Central City: West Household

Iris was getting everything ready for Thanksgiving and they wanted to celebrate it at Kara and Barry's new apartment. Joe hasn't seen their new place after moving out of their old one. Both of them were very happy about their lives changing and wanted to take the next step in their relationship.

Barry was still on the idea of proposing after eating and popping the question in front of all their friends and family. The only thing is that Kara doesn't know that her family is celebrating with them for Thanksgiving, but they wanted to surprise her so Barry agreed not to spoil anything.

Kara was still nervous about seeing Oliver again and keeping her past behind her. She didn't know how to tell Barry that her ex-boyfriend was also his best friend. The drama that was gonna happen when they headed to Starling City, and Oliver had to see Barry and her together.

"Dad, I'm going to send all the food to cook over at Barry and Kara's place," Iris said and Joe yelled back.

"Alright, I have the rest of the food, and I'm guessing they got the drinks and dessert over there," Joe said and Iris nodded her head.

"Let's go. It takes a couple of hours to get this turkey cooked, and I want to see Kara," Iris said and Joe chuckled.

"Okay, we are going now, and I invited Eddie over Thanksgiving since he has no one to celebrate with," Joe said and Iris froze before nodding her head.

"That's great, Dad," Iris said before they left the house.

At Barry and Kara's Apartment

Kara and Barry were going back and forth in their apartment to make sure it was spotless and got the drinks ready to go. Kara made Barry go and get some ice to put the champagne bottle in to keep it cool. She was so nervous about spending her first Thanksgiving with Barry's family without her own family there with her.

Barry wanted her to have the best Thanksgiving by letting her parents and sister surprise her with a visit to Central City and spend their Thanksgiving with them and when he proposes to Kara after dinner. They still had to head over to Starling City to hang out with Oliver and their other friends for Friendsgiving, it was how Thea wanted it to be called since all their friends were gonna be reuniting again.

Alex was bringing Sara with her to the West-Allen-Danvers Thanksgiving dinner since she didn't want to spend it with the Queen-Merlyn-Lance and more guests Moira decided on having a Thanksgiving party. Sara hasn't told anyone that she's kept in contact with Kara and how she moved on a couple of months after finding out Oliver was dating Laurel.

"The table is set and the oven is heating up when Joe and Iris arrive with the turkey. I heard that you invited your friends Cisco and Caitlin for Thanksgiving," Kara said and Barry nodded his head.

"Cisco didn't want to spend it with his family and Caitlin isn't close to her mother, and she didn't want to pick a fight with her," Barry said, and Kara smiled at him.

"You're a good friend to Cisco and Caitlin. I'm happy that you could have friends like that," Kara said and Barry kissed her cheek.

"I always wondered why you didn't have more friends other than Iris," Barry questioned.

"Iris was the only person I could trust the most and she was pretending to have a status in college. All the other friends I had in college were fake and only wanted to be my friend because of my popularity," Kara said and Barry sighed.

"Well, you were a cheerleader in college and I was such a nerd. I'm pretty glad we met when we did because I wouldn't change it for anything or anyone," Barry said and Kara smiled.

"It's like you're already making your vows for our future wedding," Kara teased at him.

"Would you ever want to get married, especially to me?" Barry asked her.

"I do see us getting married at some point in the future," Kara said and Barry smiled at her.

"Kara Danvers-Allen. It has a good sound to it," Barry said and Kara chuckled at him.

"It does. I'm so nervous about this Thanksgiving dinner without my family here with me," Kara said and Barry massaged her shoulders to relax her.

"Don't worry about them right now; if it worries you so much then call them and invite them to Central City," Barry suggested.

"That's a good idea. What if they can't make it to the dinner?" Kara asked him, pouting her lower lip.

"They will come because I'm pretty sure they miss you as much as you missed them," Barry said and Kara kissed him.

"You always know what to say to keep me calm," Kara said and Barry smiled.

"It's my job as your boyfriend and your best friend," Barry said and Kara laughed.

"That's right. We were friends right before we began dating each other," Kara said and Barry wrapped his arms around her waist.

"You and Iris were like best friends back in college after a couple of months in Central City," Barry said and Kara chuckled.

"Yeah. She's the only friend that I needed to last me in college," Kara said and Barry nodded his head.

Later That Day

Iris and Joe made their way into Kara and Barry's apartment. Iris had a key to their apartment in case of emergencies, or if she needed something from their place. Joe was happy for Kara and Barry for them continuing through the next step of their relationship.

Kara was a bit worried still about seeing her old friends and the old life she left behind to create another one with a new boyfriend and new friends. She told Joe about her old life because she felt that she could trust him and didn't think she would fall in love with Barry at that time. It was worse for her because Barry and Oliver knew each other.

Barry always questioned her old life and why she never wanted to talk about it. She couldn't tell him that Oliver was her ex-boyfriend and they were very serious about each other. Thanksgiving dinner with her family and Barry's family would help take her mind off of Oliver and the old life she left behind after she and Oliver broke up.

"We're here, and it looks like you warmed up the oven for us to put the turkey in," Iris said and Kara nodded her head.

"Yes, it was better to have it started already than having to wait for it after you arrived," Kara said, laying out their silverware and plates.

"Great idea, my dad and Barry are getting the fire ready. It's a little chilly for this Thanksgiving," Iris said and Kara agreed.

"Barry invited Caitlin and Cisco over since they had no plans," Kara said and Iris smiled.

"That's so nice of Barry to invite them over for dinner with us," Iris said and Kara nodded her head.

"The only thing I'm worried about is seeing Oliver again and calming myself so I don't punch Laurel in the face," Kara said, and Iris smirked.

"Well, you're not the only one who's been dying to hit her because she always talks about how her career is better than everyone else's," Iris said, rolling her eyes.

"Being a lawyer is good, but you also help police officers put away criminals and get involved in dangerous cases. I'm a police officer working alongside Joe, not chasing down dangerous cases, but idiots thinking that they are good at staying low," Kara said and Iris laughed.

"Looks at us, a reporter and a police officer working alongside each other. You help me with what stories I can write, and I give them to my boss," Iris said, and Kara chuckled.

"Two best friends working together," Kara said, clinking their wine glasses.

Barry and Joe finished lighting up the fire and headed into the kitchen to check on Iris and Kara. Joe went to check on the turkey as Kara was taking out the pies and setting them on the table.

"You already made the pie?" Iris asked.

"Yeah, right before you guys got here, Barry and I woke up early to make the desserts because I was so excited to spend Thanksgiving with my second family," Kara said and Barry chuckled.

"She was excited to make dessert for everyone that was coming to our Thanksgiving dinner," Barry said, kissing her head.

"Well, the turkey needs to cook for another hour and it'll be ready to go," Joe said, and Iris nodded her head.

"So, when is Eddie getting here, or did he cancel on us?" Kara asked.

"He said that his mom wanted to make some food to bring over here. She didn't want him to come here empty-handed," Iris said and Joe looked confused.

"How did you know that?" Joe asked Iris.

"Barry told me about it, right Barry?" Iris asked him and he nodded his head.

"Right. It probably won't take long until more guests arrive," Barry said and Kara nodded her head.

"Caitlin and Cisco should be coming soon, right?" Kara asked Barry.

"Yeah, Caitlin is picking up Cisco, and they'll be heading straight here," Barry said and Kara kissed his cheek.

"Okay. Everything else that we cooked already is laid out and ready to serve," Kara said and Iris nodded her head.

"Now, we're just waiting for the turkey," Iris said and Joe hummed in agreement.

Kara heard the doorbell and went to answer it, she was surprised to see her family and Laurel's sister standing across from her. Her family pointed at her boyfriend and she smiled in awe as her boyfriend had something to do with inviting her family.

"Barry saw how devastated about us joining for separate dinners and thought about all of us coming together," Eliza said as Kara hugged her mom.

"And we also got to fully meet your boyfriend, and we love him," Jeremiah said and Kara giggled.

"I already met him, but he still surprises me with how romantic he is," Alex said and Barry sarcastically laughed.

"It's good to see you again, Kara," Sara said, and Barry stared confused.

"Sara and I see each other a lot in Central City because of her mom," Kara said, and Sara nodded her head.

"That's good about you getting closer to my friends," Barry said and Kara chuckled nervously.

"Yeah, everyone is getting super close to each other," Iris said and stared at Kara.

"Now, we're just waiting on Cisco and Caitlin," Joe said as he brought the turkey over to the table.

"Turkey is done and ready to be served," Barry commented as he looked at the turkey.

"We brought some sides with us that we cooked," Eliza said and Kara smiled at her mom.

"This is good. We barely have any sides to go with our turkey and ham," Iris said and Alex smiled.

"Now, we are just waiting for my friends to arrive," Barry said and Kara nodded her head.

"And we're waiting on Eddie to come too," Iris added.

"Right, we also invited someone else that works with us on the police force," Kara said and Jeremiah nodded his head.

"That's good to hear," Eliza said.

They heard another knock on the door and saw Cisco and Caitlin with Eddie Thawne. They brought some wine and a couple more food with them.

"Sorry, we're late," Caitlin said and Barry shrugged it off.

"It's fine. It's a good thing that you can make it here," Barry said and Kara shook her head.

"He has this big surprise at the end and he wanted everyone close to us here for the big reveal," Kara said, and Barry kissed her forehead.

"Well, I wanted to share it with everyone that we cherish and care about," Barry said and Kara nodded her head.

"I won't ask anymore, but it better be a good surprise," Kara said and winked at him.

Kara walked away and began pouring the wine into their glasses as her mom helped out with putting the dishes on the table. She was thankful to her family and at least someone she knew from Starling City from her past.

"Now, let's eat," Iris said and Kara chuckled.

"Joe is in charge of cutting up the turkey this year," Barry said and sat next to Kara.

Joe got up and started carving the turkey up for everyone. Everyone started passing around the plates and grabbing some sides that everyone brought. Kara interrupted everyone for a quick prayer.

"Before we eat, I wanted to say a prayer because it was a tradition in our family," Kara said and Barry nodded his head.

Everyone grabbed each other's hand and bowed their heads as Kara started them off.

"I wanted to thank my boyfriend for bringing my family for Thanksgiving, and be thankful for all the hard work we all put in and make sure that I come home safe to my boyfriend and family," Kara said and Barry chuckled. "And I also wanted to thank Joe for this amazing opportunity to do something for a change and for having my back. Amen."

"Amen," Everyone said and dug in their food.

After Dinner

Everyone moved into the living room and enjoyed each other's company. They were all telling each other old stories about each other through college and their childhood memories. Barry cleared his throat after their discussion and Kara was a bit confused by the surprise that Barry was about to let out.

Kara's family and Joe knew about what Barry was about to do and were very happy for both of them. Sara was a little nervous about the idea of her being engaged to someone else who wasn't Oliver and how he was going to feel about the news of his ex-girlfriend engaged to someone who was like a brother to him.

"I'm kinda nervous about what's about to happen. I'm thankful for everyone in this room, but I'm more thankful when Kara enters my life after she joined the police force and Joe introduced us. The moment I saw her, I was like, I'm in love with this woman, and I was going to make her my girlfriend," Barry said and Kara chuckled. "Kara, thanks to you, I found love again and I got to work alongside the bravest woman I ever met," He said and grabbed her hand. "You were the only woman that ever made me smile and made me the happiest man and I thought I wanted forever with you," He added. "So, Kara Danvers?" Barry asked as he bent down on one knee. "Will you do the honor of becoming my wife?" Barry asked her.

"Yes, I will marry you," Kara said and hugged him tightly.

"Really?" Barry asked.

"Yes, I will be your wife, Barry Allen," Kara said and Barry nervously took the ring out of the box and slid it on her ring finger.

They kissed each other, and Kara's family was the first one to hug them and everyone else joined in. Iris was so happy that Kara was going to be like her sister-in-law and Alex was just happy for her sister. Sara didn't fully trust Kara's relationship with Barry because she felt in her gut that something wasn't right with this Barry Allen guy.

"Congratulations, Kara. You and Barry are meant for each other," Joe said and hugged her.

"Thank you so much, Joe," Kara said and hugged him back.

"We should go; my friends are waiting for us in Starling City," Barry said and Kara nodded her head.

"Right. His friends must be waiting for us to arrive at the party," Kara said and Sara took her hand.

"You sure about this?" Sara asked, whispering to her.

"I have no other choice and after visiting Starling City, I'll tell Barry about Oliver and I," Kara whispered to Sara.

"Okay. I trust your words," Sara said and they smiled at Barry.

"Ready to go?" Barry asked Kara.

"Yeah, we're not gonna stay that long, right?" Kara asked him.

"Don't stay out too long; I need Kara for tomorrow," Joe said and Barry nodded his head.

"I won't keep her out that late, Joe," Barry said and Kara laughed.

"We'll be taking Iris and Eddie with us. You can enjoy your quiet time without your kids bothering you all," Kara said, and Joe chuckled.

"Have some fun and don't drink too much," Joe said and hugged Kara. "You sure about attending Oliver Queen's Thanksgiving party?" He asked her.

"I did promise Barry about going with him, and he told Oliver about bringing his new girlfriend," Kara said and Joe nodded his head.

"Just be careful; if Oliver sees you again with someone like Barry and getting married he'll be heartbroken and try to get you back," Joe warned her.

"I promise, and trust me I'll never take Oliver back after he broke my heart and tore our relationship apart because he couldn't stand up to his mother," Kara said, and Joe kissed her head.

Barry helped Kara put on her coat and head out with Iris, Eddie, Sara, and Alex to Oliver's Friendsgiving party. It was to bring his old buddies and reconnect with them after everyone parted ways when Kara left Starling City.

They decided to have Eddie drive them to the party and deal with the fact that all of them know about Iris and Eddie's relationship, but couldn't tell Joe about his partner dating his daughter. Kara told Iris to tell Joe about their secret relationship before he finds out himself.

Kara didn't know how everyone was going to react when she returned to Starling City, especially Oliver's mother. Moira never liked Kara and believed that she was using Oliver for their money. Kara just left Oliver and moved to Central City for the rest of her college life and met Barry and Iris.

Joe wanted Kara and Eddie to bring their badge and gun just in case anything happened. Captain Lance was gonna let them arrest anyone who violated the law. She was so scared to face Oliver again after all those years being apart and now being engaged to Barry.

They all arrived at Oliver's place, and Kara had never felt so nervous about meeting everyone from her past. Barry helped Kara out of the car and helped her into her coat, as they made their way into the building. Eddie helped Iris and Barry hit the elevator button and the doors opened as they stepped in.

Iris was looking at Kara and saw how nervous she was to see her old friends again, especially Oliver. They broke up because Oliver did not stand up to his mom, but you can fake all those years together. They arrived at the apartment door and Barry knocked, waiting for a response.

Tommy opened the door and saw Kara in another man's arms, and he sighed, knowing the drama that was about to come when Oliver found out Barry was dating his ex-girlfriend. He allowed them in and the whole party went quiet as everyone saw a certain someone from their pasts.

Sara and Alex took Kara away to get some air because her old past was standing in the middle of the room talking to Oliver. Now, Kara found out that Oliver was dating Laurel Lance, Sara's older sister who happens to have competition with her to win Oliver's heart.

"Barry, it's so good to see you," Oliver said, hugging him.

"Yeah, sorry it took us so long to get here; my family and my girlfriend's family were celebrating together," Barry said, and Iris nodded her head.

"That's okay, I'm just glad you brought Iris and her boyfriend along with you. I can't wait to meet your girlfriend. Where is she?" Oliver asked, curious.

"Her sister and Sara pulled her away for a minute. Something about her needing some air," Barry said and Thea walked up to the group.

"It's good to see you, Barry. I see you brought Caitlin and Cisco as well," Thea said while looking around.

"Who are you looking for?" Iris asked.

"I'm just looking to if she came at all or if seeing Oliver again would scare her away," Thea said, and Oliver looked down.

"What I don't understand is why Ollie invited his ex-girlfriend in the first place?" Laurel asked, walking up to the group.

"Well, Kara is still family to me and I miss her," Thea said, blurting out Kara's name.

"How do you know Kara?" Barry asked confused.

"Hey Allen, we're back. She just needed to take a break," Sara said.

"How is she?" Barry asked concerned.

"Don't worry, she's coming; Alex has a good eye on her sister," Sara said, whispering Alex's name.

"Here she comes," Iris said, looking at the ground.

"Oliver, Laurel, and Thea. I would like you to meet my fiancé, Kara Danvers," Barry said and all three of them froze.

They saw Kara walk up to the group and wrap her arms around Barry's forearm. Oliver and Thea were shocked that Kara was here and engaged to their friend. Laurel was just glaring at Kara because of her coming back and the way Oliver was looking at her.

The way everyone was looking at Kara confused Barry about the relationship between Oliver and Kara. It seemed like everyone in the room knew his fianceé, and he started questioning if Kara was cheating on him or keeping important things about her past from him.

There was one thing that Kara could read on Barry's face is that they had a lot to talk about.
