It was a typical morning at Izuku's dorm room at Alliance Heights. As he sat up and stretched out his arms, he knew it was going to be another busy afternoon preparing for the Sports Festival.
Not wanting to be late, he hurried and got dressed for class. After tying his tie, he looked in the mirror to make sure he passed inspection. No need for another demerit from either Yaoyorozu or Iida…again.
"Meow…"
In the mirror, perched on his bed, was his recently adopted black cat he delightfully called Luna. Her amber eyes watched him with a mixture of curiosity and aloofness. She was a striking feline with sleek, midnight-black fur that made her eyes appear even more luminous and intense.
"Good morning, Luna," Izuku greeted, reaching for the bag of cat treats. Luna didn't respond, only flicking her tail in a sign of mild interest.
He patted his thigh, shaking the bag of goodies he had recently purchased from the pet store. "Look, here are your treats, Luna! Honey roasted tuna. I know it's your favorite!"
Izuku shook a few treats into her bowl, the sound of them hitting the ceramic echoing in the quiet domicile. Luna sniffed the air but made no move towards the bowl. Izuku sighed, knowing well his cat's moody temperament.
"You can be such a diva sometimes," he chuckled, gently patting her on the head. Luna blinked slowly, a gesture he chose to interpret as acknowledgment.
He couldn't help but think back to the day he found her, just a few months after his intense battle with Dabi. It had been a long, grueling fight, but rescuing Luna had given him a sense of peace and purpose in the aftermath. He found her, a tiny kitten with striking amber eyes, hiding in the rubble. Not wanting to leave her alone, he took her in as a family member, naming her Luna.
Leaving the treats next to her bowl, Izuku slung his backpack over his shoulder. He checked his reflection one last time in the hallway mirror, smoothing down his hair. Satisfied, he gave Luna a final glance. "I'll see you after school. Try to eat, okay?"
As he prepared to leave, he heard a knock at the door. Curious, he walked to the entrance and opened it, revealing Ochako standing there with a bright smile.
"Good morning, Izuku!" she greeted, stepping inside and wrapping him in a warm hug. "I thought we could walk to school together."
Izuku smiled, returning the hug. "That sounds great, Ochako."
Ochako's eyes then drifted to Luna, who was still sitting on the countertop. "And good morning to you, Luna!" she said cheerfully.
Luna's response was far from welcoming. She hissed at Ochako and took a swipe at her hand, narrowly missing. Ochako pulled back, startled, while Izuku quickly intervened.
"Luna, no!" he scolded softly, picking her up and moving her away from Ochako. "I'm sorry, she can be a bit temperamental."
"It's okay," Ochako laughed, though a bit nervously. "She's just protective of you."
Izuku sighed, scratching Luna behind her ears in an attempt to calm her down. "Yeah, she's a handful sometimes. But she means well."
Luna settled in his arms, purring softly as if to apologize. Izuku set her back down gently and turned to Ochako. "So…ready to go?"
"Absolutely," Ochako replied, still smiling. "Let's get going before we're late."
With one last glance at Luna, who was now watching them with a placid expression, Izuku and Ochako stepped out into the morning air.
As they left, the cat stared at Ochako viciously, feeling threatened that Ochako was trying to take away her owner, Izuku, from her. Luna's eyes narrowed, her tail flicking with agitation. She let out a low growl, a reminder of her presence and her claim on Izuku. To Luna, Izuku was hers, and she wasn't about to let anyone come between them.
Later that day….
Luna perched herself atop the garden wall that overlooked the school questions. Students and staff alike bypassed the kitten as they already knew that it was Izuku's. Aizawa-sensei didn't frown upon it as long as he took care of the creature and it didn't become feral or mistreated. Plus, it was no secret that the tough-as-nails Eraserhead had a fondness for cats.
She waited with the patience of a hunter, knowing that soon, her owner/father would emerge.
Finally, she spotted him. Her heart swelled with joy, a purr rumbling deep in her chest. But her happiness was short-lived. Beside Izuku was that interloper skank Ochako, her arms wrapped around his as they walked, laughing together. Her laughter rang through the air, a melodious sound that made Izuku smile. But to Luna, that laugh was a siren's call, a threat to the bond she cherished with her owner. Luna's tail flicked sharply, her eyes narrowing as she fixed her gaze on Ochako.
A surge of jealousy and protectiveness coursed through Luna. Her ears flattened, and she hissed loudly, the sound cutting through the chatter of the students. Several heads turned, but Luna's fierce eyes were locked on Ochako. To Luna, this was a clear sign of an enemy encroaching on her territory.
Izuku stopped in his tracks, looking up in surprise at the source of the noise. "Luna?" he called, spotting her a few yards away from them. His brow furrowed in confusion. "What are you doing here?"
Ochako also looked up, a bit startled by the intensity of Luna's glare. "Hey, Luna," she said softly, trying to sound welcoming despite the cat's obvious hostility.
The emerald-haired teen slowly approached his little kitten. "It's okay, girl," he soothed, holding her securely in his arms. Luna relaxed slightly in his embrace, but her eyes remained locked on Ochako.
Seeing the opportunity, Ochako reached out to pet Luna, smiling warmly. "Hi, Luna. Let's be friends, okay?"
But Luna's response was immediate and fierce. She hissed loudly and swiped at Ochako's hand, her claws narrowly missing the girl's fingers. Startled, Ochako pulled back, her expression a mix of hurt and surprise.
"Luna, no!" Izuku scolded gently, holding her closer to his chest to prevent further aggression. "You can't do that. Ochako is our friend."
Luna, feeling Izuku's disapproval, let out a small, mournful meow, but her eyes never left Ochako. She felt torn between her deep-seated loyalty to Izuku and her instinctual protectiveness.
"Sorry about that, Ochako. Luna can be quite possessive at times," he said in an apologetic tone.
Ochako chuckled. "It's okay, Izuku. I know it could be hard for an alley cat like Luna to adjust." She produced a smile. "I can understand."
Izuku nervously laughed. However, Luna's amber eyes continued glaring at the interloper that was inches away from him. As she was close to tearing some skin on her arm, she was picked up skywardly by her owner. "What do you say, girl? Wanna go home and relax?"
"Wait," interjected Ochako. "I thought you were going to the drink bar with us."
"Raincheck, I am afraid," responded Izuku. "I have homework to finish plus I need to see how Luna got out of the dorm. I don't recall leaving anything unlocked." There were times he knew the cat would roam and he usually didn't mind. However, he did get warnings from his teachers to keep a watchful eye on her.
Ochako softly smiled. "Ok, ok. I get it." She winked at the teen. "Next time, okay? Plus, you owe me a solid for skipping out the last time with us."
"Definitely," he replied as he nodded his head.
"C'mon Uraraka-chan!"
With a wave, Ochako rejoined the group heading out, and Izuku made his way back to the dorm. "C'mon, Luna girl. Let's have some dinner."
Luna began mewing as she perched herself on his shoulder. Luna began to nuzzle his neck, her whiskers tickling his skin.
Later that evening….
Aki Sora and 30 Seconds to Mars occupied his eyes and ears for the evening as he relaxed in bed. After fixing dinner for himself and Luna, he lounged in bed as he could take in whatever was left of his day.
Partaking on honey buns, he nodded to the beat and read one of his favorite mangas of forbidden love and incest. However, the thought of his newly adopted pet circumvented his mind.
He knew Luna wasn't an easy cat to deal with. She was even difficult with him upon their first encounter. She didn't eat any of his treats, didn't want the bed or the scratching post Yaoyorozu made just for her. There were even times that the cat tried to escape.
Despite the troubled beginnings, the midnight kitten slowly adjusted to Izuku. And now, she couldn't get her hands off her father/owner.
Speaking of Luna….
"Luna? Lunes?" Luna who was usually curled up at his feet or draped over his legs, was nowhere to be seen. Izuku frowned, a flicker of worry piercing his tranquility.
He pulled off his headphones, the sudden silence almost deafening, and called out softly, "Luna?" There was no response. He sat up, placing his manga and headphones on his nightstand, and scanned the room. The usual nooks and crannies were empty, and the blanket on his bed was undisturbed. Luna was an adventurous cat, but she usually stayed close to him, especially at night.
He walked out of his dorm room, scanning the hallways. Did he forget to lock the door again? "Luna?" he called again, his voice echoing softly. He listened intently, hoping to hear the familiar jingle of her collar bell.
As he stood in the doorway, he caught a glimpse of movement out of the corner of his eye.
There, on top of his bookshelf, was Luna. She was perched precariously between a row of action figures and his All Might memorabilia, her amber eyes watching him with mild curiosity. Izuku let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding and chuckled softly.
He touched his chest. "Ah! There you are, Lunes." He laughed once more as he sat on his bed. "Give me a little scare there." Before he uttered another word, he heard a soft, almost indignant sound.
"Tsk, tsk, Izuku."
His eyes widened, and he slowly looked down at Luna, who was now sitting upright, her amber eyes fixed on him with an unnerving intensity. Izuku blinked, sure he had imagined it, but the voice continued.
"I was staring at you the entire time. How could you neglect me like that? Such a cruel owner!"
Izuku's mouth dropped open, and he scrambled back, nearly falling off the bed. "L-Luna? Did you just... talk?"
Luna sighed, a surprisingly human-like sound, and gave him a look that seemed almost exasperated. "Yes, I did. And I've been able to for a while now. It's about time you noticed."
Izuku's mind raced, trying to make sense of what was happening. He had faced many strange and powerful quirks during his time at U.A. High, but this was something entirely different. "How... how is this possible?"
She stretched, her back arching gracefully before she settled back down, her tail flicking. "I guess you could call it a quirk, though it's more like a gift. Or, something of a spirit."
Before he could produce even a consonant or a vowel, the cat jumped and pushed him to the bed, causing him to fall back.
Luna walked on his stomach and then approached his chin. She began sniffing it before her nose flared. "I can smell the stink of that shrew that smells of cheap perfume. I bathed in dumpsters that smelled better than that. To think you allow such a bitch to infiltrate our household." She made a tsk sound. "A bad call. A bad call if she crosses my path. This cat has nine lives but she won't have one if she touches you again."
"Luna, what are you?" He asked nervously.
She sat up, her tail flicking gracefully behind her. "I guess it's time I told you the truth, Izuku. I'm not just an ordinary cat. I'm a bakeneko."
"A bakeneko?" Izuku repeated, his brow furrowing in confusion. He had read about bakeneko in myths and legends—supernatural cats that could shapeshift and possess strange powers. But to think that his own pet was one of these mythical creatures was almost too much to take in.
"Yes," Luna continued. "I'm a shapeshifting youkai cat. I've been with you for a long time, watching over you. I didn't reveal myself because I wanted to make sure you were safe and happy first."
Izuku's mind spun with questions. "But why reveal yourself now?"
She looked at him intently. "After the incident with Dabi, when you saved everyone despite the danger, I realized something about you. I saw how gentle, brave, and kind you are, and I couldn't help but fall in love with you."
Izuku's heart skipped a beat, and he felt a warmth rising in his cheeks. "F-Fall in love?" he stammered, unsure how to process this revelation.
"Not just as my master," Luna continued, her voice steady, "but as a mate. You have a pure heart, Izuku, and it drew me to you. But then, I saw how Ochako looks at you, how close you two have become. It made me realize how much I care for you, and I can't stand the thought of anyone coming between us."
Izuku's mind reeled. Luna, his beloved pet, was a bakeneko with feelings for him that went beyond the bond of a pet and owner. The idea of romantic feelings from a mythical creature was overwhelming. "Luna, I... I don't know what to say."
Luna's eyes narrowed slightly, not in anger but in determination. "I know it's a lot to take in, Izuku. But you need to understand, I can't bear the thought of anyone interfering with our bond. Not Ochako, not anyone."
Izuku felt a cold shiver of anxiety. He knew Ochako cared for him deeply, and he cared for her as well. But he also couldn't ignore the loyalty and affection his cat had shown him. "Luna, I care about you a lot. You've been with me through so much. But Ochako is my friend, and I can't just push her away. I don't want to hurt anyone."
"I don't want to hear excuses."
Before Izuku could react, Luna's form began to shimmer. Her sleek fur seemed to dissolve, replaced by smooth, pale skin. She grew taller, her limbs lengthening and her features transforming. In a matter of moments, she stood before him as a young woman with long, flowing black hair, her amber eyes now even more captivating in their human form. She wore a simple, elegant kimono that accentuated her ethereal beauty.
Izuku's breath caught in his throat. He had read about bakeneko's ability to shapeshift, but seeing it in person was entirely different. "Luna, you…"
She smiled, a hint of mischief in her eyes. "Call me Blake when I'm like this," she said, stepping closer to him. "I've taken this form to show you the depth of my feelings, Izuku."
Before he could process what was happening, Blake leaned in and kissed him. The kiss was soft, yet charged with an intensity that left Izuku momentarily stunned. His mind struggled to catch up with the whirlwind of emotions and sensations. Blake's lips were warm and gentle, and for a brief moment, everything else faded away.
When she finally pulled back, Izuku was left breathless, his heart pounding in his chest. "Blake, I—" he started, but she placed a finger against his lips, silencing him. She wasn't finished. She then licked the back and front of his teeth, causing his mind to go blank. That white light inside of his brain made him melt.
The strength drained from his arms and he couldn't any longer push away her ample chest. Blake confirmed that all reason had paused in her master's brain before lifting her lips from his. All he could do after that was lie there, breathing raggedly.
"A woman's kiss," she said, licking her lips that shared his juices.
"Luna…I…" Izuku felt a surge of conflicting emotions, which Blake could tell. She then grabbed both of his arms. Using her knees, she spreaded his legs.
"Since you don't think my love is enough for you. It seems that I will show my love…by force!"
To be continued….
