As always, thanks for the support and I hope you enjoy the chapter! Let me know what you think!
The last thing Jaune Arc expected to see when he opened their door to get his team to breakfast was Blake Belladonna shuffling nervously outside.
"Uhhh. What's up, Blake?" Jaune blinked as Blake cringed at his voice while looking to the side.
Well, that's just rude.
Following her gaze, Jaune sees Ruby pouting at her while the rest of her team looked at them curiously.
"I don't understand why I'm the only one doing this." Blake grumbled and Jaune tilted his head in confusion even as his team crammed themselves behind him.
"Doing what exactly?" He asked with a worried look on his face.
He remembers how badly yesterday went and he had no wish to go through something similar again first day in the morning.
Before Blake could answer however, Nora shoved him out of the door and right into Blake's arms.
"Is Blake confessing to Jaune-Jaune?!" Nora gasped behind him.
His blue eyes widened in shock as he inadvertently takes Blake into his arms with her own arms pushing up against his chest as she stumbled flusteredly.
Soft. Blake was really really soft and Jaune blushed as her scent wafted through his nose.
Those were the only things he managed to process before he suddenly got pulled back away from her.
"What?!" Pyrrha shouted heatedly, her hand gripping the back of Jaune's uniform.
"I-I'm not! I came here to apologize!" Blake denied panickedly with a blush on her face, as she looked at him pleadingly.
Jaune froze at that as his eyes glanced at Blake's teammates before flicking back at her with a frown on his face.
"Apologize? For yesterday? What about them?"
Confusion takes over embarrassment as he turned to point at Blake's teammates.
"I stand by what I said and I won't apologize for it." Weiss scoffed as Yang nodded beside her.
"Same. I'm just here to watch Blake because she is weak enough to fall for Ruby's puppy dog eyes." Yang grinned as she pointed a thumb at Ruby.
"Hey! You guys were being mean to Jaune!"
Jaune cringed at the notion that a 15 year-old girl has to defend his honor from him.
"I-It's okay, Ruby. They don't have to apologize if they don't want to."
"No, Ruby's right." Blake piped in after taking a deep breath, getting everyone's attention.
"Blake?"
"Ruby was right, Jaune. We've been mean-"
"Ahem, speak for yourself."
"Yeah, you're the one who was disgusted at the thought that he's the Rusted Knight. I was just in disbelief."
Personally, Jaune would say that they were also a bit mean yesterday but he really couldn't deny that it was really Blake's reaction that gave him the biggest damage.
She seemed to realize it as well because she cringes in shame at their words.
"Right...I was mean and I apologize for it."
"Uhhh, right. I appreciate it, Blake."
"You don't understand, Jaune. I may have had my reasons to not want to believe you but those reasons do not justify how unfairly I treated you. And...I'm really sorry for it. I know personally how it is to be treated unfairly."
Jaune blinked at Blake's heartfelt apology and was it just his imagination or did her bow just move?
Regardless, Jaune slowly shook his head with a smile on his face.
"Thanks, Blake. I really appreciate it and I accept your apology."
"You're welcome." Blake says with a sigh of relief, looking at Ruby's approving face.
"Does this mean you're no longer disgusted at the thought of me being the Rusted Knight?" Jaune teased with a smile, wanting to further lighten the mood. He does not expect Blake's blunt reply however.
"Oh no, I still very much am."
Jaune's face suddenly falls at that.
"What?! You just said you were sorry!"
Blake's eyes widen at his words, her brain finally catching up with her words.
"I am! I really am but...I have my reasons...personal reasons." She shouts immediately, raising her hands up defensively before weakly looking away from him in embarrassment.
Ruby piped in at that, frowning at Blake while putting her hands on her hips.
"Blakeeee, this isn't just because of some personal bias against Jaune, is it? If it is then I don't think you really are sorry."
"No! No! I really am sorry! It's just that...they're really valid personal reasons." Blake repeats weakly and Jaune's shoulder slumps in defeat as he accepts that this was the best he was going to get.
"No, it's okay, Blake. You don't have to defend yourself. I can see you're apologetic enough." He finished weakly with a sigh.
Blake gritted her teeth in frustration at that and Jaune falters when she narrows her eyes at him with an embarrassed flush on her face.
"I...urgh...Jaune...come with me." She groaned slowly before reaching up with her hand to his tie.
"Wait, what-urgk!" His eyes widened but whatever Jaune expected to happen, it was not Blake dragging him off by his tie away from their teammates.
It was the last thing the others must've thought would happen too because they all stood gobsmacked at what they are seeing.
Only Nora moved if only to fan the flames of chaos even more.
"Oh snap! Is Blake really going to confess to Jaune-URK?!" Nora yelled before being chopped on the head by Ren with his hand.
"Don't jump to conclusions, Nora."
"Awww, but jumping to conclusions is fun." Nora pouted while rubbing her head.
It was not fun. Not when Jaune could see Yang's teasing glint and Pyrrha's growing concern even from a distance.
Thankfully, Blake didn't walk away that far. Only taking a far enough distance so they could still be in sight while not being heard while they whispered.
"Listen, Jaune, I don't think you're a bad guy but there is a very specific reason why I do not want you to be the Rusted Knight." Blake hissed as Jaune tilted his head in confusion.
"Okay...so you've repeatedly said but I'm still not hearing anything about this reason."
Jaune then has the pleasure of having a close view of Blake blushing bashfully in front of him.
His heart skipped a bit...in fear that is as she pushed him against the wall before suddenly glaring at him.
"Breathe one word of this to anyone and I will stab you, understood?" She hissed as she slowly fished a small notebook from one of her pockets.
Jaune gulped nervously as Blake...shakily pushed her notebook into his chest.
"Jaune...in this notebook...you will see why I do not want you or anyone else to be the Rusted Knight. I...hope with this you would be able to forgive me."
Jaune stood silent with his back against the wall and his jaw dropped as Blake squirmed uncomfortably.
He gulps nervously before opening his mouth.
"Blake...you don't have to do this. I already forgive you, you know?"
Blake stiffened in surprise at that before her body relaxes with a small sigh.
"Thank you, Jaune, but...I don't think Ruby will be satisfied if I at least don't give you the reason." She finishes slowly with a resigned smile on her face.
Jaune laughed nervously as he glanced back toward their group of friends who were looking at the both of them intensely.
"We...could always say you already did so even if we didn't?"
Blake let out a small laugh at that as she lowered her notebook into his hands.
"Already resorting to lying? Maybe Weiss was on to something when she said you could have been lying yesterday." Blake said but the teasing lilt in her voice removes any heat from it.
Jaune gasped in mock indignation as a smile crawls up on his face.
"Hey! I'll have you know I only lie when it is to save a beautiful maiden."
He gasped for real however when Blake decides to jab the notebook into his gut. He does not notice the blush on her cheeks as she speaks her mind.
"You dork. This is your last chance to read it if you want to."
His hands automatically clutched the notebook into him as he struggled to regain his breathing.
"Are you sure? Doesn't this contain a very personal and valid reason why you don't want me to be the Rusted Knight?"
"Just...read it before I change my mind."
He takes one look at her however and seeing her embarrassed face, Jaune moves to calm her nerves.
He holds the book with his left hand as his right lays over his chest.
"Blake, I promise you, Arc's word and an Arc never breaks their word, that I will neither share nor breath a word of this to anyone without your express permission." He promises solemnly amd he smiles as she gives him a grateful nod.
Raising the notebook in his hand, Jaune couldn't help but admit to himself that he was really curious about it.
This was the reason why Blake was mean to him yesterday after all.
And so he opens her notebook and sees words. Lines of words written in a tiny neat script.
She gasped as he pinned her against the wall with his rough hands. His armored form looming above her as he glared from behind his rusted helmet.
"You do not understand the gravity of what you are asking for, Princess."
He spoke with a deep masculine voice and Princess Kuroneko could not help but shiver at the effects he unknowingly has on her body. Yet still, her amber eyes glare defiantly at the Rusted Knight.
"I know enough that you are hurting and I know that I can help you. So please let me help you."
Ever since Kuroneko fell down to the Ever After and met the Rusted Knight, she has always been the one being helped.
Yet now that she had the means to help him in turn, she is refusing him? She could not have that. She could not have that at all.
Not when he was already suffering for a whole day under the curse of an aphrodisiac accidentally brewed by the Alchemist. She knew it was painful for him and Kuroneko imagines only his strict discipline made it possible for him to hide the effects from her.
Yet now that she knew however with his involuntary spasms and groans of pain, Kuroneko could hardly look away and refuse to help. As it is, they only had a matter of hours for them to calm him down before his heart bursts! At least, that's what the Alchemist said.
And so in a flash of inspiration and an application of her exceptional agility, Kuroneko hopped from her place to wrap her legs on his waist.
She could feel the Rusted Knight's surprise as his hands instinctively moved under her ass to carry her weight. Kuroneko moaned at the contact even as she moved her now free hands to hug him over his shoulders.
"Princess, please stop..." The Rusted Knight pleaded but Kuroneko could feel him shaking even under his armored form.
Their position was in no way comfortable with him still being armored but with the Rusted Knight pushing her against the wall, Kuroneko had all the leverage she needed to put a hand over his helmet.
"Just a kiss, my knight. It will just be a kiss. We will do nothing more but kiss." She whispered heatedly even as he froze at the feeling of her hand able to pull his helmet away.
It was going to be more than just a kiss but Kuroneko could worry about what they will do later as she smiled when he slowly nodded his head in acceptance.
Before pulling his helmet away however, Kuroneko closed her eyes as she knew the Rusted Knight was shy to show his face. It doesn't take long however before fireworks erupted in her mind as his lips make contact with hers in a searing kiss.
They did more than just kiss.
He was like a beast as he ravaged her mouth, one hand gaining purchase on her long dark hair-
NOPE! Nope, nope, nope!
Jaune was not going to read anymore as he suddenly slammed the notebook close. Seeing Blake's own blushing face, he pushed her notebook towards her as he , leaving her gobsmacked at his reaction as he rapidly stomped back to their friends.
"Really, Blake? Really?!" He yelled embarrassedly, shouting exaggeratedly and hoping no one notices the growing boner under his pants.
Blake took his reaction negatively however.
"You don't understand, Jaune! It would ruin the mystery! It would ruin everything! I would never be able to write again!" She shouted indignantly behind him, surprising all of their friends as they watch the two of them come nearer.
To be honest...he wouldn't have minded reading it more but he was in public damnit! Couldn't Blake have shown that to him in private where-
No! No, no, no! That line of thought was not helping him calm his junior down! He could perfectly imagine what two healthy teenagers like them could get up to while reading what amounts to as smut!
Amber eyes?! Long black hair?! Who was Blake kidding?! It was a damn self-insert if Jaune had ever read one!
"Finally-" Weiss started but Jaune walked past her as he pulled his team with him.
"Breakfast now!" He announced with a blush on his face, causing Weiss to splutter as his team followed worriedly.
"What was that, Jaune?" Pyrrha asked concernedly, walking briskly beside him.
"Nothing! It was nothing!" Jaune squealed hastily.
"It didn't sound like nothing to me." Pyrrha narrowed her eyes at him but Jaune kept his silence.
No way in hell was she going to mention it to anyone, even his partner. Not to mention, he did give Blake his word that he wouldn't breathe a word of it to anyone without her express permission. That doesn't stop his team from speculating however.
"Oh, oh, I know! Maybe Blake showed him something naughty!" Nora piped in before Ren could even manage to stop her.
Jaune blushed even more at how close Nora was yet again Jaune maintains his silence. He was neither going to confirm nor deny, making everyone turn to Blake in wonder.
"Seriously, what did you tell him?" Yang asked Blake as their teams approached the cafeteria
"Nothing. I apologized and told him why I acted like I did yesterday." Blake grumbled and Jaune could feel her staring at his back.
Sorry, Blake. He really didn't mind what she wrote but no way in hell was he going to pop a boner in front of his friends by reading her notebook.
Weiss already thought of him as a liar and everyone knew he faked his way into Beacon. He wasn't going to add being a pervert as part of his reputation.
"Well, you must've said something wrong because it seems like he just took back his forgiveness." Yang remarked and Jaune winced at that.
"I could hear you, you know? And no, I did not take back my forgiveness."
"What was that then?" Ruby piped in and Jaune stopped just outside the cafeteria's doors to look at all of them.
Jaune took the moment to glance meaningfully at Blake and he could see her freeze as their eyes met. He could literally see the moment her mind turn to fear.
Did she want him to tell them?
For one single moment, fear shot up through Blake's spine as she desperately shook her head at him.
"...It was private." He answered slowly and Jaune could see Blake nod slowly in gratitude.
"Ooookay. Are you both okay, though?" Ruby glanced worriedly at the two of them.
"We're good." He answered confidently because at the end of it all, he does appreciate Blake apologizing and explaining herself to him.
"Y-Yeah, we're good." Blake agreed with a sigh of relief.
"Finally, now can we all get some breakfast before we have to go to class?" Weiss grumbled impatiently at that.
And just like that, all their eyes widen as they rush inside cafeteria.
It didn't take long before they managed to secure a table and get some breakfast but before they could even really enjoy it, they hear a pained voice cry out.
"Ow! That hurts! Please, stop."
Jaune froze as he watched as a female Rabbit Faunus grimaced as a guy with orange hair pulled on her rabbit ears.
"I told you it was real!" The guy laughed as he turned to his teammates who laughed with him.
Bullying. He was actually witnessing bullying in Beacon.
"Atrocious, I can't stand people like him." Pyrrha said with a frown on her face.
"He's not the only one." Blake growled as she stared daggers at the guy's teammates.
"It must be hard to be a Faunus." Yang sighed sadly as Jaune shook his head at that.
"It shouldn't have to be." He mutters absently and he can see Blake snap her eyes toward him at that from the corner of his eyes.
"Someone should do something about that." Ruby frowned and Jaune nodded at that.
Someone should. Someone definitely should. Yet as everyone around them stayed seated, Jaune can't help but think about one thing.
What would the Rusted Knight do?
Jaune spent years being the Rusted Knight and throughout that time he had one set of clothing and a complete set of armor to his name.
As it is, he had to borrow some clothes from Oobleck just so he didn't had to wear the same clothes he wore yesterday.
So after receiving some news about Juniper from the Blacksmith and slogging through weird questions that basically equated to a checkup, Jaune was excited to finally get some time to go to Vale and get his own things again.
Yet it was not to be because just as Glynda was giving him a credit card and a scroll courtesy of Ozpin, they got called to settle a disturbance.
So instead of finally getting his own clothes...he had to suffer through Team CRDL was getting jumped by both Team RWBY and Team JNPR.
Tables were turned and food flew everywhere as Jaune took in the devestation.
Cardin was getting strangled by his younger self with Ruby peppering him with orange juice to the face.
Russel was getting his mohawk eaten by Nora as Weiss tripped him to the floor.
Dove was getting his face pulled across a table full of food by Yang and Pyrrha.
Sky was getting tied up and spun around by Ren and Blake using some sort of pasta.
It was chaos all around of them before they all froze at the sound of Glynda's voice.
"What is the meaning of this?!" Glynda screamed as they barged into the cafeteria.
It only took an instant for the kids to kneel apologetically in front of them with their heads bowed low as the rest of the student body fled.
Jaune frowns however when he sees teams JNPR and RWBY giving him weird looks with Pyrrha reacting the most. She looked at his direction with a pale face as her mouth opened and closed.
Still, he keeps his silence as he waits for the inevitable to start.
"Well, I'm waiting." Glynda growled as she used her Semblance to rearrange the cafeteria to it's proper form.
Jaune counted two seconds after that moment before everyone started screaming, eager to defend their own side. His brows rise in awe however at how Glynda only had to crack her whip once for all of them to fall silent again.
"Team leaders, control your teams and report." She snarled as she points to Cardin first.
Jaune couldn't blame her for that. After all, they both saw how Cardin's team was getting overwhelmed by teams RWBY and JNPR.
Still...it left an unpleasant taste to Jaune as true to form, Cardin rises yelling and shouting as he pointed at teams RWBY and JNPR.
"This clowns just attacked me and my team out of nowhere!"
As expected however, the younger versions of his own friends rises to shout back at him, causing everything to slide back into pandemonium.
"ENOUGH!" Glynda shouted as she clenched her eyes in frustration and Jaune finally takes pity at her.
"Calm down, let me handle it." He whispered quietly as he puts a calming hand on her shoulder.
Glynda snapped towards him with narrowed eyes and Jaune froze before he noticef Glynda slumping in gratefulness with a nod.
He nods back with a smile before turning back towards the kids as he steps forward.
"Alright, we've heard what Mr. Winchester has to say, now how about you two?" He smiles at Ruby and his younger self's pensive expressions.
"He was pulling at someone's ears!" Ruby snitched immediately and Jaune nods at that.
It checks out. Cardin did like to pull Velvet's rabbit ears if he remembers right.
"She was an animal!" Cardin shouted back and it doesn't take long before everyone was screaming again with Blake leading the charge to protect the Faunus and Yang defending her sister.
"You're an animal, you racist!" Blake shouted, red in the face.
"Hey! Don't talk to my sister like that!" Yang yelled, pulling Ruby behind her.
Jaune tiredly smoothened his brow before using an Aura-enhanced clap to get their attention.
Clap!
They all flinch as a loud noise washed over their ears.
"Okay, okay. So that's how it started. Am I to assume you all then decided to fight?" He said calmly, nodding to both teams RWBY and JNPR for confirmation.
His younger self only looks resolutely at him however as he opens his mouth.
"We did the right thing. We stopped him."
"Yeah, I know you did the right thing but did you really have to jump them in the cafeteria?" Jaune sighed as he waves a hand to Cardin's team.
"What?! This is an outrage!" Cardin goes red in anger at that.
Jaune shook his head as he sighed disappointedly at Cardin at that.
"The fact that you can't even recognize you did something wrong is problematic."
"Who even are you to decide over us?!" Cardin flushed in anger as he glared at Jaune.
"You don't recognize me, Mr. Winchester? I'm the Rusted Knight." He finished with a smirk as he sees Cardin pale as he looks between Jaune and his younger self
"Favoritism. This is favoritism!" Cardin shouted angrily, pointing at the two Arcs in front of him.
"Mr. Winchester!" Glynda snapped angrily from behind him but Jaune only calmly raises a hand to let her know everything is under control.
"Like I said, Mr. Winchester, you did something wrong and you need to realize that. Treat this as a learning experience. First, walk away from here with your team and then publicly apologize for your actions."
"What?! You can't make me do that!"
"Trust me, Mr. Winchester, I can." He gives him a bone-chilling smile.
Sorry, Cardin, but this is for your own good. Better to root out the racism now than later.
Jaune takes pleasure however when he sees Cardin panic and look around for a way out at that before his eyes landed on Jaune's younger self.
"I'll tell everyone! I'll tell the public that you let someone in with a fake transcript!"
"Good, you can let everyone know you got beaten up by someone untrained." Jaune only kept smiling at him, this time with his arms crossed.
Cardin fumed as his mouth opened and closed at Jaune's reply.
"Oh snap, he broke him." Yang quips and Jaune's eyes immediately snap toward them.
"I'll deal with you later but for now..." He turns back to Cardin at that before continuing. "Think about what you want to be remembered as, Cardin. Do you want to be remembered as someone who only bullies the Faunus or do you want to be remembered as someone better?"
The cafeteria stays silent at that as Cardin mulls his words with a frown on his face. Jaune could see Glynda nod in approval at the as she steps beside him before adding her own thoughts.
"If you want to be worth remembering at all, Mr. Winchester, then think about what you have done and apologize to those who you have wronged."
Cardin grits his teeth but he was at least wise enough not to directly argue with Glynda. Still, Jaune the seed has been planted even as Cardin glares at them.
"Fine, but I demand justice. They still attacked me and my team from out of nowhere." Cardin waves at teams RWBY and JNPR who only glare back at him.
"Don't worry, you'll get your justice. Now go." He sighs, surprising everyone around him as their jaws fall in surprise.
Protests start to form on lips before Jaune glares them down as he grunts at Cardin to get moving and nods at the door.
It was enough for the boy to grin and lead his team out. Just before he reaches the door however, Jaune shouts.
"Don't forget you have your own justice to pay too, Mr. Winchester. I'll be watching and I expect you to be better." He said gravely as he stared at Cardin from the corner of his eye only to see the boy nod slowly before leaving completely.
He doubts Cardin will actually apologize to Velvet right now but the seed has been planted and the boy should know he was being watched now. That should be enough to curtail any remaining bullying tendencies.
For now however, he stares at teams RWBY and JNPR.
"As for you...You do know you are not getting away scot-free, right?"
"What?! That's not fair! We did the right thing!" His younger self argued as the rest looked at them intently.
"While what you did was right, there were proper ways to do it." He nodded in agreement and that took away the sails out of his younger self.
"Like what?" Ruby piped in curiously with a tilt of her head and Jaune smiles as he answers.
"Jump them in private not in public."
""What?!"" Multiple voices cry out in shock and Jaune smiles in relief when Glynda grunts in agreement beside him.
To be honest, he was half-joking when he said that but it seems like Beacon really had that sort of policy.
"I don't know why you are surprised. This is a combat school. We teach you combat so you can stop people from suffering." Glynda added to everyone's shock.
"B-but this is a school! Is violence always an answer?" Weiss asked with a frown on her face.
Glynda only sighed in dismay at that however.
"I seem to recall you were part of said violence, Ms. Schnee but the answer is no. Violence is not always the correct answer but it is sadly the most available one in some cases. Though we do wish you do not do it too much against your classmates, Beacon satisfies itself with a hands-off approach for you to learn how to handle rapidly evolving situations. We will only step in if it gets too far."
"So, we get to beat up bad guys? Nice." Yang grinned excitedly as she cracked her knuckles to everyone's amusement and that's when Jaune decided to intervene.
He snorted at Yang's words before speaking. "No, think of it as you protecting people instead of hunting for bad guys."
"To-May-To, To-Mah-To." Yang shoots back with a snicker and Jaune rolls his eyes at that
That way of thinking was exactly what made Team RWBY a magnet for trouble in the future. Battle lust, savior complex, and the perfect targets in the White Fang and Roman Torchwick mixed together to create the perfect situations for Team RWBY to involve themselves in vigilantism.
Jaune clears his throat as he sends his younger self a meaningful look. Hopefully the young Arc is finally starting to understand just how prone Team RWBY is to attracting trouble.
"With that said however, it is now time for your punishment."
He did his best to restrain his smile when he sees them suddenly freeze and gulp nervously.
He chamces a glance at that, trying to see what she thinks but she only raises an eyebrow at him before nodding him to continue.
Well, permission to do as he sees fit granted.
He sends her a grateful smile at that before he grins widely at the students, causing them shift uneasily as he lets them sweat a hit.
Eventually, he opens his mouth and says...
"Nothing. Your punishment is nothing."
"""What?!"""
He laughed heartily as multiple voices cried out in surprise and relief.
As much as he wanted to dissuade them from being vigilante crimefighters, their actions today were harmless and did not merit any punishment from his point of view.
"Jaune." Glynda sighed from beside him and he gives her his best winning smile.
"Come on, Glynda. It's technically still the first week of school and they did do the right thing. You wouldn't punish them for stopping a racist bully will you?"
"Fine. They did do the right thing I suppose. They only need to do it better next time." Glynda exhaled with a sigh of acceptance before giving the students a stern glare. "With that said, we cannot have anyone accusing us of favoritism. If anyone asks, you will tell everyone Professor Arc has already punished you."
""""Yes, Ms. Goodwitch."""
Damn, Jaune would pay to get lessons on how to exude authority like she does. That ability to instill discipline could have been helpful with the Paper Pleasers in the Ever After.
Still, what's done is done. With this, he could finally have some time to buy clothes of his own.
"With that said, you are all dismissed. Get to your classes." He announces loudly yet this is where things get weird.
Instead of happily skipping off to class without any punishment, both Team RWBY and Team JNPR shuffled uneasily in place as they looked at him.
"What is it? Is there something wrong?" He asks with a frown.
He felt his heart rate speed up however when everyone looks at his younger self who only cringed nervously.
"I...uhmmm...I may or may not have told them the truth?" The kid clears his throat as he looks at Glynda unsurely before turning to his friends.
And just like that, Jaune gets the picture.
"I...uhmmm...I may or may not have told them the truth?"
Glynda perked up as she heard Mr. Arc's words.
Judging by his nervous demeanor and the elder Jaune's own stiff posture, Glynda could infer what kind of truth he was talking about.
She blinked and kept her silence even as she was groaning frustratedly inside. Glynda remembers Jaune deciding not to share anything but either he told his younger self or they underestimated how perceptive he was.
As it is, she waits silently as she decides to take cues from Jaune. No matter what he decides to do, Glynda was willing to support him and follow through.
She could feel him tensing up however even as he tilts his head in confusion.
"And what truth would that be, Mr. Arc?"
Glynda closed her eyes briefly. It seems like they were going to deny everything or at least play dumb about it. Still, while Glynda has her doubts she opens her eyes with a wooden smile as she follows up on Jaune's course of action.
"Yes, please tell us, Mr. Arc. What truth would that be and why do you feel the need to tell us?" She asked with a raises eywbrow.
"I...uhm...well..that is-" Mr. Arc started only to be interrupted by his partner.
"How the Rusted Knight is a future version of Jaune and how he travelled through tume because I die in the future." Pyrrha Nikos cut in, waving her hand at Jaune as her eyes swim dazedly around his direction.
Everybody gasped at her words but Glynda could feel Jaune tense even more beside her before he laughed loudly.
"Ha. Ha. Ha. Great joke you two! I don't know where you got the notion but I love the sense of humor."
"What?!" Mr. Arc asked loudly but Ms. Nikos only shook her head.
"It's not a joke...Jaune." Pyrrha said with sad eyes.
The air changed instantly. A sudden weight crashed over everyone as Jaune gasped suddenly beside her.
The students held their breath as they looked at Jaune's reaction
Glynda bit her lip in frustration before she sighed loudly with her eyes closed. She could literally feel the pain coming off of the man beside her with his tightening muscles amd gritting of teeth.
Laying a calming hand on Jaune's shoulder, she opens her eyes and begins to speak.
"Ms. Nikos, I don't know what possessed you to say those things but the joke has gone too far." Glynda glared, speaking for her pained colleague.
Credit where credit is due but Mr. Arc steps forward to shield his partner from her view.
"It's not a joke, Professor Goodwitch! We have the same name, the same signature, his blade can mechashift, and he told me himself!"
"You know what, I've changed my mind." Jaune cuts in with a smile, getting everyone's attention with his sudden jovial demeanor.
"Jaune?" She asks worriedly while looking at him, giving his shoulder a comforting rub but he only pats her hand with a gentle smile.
Her heart skipped a beat but he stepes forward away from her and speaks before he could even see the blush starting to appear on her cheeks.
"It's okay, Glynda. Thank you really but I've just thought of something wonderful!" He says towards before looking back at the students. "If you could joke this much then I'm sure you have energy for some training!"
"Training?! This isn't the time for training!" Mr. Arc protested but Jaune only laughs coldly at him.
"Oh but I believe it is! Consider it punishment for jumping Mr. Winchester and his team earlier." Jaune countered, cracking his neck before suddenly looking coldly at all of them. "All of you against me. Combat Arena, now!"
The words crashed against the children before he suddenly turned around to leave first.
Glynda jolted in surprise and she hastily walked beside him. Multiple voices cry out behind them but she only had eyes for Jaune.
"Jaune, are you okay?" She called out with a whisper as they left the cafeteria.
"Hmmm? Never been better." Jaune hums back instantly, not even slowing down his footsteps.
She bit her lip worriedly before grabbing his arm while out of the children's sights. She pulls him to a stop before looking at him sternly.
"Jaune...are you sure about this? By your own admission Team RWBY and Team JNPR were the best of your year."
"Glynda, it's gonna be fine. It's just a spar." He had the audacity to laugh at her but she only sighed disappointedly at him.
"It would be easier to just tell them the truth instead of doing this, you know?"
She did say she was going to support him no matter what he did but this was going to be too much. Two exceptional teams at the same time? Even Glynda would lose if they work together well and by Jaune's own admission, teams RWBY and JNPR were the best.
His eyes turn frosty at her words but she only shook her head.
"Are you not even worried about losing?"
Jaune's frosty look turns pensive at that and for a moment Glynda hoped he was going to see some sense and just tell them the truth. Instead...he smirks confidently at her and that got her heart racing.
She almost purred at the confidence he exuded but Glynda wasn't the disciplinarian for nothing. Pulling herself together, she stays silent as Jaune says three memorable words.
"Nah, I'd win."
OMAKE:
Pyrrha grinded her teeth as she saw Professor Glynda lay a hand on Jaune's shoulder to calm him down.
That should be her doing that! Calming her man down from doing something reckless like a wife should!
As it is, no matter how hard she tried, her hands only passed through Jaune's flesh!
She followed frustratedly behind their heels as they left the cafeteria and her anger only rises again at what happens next.
"Nah, I'd win."
If she had a body then it would be blushing red at the smirk and confidence Jaune wore on her face.
As it is, she had to content herself to watching Glynda Goodwitch, the hussy, pant heatedly at her man.
The audacity of this bitch!
It's not fair! That should be her! That should be her! That should be her!
Lights turned on and off at her tantrum but nobody noticed considering it was already bright as day.
Not even Pyrrha saw as she was so focused glaring at Glynda.
