A/N: Written for Densimber day 6. The prompt of the day was Densi having a fight or argument.
Kensi woke to a loud, extended noise. In her still sleep-hazed brain, it took her a moment to recognize that the sound was in fact a vacuum cleaner. Scrubbing her hands over her face, she glanced at her phone, which showed a bright 5:30.
"What the hell, Deeks," she grumbled, pushing herself out of bed. She found Deeks in the den. Back to her, he had all the furniture pushed out either side, and steadily worked his way across the carpet.
Shaking her head in disbelief, Kensi walked over to the wall and yanked the cord out. He spun around when the vacuum suddenly stopped mid-stroke, looking confused.
"Deeks, what are you doing?" she demanded, crossing her arms.
"Getting a head start on the cleaning," Deeks answered, like it was the most reasonable thing in the world.
"At 5:30 on a Saturday morning? Babe, I was trying to sleep."
"Well, there's a lot of cleaning to get done." There was a slightly passive aggressive tone to his voice, and Kensi's hands clenched into fists.
"We talked about this. And I agreed to work on my mess and hoarding tendencies," Kensi reminded him. "Besides, you just cleaned all the floors two days ago."
"Yeah, I did. Then what felt like two seconds later, there were crumbs, and hair, so much hair, everywhere. I swear Monty picks up after himself better than you," Deeks said without the playfulness she was used to when this topic came up.
Kensi felt her cheeks flush, and curled her hands into the fabric of her oversized pajama shirt.
"I shouldn't have said that." Deeks sighed a second later, rubbing his eyes with forefinger and thumb.
"It's true, I'm a slob." She shrugged. "And, I didn't exactly keep up my side of the bargain."
"Still, I could have handled this a lot better. I was being a jerk."
"A little bit," Kensi agreed, making Deeks chuckle breathily. He held out his arm in a clear offering, tucking her against his chest when she accepted. "I forgive you," she added.
"Why don't you go back to sleep?" he suggested.
"Only if you come with me." Deeks started to object, but she placed a finger over his lips. "Then when we wake up again, we can both clean. At a more reasonable hour."
"Deal." He kissed her cheek, taking a minute to wind up the vacuum cord, because heaven forbid he leave it out for a few hours.
"So, I'm messier than Monty, huh?" she asked as they walked back upstairs.
"Yeah, that one's going to cost me for a while, isn't it?" Deeks sighed.
"Oh, just extra donuts for a few weeks." Kensi patted his chest. "I'll try to contain the crumbs."
A/N: This is a little bit OOC, but I hope you'll forgive me. In terms of messiness, I'm closer to Kensi than Deeks.
