Izuku was packing his bag, clad in UA's official school uniform, but before he got out the door, Inko checked up on her son.
"Izuku, are you all set?"
"Yup!"
"Are you sure? You didn't just pack action figures did you?"
"Mom, relax. I'm not that much of a die-hard fanboy!" Izuku laughed before looking up the stairs. "Hey, Wendy, you coming?"
"Coming!" His little cousin said as she ran down, already clad in her custom-sized school uniform.
"…That's it. You're not going."
"What?! Why?!"
"Because if anyone sees how adorable and cute you are, I'll have to use the Naraka path."
"Izuku..." Inko beamed. "I am so proud of you and Wendy."
As the cousins gave the pudgy woman one last quick hug goodbye, they made their way to UA by train before finally arriving at the front gates.
"You ready to show them you can be a hero?" Wendy asked as Izuku smiled.
"Yeah, of course. So where are the others?"
"From the looks of it, they might already be in class."
Quickly making haste, the two cousins found a gigantic door in front of them.
"Geez, how tall are the students supposed to be?" Wendy asked.
Izuku shrugged as he opened the door and was greeted with your average high school setting: teenagers talking constantly. He and Wendy smiled when they saw all their friends were indeed already there.
"Get your feet off that desk this instant!" The blue-haired teen Izuku recognized from the exams exclaimed, looking at Katsuki who was acting like his usual self.
"Huh?" The Pomeranian questioned, clearly not impressed with the person bossing him around.
"It's only the first day and you're already disrespecting the school by scuffing its property, you cretin!"
"You're kidding me, right? Your old school put that stick up your ass, or were you born with it?" Katsuki retorted.
Izuku deadpanned.
"Classic Kaachan..."
"…And to think he's Uncle Masa's son…" Wendy mused, shaking her head along with her cousin.
"Let's start over. I'm Tenya Iida from the Somei Private Academy." The bespectacled teen said, introducing himself.
"Somei, huh? Guess that means you must think you're better than everyone else. I'm gonna have fun tearing you a new one!"
"Threatening your own classmate?! Are you sure you're in the right class?" Tenya questioned. They would've argued further if they hadn't spotted Izuku standing in the doorway with a flat look on his face.
"It's him…"
"Oh great, here we go..." Gray muttered as he stood up to defend Izuku. "Hey, jackass! Didn't you hear me at the Entrance Exam? Lay off my friend or I'll-"
"I… would like to apologize for my prior remark about your eyes," Tenya said to Izuku.
Gray's words died in his throat before grumbling as he sat back down, embrassed.
"Gray-darling." Juvia quietly noted. making a point to show his tie had come off, which
"Dang it!" Gray said as he hurriedly put it back on.
"Apology accepted." Izuku had nodded in reply as he shook Ida's hand.
"Hey, isn't that your friend who has multiple powers?" A redheaded boy with sharp teeth asked Elfman.
"Yup! That's Izuku and he's a real man amongst men!"
"How many do he have?!" A pink-skinned girl with horns questioned Mirajane excitedly.
"About…." The white haired beauty paused to think. "…Six or so."
"Hey, I recognize that messed up hair! Midoriya!"
Izuku smiled when he turned to see Ochako had arrived as well, glad to see that she made it into the Hero Course.
"I'm so glad we're all in the same class together!" She beamed, hugging the boy.
"Yeah. Having some familiar faces is gonna make this more comfortable." Izuku admitted, his smile growing when he saw a familiar redhead make her way over.
"So, you must be the one who saved Izuku." Erza smiled, getting Ochacko's attention and bowing slightly. "Thank you; he means the best but never thinks of himself."
"…Erza…" Izuku mumbled.
"Well, its true!" Wendy and Natsu butted in.
"Well, he and the ice boy did save me." Ochacko beamed. "Oh! Where are my manners? Ochako Uraraka."
"Erza Scarlet." Erza replied as the two girls shook hands and she looked at Izuku. "I approve."
"But love rival!" Juvia suddenly called out, startling many before Lucy jumped on her to calm down.
Izuku and Erza simply blushed and looked away, which made several of both their old and new classmates coo in a teasing manner.
"If you're here to make friends, then leave." A tired voice deadpanned, causing everyone to turn and see a man with long black hair doing a great impression of a grumpy caterpillar in a sleeping bag.
"WHO THE HECK IS THIS GUY?!"A majority of the students mentally screamed as the man got out of his sleeping bag.
"It took you eight seconds to shut your mouths. Time is precious and rational students would take this seriously." He said as he walked back to the door. "Now let's get this out of the way. I'm Shota Aizawa…your teacher."
"This guy's our teacher?" Natsu asked Lucy. "Looks more like a homeless person UA is letting live on campus."
"Ignoring that..." Aizawa grumbled as he pulled out a gym uniform. "You'll find these in your lockers. Get changed into them and then head outside."
FAIRY
After they changed, they found themselves near a score monitoring robot near a track and field area only to find out the real reason why they were summoned to this location.
"WHAT!? A QUIRK ASSESSMENT TEST?!"
"But what about orientation?!" Ochako protested.
"If you're going to be in the big leagues, you can't waste your time on pointless ceremonies," Aizawa told them. "Here at UA, we aren't tethered to traditions. That means that I get to run my class however I see fit."
"Great. So it's one of those situations." Laxus sighed in exasperation.
"…I'm flashbacks to Master Jose." Gajeel grumbled, Juvia nodding in agreement.
"You've been taking standardized tests all your lives, but you never got to use your Quirks on physical exams before." Aizawa continued. "The country still wants us to think we're equal by not letting those with the most power excel. It's not rational. One day the board of education will learn."
"I don't think that's what they meant by 'all are created equal'." Izuku pointed out. "Usually it means that we're all born equal in stature, what happens later is irrelevant to that equality."
Aizawa hummed. "Perhaps. Anyway, you'll all be doing a series of tests with your Quirks, which will be a far cry from anything you've done before."
The teacher then singled out Gajeel and tossed a softball to him. As the boy caught it, he saw the ball had a black metallic band around it.
"Redfox, you were one of the Top 20 in the Entrance Exam. What was your furthest throw with a softball in junior high?"
"Geehee, 75 meters." Gajeel said in his usual attitude.
"Alright, try using your Quirk this time," Aizawa said as Gajeel stepped into the circle. "Anything goes, just stay inside it."
"Alright, but brace yourselves," Gajeel said as he threw the ball into the air, as it was plummeting back down, Gajeel's right arm turned into an iron club."IRON DRAGON CLUB!"
Izuku beamed. "Gajeels'Hybrid IronQuirk allows him to harness the powers of ancient Iron Dragons, much like Natsu, Laxus, and Wendy's Quirks!"
While the students were in awe of this reveal, their teacher seemed unamused, but accepted Gajeel's strength.
"The most rational way of realizing your potential as a pro is knowing your maximum capabilities," Aizawa said as he showed that Gajeel's score was 854.2 meters, shocking most of the students present.
"Geez! That score is insane!" A boy with yellow hair with a single black lightning bolt streak in his hair named Denki Kaminari exclaimed.
"Yeah, this is what I'm talking about. Using our Quirks as much as we want!" Eijirou Kirishima, the redhead who Elfman was talking to earlier, cheered.
"Oh me next! That looks fun!" The pink-skinned girl, Mina Ashido, said.
Aizawa's eye twitched. "Fun? You think this is a game, Ashido?"
The teacher's eyes seemed to glow a violent red, and his hair began to levitate slightly.
"Being a hero isn't about having fun, Ashido. How many likes you get on your newest post doesn't matter and the number of followers you have doesn't matter when you are staring a villain dead in the eyes. And if you think you can be a hero and get by with your charms and good looks, then you are certainly not meant to be here."
Mina's energy immediately died out, her eyes wide with fear. Tears pricked up in her eyes, and she began to cry.
"I'm sorry…"
"You'resorry?" Aizawa spat the word like it was the vilest venom in existence. "Tell that to the man whose wife you failed to save because you were too busy making sure you looked perfect for the cameras. Tell that to a child who has to grow up without a parent because you were too busy with your ego. Tell me, Ashido, are you prepared to have that conversation?"
Mina couldn't answer, her sobs the only response she could muster.
"That's what I thought."
"Excuse me, Aizawa?"
The teacher turned to see Mirajane , a far too calm smile on her face, now right in hiw own.
"Let me be clear: I understand the measure you were trying to preach." Mira's face then turned into a frown as a dark aura overtook her form. "Your volume and words, however, were not just unprofessional, BUT BOARDERLINE ABUSIVE!"
The aura faded and now, Mirajane towered over Aizawa, with clawed hands, bat like wings and a new punk like hair-style that was complimented by a scar on her face.
"Mira's quirk always scares me!" Lucy admitted, holding onto Levy with Wendy.
"Satan Soul." Izuku explained to his new classmates. "Mira's Quirk is a very specific type of shapeshifting; she can take on the powers and looks of anyone she's beaten."
"She got that one saving me, Elfman and our ungrateful caregivers from a villain attack." Lisanna added.
"When we were kids, no less!" Elfman added as he and his sister moved to comfort and shield those scared by the pressure Mira was letting off.
One boy, who had half white and red hair with a scar over one of his eyes, tensed in shock at hearing that; he'd gone in knowing he was the strongest and had had the roughest training, but to hear that?
"Mira is probably the second strongest of us Fairy Tail students overall." Erza added. "I've fought to a draw many, many times abd not even Laxus or Izuku, who were personally tutored by Master Makarov, have completely bested her."
"I'LL ADMIT TO HAVING BEEN SOMEONE WHO THOUGHT SHE WAS INVINCIBLE." Mirajane continued, growling at the teacher even as she started to de-transform. She then covered the teacher's mouth with her hand so that she could finish her speech. "And that nearly cost me Lisana once."
The white haired girl looked down in shame, as did Elfman. They were cheered up by Wendy hugging them.
"But that is why we're here; to make sure no one else goes through that….if you'll teach us." Mirajane said. "This is only our first day, our last as normal kids. You should really take that into account…I'm sure Nedzu AND Makarov would have words with how you've been conducting yourself."
"…Is this Makarov fella important?" A floating gym suit asked in a feminine voice.
"Before he moved to Japan and was our Headmaster, gramps was the #3 Hero in Europe for nearly thirty years." Laxus smirked. "He has connections and pull in not just the HPSC, but also the Hero Council of Europe."
"All in all?" Levy smiled. "Not a fellow to mess with."
"Especially if you're one of his students, new or old." Erza smiled.
"Juvia?" Mirajane suddenly called, and the water ghirl splashed Aizawa's face with a blast of water that sent him to the ground. Mira then looked down on him with a hand stretched to help out.
"I like to think I have good eyes and I know the kind of person you are...the one who lost someone near and dear to them and now projects that pain onto others as a means of coping." The white-haired girl said, still in a sickeningly sweet tone. "But you are a TEACHER and you are meant to nurture your students. Please kindly do your job the way you SHOULD."
Elfman put a hand to his chest. "That's my sister...what a man!"
"Amen to that." Eijirou nodded as he comforted Mina.
"Damn, that girl takes no shit..." Katsuki muttered before smirking. "I LIKE her."
"Go near her and I'll make you a woman." Lisana smiled at Katsuki.
"Oh come on, sis." Elfman replied. "Not like he'd even last a few seconds."
"…She keeps getting hotter."
Laxus growled and smirked at that, somehow.
'Dream on, bomb-boy. Dream on.'
He spoke from personal experience.
FAIRY
With the drama eventually settling down, the tests started in earnest. The first test was a 50-Meter Dash and Izuku used theDeva Pathto pull himself to the other end withUniversal Pullwhile Katsuki went flying with explosions from his hands thanks to his Quirk, aptly titledExplosion.
Next was Tenya Iida and a girl with frog-like features named Tsuyu Asui. As soon as the test robot said "Go", Tenya quickly took off, the engines in his legs helped him move at high speeds, earning him a score of 3.04 seconds in the end. Tsuyu used her frog-like physiology to hop across the track and get a score of 5.58 seconds.
Next up was Ochako and blonde-haired boy with a giant tail on his body that had a tuft of blonde hair on the end named Oujiro Maishirao. She used her Quirk,Zero Gravityto make both her shoes and clothes weightless before running while Ojiro used his tail to jump across the finish line and finished with a time of 5.49 seconds while Ochako got 7.15 seconds.
"At least it was better than junior high..." The brunette sighed.
Next was Mina and the blonde French boy that Wendy met at the Entrance Exam, Yuuga Aoyama. Mina skated on her acid to earn a score of 4.91 seconds while Yuuga turned around and shot his laser to propel himself across, taking a quick moment to pause at the midway line before boosting again, getting a score of 5.51 seconds.
"Shooting my beautiful beam for more than a second hurts my tummy."
Laxus snorted. "What a tool."
"Hope you're ready to lose, Salamander." Gray taunted Natsu as they went next.
"I'm gonna make you eat those words you icy pretty boy!"
"ICE MAKE: FLOOR!"Gray shouted as he created a path of blue ice to skate across.
"FIRE DRAGON IRON FIST BOOSTER!"Natsu cried as flames shot from his fists and propelled him across.
Gray earned a score of 4.21 seconds while Natsu managed to beat him with 3.01 seconds.
"Never underestimate Natsu'sDragon FlameQuirk!" Izuku cheered.
Next up was Erza along with a girl with black hair in a spikey ponytail named Momo Yaoyorozu. The two girls nodded to each other, having exchanged prior pleasantries during the Recommendation Exam before getting ready.
"REQUIP: FLIGHT ARMOR!"Erza cried as she changed into an armor set that looked like a cheetah pelt.
"DAMN!" A dwarfish boy with purple spheres for hair named Minoru Mineta exclaimed. "Is that even legal?!"
"That's the effect of Erza's Quirk,Pocket Armory," Izuku explained. "She has a pocket space that stores various weapons and armor sets that she can summon and don at any time!"
"You seem certainly enthusiastic about her, Green." A punkish girl with plug jack earlobes named Kyouka Jirou noted. "She your girlfriend or something?"
Izuku blushed, trying to ignore the teasing looks from his fellow Fairy Tail friends in the process.
"Izu and Erza, sitting in a tree…!" Natsu began
"Just like you and Lu-uu-cy!" Izuku replied, making Lucy blush and try to smack him while Natsu seemed confused by his best friend's taunt.
With the speed granted by her armor, Erza crossed the track in under 2.81 seconds while Momo used her Quirk,Creation, to create rocket skates to run across on, getting a score of 3.74 seconds.
FAIRY
The second test was Grip Strength and the students had moved into the nearby gym to take it. Izuku used theAsura Pathto cybernetically enhance his arms, which he calledGorilla Arms, to increase his strength, earning an impressive score of 975 kilograms.
"Wow! That's hardcore!" Exclaimed a boy with rectangular teeth and tape dispenser-shaped elbows named Sero Hanta. "You and Shouji here are monsters!"
Shouji Mezo, a tall boy with a light blue mask, silver hair, and multiple arms connected by webbing, had used his multiple hands to get a score of 540 kilograms which, while not as high as Izuku, was no less impressive.
"Heh! You're not the only powerhouse!" Gajeel bragged as he showed his score of 600 kilograms.
"Thanks, Taurus!" Lucy beamed to a minotaur man who had gripped her device for her, getting 700 kilograms.
"Lucy's Quirk isCelestial Embodiment!" Izuku beamed as he saw this. "She can call upon beings from another world called Celestial Spirits who can fight alongside her or bestow their power onto her!"
Lucy smirked. "Try again when you think you can beat that, boys. Besides Izuku, obviously."
FAIRY
The third test was the Standing Long Jump and most of the students were easily able to do this one without much issue. Katsuki launched himself with his explosions, Yuuga used hisNavel LaserQuirk to propel himself backward across the sand, Gajeel used hisIron Dragon Clubtechnique like a pole to essentially vault over the sand and Erza Requipped into herBlackwing Armorand flew over the sand.
Izuku managed to beat the test by using theAnimal Pathto summon a large crane that flew across the sandbox with him riding on its back before jumping off and dispelling it.
"Uh, what kind of bird is that? Is there an actual species, or…?" Denki wondered in confusion.
"I don't think so," Kyouka told him, shaking her head.
"What, you guys never seen a crane before?!" Elfman barked.
FAIRY
The fourth test, the Repeated Sidesteps, was by far the trickiest of the bunch. As such, Izuku couldn't really use any of the Paths in that test. However, Minoru showed clever use of his Quirk,Pop Off, by plucking off his hairballs, making two piles of them, and bouncing rapidly between them.
"Dang, for a tiny perv, he's got moves," Gray noted.
"Speak for yourself!" Kyouka said, pointing out that Gray had removed his gym top.
"DAMMIT!"
FAIRY
The fifth test was the Ball Throw and Gajeel was exempt since he already did it as a demonstration. Ochako blew everyone out of the water by removing the gravity from her ball and tossing it, everyone watching as it flew up and away into the stratosphere before disappearing completely.
It was then that Aizawa's device beeped and proceeded to show everyone that Uraraka had gotten the score…
"INFINITY?!"Everyone shouted at once as Natsu made a long whistle, followed by a thumbs-up.
"Damn! Nice one!"
"You go, girl!" Lucy cheered as Ochako blushed a little.
"That's insane!" Denki shouted in disbelief. "How's that possible?!"
Izuku took his turn soon after and started thinking up a game plan.
"First I'll useAsura Pathto fortify my arm. And then after I throw it..." He muttered to himself, going through the motions before holding out his palm."ALMIGHTY PUSH!"
The force wave sent the ball flying some extra meters, landing just shy of a kilometer. The exact distance was 989 meters.
"Damn! That was a great showing!" An invisible girl named Tooru Hagakure cheered.
"Such power. Why wasn't he admitted through recommendations?" A boy with half-red, half-white hair and a scar over his left eye named Shoto Todoroki wondered aloud.
Izuku let out a small sigh as he walked back to the group. His face was neutral as it usually was, at least until his friends all came to congratulate him. That made the boy crack a small smile.
FAIRY
The other four tests went by pretty uneventfully, so everyone gathered around to see the results. Izuku was fairly certain he was somewhere in the Top 10, so he wasn't too worried.
"Alright, time to give you your scores. I've ranked you all from best to worst. You should have a good idea of your standing already. I'll just pull up the list, it's not worth going over each individual score." Aizawa said as he pressed a button on his phone and pulled up a hologram of the scores.

"Now ordinarily, I'd have threatened that whoever got last place would be expelled." Aizawa began. "However, that would have just been a logical ruse to get you all to give these tests your all."
"I feel like there's something inherently wrong with that kind of tactic..." Levy whispered to Lucy.
"That's it for the day, pick up a syllabus from the classroom and read it over before tomorrow's lesson," Aizawa said as he walked off.
FAIRY
"That boy...Izuku Midoriya..."
All-Might was watching Izuku and his friends' performance from afar, a happy smile on his face.
He knew of the Rinnegan's legends and was elated it had ended up in the hands of a heroic student. He was also relieved to hear that Makarov Dreyer, AKA the Giant Hero Titan, had mentored the boy and so many others.
How did All Might know Makarov? Well, every other year, the UN would throw together a little thank you party for all the top 10 Pros worldwide. Not everyone always attended, villain attacks, travel and family matters were always a thing, but Makarov, who was 20 years All Might's senior, was a staple.
On top of his Gigantification Quirk, the man was an avid tourist who had picked up several magic tricks which, when boosted with his quirk, seemed to give him elemental powers. But strength alone was not why All Might was relieved to hear Makarov had mentored these children.
No, it was his heart: Maybe because his son Ivan turned out to be such a petty, villainous piece of crap in anger for his father 'choosing others over blood', Makarov had dedicated the latter half of his life to training and guiding the next generation. And having disowned Ivan, the man had taken a page from Whitebeard of One Piece and started viewing his students like his children; pains in the butt sometimes, but adored and would gladly guide and die for them
With that kind of mentor and the friends he had spied by his side, never mind his incredible power, analyutical mind and kind heart, Izuku would have made a fine successor to One For All.
Sadly, the Symbol of Peace shook his head as he headed off. Izuku was already well-adjusted with the powers of the Rinnegan and the support of his friends. There was no need to add another power on top of that...
...Besides, One For All was no longer his to pass on.
Knightmare Lord A/N:
Izuku and his friends have made it through their first day at UA! And in the end, it seems All-Might has already found a successor for One For All in this story! Who is it? You'll have to wait and see!
Anything you'd like to say, Mrotrax?
Mrotrax A/N:
On the matter of All Might's successor (probably the biggest question on all reader's minds), I will say this much: We have figured out a way to incorporate some Naruto characters and story elements into the story.
Another great chapter; I handled All Might's bit at the end and Mirajane's scene with Aizawa. Those who have read our fics know we jump between applauding and sometimes damning the man, so for those who need to know what we plan this time? It's a bit of both.
Until next time, stay warm, safe and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
