Third P.O.V

Continuing from where we left off, we move to an open field where we see Koyori and Mr. Guerrero standing as their first vanguard.

"I ride Blackboard Parrot!(6000)" Mr. Guerrero declares.

"Diabolic Regalia of Independence, Lilith!(5000)" Koyori declares.

Blackboard Parrot gasped in silence upon seeing what unit Koyori rode as her first vanguard. "Diabolic Regalia of Independence... Lilith?"

Returning to the real world.

(Match Start: Mr. Guerrero's turn)

Mr. Guerrero starts his turn by drawing the top card of his deck. After putting the drawn card into his hand, he takes out a grade one card from his hand and rides it.

"I ride Monoculus Tiger(8000)."

Before Mr. Guerrero ends his turn, he uses Blackboard Parrot's when ridden skill to draw another card.

"I end my turn."

(End Turn)

Koyori: Hand 5, Damage 0, Soul 0

Mr. Guerrero: Hand 6, Damage 0, Soul 1

(Koyori's turn)

"My turn. I draw for turn..." Koyori looks at the card she drew. "I skip my ride phase and move to my main phase."

"You're skipping your ride phase?!" Akira asked.

"I activate Diabolic Regalia of Independence, Lilith's skill. At the beginning of my main phase, I can return all cards in my hand back into the deck." Koyori places her entire hand cards on the top of her deck. She then grabs her entire deck and searches her deck for a card, "From my deck, I superior ride Virus Celestial, Lilith(8000)!"

After Koyori rides her grade one, she shuffles her deck. After shuffling her deck, Koyori places her deck down and draws two cards from her deck.

"An Angel Feather unit…?" Aleit thought as she glanced at the card Koyori rode.

"By revealing the Harmonics Messiah in my G zone to my opponent, I acquire a Guardian Shield ticket," Koyori reveals her Harmonics Messiah to Mr. Guerrero and puts a Guardian Shield ticket in her hand.

"I call Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith(8000) to the top right!"

"An Aqua Force unit?!" Toshiro exclaimed in surprise.

Koyori activities Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith's skill, "Since my vanguard is Lilith, I can soulcharge one." Koyori places the top card of her deck into her vanguard soul.

(Battle Phase)

"My vanguard attacks Monoculus Tiger!"

(8000 VS 8000)

"No guard."

"Drive check…" Koyori turned over the top card of her deck and revealed Masker Lilith, a front trigger. "I give my front row +10k power-"

"Wait!" Toshiro interrupts. "You can't activate the trigger effect if you don't have any units with the same clan as that trigger!"

"As long as my starting vanguard Diabolic Regalia of Independence, Lilith, I can use any card with the name Lilith and have them be treated as the same clan and nation as my vanguard for the rest of the cardfight!" Koyori explains.

The three Cardfight Club members look surprised at Koyori's explanation, "Say what-?!"

(Virus Celestial, Lilith: 8000 + 10,000)

(Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith: 8000 + 10,000)

"Damage check." Mr. Guerrero turned over the top card of his deck and revealed a grade three, no trigger. He placed the revealed card into the damage zone.

"Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith attacks the vanguard!" Koyori swings with her rearguard for 18k.

"I guard with Curious Pony!"

(18,000 VS 23,000)

"With that, I end my turn."

(End Turn)

Koyori: Hand 3, Damage 0, Soul 2

Mr. Guerrero: Hand 5, Damage 1, Soul 1

(Mr. Guerrero's turn)

Mr. Guerrero smirks as he draws the top card of his deck, "A hybrid deck consisting of units with the name Lilith. A very fitting deck for a woman with countless possibilities."

Mr. Guerrero takes out a card from his hand and rides it, "I ride Binoculus Tiger(9000)."

Mr. Guerreromoves to his main phase and calls: Crayon Tiger(9000) to the top left and Silver Wolf(8000) to the top right.

(Battle Phase)

"Binoculus Tiger attacks your vanguard. Skill activities!" Mr. Guerrero activities Binoculas Tiger's skill to mill the top card of his deck. The milled card is a critical trigger.

"Since the milled card is a trigger, I retire Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith, and give three of my front row units +5000 power!"

Koyori retires her rearguard Lilith.

(Crayon Tiger: 9000 + 5000)

(Binoculus Tiger: 9000 + 5000)

(Silver Wolf: 8000 + 5000)

(14,000 VS 8000)

"No guard!"

"Drive check." Mr. Guerrero turned over the top card of his deck and revealed School Hunter, Leo-pald, a grade three.

"Damage check…" Koyori's damage check revealed a grade two.

"Silver Wolf attacks your vanguard."

(13,000 VS 8000)

"Damage check…" Koyori's damage check revealed a grade three.

"Crayon Tiger attacks!"

"No guard!" Koyori let the attack hit. She turned over the top card of her deck and revealed a critical trigger. "When Seal Dragon Dancer, Lilith is revealed for my damage check, I draw one."

"I end my turn."

(End Turn)

Koyori: Hand 4, Damage 3, Soul 2

Mr. Guerrero: Hand 4, Damage 1, Soul 2

(Koyori's turn)

"Stand and draw!" Koyori looked at the card she drew for the turn, she then nodded to herself and skipped her ride phase. "At the beginning of my main phase, I activate Virus Celestial, Lilith's skill! I return a card from my damage zone to the deck to superior ride Scar Claw Lilith(9000) from my deck."

After returning a card from her damage zone to the deck, Koyori searches her deck for Scar Claw Lilith and immediately rides it. She then shuffles her deck afterward, "If I ride this way, I draw two cards."

"I call Despicable Mutant, Lilith(9000) to the top right. Using its skill, I can discard a card from my hand and put a Cradle marker on one of your rearguards." Koyori discards a grade one from her hand and puts a Cradle marker on Mr. Guerrero's Crayon Tiger.

"You can even cradle my rear guard? -Hmph, you're one nasty kid, Koyori." Mr. Guerrero remarked with a smirk.

"Next I call Fallen Witch Doctor of the Seven Seas, Lilith(9000)," Koyori calls the called unit to the top left. "Skill activities! I can call a grade one or less card from my drop." Koyori calls the grade one, Blood Chouchou, Lilith to the bottom left.

(Battle Phase)

"Despicable Mutant, Lilith attacks Binoculas Tiger!"

(9000 VS 9000)

"No guard." Mr. Guerrero's damage check revealed a grade two.

"With a boost from Blood Chouchou, Lilith, Fallen Witch Doctor of the Seven Seas attacks Binoculas Tiger!"

(17,000 VS 9000)

"I guard." Mr. Guerrero drops a Monoculus Tiger on the guardian circle.

(17,000 VS 19,000)

"At the end of the battle Blood Chouchou, Lilith boosted a unit," Koyori paid a counterblast and tugged Despicable Mutant, Lilith on the bottom of her deck. She draws a card from her deck and calls Danes Blood Musketeer, Lilith from her hand to the top right, "Also, using Fallen Witch Doctor of the Seven Seas, Lilith's skill, I can retire this unit to draw one and countercharge one—Using Danes Blood Musketeer, Lilith's skill, I shuffle back two non-trigger cards from my drop back into the deck and draw one."

After drawing a card from her deck, she swings with her vanguard. "Drive check." Koyori's drive check revealed a grade one, no trigger.

"Damage check." Mr. Guerrero's damage check revealed another grade two.

"Danes Blood Musketeer, Lilith attacks Silver Wolf."

(8000 VS 8000)

"I don't guard." Mr. Guerrero retires the attacked unit.

"I end my turn."

(End Turn)

Koyori: Hand 6, Damage 2, Soul 3

Mr. Guerrero: Hand 3, Damage 3, Soul 2

(Mr. Guerrero's turn)

"Well done, Koyori~" Mr. Guerrero gave Koyori a sudden applause. "I didn't expect you would be this good at Vanguard for simply sticking up for someone. But who am I to judge…"

Mr. Guerrero gently draws the top card for his turn and puts the drawn card into his hand. He then moves his right index finger along the cards in his hand before stopping at a card on the far right. "Alrighty then, I think it's time for my REAL session to begin." Mr. Guerrero reveals the Leo-pald in his hand to Koyori.

Koyori suddenly gulps at Mr Guerrero's remark.

"Slash through the injustice and uncover the truth! Ride! School Hunter, Leo-pald!(12,000)" Mr. Guerrero slammed the card on the vanguard causing the scene to flash before Koyori's eyes.

As the scene transitions to Cray, we see Koyori standing as Scar Claw Lilith while Mr. Guerrero stands as Leo-pald.

Leo-pald stares down at Scar Claw Lilith and roars at her. Scar Claw Lilith backs away in fear as she feels intimated by how strong Leo-pald's roar just now.

Returning to the real world, Mr. Guerrero continues his turn. "Imaginary gift, Accel II!" Mr. Guerrero placed the gift on the top left and draw one.

"Leo-pald's skill." Mr. Guerrero activates Leo-pald's skill to mill the top card of his deck. The milled card was a normal unit. Mr. Guerrero looks at the top four cards of his deck and calls: Blusher Paroquet and Mikesaburo to the right column.

"Using the skill of the Coiling Duckbill that I just milled, I put this card into my hand. Using Blusher Paroquet's skill, I can add a grade 3 card from among them to my hand."

Mr. Guerrero looks at the top seven cards of his decks and adds another Leo-pald to his hand.

(Blusher Paroquet: 9000 + 3000)

"Using Mikesaburo's skill, I give Blusher Paroquet a skill. Additionally, I call Coiling Duckbill(8000) to the bottom left and Leo-pald to the Accel circle!"

(Battle Phase)

"With a boost from Mikesaburo, Blusher Paroquet attacks your vanguard."

(19,000 VS 9000)

"I guard with Masker Lilith!"

(19,000 VS 24,000)

"My vanguard Leo-pald attacks your vanguard!"

(12,000 VS 9000)

"No guard."

"Twin drive. First check..." Mr. Guerrero's first check reveals a draw trigger. "Power to the rearguard Leo-pald and I draw one."

(Leo-pald (Accel): 12,000 + 10,000)

"Second check! I got a heal trigger! Power to Blusher Paroquet and I heal one point of damage."

(Blusher Paroquet: 12,000 + 10,000)

"Damage check—No trigger."

"My rearguard Leo-pald attacks your vanguard!"

(27,000 VS 9000)

"No guard. Damage check—I got a critical trigger! Power to my vanguard!"

(Scar Claw Lilith: 9000 + 10,000)

"With a boost from Coiling Duckbill, my cradled Crayon Tiger attacks Danes Blood Musketeer, Lilith!"

(17,000 VS 8000)

"No guard." Koyori retired the attacked unit.

Moving to the end phase, Mr. Guerrero resolves all of his end phase skills. "That's all for my turn." He said as he ended his turn by drawing a card using Coiling Duckbill's skill.

(End Turn)

Koyori: Hand 5, Damage 4, Soul 3

Mr. Guerrero: Hand 9, Damage 2, Soul 1

(Koyori's turn)

"Alright, now show me what you are capable of doing." Mr. Guerrero demands.

Koyori nodded at Mr. Guerrero. "Stand and draw." Koyori looks at the card she drew. She moves to her main phase and activates her vanguard's skill.

"At the beginning of my ride phase, I can put a card from my hand into the soul as the cost." Koyori puts Serpent of Desire, Lilith from her hand into the soul. She then grabs a grade three card from her deck and shuffles the deck after searching for the card.

Koyori held onto the card and stared at it as she began to see visions of a giant humanoid machine chained somewhere in a prison cell covered by a thick fog, snarling to itself while numerous screams could be heard.

Once Koyori snapped back, she took a deep breath.

"Embrace the mist of the unknown cell. Now walk the same path as your creator and become the Supreme Empress of Lust! Blood ride!" Koyori raises the card upward before slamming it down on the vanguard circle.

The screen transitions back to Cray as we see Scar Claw Lilith suddenly grunting and holding onto her face. She then begins to scratch her face using her claws before finally ripping it apart, causing her eyes to bleed black blood as she screams in agony while releasing an immense energy pulse that envelopes her entire body.

"Arg-!" Leo-pald was taken by surprise by Lilith's immense power.

Scar Claw Lilith disappears from Leo-pald's sight, and standing in her place is a figure sitting on a throne, crossing their legs and looking down at Leo-pald with their glowing purple eyes. The figure stands up from the throne, and as they do, the throne transforms into a sword with a massive red blade, stabbed into the ground.

"Shadow of Lilith, "Qarinah" Lucifall!(13,000)"

Lucifall stands tall as a woman wearing a vampire-style outfit with an undersuit that resembles a black and white striped prison uniform. She has red crimson hair and purple eyes. Her face resembles that of a corpse with a single fang sticking out of her mouth. She also has what appears to be a prosthetic left arm and a prosthetic right leg.

Lucifall pulls the sword out of the ground using her right hand and points the massive sword at Leo-pald, looking at him with a cocky smirk.

"Your final destination… is the Faceless Coward~!"

Returning to the real world.

"Shadow of Lilith… "Qarinah" Lucifall?"

Everyone looked surprised at the unit that Koyori just rode. Shadow of Lilith, "Qarinah" Lucifall is a grade three card with 13k power and twin drive. It doesn't have a clan or a nation.

"Since I ride this way, I can add a grade 3 card from my deck to my hand. And using Serpent of Desire, Lilith's skill, when its put into the soul, I can give my vanguard +10k power!"

(Lucifall: 13,000 + 10,000)

Koyori adds Serpent of Desire, Lilith from her deck to her hand.

"I activate Lucifall's skill! If there are three or more cards in my damage zone, I can put a card from my drop on the bottom of my deck, and put a card from my damage zone into the soul."

"That means your damage is automatically reduced," Toshiro speaks up.

"And that's not all!" Koyori interrupts. "If my opponent's vanguard is grade 3 or greater…" Koyori swipes the top five cards of her deck and calls two cards from among them to rearguard circles. Koyori calls Scar Claw Lilith to the top left and Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith to the bottom right.

"You called reinforcement?" Mr. Guerrero asked, raising an eyebrow.

After soulcharging a card using Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith's skill, she puts her Scar Claw Lilith in charged state. Next, Koyori calls: Lucifall to the top left and Masker Lilith behind the vanguard. She activates Masker Lilith's skill by shoving it into soul.

(Battle Phase)

"With a boost from Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith, my rearguard Lucifall attacks your vanguard. Using Lucifall's skill, when a unit with Lilith in its card name attacks, my opponent chooses a card from their drop, and vanishes it."

(Explanation time: When a card is turned face down in drop, it is vanished from public knowledge. The card will lose its name, grade, and abilities for the rest of the fight. This is similar to the Deletor's Vanish Delete mechanic, except instead of binding face down, you directly flip the card face down in drop.)

Mr. Guerrero flips a card in his drop. The attack then continues.

(21,000 VS 12,000)

"No guard. Damage check—I got a critical trigger!" Mr. Guerrero put the revealed card into the damage zone.

(Leo-pald (VC): 12,000 10,000)

"Scar Claw Lilith attacks Crayon Tiger. Lucifall's skill, my opponent vanishes a card in their drop. And using Scar Claw Lilith's skill…"

Koyori puts a card from her hand into soul to look at the top four cards of her deck. She calls Danes Blood Musketeer, Lilith behind the vanguard.

"Since Scar Claw Lilith was charged, I can soulblast two to countercharge one. Now using Danes Blood Musketeer, Lilith's skill, I draw one."

(17,000 VS 9000)

Mr. Guerrero vanishes a card in his drop and lets the attack hit. Because the attacked unit has a Cradle marker on it, Koyori adds the grade two card Despicable Mutant, Lilith straight from her deck to her hand.

Koyori puts Scar Claw Lilith on the bottom of her deck once the attack finishes. "Now with a boost from Danes Blood Musketeer, Lilith, my vanguard attacks your vanguard! I activate Lucifall's ultimate skill, by soulblasting four cards with different card names, I return the rearguard Lucifall and Blood Chouchou, Lilith to the bottom of my deck. Now thanks to this, I can put all cards from my damage zone on the bottom of my deck."

"What-?!" everyone looks surprised.

"After returning all cards in my damage zone to the deck, I deal my vanguard three damage, and give my vanguard 2 drives—In other words, this skill allows me to perform seven drive checks!"

"S-S-Seven drive checks…?" Akira looks terrified at how powerful Lucifall's skill is.

"Damage check..." Koyori's three damage checks were: A critical trigger, grade one, and a heal trigger. "Thanks to Masker Lilith's skill, I can stand Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith." Koyori re-stood Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith.

(Lucifall: 23,000 + 10,000/ Critical +1)

(Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith: 8000 + 10,000)

(33,000 VS 22,000)

Mr. Guerrero hurriedly took action by discarding a card from his hand, "Complete guard!"

"Quadruple drive!" Koyori drive checks reveal: a critical, two grade ones, and a front.

(Lucifall: 33,000 + 10,000)

(Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith: 18,000 + 10,000)

"At the end of the battle that my vanguard attacked, since I soulblasted Diabolic Regalia of Independence, Lilith for the cost of my vanguard's ability. I can superior call this card to the top right!"

(Diabolic Regalia of Independence, Lilith: 5000 + 15,000)

"With a boost from Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilit, Diabolic Regalia of Independence, Lilith attacks your vanguard! Using Lucifall's skill, my opponent vanishes a card in their drop."

(48,000 VS 22,000)

"No guard. Damage check." Mr. Guerrero's damage check revealed a grade one. Mr. Guerrero put the revealed card into the damage zone, making him at four damage.

"At the end of my turn, Diabolic Regalia of Independence, Lilith moves to the soul. Using Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith's skill, since I attack four times this turn, I retire this unit, and draw one."

Koyori draws a card from the top card of her deck. Koyori now has ten cards in her hand, "I end my turn."

(End Turn)

Koyori: Hand 10, Damage 2, Soul 4

Mr. Guerrero: Hand 7, Damage 4, Soul 1, Vanished Card: 3

(Mr. Guerrero's turn)

"My turn! Stand and draw!" Mr. Guerrero draws a critical stride fodder. He immediately discards the drawn card and swipes the top card of his G zone, "Stride Generation! Omniscience Dragon, Caladrius!"

"Now I call!" Mr. Guerrero calls: Curious Pony to the top left, Monoculus Tiger to the bottom left, Coiling Duckbill behind the vanguard, and Crayon Tiger to the top right.

"Thanks to Coiling Duckbill, my rearguard Leo-pald gains a skill! Next, I play the order card, "Soul of Greed!"."

"And what does that do?" Koyori asked.

"By putting this order into the soul, I can draw two!" Mr. Guerrero puts the order into the soul and draw two cards from the top of his deck.

"Time to get to work!" Mr. Guerrero declared as he readjusted his tie. "Omniscience Dragon, Caladrius'a skill! I can give all of my front row rearguards 10,000 power, and at the end of the turn, those rearguards that got the power are retired."

(Leo-pald (Accel): 12,000 + 10,000)

(Curious Pony: 4000 + 10,000)

(Crayon Tiger: 9000 + 10,000)

(Battle Phase)

"Curious Pony attacks your vanguard."

(22,000 VS 13,000)

"No guard. Damage Check..." Koyori's damage check revealed a grade three.

"Leo-pald attacks Lucifall!"

(27,000 VS 13,000)

"I guard with Steam Maiden, Lilith!"

(27,000 VS 28,000)

"With a boost from Mikesaburo, Crayon Tiger attacks your vanguard! Skill activates!" Mr. Guerrero re-stand his rearguard Leo-pald and give it +4k power.

(Leo-pald (Accel): 22,000 + 4000)

(26,000 VS 13,000)

"No guard. Damage check—I got a heal trigger!" Koyori throws the revealed card into her damage zone.

(Lucifall: 13,000 + 10,000)

"Again! Leo-Pald attacks Lucifall!"

(31,000 VS 23,000)

"I guard!" Koyori drops two cards from her hand with the combined shield power of 10k.

(31,000 VS 33,000)

"With a boost from Coiling Duckbill, Omniscience Dragon, Caladrius attacks your vanguard!" Mr. Guerrero swings with his vanguard. "Curious Pony's skill! I move it into soul and draw one. I give my vanguard 10,000 power. And using my vanguard's skill, I can stand Leo-pald and give it a skill."

(44,000 VS 23,000)

"44k, huh? In that case, I guard with two critical sentinels! Seal Dragon Dancer, Lilith!"

(44,000 VS 83,000)

"Triple drive." Mr. Guerrero's first and second drive checks revealed two grade ones. "Third check!" the third card is a critical trigger.

(Leo-pald (Accel): 26,000 + 10,000/ Critical +1)

"Once more, Leo-pald attacks Lucifall!"

Right as Mr. Guerrero swings with his rearguard Leo-pald, the scene smoothly transitions to Cray with Lucifall clashing with Leo-pald.

Lucifall repeals Leo-pald with her sword and recovers from the impact of the blow.

"Dammit!" Lucifall cussed.

"Leo-pald's skill! When it attacks, if my opponent were to guard from their hand, they must guard with three or more cards at the same time!"

Leo-pald roars at Lucifall and charges forward. Once Leo-pald is close, Lucifall extends her right hand and summons a force field. Leo-pald crashes into the force field and bounces away from Lucifall.

Returning to the real world, we see Koyori holding the Guardian Shield ticket in her hand. "I play the blitz order, "Guardian Shield!". Thanks to this I can give Lucifall 20k power!"

Because Koyori played a blitz order, Koyori didn't have to use three or more cards in her hand to guard Leo-pald's attack.

"Looks like you escape; for now. I end my turn. Due to Caladrius' skill, all my front row rearguards are forced to retire. Using Coiling Duckbill and Crayon Tiger's skill, I draw two."

Mr. Guerrero concluded his turn by holding nine cards in his hand.

(End Turn)

Koyori: Hand 4, Damage 4, Soul 4

Mr. Guerrero: Hand 9, Damage 4, Soul 3, Vanished Card: 3

(Koyori's turn)

"I'm not giving up that easily! Stand and draw!" After drawing her card for the turn, Koyori looks at her board and the cards in her hand.

"I activate Lucifall's skill!" Koyori puts Fallen Witch Doctor of the Seven Seas, Lilith on the bottom of her deck as the cost. Koyori puts a grade three from her damage zone into soul.

Koyori grabs the top five cards and looks through them. "Okay! I call Blood Chouchou, Lilith!" Koyori calls Blood Chouchou, Lilith to the bottom left.

"Danes Blood Musketeer, Lilith's skill!" Koyori paid a counterblast and retired Danes Blood Musketeer, Lilith to look at the top three cards of her deck. Koyori calls Fallen Witch Doctor of the Seven Seas, Lilith to the top right and Despicable Mutant, Lilith to the top left. She put the remaining one remaining card on the bottom of her deck.

"Fallen Witch Doctor of the Seven Seas, Lilith's skill! I call Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith to the bottom left! Using it and Blood Chouchou, Lilith's skill, I soulcharge two! I call Despicable Mutant, Lilith behind the vanguard! And thanks to its skill, I put a Cradle marker on Coiling Duckbill!"

"What do you think you are doing, Koyori?" Mr. Guerrero asked, confused by Koyori's strategy.

"Time for me to show you my true power!" Koyori declared, taking a face down card in her G zone. "I activate Lilith Vemoirar's skill in the G zone!"

"By putting four rearguards into soul, I can Blood Stride this card on my vanguard circle." Koyori puts: two Despicable Mutant, Liliths, Fallen Witch Doctor of the Seven Seas, Lilith, and Blood Chouchou, Lilith into soul.

"Unite and conquer the planets! Blood Stride! Now appear, the horrible Space Beast!" Koyori slammed the card on the vanguard circle causing the scene to shift.

Moving to Cray, we see Leo-pald staring up at the sky and witnessing a gigantic beast descending from a black hole resembling a mouth. The creature drops down to the ground, causing a massive shockwave as it crashes down.

"Alternative Venom Beast, Lilith Vemoirar!"

Lilith Vemoirar roars at Leo-pald upon its arrival.

Returning to the real world.

"Lilith Vemoirar's skill. I put a card from my damage zone into soul and give my opponent's vanguard -10k power."

(Leo-pald: 12,000 - 10,000)

"I call Lucifall to the top left!"

(Battle Phase)

"Battle! Lilith Vemoirar attacks your vanguard!" Koyori swings with her vanguard.

(28,000 VS 2000)

"I guard!" Mr. Guerrero guard with four cards.

(28,000 VS 37,000)

"Also…" Mr. Guerrero discards a heal trigger from his hand and grabs the top card of his G zone. "Generation Guard! Sheltered Heiress, Spangled! Skill activities, I give my four other guardians a skill."

(28,000 VS 52,000)

"Triple drive." Koyori drive checks reveal: a critical, a front, and a grade three.

(Lucifall: 13,000 + 20,000)

(Lilith Vemoirar: 28,000 + 10,000/ Critical +1)

"Lilith Vemoirar'skill activates!" Koyori discards a card from her hand. "At the end of that battle this unit attacked, if my opponent has four or more cards in their damage zone, I can return all my grade 3 cards from my soul and drop back to my deck—I'm returning eight grade 3 cards back to my deck. Since I returned seven or more cards, I re-stand my vanguard."

"Thanks to Spangled's skill, I draw four cards!" Mr. Guerrero draws four cards once his four guardians drop into his drop.

"Once more, my vanguard attacks!"

(38,000 VS 2000)

"Complete guard!" Mr. Guerrero nullifies the attack using a PG.

"Drive check!" Koyori turned over the top card of her deck and revealed a critical trigger. "I got a critical trigger! All effects to Lucifall!"

(Lucifall: 33,000 + 10,000/ Critical +1)

"With a boost from Blue Wave Fallen Soldier, Lilith, Lucifall attacks School Hunter, Leo-pald!" As Koyori declares the last attack, the scene smoothly transitions to Cray with Lucifall running along the ground, dragging her sword on the ground.

Lucifall kicked herself off the ground, causing three pairs of bat wings to appear on her back. Lucifall gathered all of the dark energy from Vemoirar before transferring it all to her sword. Lucifall dives down and glides herself towards Leo-pald.

slash!

Lucifall appeared behind Leo-pald in a kneeling position with her sword thrust forward. Lucifall stood back up on her feet and stabbed her sword in front of her before declaring, "Your journey ends here."

The cuts that Lucifall delivered to Leo-pald begin to appear around its body. Leo-pald suddenly starts losing his balance and falls unconscious, leaving a big thud sound behind as his body begins to bleed. Exiting from Cray, we move back to the real world and see Mr. Guerrero at six damage. His fifth and sixth cards were a critical trigger and Leo-pald.

(Match Ended)

Koyori P.O.V

The match concluded with me being the victor.

"Looks like I lost. Well, this is unexpected." Mr. Guerrero admitted his defeat as he placed his hand cards on the table.

That was intense. Every moment just now felt almost so real to the point of me sweating like crazy.

After I calmed myself down and wiped off my sweat, I placed my hand cards on the table and bowed at Mr. Guerrero, "Thank you for the match, Mr. Guerrero. I had a lot of fun cardfighthing you."

Mr. Guerrero smiles at me and bows in return, "Likewise, thank you for being my opponent, Koyori."

Seconds later…

"Here you go."

I finished writing my name on the club registration form. I handed the form to Akira and had him confirm it for himself.

"Thank you for your cooperation. You are now officially a member of the Cardfight Club." Akira confirmed.

"I look forward to working with you all," I said as I bowed to the rest of the club members.

"M-Me, too." Toshiro stutterers.

"Looks like I need to step up on my game a bit more." Mr. Guerrero chuckles to himself as he leans his back against the wall while holding his deck in his hand. "I guess you were really serious when you meant it, Koyori. That being said, I hope you can deliver that promise to all of us."

"I won't let everyone down. I promise."

Mr. Guerrero nods at my determination, "Very well then, I expect nothing less from you, Koyori."

It appears that Mr. Guerrero has trusted me as an ally. "Alright, everyone, I think it's about time we leave for the day. So, who is in charge of cleaning the club room today?"

"It's me, Mr. Guerrero." Aleit raised her hand.

Time Skip to back home.

"You joined the Cardfight Club?"

As I helped Issei clean up the leftover dishes, I told him that I had joined the Cardfight Club.

"Yeah. I figured that since I'm already a cardfighter, might as well join the Cardfight Club while I'm at it. I just wasn't aware that the club has a bad relationship with the student council."

"Student councils are typically very strict when it comes to after-school activities. The idea of having a club dedicated to a children's card game really puts to show that the school never took any of their student's interests to their liking."

"Is it though? I mean, from the list of available clubs they advertise on the bulletin board, they allowed an Occult Research Club. That sounds way more useless and kinda shady now that I think about it."

I don't know who or why someone in their mind would think that an Occult Research Club would be a good addition to an after-school activity. But then again, people's freedom is far beyond what the eye can see.

"Okay, you've got a point, Koyori," Issei admitted, conceding to my facts. "I think the only reason they allowed an Occult Research Club in the first place is that the previous principal was said to be a cult member."

"You serious?!" I wasn't expecting such an unexpected twist!

"Yeah! I don't know much about the details but the reason why there are two school buildings now was probably because the current school principal ain't touching any of those old school building properties. That's probably the reason why the Occult Research Club is only in the old school building rather than the current school building-"

"Actually, Issei…" A tall girl with long black hair and violet eyes enters our conversation, holding a cup of ocha. This is Akeno Himejima, one of the many house residents and our third-year class senior at our school.

"The reason why the Occult Research Club was even allowed in the first place was more along the lines of the old school building used to be a cult gathering place—I think it was around the early 1980s that some of the local residents in Kuoh became aware of supernatural phenomena, like ghost, demons, and even Chthonic gods. But after the cult died down during the late 2000s, the place became a private girls' school, before eventually becoming the current school we know today."

I was astonished by the history of the school. To think that the old school building was previously used as a cult gathering place was something more than just an excuse to allow an Occult Research Club for an after-school activity.

"Say, Koyori, I heard from Irina that you join the Cardfight Club," Akeno said.

"Yeah, I did," I replied. "The club was fun and I got to meet other people who enjoy playing Vanguard. I even got to have a match with Mr. Guerrero, my homeroom teacher."

"You fought Mr. Guerrero in a cardfight?" Issei asked.

"Yeah," I replied. "He's definitely not someone I like to mess with, both as a teacher and a cardfighter. He has that... what do you call it? Good cop, bad cop energy?"

Akeno nodded. "I can see why you'd think that. Mr. Guerrero was a police officer before he became our history teacher. I guess he still has that good cop, bad cop vibe."

"Everything about Mr. Guerrero seems so serious. I wonder why he stopped being a police officer?" Issei wondered.

"Who knows? Police officers are serious about their jobs and the justice system. Maybe Mr. Guerrero wants to start a new life after serving as a police officer," Akeno suggests as a reason for Mr. Guerrero's career change.

It's a good reason, but I think there is more to Mr. Guerrero than I can assume. For now, I'd better keep this information to myself rather than be suspicious of him. It's rude to bad-mouth an adult, especially to a former police officer who just so happens to be my homeroom teacher.

After finishing cleaning the dishes with Issei, I exit the living room as I stretch out my arms.

"Glad that's done…"

"Koyori!"

"Hmm…" I turned around and saw another house resident, a girl with blonde hair and green hair, approaching me

"Do you need something, Asia?" I asked.

"This just came in the mail. It's addressed to you." Asia extended her arms, holding an envelope.

"Ah!" I recognized the familiar seal instantly. I took the envelope from Asia. "Thanks for bringing it to me, Asia."

"No problem, I'm just happy to help," Asia said.

Alone in Koyori's room.

I took the envelope to my room, opened it, and pulled out a card stamp and a letter. "A card stamp?" Is this their way of keeping track of everyone's score? Kinda old school, I must say, but efficient nonetheless. I better not lose it.

I set the card stamp aside and read what the letter had in store.

The letter had the words "Supreme Empress of Lust VS Supreme Emperor of Greed" on it. There is the location where it's going to take place. "Tomorrow midnight, Kuoh Academy."

"My first opponent is the Supreme Emperor of Greed…"

My hands are shaking. I wonder what kind of opponent I will be facing tomorrow.

Meanwhile…

Third P.O.V

Moving away from Koyori's room, we move to another part of town and see Mr. Guerrero leaning his arms on his apartment's balcony, eating a bowl of goat stew.

"Looks like I'm up first, huh? He… this should be exciting," he said, finishing his meal.

After Mr. Guerrero cleaned up the bowl he used, he sat on top of his bed af grabbed his vanguard deck that was lying next to a desk beside his bed.

"Looks like I'm not going to hold back on you this time, Koyori."

Mr. Guerrero pulls a card from his deck and holds it in his right hand. The card was "Outlaw School Enforcer, Cheetador", the Supreme Emperor of Greed.

With a calm smile, Mr. Guerrero says, "Que Dios reparta suerte."

(Off-topic daily facts: Snakes)

"Did you know that some snakes can predict earthquakes? Well, sort of. There's a belief in some cultures that snakes can sense seismic activity and will come out of their hiding spots before an earthquake hits. However, scientists haven't found concrete evidence to support this claim. So, if you see a snake slithering around, it might just be on its own agenda, not trying to warn you about an impending earthquake!"
