"Caleb, eat some broccoli," Deeks prompts on his way to the sink with Sophia's empty plate.

"How bout teeze?" Caleb counters.

"You've already eaten a small boat's worth of cheese, kiddo. You need some veggies too."

Caleb, grinning for all he's worth. "Pease daddy? I so hungry."

Deeks tickles his ribs, ruffling the top of his head. "If you eat anymore cheese, you're going to turn into a cheese stick, and then what are we going to do?" Caleb giggles, breathing so hard, he collapses against Deeks' arm. "Eat your broccoli."

While Caleb disinterestedly pokes at a broccoli floret, Deeks turns around to Sophia climbing into the open fridge.

"Sophia Marie Deeks-Blye, what do you think you're doing?"

"Get Cayeb teeze," she answers reasonably, stretching up on her tiptoes to reach the family size bag of shredded cheese.

Hurrying over, Deeks scoops her up, her little legs kicking in protest as he swings her through the air and onto the ground.

"You're a good sister. But stay out of the fridge," he tells her kindly.

"So mean," Sophia harrumphs, folding her arms across her chest.

"Yes, daddy is the meanest. Caleb's still not getting any more cheese."

"How bout candy?" Caleb suggests.

Deeks, pursing his lips. "I see I'm fighting a losing battle.
