Chapter 2

"La'gann what the hell?!!"shouted Impulse as they started to grab their gear, "Are you trying to get kicked off the team, cause you're doing a swell job at it!!"

"I just told Nightwing that his decision sucked. Clearly, he doesn't take criticism well. He shouldn't even be leader of the team. I would be much better."

"Dude, you do realize that you aren't the best at working with a team, let alone lead one, right?"asked Beast Boy.

"Nightwing has got you all blind hasn't he? Can't you see that he just a stuck up, inconsiderate, reckless-" La'gann was then cut off by Wonder Girll punching his face.

"You shut up!! Nightwing does more than anyone else on this team!! You should be grateful that he doesn't kick you out."

"Sí, Hermano, Cassie does have a point. You should be grateful. Nightwing does a lot for you and the entire team, he deserves you respect."

"What do you know Blue Beetle? What do any of you know?"retorted La'gann.

"La'gann just hear me out, maybe your ego and pride is getting to you."broke in Robin, making his way next to La'gann, "Did you know that no one really wanted you on the team when they were looking for newer candidates?"

"Really? I always assumed that Kaldur wanted me on the team."

"Nope, let me tell you the story."

In the past, at Nightwing's cave.

"Alright, we have Wonder Girl, Beast Boy, and Robin. Who else?"asked Wally as he started to check names off the list.

"There's Jaime Reyes."recommended Artemis.

"What's so great about that kid, he just a normal kid. No offense Dick."

"None taken,"

"He's also not a meta. He's powerless, can't really do anything on the team. And ignoring the fact that we barely know him!"

"Listen Baywatch, this kid is special. From the things that I've heard, he has this artifact, called a Scarab, stuck to his back, and-"

"Eww, that's gotta hurt. How does that kid sleep?"

"Shut up. Anyway he's got this Scarab, and it gives him a full on body armour and creates any weapon he requests."

"Wally, we barely know about any of the kids. I would think Jaime should be given a chance, since we're giving everyone else a chance. And you never know, maybe this kid would surprise you more that you think."advised M'gann.

"Alright, fine. Who's next one, Dick?"

"His name is La'gann. He's Atlantian. And he has the ability to make himself grow ten times as big as his normal size."

"That is not a good idea Dick. You do not know him like I do." Kaldur warned.

"Why what's he like?"inquired M'gann.

"He's very hot headed, very biased, has a huge ego, stubborn, and has a hard time swallowing his pride."

"Well that answers that question. Will La'gann join the team, and that is nope." Wally was just about to cross La'gann's name out, until he heard Dick.

"Hold on Wally."commanded Dick, turning around, the team saw that they were about to get a lecture. "None of know much about La'gann. All Kaldur listed was the negative side of him. How could we make a decision when we know nothing about him. I was reading some of La'gann's history, and let's just say that it wasn't the greatest. From what I was reading, it seems like La'gann's parents died when he was young. After his parents died, La'gann started to be distant from everyone. He was then adopted by one of the servants, who worked in the palace. Even though he was adopted, he was still socially distant. It wasn't until he started to learn about self defense that he started to open up. He is exactly like me. In case you don't remember, I was the same way until Bruce adopted me."

"Dick, La'gann isn't much of a team player, and I'm worried that-" Kaldur began before he was interrupted.

"Look, I know that you are all hesitant about him, but imagine if it was me. Would you have taken a chance on me? Would you've let me join this group? We all know that I wasn't much of a team player when this team first formed, and look how I turned out."

"A total buzzkill, who has no humour at all. Stares at you when you eat. And could kill you in your sleep. Not to mention, makes you clean his stuff for two years just because someone asked him for a favour." muttered Wally.

"NO!! I turned out to be just fine, and last time I checked, you were the one who recommended that idea. Anyway, we're getting off point, La'gann needs this, and from the looks of it, this kid could use some friends, and this could be exactly what he needs. As the leader of this team, I want this team to be a symbol saying that we will trust you, and we won't judge you for your background. And besides, didn't M'gann just say that they should be given a chance. And who knows maybe he'll surprise you."

"That was a very persuasive argument. You know what, I'm with Dick, La'gann should be given a chance." Flying over, M'gann stood next to Dick.

"Oh what the hell. I'm in too."smiled Artemis as she made her way towards Dick.

"I don't really care, but it would be nice not being the only hot head around."commented Connor.

"Dick, you're right. I agree that La'gann should be given a chance. Let's do it." Kaldur then made his way to join the rest of the group.

"What is happening?"asked Wally with his mouth hanging open.

"Wally you'd better close your mouth before a fly flies in."commented Artemis

"Fine, if we do this then, Dick, you need to watch out for him, take care of him, clean up after him, and..."

"Wally, La'gann's not a dog!!"

"Fine. Are you really sure that you want to do this?"

"I've never been so sure in my life."smiling Dick, started to get back to work on the computer. He will finally be able to help someone, just as Bruce had helped him.

In the present

"Yeah so that's the story."finished Robin

"I never knew that."replied a shocked La'gann

"Robin where are you? We need to go!!" As Nightwing's voice bouced around the cave walls, you were able to here a slight annoyance directed towards Robin.

"Crap! Well I got to go. Wish me luck. And La'gann just think about everything I just said." Robin then ran off towards the Hanger.

As the rest team listened to Bioship's departure, Artemis came out, "You kids just going to stand here all day, or do you want to get to work?"
