Zack was at work and wouldn't return until even and Kimberly found herself alone in their shared apartment for what seemed like the millionth time. She could easily pass her GED and prepare for college in the fall, but images of Billy haunted her even though he was dead and it made her unable to do anything. Zack had recommended counseling, but Kimberly was afraid to be seen as crazy.
She hadn't been to see Skull in a few days, Kimberly thought mournfully as she gazed out her bedroom window and saw the RADBUG, which Billy 's dad had given to her as a keepsake, parked in the space that she and Zack had been assigned by the manager. Kimberly felt guilty for avoiding Skull, yet she also felt guilty for being in love with him; her love was genuine and had nothing to do with the promise…
"I'm sorry I'm not keeping my promise, Billy," Kimberly whispered as she turned away from the window and saw the picture of her standing with Rocky, Zack, Adam, Billy, Jason, Laura, Tommy, and Malcolm on the wall next to a picture of a younger her and Billy working on the RADBUG together at his house.
Tears filled Kimberly's eyes as a thought occurred to her; Billy obviously created the Turbo Powers, but why hadn't he given any to her? She had been a Ranger before and could have helped the others better than Laura had. Laura's slowness had slowed them down and made them unable to save Billy….
"Kimberly?"
Startled, Kimberly looked around and her eyes widened as she saw Billy's reflection in her mirror, "Billy, I was just thinking about you," she said in a shocked voice as she walked over to the mirror. "I miss you."
"You've got to let me go," Billy replied in a hollow voice. "I gave Laura guardianship of the Turbo Powers because I didn't want them to be lost when the Power Chamber was attacked and I knew that…"
Kimberly's eyes widened in anger, "You gave the Turbo Powers to Laura?" she snapped. "Why not me?"
There was silence and the mirror was suddenly empty. Kimberly was quiet for a moment and then, letting out a roar of frustration, she threw her jewellery box at the mirror causing it to shatter.
Tears streamed down Kimberly's face as she picked up a large piece of the mirror; she had to find out from Laura why she didn't use the Turbo Powers to save Billy even though she could have done so.
A quick look at the clock told Kimberly that Laura would still be in school and that was the best place to approach her for conversation. She could go there under the pretense of retrying for her GED.
"Doctor Oliver?"
Dr. Oliver looked up from the paperwork on his desk and saw Laura standing at the door with her arms wrapped around the oversized hoodie she was wearing along with jeans and sneakers, "Laura, shouldn't you be in class?" he asked in a concerned voice seeing the distraught look on her face. "What's wrong?"
"My stomach is hurting really bad," Laura replied in a pain-filled voice. "It's been like that for a while."
Dr. Oliver nodded and Laura silently slipped into the office and closed the door, "It's been a miracle that I was able to serve as the Blue Turbo Ranger, but even after not taking any of the Zeo Powers, my body's never fully healed from what happened in Los Angeles," she explained in a pained voice. "I haven't had any seizures in nearly a year, but I'm still not fully healed. The fight with Rita made it worse and…"
"Okay," Dr. Oliver replied gently as he got to his feet. "I'll drive you to the emergency room and you can get checked out. I don't understand why you never had your injuries repaired when you first came…?"
Laura sighed, "They said I would be fine if I took it easy," she replied anxiously. "I didn't mean to let it…"
A vision suddenly flashed through Laura's mind and she saw a figure enter the Power Chamber, capture Zordon into a locked capsule with the help of a sword, and teleport out again, "Zordon," Laura said in an anxious voice as she held out her Turbo Morpher and was about to use it when she felt intense pain.
"Laura?" Dr. Oliver said in a concerned voice as Laura cringed and sank down to the floor. "Talk to me."
Swallowing hard, Laura scooted back against the wall and Dr. Oliver quickly picked up his phone and dialled 9-1-1 and he also took the Turbo Morpher from Laura's hand and quickly hid it in his pocket.
"The Power Chamber," Zhane said in a heavy voice as he slashed the metal door open with the sword that Astronema had given him and stared at the command area. "This is where the Power Rangers…?"
His face crinkling in both surprise and disgust, Zhane entered the Power Chamber and was confused to see that everything was powered down and Zordon was nowhere to be found, "Zordon, I know you are here," he said in a menacing voice as he spotted the time warp tube and walked over to it. "Come out."
"I have been expecting you," Zordon replied as he appeared in the tube. "Have you come to…?"
Zhane snarled, "Enough!" he snapped as he waved his hand and a capsule appeared in his hand, "I have been ordered to take you to power the dying Dark Spectre at the far edge of a distant galaxy."
"You are not evil, Zhane," Zordon replied calmly. "Your home and friends were destroyed by Divatox…"
Zhane's eyes widened, "I don't remember anything before waking up in Astronema's lab," he replied in a mystified voice. "She told me that you destroyed my home and killed the prince I loyally served…"
"Prince Andros was sent back into space and is safe," Zordon replied. "You do not need to do this."
Zhane hesitated and Astronema suddenly appeared in the Power Chamber, "Well done, Zhane!" she said in an evil voice as she looked at Zordon. "Well, well, Zordon. I haven't seen you in a while…"
"I believe you almost shared Rita's fate," Zordon replied tonelessly. "You do not have to do this."
Astronema howled in anger and grabbed the container from Zhane, "Put Zordon into the container and let's get out of here before the Power Rangers are alerted to our presence!" she snapped. "Now!"
"I have questions," Zhane replied as he set the sword on the floor. "I would like some answers…"
Astronema snarled, picked up the sword, and aimed it at Zordon's time warp tube. She fired a laser shot at the tube and Zordon promptly transferred into the container, leaving the tube empty and dormant.
"I should have done this alone!" Astronema screamed as she slashed the sword at Zhane. "Take that?"
As Zhane fell to the floor with his face screwed up in pain, Astronema teleported out of the Power Chamber with Zordon trapped in the container. A manic cackle filled the now powerless chamber.
"I should have never listened," Zhane whispered in an anxious voice as he struggled to stay conscious.
The Power Chamber suddenly filled with light and Dimitria stood there, "Zhane, I assure you that Andros is alive and well," she whispered as she waved her arms. "Now you will join him and recover."
Zhane, unfortunately, couldn't hear her and allowed himself to drift into unconsciousness as Dimitria's power engulfed him and teleported his injured body out of the Power Chamber to safety.
"Alpha, it is time," Dimitria spoke softly, pained that she couldn't do anything to stop Zordon's capture.
Talking and movement filled Rocky's ears, but he remained sitting at the table in the school foyer to see how long it would take before his lost his will to be at school. He had woken up in the hospital at four in the morning and had phoned Adam, begging him to come get him and take him to school that day.
After talking it over with Dr. Oliver, Adam had reluctantly taken Dr. Oliver's truck to the hospital that morning and had signed Rocky out for school. When they had gotten to school, however, Rocky hadn't been able to bring himself to go to class and had forced Adam to go to class and take notes for him.
"Mister DeSantos?"
Rocky looked up and was surprised to see Mr. Caplan standing there with a concerned expression on his face and he could see Adam lingering nearby looking nervous, "Mister Park here tells me that you decided to come to school today," Mr. Caplan stated in a gentle voice. "How are you holding up?"
"Between my family's death and the cancer, I'm not sure," Rocky replied softly. "I'm surviving…"
Mr. Caplan nodded and Rocky sighed, "Detective Stone helped me arrange everything for the services since my grandparents are too frail to travel," Rocky stated softly. "They phoned me last night…"
"If there's anything Angel Grove High can do for you, let me know," Mr. Caplan said gently, his heart going out to the soon to be high school graduate who had been dealt a horrible double tragedy.
Rocky nodded and suddenly, Mr. Caplan noticed an ambulance parked outside the school, "What on earth?" he asked in a concerned voice as Dr. Oliver suddenly came down the hallway with a concerned looking paramedic. "Doctor Oliver, would you kindly explain why the paramedics are here?"
"Laura Hammond came to my office and said she wasn't feeling well," Dr. Oliver replied calmly, not at all put off by Mr. Caplan's demeanor. "Mister Lee Scott and his partner came and checked Laura over and gave her some fluids, but she's resting in my office for now. After school, I'll take her up to emergency."
Mr. Caplan's eyes narrowed, but he nodded, "Justin?" Rocky asked in a confused voice. "What is he…?"
Dr. Oliver and Mr. Caplan turned just in time to see Thomas come into the high school with a sheepish looking Justin walking in front of him, "Justin, you're supposed to be in school," Dr. Oliver stated gently.
"I overheard Adam talking to Rocky on the phone last night and I wanted to see how Rocky's doing," Justin replied in a nervous voice. "I know I'm supposed to be at school, but I was super worried."
Mr. Caplan closed his eyes and Dr. Oliver sighed, "We'll talk about this at home, all right?" he said in a gentle, but very firm voice. "Just go down to my office and keep Mister Lee Scott and Laura company."
"Come on, Justin," Adam said in a gentle voice as he walked over to the younger boy.
Suddenly, a scream filled the halls and it was followed by glass shattering, "Laura!" Rocky said in an alarmed voice as he got to his feet and bolted down the hall before anyone could stop him.
"Mister DeSantos!" Mr. Caplan shouted in an anxious voice as Dr. Oliver ran after Rocky.
Mr. Caplan's shouting alarmed several students and a small group of them, including Tommy, Jason, Malcolm, Katherine, and Tanya, gathered in the foyer to see what all the commotion was about.
Wide-eyed and terrified of being cut by the glass shard that Kimberly held, Laura had no choice other than to follow her out to the RADBUG that was parked beside the curb, "I want you to take me to the Power Chamber and show me where Billy gave you the Turbo Powers," Kimberly said anxiously.
Swallowing hard, Laura nearly gagged as Kimberly handed her the keys, "You drive us there," Kimberly said in an anxious voice as they reached the RADBUG. "I have to know where he gave you the powers."
Terror filled Laura's heart, "Kim, Billy's dead and nothing is going to bring him back," she replied in a concerned voice, wondering if Kimberly was having a breakdown. "I'm not going to drive us there."
"I wish you had died instead of Billy," Kimberly hissed in an anxious voice. "Just get in the car."
Silently reminding herself that Kimberly could hurt her if she really wanted to, Laura silently got behind the wheel and said nothing when Kimberly got in beside her, "Just drive until I tell you to stop," Kimberly said in an emotional voice as tears filled her eyes. "I don't know where to go, just away from here."
As Laura started the car, she caught sight of Rocky, Justin, and Dr. Oliver all watching with horror from the safety of the school. Unsure if she would get out of this situation unharmed, Laura silently tapped a small code into her communicator that would signal Zordon to give her Turbo powers to another.
"Laura, please, can we go?" Kimberly asked in an anxious voice as she set the glass on the dashboard.
Nodding, Laura shifted the car into gear and offered a silent prayer for Ashley's safety as she drove off.
"I couldn't do anything," Thomas explained in an upset voice. "The shard was against Laura's neck…"
Jason nodded and put a reassuring arm around his father while Malcolm brought a small chair across the small room where he, Malcolm, their father, and Detective Stone were all sitting while AGPD detectives examined the damage Kimberly had done to Dr. Oliver's office, "Here, Dad," Malcolm said in a quiet voice as he set the chair down in front of Thomas. "You should sit down to keep from going into…"
"Dear boy," Thomas replied in a gentle voice, smiling at Malcolm. "Give that foot of yours a rest.
Malcolm, however, remained standing even though his walking cast was aching, "I can't believe Kimberly of all people acted this way," Thomas said in an anguished voice. "I've known her for years and she's always been a good girl even after her parents got divorced. I don't understand why she…"
"Kimberly was kidnapped by a lot of people who were friends or family of Rita Repulsa, but the Power Rangers always managed to save her," Jason spoke up softly. "She was also really close to Billy…"
Suddenly, cackling filled the room and Jason and Malcolm recognized the cackling as belonging to Lord Zedd, "I gave Kimberly a mirror image of her beloved Billy and told her to find your stupid little blonde friend," Zedd's voice echoed through the entire school and city. "She is under my powerful spell and I'm going to use both of them to bring back my sweet Rita since the Power Rangers blasted her into…"
"If Rita's dead, there's no way to bring her back," Jason spoke in an uncertain voice. "Right?"
Zedd cackled, "The human spirit is a powerful thing and it can be used to perform the most unlikely of miracles," he said in an evil voice. "If anyone can tell you that, it would be Mark Hillard…"
"Mark Hillard?" Detective Stone asked in a confused voice. "How would Mark Hillard…?"
Jason sighed, "Mark Hillard was a hostage of Rita and Zedd right before Billy was killed," he said softly.
"I've got to get back out there," Thomas commented. "I'll drive around looking for the girls…"
Malcolm sighed, "Boys, you two should go back to class," Detective Stone stated. "Thank you."
Thomas gave both Jason and Malcolm hugs and the two boys left the room and quickly spotted Dr. Oliver and Justin, "Now, Justin, why don't you tell Jason and Malcolm what you told me?" Dr. Oliver asked in a gentle voice. "Justin told me something interesting while you were in the classroom."
Jason raised an eyebrow, but said nothing, "I saw Tommy, Katherine, Tanya, and Adam sneak out into the courtyard and teleport out," Justin said in a quiet voice. "This fell out of Doctor Oliver's pocket…"
Swallowing hard, Justin opened his hand and revealed Laura's Turbo Morpher, "I took it off of her so that the paramedics wouldn't find it and fiddle with it," Dr. Oliver explained in a worried voice.
"She's still got her communicator, right?" Jason asked in a concerned voice as he looked at Dr. Oliver.
Dr. Oliver nodded and sighed as Justin started fiddling with the buttons, "Justin, stop playing with that," he said in a gentle, but firm voice. "That's a very complex device and it's not for kids to play with…"
"Doctor Oliver?" a female voice suddenly spoke out of the communicator. "Are you there?"
Frowning, Dr. Oliver took the communicator from Justin and he, Justin, Jason, and Malcolm were suddenly teleported out of the hallway. The hallway was empty, as if nobody had been there.
"Welcome to the rest of your life!" Laura and Kimberly suddenly heard Zedd angrily proclaim.
Laura and Kimberly opened their eyes and found that they were tied to a tree in the outskirts of Angel Grove, "Do you recognize this place?" Zedd asked as he appeared in front of them. "It's Death Trail…"
"Malcolm's parents were killed on Death Trail, weren't they?" Kimberly asked in an anxious voice.
Zedd cackled and his Z-staff suddenly appeared in his hand, "That was destroyed, wasn't it?" Kimberly and Laura asked at the same time, remembering that Malcolm had almost died cutting that staff.
"Dark Spectre has granted me a new one that has enough power to drain you and then locate Rita," Zedd explained in an amused voice. "The power of your pure and noble spirits will be enough for me to bring Rita back from the furthest edge of the galaxy. Did you think Rita could ever be killed?"
Unknown to Zedd, a young man named Carlos had been out jogging Death Trail as part of his efforts to stay in shape enough to keep up in soccer. He didn't care for school at all because he had come to the States alone after his family had sold everything to send him there legally. Now, however, Carlos could see that some strange monster was hurting two girls and he wondered where the Power Rangers were.
Carlos watched with horror as the monster shot lasers at the tied up girls, "You won't get away with this, Zedd!" Kimberly screamed in an anxious voice. "Laura, I'm so sorry that I thought you liked Billy…"
"Kim, save your strength for fighting this!" Laura argued back as she struggled to resist the beam.
Carlos swallowed hard and quickly ran into view, "Hey, you big ugly freak!" he shouted, hoping to draw the monster's ire on him long enough to let the girls escape. "Why don't you get out of here before…?"
"Before you WHAT?!" Zedd roared as he turned to stare at Carlos. "You're just a little boy!"
"What is that kid doing?" Jason asked in a skeptical voice as he watched Zedd advance on Carlos while ignoring Laura and Kimberly. "He doesn't look any older than Ashley; he's gonna get creamed…"
Dr. Oliver and Justin exchanged a look, but said nothing. Malcolm, however, cringed worriedly.
Dimitria suddenly cleared her throat as she came out of a side chamber with Tommy, Katherine, Tanya, and Adam, "Zedd's power is only temporary here, but when he returns to space, his allies are many," she said in a somber voice. "The damage has been done to both Kimberly and Laura, but I gave my word to Zordon that I would preserve the Rangers and protect the power. The time has now come."
"You're that lady who helped Zhane," Jason commented as he turned and saw Dimitria standing there.
Dimitria nodded, "And now I will help the other Power Rangers," she replied in a somber voice. "Laura has already given up her powers due to the current situation and I must ask the same of the others."
"If they give up their powers, who's going to protect the world?" Malcolm asked. "Where's Zordon?"
Katherine frowned, "Astronema broke into the Command Center and abducted Zordon," she explained in a somber voice, frowning at how pale Malcolm was becoming. "They've escaped into space by now."
"Are you guys going into space?" Malcolm asked, dreading losing yet more people he cared about.
Dimitria sighed patiently, "Tommy, Katherine, Adam, Tanya, and Laura have performed valiantly, as have you and Jason," she explained gently. "However, you are all at a point in your lives where you are all meant to explore what you can do for the world. Therefore, new Power Rangers are now needed."
Malcolm nodded, but immediately leaned against a console, "They can't be trained here," he said in an anxious voice, suddenly feeling very weak. "Zordon's gone and this world isn't safe for training…"
"The four remaining Rangers have chosen their successors," Dimitria stated in an ethereal tone. "I will now bring them here and they will be properly welcomed into the Power Ranger family."
There was a flash and TJ, Cassie, and Ashley appeared in the Power Chamber, "What about Laura, Kimberly, and that kid?" Jason asked in a concerned voice. "Who's going to stop Zedd from…?"
"We will," TJ said in a confident voice as he held out the Red Turbo Morpher. "Red Turbo Power!"
Tommy sighed as TJ morphed, "Wait, you want ME to be a Power Ranger?" Cassie screeched.
"Guys, let's not discuss this now," Ashley said in an anxious voice. "My sister and Kim need help."
Jason smiled as Ashley held out Tanya's Turbo Morpher, "Yellow Turbo Power!" she shouted.
"Give this to that kid," Adam said as he held out his Turbo Morpher to TJ. "He's earned it."
TJ nodded and Cassie sighed as she held out Kat's Turbo Morpher, "Pink Turbo Power!" she shouted.
"Who's going to take the blue power?" Justin asked in a confused voice, wondering why he was there.
Dimitria smiled and Dr. Oliver held out Laura's Turbo Morpher to Justin, "You," he replied calmly.
"Me?" Justin asked, shocked as he took the Turbo Morpher and held it out. "Blue Turbo Power!"
Dr. Oliver nodded, "The Power Chamber is no more," Dimitria said in a somber voice. "The new Rangers will be prepared for their new journey from a different location that is not known to any evils."
Before anyone could speak, the entire Power Chamber filled with light and engulfed all who were inside.
"You're done, Zedd!" TJ shouted as he Cassie, Ashley, and Justin appeared in the outskirts of the city.
Zedd growled and TJ took the opportunity to toss Adam's Turbo Morpher to Carlos, "The former Green Ranger wants you to have this," he said, smiling at Carlos's shocked expression. "You need to morph."
Carlos was quiet for a moment and then reverently held the Turbo Morpher out, "Green Turbo Power!" he shouted, suddenly feeling very honored that he had been picked to help protect the world.
As Carlos morphed, the ropes snapped and Kimberly and Laura both fell to the ground unconscious, "I see that I underestimated Zordon," Zedd grunted in an angry voice. "No matter, I have what I need."
"What exactly did you take from them?" Ashley asked in an angry, but extremely worried voice.
Zedd cackled and spun his Z-staff, "All remaining powers within them," he replied commandingly as he thrust his Z-staff at the five of them. "Now, Power Rangers, I'm going to do the same to all of you!"
However, before Zedd could shoot another beam, two figures in masked suits that were adorned with the various Ninjetti symbols on the chests and hoods, appeared each holding one end of a staff. One suit was black and and the other was white. The staff suddenly broke apart and both extended outward.
"Lord Zedd, you stand guilty of crimes against the innocent," the figure in the white suit stated.
The figure in the black suit extended his staff, "What I have done wrong, I will now make right for myself, the world, and for all those I have damaged," he said in a reverent voice. "I was once Zedison, Son of Chaos and I was also a slave to Ivan Ooze at one point, but I am neither any longer."
"WHAT?!" Zedd exclaimed angrily. "YOU WOULD DARE TURN AGAINST ME?!"
The figure in the black took the staff from the figure in the white, "Your battle is over and I wish you well, brother," he said in a reverent voice. "I must now atone for what I caused; be gone with you."
Suddenly, the figure in the white disappeared and the figure in the black put the two parts of the staff together, "I am going to send you to join Rita," he said in a commanding voice as he pointed the staff at Zedd. "Your plan to destroy Earth using Zordon's power will not succeed and now you must go."
Zedd cackled and screamed as a powerful beam of multicolored light shot out of the staff and engulfed the figure, Zedd, and all of the Power Rangers. A moment later, the light faded and both Zedd and the figure were gone, leaving the newly crowned Power Rangers alone with Laura and Kim near the tree.
"Let's get them back to safety," TJ said in a commanding voice, suddenly feeling the weight of his responsibility as he walked over to where Kimberly and Laura lay unconscious. "They both need help."
The noise of retching prompted Adam to turn from the sink he had just teleported in front of; it was safely inside the boys' bathroom so nobody would be the wiser, "Rocky?" he asked worriedly.
There was silence and then the bathroom door opened, revealing a pale, sweating Rocky, "I didn't think the after chemo effect would kick in so soon," he said in a sick voice. "I just had it yesterday."
"I remember," Adam replied gently. "Do you feel like finishing today or do you want to leave?"
Rocky sighed, "Where would I go, Adam?" he asked in a tired voice. "Back to the hospital?"
Adam was quiet as tears filled Rocky's eyes, "I'm sorry, that was rude," Rocky whispered softly.
"You can stay at Doctor Oliver's tonight if you want," Adam offered. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind."
Rocky shrugged and silently left the bathroom, "I might go lie down in the nurse's office for a bit, actually," he said in a tired voice. "I know I need to eat and keep hydrated, but I'm just so tired."
"If you're tired, you shouldn't put yourself through a full day of school," a voice suddenly spoke.
Swallowing hard, Rocky turned and saw Thomas standing there, "Turns out the Power Rangers rescued Laura and Kimberly and I was on my way out after talking with Detective Stone," Thomas explained, concerned about how pale Rocky looked. "Are you gonna be okay to finish today out, Rocky?"
"I'll manage," Rocky replied nervously, not wanting to be dragged back to the hospital at all that day.
Thomas raised an eyebrow and his eyes widened when Rocky's legs started giving out, "Gotcha," Adam said in a concerned voice. "Rocky, maybe you'd better let Mister Lee Scott just check you over."
Too beat to argue, Rocky sighed and let Adam and Thomas lead him out to the parked ambulance.
A tear slipped down Laura's cheek as she opened her eyes and saw that she was lying flat in a hospital bed, "I know it hurts, Laura, but you're going into surgery soon," a gentle voice reassured her.
"Where am I?" Laura asked, her eyes widening as Dr. Cranston came into view. "Doctor Cranston?"
Dr. Cranston nodded and pressed a button, raising the bed and allowing Laura to look through the glass window and see that Dr. Oliver was standing in the hallway, "You collapsed at school in pain," he explained in a gentle voice. "Old injuries that don't receive proper treatment will cause that…"
"I came from an abusive home last year," Laura replied softly. "I'm an emancipated adult…"
Dr. Cranston gently squeezed Laura's hand, "Your records said you came for treatment, but you didn't stick around long enough to receive it," he explained in a concerned voice. "Why is that exactly?"
"I was afraid of been seen as weak," Laura replied in a pain filled voice. "I was all alone when I…"
Pain suddenly shot through Laura's body and she winced, "It's all right," Dr. Cranston said in a soothing voice as he gently released her hand. "Your determination and spirit have gotten you through the last year from circumstances that I wouldn't wish on anybody. Now, it's time to heal from the past."
"What exactly are you going to do?" Laura asked in a fearful voice as Dr. Oliver entered the room.
Dr. Cranston sighed, "You're bleeding internally and that has to be fixed," he replied softly. "Scar tissue has built up over the past year that was created due to antibiotic treatment you had when you…"
"I didn't mind the IV's, but I didn't want surgery," Laura replied softly. "Does that make me bad?"
Dr. Oliver's eyes widened in surprise, "Laura, you've been through terrible things and all you were trying to do was protect you and your sister," he replied gently. "You're about as courageous as they come."
"Ashley doesn't know where I am," Laura replied weakly. "Will you tell her and all of my friends?"
Dr. Oliver nodded, "I'll phone them all while you're in surgery," he promised. "Just take it easy."
"I have to give you a little medicine to relax you now, all right?" Dr. Cranston said gently. "Relax."
Swallowing hard, Dr. Oliver silently left the room and walked over to the phone that was on the wall closest to the nurse's station. As he picked up the receiver, he was surprised to see Adam nearby.
"Adam?" Dr. Oliver called out, setting the receiver down. "Adam, what are you doing here?"
Adam's eyes widened and he walked over to Dr. Oliver, "Rocky got sick at school and Jason's dad brought him here to get checked out," the young man explained. "Can Rocky come over tonight?"
Dr. Oliver nodded, "Doctor Oliver, what are you doing here?" Adam asked in a concerned voice.
"Laura's old injuries suddenly became worse,"Dr. Oliver replied somberly. "She needs surgery."
Adam looked horrified, "Adam, Laura asked me to tell all of you about it, but I really need to stay here for now," Dr. Oliver continued somberly, seeing Laura and Adam as part of his very extensive family.
"I'm not sure where everyone else is right now," Adam replied somberly. "After Tommy, Katherine, Tanya, and I gave our powers to some new, younger people, we were all teleported off in different directions."
Dr. Oliver's eyes softened at hearing that there had been a transfer of powers, but he nodded, "It was time," he replied in a voice that Adam knew to be final. "Now, Adam, will you please go gather your friends and tell them?"
"I will," Adam replied calmly before walking off, silently hoping that Laura and the others were all going to be okay.
