A/N: This prompt came via mashmaiden once again. She's probably getting sick of me tagging her in everything. Takes place pre Neighborhood Watch and contains lots of pre-Densi shenanigans, but stays fairly PG.

For Densimber day 4 prompt: Kensi and Deeks undercover pre All-In.

"Mr. Deeks, Ms. Blye, I have your wardrobe," Hetty announced, appearing in the bullpen. Deeks glanced up from the file Nell had given him 45 minutes ago for his latest alias, Justin. Kensi had a similar file on Justin's wife, Melissa. Hetty stood next to a clothes rack with several garment back hanging from it with an expectant expression.

"What do we need a wardrobe for? I figured we'd just wear our own clothes on this case," Deeks said, turning to Kensi who shrugged her agreement.

"Ah, these clothes are not for your undercover case, but rather for your photo shoot."

"What do you mean photo shoot?" Kensi asked suspiciously as she got up to look through the bags.

"I mean that you and Mr. Deeks will be posing for a variety of pictures to use in your alias' house," Hetty explained reasonably.

"Can't we just have Eric photoshop some?" Deeks suggested. "I mean, it's not like anybody's probably gonna get a close look at them."

"No. You never know who will be looking."

"Hetty, there's a wedding dress in here," Kensi said, sounding alarmed as she pulled out a bunch of white gauzy material from one of the bags.

"I know. Justin and Melissa had a lovely wedding. Now, I want you to change into one of the more casual outfits and meet me in the gym. Nell will handling hair and makeup."

"Deeks, lift your chin a little and then look at Kensi," Nell instructed, peering past the tripod set up several feet away. Deeks muttered under his breath, but tilted his head, looking just past Kensi, and plastered on a smile. She stood behind him, one forearm braced on his shoulder, the other arm wrapped around his chest.

It was already too intimate; he had no idea how he was going to handle "living" with Kensi for a couple weeks. Nell ducked back down and snapped several pictures.

"Mr. Deeks, look into your partner's eyes," Hetty interrupted after a couple minutes.

"I am," he lied. Against his will, he made direct eye contact with Kensi. There was something a little too raw and vulnerable in her gaze and he looked away almost immediately.

"No you're not. You may as well be gazing at a 2 by 4 for all the chemistry I see." Kensi snorted and Hetty wagged a finger in her direction. "And you don't hold your lover as though he's a tree, Kensi. You embrace him."

"But we're not lovers," Kensi reminded her in a strained voice, forcing a laugh. "I mean, we're partners and we care about each other of course, the way that partners do."

"Yeah, completely and totally normal," Deeks muttered under his breath. Shooting him a dirty look, Kensi dug her elbow into his shoulder blade. Hetty ignored their bantering, regarding them with an unimpressed and possibly judgmental expression from behind her glasses.

"Yes, but you'll be playing a married couple and in order to avoid any suspicion, we must cover all our bases," she said gravely. "Now, Kensi embrace your partner. Better yet, sit on his lap."

"Hetty, I don't really think that's-" Hetty gave him another look and he snapped his mouth shut, not making another comment as Kensi released her grip on his neck. After a moment of hesitation, she perched on the edge of his knee. He was immediately overwhelmed by her scent and watched a faint hint of red spread across her cheeks.

Hetty nodded in approval.

"Good. I need to get your wedding outfits for the next set of shots. I expect you to be in the same position when I return."

"This is ridiculous," Kensi muttered under her breath, but she didn't move.

Figuring that the sooner they went along with Hetty's plan, this uncomfortable, if highly intriguing, situation would be over, Deeks wrapped his hands around Kensi's waist and tugged her lightly against his chest.

Kensi let out a surprised gasp, grasping at his thigh for balance. Warmth radiated from her palm straight through his black slacks.

"Deeks, what the hell are you doing?" she hissed. He gave her his most charming smile and shifted so she was now balanced horizontally across his lap with her legs hanging over the chair.

"Just getting into character," he told her innocently.

"This isn't funny."

"I know. But we both know that Hetty isn't going to give in until she gets what she wants. So we might as well get it over with. And it's good practice for the next couple weeks."

"I guess you're right," she sighed. After a moment of hesitation, she moved her hand further up his thigh.

"Yeah, uh, that's not exactly what I meant," Deeks stuttered. Kensi ignored him, looping her other arm around his neck, and scooted even closer.

"I thought you wanted to go method." She smirked at him, clearly pleased to have rattled him. "This doesn't make you uncomfortable, does it?"

"Not at all," he lied, leaning in so only an inch or two remained between their faces. He saw Kensi's eyes widen, but she didn't back down. She lifted her other hand and passed her fingers through his hair, letting them tangle in the strands at the very back of his head.

"Oh, you are so full of it," she said. He didn't think she was even aware of how close they were. Taking advantage of her distraction, he tugged her straight against his chest.

"You wanna bet?"

"Ahem!" They both turned at the sharp sound of someone clearing their throat. Nell, peering above the tripod, was watching them with a mixture of interest and discomfort. "Just thought you guys should know I'm still here," she said with a little wave.

"Yeah, that wasn't what it-" Kensi started, quickly sitting up and smoothing her hair away from her face.

"We were just role-playing, for our aliases," Deeks added. "You know, since we'll be playing a married couple and should probably be comfortable around each other."

"Uh-huh." Nell nodded, not looking at all convinced. She glanced pointedly at Kensi, who was still sitting on his lap, and she hastily stood up, brushing at her perfectly fitting jeans.

"I'm going to the bathroom," she announced abruptly. She hurried from the room as fast as she could without actually running. There was a moment of awkward silence and then Nell asked,

"Sooo, you wanna talk about what just happened?"

"Nope," Deeks said firmly. "No, I do not."

It was going to be an exceptionally long few weeks.
