it right."
Mystique calmed her nerves and forced herself to appear composed, saying, "Dr. Ye, now that you're a mutant, we are brothers. Would you join us in the mutant brotherhood? I think our leader would be thrilled to meet such a powerful mutant."
Ye Hai shook his head, "I'm afraid not, Miss. I have absolutely no interest in anti-human activities. However, as a scientist, I'd be open to collaborating on any intriguing research."
"Of course!" Mystique said, delighted by the prospect of working with such a powerful mutant, which would benefit their brotherhood.
Mystique then casually asked, "So, would you like to meet our leader?"
"I'd prefer not to meet Magneto just yet," Ye Hai responded, shaking his head slightly as he took out his phone and dialed Gwen.
"Gwen, bring some syringes to the underground level of the building."
The request for syringes was, of course, for drawing blood from Mystique and Sabretooth.
