A/N: I do not own any character references by JK Rowling in the Harry Potter series or agree with her comments. This story is a product of my pure imagination.
But if I am all dressed up.
They might as well be looking at us,
And if they call me a slut.
You know it might be worth it for once,
And if I'm gonna be drunk.
Might as well be drunk in love.
Send the code, he's waiting there.
The sticks and stones they throw froze mid-air.
Everyone wants him,
That was my crime.
The wrong place at the right time,
And I break down, then he's pullin' me in.
In a world of boys, he's a gentleman.
Got lovestruck, went straight to my head.
Got lovesick, all over my bed.
Love to think you will never forget.
We'll pay the price, I guess.

Hermione was pulled out of her dream of riding a unicorn by the intense growing pleasure coursing through her body. Opening her eyes, she saw Harry kissing his way down her body. Moaning as he moved over her breasts, paying attention to her nipples, she sighed, "Oh, Harry."
Harry looked up at her with a grin, "You are finally awake. Roll over. I know you were achy yesterday. Let me give you a massage before you have to get up."
Hermione smiled as she rolled onto her belly, "I am not going to be able to lay on my belly for much longer. Thank God I am not a stomach sleeper."
Harry lavished attention on her body for the next ten minutes, kneading her tired muscles and massaging all the aches and pains away as he started at her shoulders and worked his way down to her feet.
"You are purring again," Harry smiled against her skin as he kissed her back.
"I need to stop wearing heels. My calves kill me daily," Hermione said as he hit a particularly tender spot. She moaned, arching her back and feeling him against her. "Well, hello, Mr. Potter."
"Can't help it," Harry told her.
Hermione rolled onto her back and pulled him down into a kiss, then reached down, pulling her knickers off. Wrapping her leg around his hips, Harry slowly entered her. Giving her a moment to adjust, he slowly began to move inside her. Hermione matched his thrusts, moaning as she started approaching her orgasm early.
Harry rolled his hips, resting his abdomen against hers as Jamie kicked, clearly awake from their activities. Hermione frowned as Harry froze, looking down at her stomach, confused.
"What's wrong?" Hermione asked.
Harry shook his head. "Nothing," he said as he tried to continue, but Jamie kicked again.
Swallowing hard, Harry pulled out of her, making her groan in frustration. "So, you can feel him kick now. Come on! I am nearly there!" Hermione told Harry.
Harry laid on his back next to her, "He is there. Can he feel me? Oh my god, can he see my dick every time we… oh god," Harry said, covering his face.
Hermione sat up, "Seriously?!"
"I am sorry. I… I don't know," Harry groaned.
"You aren't going to touch me until he comes, are you?" Hermione said as she stood up, "For your information, sex is perfectly acceptable in pregnancy, he can't feel you other than the rocking motion, and you are not blessed with that long of a dick that he could see, so quit trying to flatter yourself. I am going downstairs to shower. You WON'T be joining me."
Hermione stormed out of the bedroom, slamming the door behind her, wincing at the fact she had probably woken Teddy up.
"I was right there! He freaked out, and I was right there," Hermione whined as she rested her head on the table. "I had to take care of it myself in the shower, and it wasn't the same."
Luna set a cup of tea in front of her, "Rolf had issues with it, too, when the boys started kicking. He did not touch me after. I don't think that will be Harry."
Hermione raised her head. "Thanks," she said as she sipped her tea. "I know that Rolf was traveling when you were at the end of your pregnancy. He wasn't traveling, was he?"
Luna sighed, "We got married too fast, and then we barely knew each other as a married couple when we found out we were having the boys. Rolf admitted he ran away. He ran scared on this crusade to find animals that were legends. Things changed when the boys were born, and he realized that children and creatures had more in common than he thought. I am sad the boys will never remember him, but I am glad they had time with him. Ron is a perfect, calming addition to our home. Rolf liked him, and it is fitting he will be who I marry."
Hermione ran her hand over her face, "You two are weirdly perfect for each other in your unique way. I need to get to work. Thank you for letting me vent, Luna." Luna stood up with her, "Sadly, I have a big case coming up, and I need to get in sooner ratherthan later."
Luna stood up with her and hugged her, "Just give him time."
Hermione hugged her back, "Thank you, Luna."
A knock on Hermione's office door made her look up from the deposition she was looking through on her desk.
"Are you busy?" Harry asked.
Hermione looked up at him, "Come on in. What is wrong?"
Harry closed the door behind him, "About this morning, I'm so sorry, Hermione."
Hermione sighed as she looked at him, "No, I am sorry for how I reacted. I just do not understand all that my body is going through anymore, then to think that I am not attractive-"
"Fuck Hermione, that's not it at all," Harry said as he stood up and walked around to lean on her desk, "It was not about you. It was about me afraid to hurt Jamie, and it… honestly, it made the fact thathe was there more real. I never felt him kick before, and the first time I felt him kick, it triggered something in me that I was hurting you or him. I cannot do that, Hermione. I can't hurt either of you like Vernon-"
Hermione stood up and hugged Harry, "Oh, Harry, darling, you will never hurt me on purpose. We will hurt each other's feelings occasionally, not purposefully, but we will never hurt each other. I want you to know that. I know you will never raise a hand to me, Jamie, or Teddy. I trust you unconditionally because I know the man you are, and I love you for that."
Harry raised his head off her chest, "My day is boring. I am thinking of heading home early. Care to tuck out with me? We can sneak out for lunch, maybe a movie? What do you think?"
Hermione bit her lip, "I think we have a case to work on together."
Harry smiled at her, "I like how you think."
Hermione stepped away from him and put files into her briefcase. "Let's get going before I change my mind."
Harry stood up and grabbed her cloak off the rack, holding it out for her to slide into. "Now, My, I don't want you to think I am calling you fat by any means, but" he ran his hand over her belly and smiled when Jamie kicked."I think I will have to start casting a notice-me-not charm on your belly."
"My time is running short with my baggy blouses and nice jumpers," Hermione said as she led him out of her office, "Opal, Harry, and I have a case that we need to work on, so I will be out of the office for the rest of the way."
Opal grinned at her, "Sure, enjoy the rest of your day."
After leaving their floor, Harry flooed their belongings to their house and then met her at the Leaky Cauldron. With a quick wave to Hannah, they left the Leaky Cauldron and walked hand in hand in muggle London, where they got in a cab and then drove up to Roni's café. Stepping out of the cab, Harry paid the cabbie and then led her into Roni's Place.
"Welcome to Roni's place. Go ahead and have a seat anywhere."
Hermione smiled, "Hey, Miss Veronica."
Veronica's face lit up as she saw them, "Oh, for heaven's sake. Please tell me the two of you are finally together after all these years."
Hermione smiled as she held up her hand, "Happily married."
"Oh, Sugar, I am so happy for you both. Have a seat, and I'll make you some lunch," Veronica told them.
"Just something simple. We are headed to the movie theatre after this," Hermione told her.
"Paninis and chips it is," Veronica told them as she headed to the kitchen.
Hermione looked at Harry after they sat down, "I'm glad we did this."
"Who would have thought Hermione Granger-Potter would skip out on work," Harry said with a grin.
Hermione looked at him, "Professionally, yes, but for you, I am Hermione Potter, legally even."
Harry looked at her, surprised, "Your name change. I would have thought you would hyphenate. You said you were going to when you were going to marry Draco."
"And I would have. With your name, I do not want to, though. I am proud to be a Potter," Hermione said with a smile.
Harry stood up and leaned down to kiss her, "I love you."
Hermione smiled as he leaned his forehead against hers, "I love you too."
*~*~* March 1, 2008 (Nineteen Weeks Along) *~*~*
Harry pulled their car up to JW Marriott Hotel, where the Wizard and Muggle Relations Gala was being held. There was already a line of cars at the valet as cars parked and exited their cars to head down the red carpet heading inside.
"Shit, Harry, some of these people are wearing something much fancier than my lace dress. That man has a hat and tailcoat!" Hermione told him.
"We are not here to impress. We are here to help Arthur, be visible, and get Rita off our backs. That is it. Old wizard families always go all out at these events. You told me that," Harry said as he kissed the back of her hand and moved the car up to the head of the line, "How far did you and Luna get today?"
"January 2006," Hermione told him as he exited the car.
Harry got out of the car as Hermione grabbed her handbag. Harry came around and opened her door for her, and Hermione looked up at him. His black tuxedo fit perfectly on his frame as the light behind him gave him a heavenly glow. Taking his hand, she gathered her lace dress in the other, careful not to snag it as she climbed out of the car. A large black satin ribbon was tied around her midsection, concealing the notice-me-not charm that Harry had placed on her stomach. Their secret would be theirs for a while longer between the ribbon and the charm until they were ready to reveal it.
"Ready?" Harry asked.
Hermione took a deep breath, giving his hand a light squeeze, and laced her fingers within his, "As ready as I ever could be."
As they walked to the hotel's entrance, Hermione's eyes roamed over the fellow guests entering. Shimmering gowns of assorted colors and wizards in top hats and tails and tuxedos blended in with the muggles with ease as the automatic doors opened for them. Together, they walked to the doors of the ballroom.
Pausing inside the doors, Hermione took in all the guests, "This is an incredible turnout," she murmured to Harry.
Harry smiled, "Arthur's done a fantastic job with the Muggle Relations Department. So many people are supporting Muggle relations now. He has been waiting for trust like this for years."
Hermione nodded. They went to the table with the place cards and found they were at table 34. Finding their table, Hermione set her shawl on her seat to cover her handbag. The Wizard and Muggle Relations Gala raised funds for the Muggle Studies Program at Hogwarts as well as the Muggle Relations Department at the Ministry, a department that Arthur now proudly led after the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts was absorbed into the new department. It was a rare opportunity for those within the Muggle government who were aware of the magical world to come together with witches and wizards in hopes of fostering closer relations.
"Hermione!"
Hermione groaned aloud as she recognized the voice of Amos Diggory and glanced up to see him weaving his way toward them through the crowd and tables. "Save me," she whispered.
Harry chuckled, "That man still holds a grudge against me over Cedric. I am not the one to save you."
Amos stopped before them, glancing at Harry andthen looking at Hermione. "Hermione," he greeted her before glancing at Harry, "Potter."
"Mr. Diggory," Harry said.
Amos crossed his arms, a slight frown on his face, "I'm… surprised to see you two here together, especially with all the controversy surrounding you in the press."
Hermione looked at him, "Most of it is manufactured lies by Rita Skeeter, of course. Harry and I have taken time to ourselves, away from the pressures of the press and gossip. But that is not why we are here tonight," she stated, "We were tired of hiding, and I refuse to let Rita Skeeter win. We are living our lives as we want, on our terms."
Amos blinked, looking between them, "You… are together then, Miss Granger?"
Hermione grinned, "In a professional capacity, I go by Mrs. Granger-Potter, but here, you can call me by my real name." she paused and looked directly into his eyes, "Hermione Potter. Now, if you will excuse us, we must find Arthur."
Hermione gave Amos a nod before pulling Harry along with her as they walked past Amos. Harry chuckled, glancing down at her as they walked towards the dance floor, where people mingled. "You know Amos is the gossipiest person in the Ministry, right? By the end of the night, the whole place will know."
Hermione grinned as she rose on her tiptoes, her lips brushing Harry's in a quick kiss. When she pulled back, she used her thumb to wipe the lipstick from his lips, "That's the plan, honey."
Harry's laughter rumbled through his chest to hers as they continued their way to Arthur. More people started glancing at them as they neared Kingsley and Arthur, standing together and talking to someone who looked like the Prime Minister.
"Is that…"
"Was Rita telling the truth?"
Hermione shook her head, "The whispers are starting."
Arthur glanced back at them, "Harry, Hermione! You made it."
Hermione accepted his hug, "We wouldn't miss it for the world, Arthur."
"It's wonderful to see the two of you here together at last," Arthur said as he leaned in. "How is our boy? I just felt him kick. He is a strong one already."
Hermione smiled, "That is our hope. We are doing well."
"Good, good. Harry, my boy, is doing well too, I assume," Arthur said, hugging him as well.
"Yes, sir," Harry said as he looked at Kingsley, "Kings."
"Where is my grandson tonight?" Kingsley asked.
"My Mum and Sirius have him," Harry told him, shaking his hand as the band started. He looked at her, "My Lady, may I have this dance?"
Hermione smiled, "I would be delighted."
Harry took her hand and led her to the dance floor. Hermione slid her arms around his neck as they made it near the stage and looked up into his eyes, "How did I get so lucky?"
Harry leaned down and kissed her, "No, I think it's me that got lucky."
Hermione smiled as she laid her head on his chest and glanced at the gathering crowds, "Well, we are getting attention."
Harry glanced over as he caught a flash out of the corner of his eye, "Well, you did great with Diggory."
"Thank you," she whispered, closing her eyes and relaxing to the melody and the calming sound of his heart beating.

Hermione opened her eyes to the smell of crepes, making her mouth water.
"Happy Mother's Day!" Teddy smiled as he sat next to her.
"Oh honey, thank you," Hermione said as she sat up against the headboard.
Harry smiled as he sat the tray on her lap, "Your conniving ways made the paper."
Hermione laughed as she held her hand out, "What did Rita have to say?"
Harry set the paper in her hands, "Mild for her."
The Boy Who Lived and the Brightest Witch of Her Age: A Secret Marriage Revealed?
By Rita Skeeter, Special Correspondent for the Daily Prophet
Well, well, my dear readers. It seems like the Golden Girl had been hiding a relationship with the Chosen One. At last night's Wizard and Muggle Relations Gala, Harry Potter and Hermione Granger were spotted arriving together arm in arm, and what a picture-perfect couple they made.
But hold onto your hats because the real shock of the night came when Hermione, glowing in a delicate lace dress, reportedly told Amos Diggory to address her by her real name, Hermione Potter. Yes, you read that correctly! Muggleborn Hermione Granger has swapped her surname to the most famous one in our world. Could Hogwarts' most famous bookworm have secretly become Mrs. Potter? How long have they been hiding this from us?
According to my reliable sources, when talking to Amos Diggory, she firmly corrected him, saying that she will be Granger-Potter in professional circles but should instead be addressed as "Hermione Potter." Oh, what cheek! When did this little wedding happen, and why were we not invited?
The couple, who have long denied their romantic involvement, seemed completely unbothered by the stir they caused. My source tells me they appeared entirely at ease, often hand in hand, as they mingled with magical and muggles alike. Just how long has this secret been kept? Hermione and Harry are no strangers to playing things close to their chests. But my instincts tell me there is more than meets the eye.
One can only imagine the fury of a certain Weasley clan when they learn of this secret relationship. After all, wasn't it Ginny Weasley that Harry Potter left at the altar? Let us not forget about Ron Weasley, the best friend to whom Hermione turned down a proposal. How scandalous, such trouble in paradise.
For now, the magical world will have to grapple with the idea that Harry Potter is married to Hermione Granger. For one, Iam preparing my new quill for the latest developments.
Hermione folded the paper and threw it aside, "Not as bad as I predicted."
"Me neither," Harry said, putting her feet on his lap. "Maybe coming public will make her lose her edge."
Jamie kicked, making Hermione smile. "Now we just have to worry about her finding out about Jamie."
Teddy touched her belly, "I will protect him." Jamie kicked under his hand, making Teddy jump, "What was that?!"
Hermione smiled, "That was your baby brother saying hello."
Teddy laid his head on her belly, "Hi Jamie, it's Teddy," Teddy giggled as Jamie kicked, "He kicked my face!"
Hermione ran her fingers through his hair, looking at Harry, who smiled and leaned over to kiss her, "Thank you."
Harry reached over to his bedside table, "I know you don't wear jewelry much, but Teddy and I got this for you."
Hermione took the box from him and opened it. Inside, a silver bracelet with charms was laidout. The bracelet's five charms included a teddy bear, a rose, a deer, a heart, and a mirror, "Oh Harry, this is beautiful."
"You deserve this and so much more," Harry said as he grabbed a magazine beside the bed and started thumbing through it, "If you could remodel the kitchen, would you like this?"
Hermione glanced at the picture. "I don't like that color, but it would be nicer to have a bigger range so that when you give me cooking lessons, we aren't on top of each other." Hermione watched him flip through the magazine, "Honey, updating the house right now is not the best idea, with Jamie coming. So do not even get the ideas in your head."
Harry glanced at her, "We can at least get ideas, so when he is older, we will be ready to update it. I mean, we already turned my room into our office. Where is he going to sleep?"
Teddy looked up, "We can get bunk beds! I will sleep on top, and Jamie can have the bottom."
Hermione ran her hand through his hair, "That is so sweet of you, Teddy, honey, but Jamie will stay with Dadda and me in our room until he is at least six months old. We can worry about expanding the house when he gets older."
"When will Luna be here?" Harry asked.
"They are all coming over for dinner. I figured we would work on notes while you and Ron make dinner," Hermione told him.
*~*~* March 3, 2008 (Nineteen Weeks Along) *~*~*
"Knock knock."
Hermione looked up and took her glasses off her face, "Hey Opal, what happened now?"
Opal shut the door behind her, "More mail has come in. I have been trying to sort the positive mail from the negative. My Witch Weekly also came in, and you made the cover."
Hermione groaned, "Another Rita article?"
Opal shook her head, "No, one of your friends. Parvati Patil?"
Hermione looked at her, surprised, as she took the magazine and flipped it open to the correct page.
The Real Story of Hermione and Harry Potter's Love, By Parvati Patil
As a proud former member of Dumbledore's Army and Hermione Granger's former dormmate, it is time to set the record straight about the love story everyone is talking about. The secret marriage of Harry and Hermione Potter. Yes, you have read that right. If you have been living under a rock for the last week, they are married.
For years, there have been speculations about Hermione's dating history. Harry's is tragically shorter. He has dated and nearly married Ginny Weasley, the model Barbie, and a few other witches and muggles with little scrutiny compared to our golden girl. Let me assure you, as someone who knows her well, most of it is fabricated gossip by one fellow reporter. I have seen the strongandbrilliant womanHermione has grown into, and I am here to tell the TRUE story.
One of the most persistent rumours started when we were only in our fourth year concerning Viktor Krum, the International Quidditch star that came to Hogwarts for the Triwizard Tournament. They studied together in the library, and Hermione often asked if it was normal for a boy just to stare at you. Viktor admired Hermione's intelligence, but their relationship was never more than friendship and an awkward kiss that Hermione expressed in our dorm room that did not seem like the movies made first kisses to be.
Hermione groaned, "Parvati, you didn't."
Opal laughed, "So your first kiss was Viktor Krum?"
Hermione looked at her, "Yes, and it was awful. His breath was horrid."
To call it a romance would be a stretch. We were all just teenagers trying to figure out the world while we tried to survive.
Yes, Hermione did date the other third of the Golden Trio, Ron Weasley. Many believed they were destined to be together after the trials that they went through in the war. As someone who lived in that same dorm, I can tell you that they were complicated. Many nights, Hermione was up in our dorm crying over something stupid that Ron had said or done to her. That was before they were romantically together. When they did get together after the war, much of their relationship was while Hermione was back at Hogwarts finishing her seventh year, while Ron attempted Auror training. After Hogwarts, Hermione and Harry left for New York to attend University, leaving Ron behind, and the physical and emotional distance was greater than they believed. It is difficult to have a long-distance relationship, even if you are a witch. They cared for each other deeply, but it was too much, and the distance helped them realize they were better off as friends. There were and never were issues between them. They knew it was time to move on.
This brings me to Hermione's notable relationship other than Harry himself. Hermione and Draco Malfoy had a brief relationship that surprised us all. I questioned it. It did not seem like they were ever truly serious about their future together. It was more of a surprise when they announced their engagement. The truth, in my opinion, is thatDraco was under pressure to marry to inherit his family's fortune. It made me wonder if the engagement was more about a business deal than a true love connection before Hermione's rational side won out. We suspected that it would not last, and we were right. Both have moved on and work together without any bad blood between them.
This is where the story gets juicy and where only a few know the truth. I am not sure even Harry and Hermione know. After a bit of a rough patch in her love life, us girlfriends of Hermione decided Hermione needed a push. Harry too. After much convincing, Hermione agreed to try Wizarding Blind Dating. The first attempt was a disaster. There were no wizards that were a fit for her. Hermione realized that casual dating was not for her. It was to get her feet wet, and our plan nearly backfired when she did not want to go back.
We are persistent. Years of being friends with one Hermione Granger will rub off on you eventually. Ginny Weasley, the star chaser of the Holyhead Harpies, herself decided to meddle and dared Hermione to try again. She also convinced Neville Longbottom to drag Harry to the same Wizarding Blind dating event. Neither Harry nor Hermione knew we were setting them up and probably learned about it through this article. Yes, the savior of our world and the brightest witch of our age are stubborn and needed a push to make them unwitting participants in what would soon become one of the greatest love stories of our time.
Here is the thing about Wizarding Blind Dating: they did not know it was each other. They met each other disguised as someone else. Harry, ever observant, which saved our arses a time or two, recognized Hermione's hands from the ink stains on her hands. Hermione was drawn to Harry by his wit and humility before realizing who he was. They ended up picking each other out of all the other witches and wizards at the event, and after that, there was no going back.
Have I mentioned how stubborn those two are? They began dating secretly, keeping their relationship from everyone in fear of fellow reporters and Greyback, who had escaped custody at the time. They wanted to get their footing solid as a couple, but they had been basically a couple since Hogwarts, so none of us honestly noticed anything different between them. This relationship was not a fleeting romance. It was true love. I will not disclose all the intimate details from the wedding I attended; it is up to them to share. I will say that when they sealed their magical bond, the room lit up in a golden dome as their bond sealed, and their love showered us with golden sparkles. The power felt in the room was palpable. It was the event of the century, filled with love, laughter, and powerful magic.
Harry and Hermione are tired of hiding. They have been together without being together for years, and now they are happily married and, after barraging comments, felt it was time to come clean. When they attended the Wizard and Muggle Relations Gala together, we all knew it was not them pretending anymore. Hermione told Amos Diggory to call her by her true name, Hermione Potter, and the rumours spread like fiendfyre through the room. Yes, they are married, and they are happier than ever.
Some people try to stir controversy or spin wild affair stories, but as someone who has known them both for years, I can tell you that Harry and Hermione are authentic. From the first year, they have had an unbreakable bond, and now they can live their lives as they are meant to be—together as partners in every sense of the word.
So, take it from me. This is no short-term romance. It is the culmination of years of friendshipandtrust, and denied chemistry, and their friends cannot be happier for them. When they decide to reveal details about their wedding and future together, I will be there to share the truth and be by their side, as always.
Hermione looked at Opal, "Can you send Parvati a gift basket for me?"
Opal smiled, "Of course." She smiled as there was a knock on the door, "I think someone else found out about the article. Come in, Harry."
The door opened, and Harry stuck his head inside, "Busy?"
"Not really. Did you see Parvati's article?" Hermione asked as Harry shut the door behind him.
"Draco came to show me. He said he is glad that it seemed like you two were together more for a business relationship than a twisted blood curse," Harry told her as he walked over and kissed her.
Hermione smiled as her hand slid down to her belly. Jamie kicked when he heard his voice. "He's happy to hear you."
Harry smiled, walked over to her, and knelt next to her chair. "Hey Jamie, my little fawn. How is my boy doing today?" he asked as he touched her belly. She smiled as she felt his magic flowing from his hand.
Opal smiled, "I'll leave you two to be."
Hermione smiled at her. "Thank you, Opal."
At the door clicking shut behind her, Harry laid his head on her belly and sighed, "I am glad this article came out because the next Rita one isn't going to be as positive. I was coming back from a raid, and reporters were in the atrium. I lost my cool."
Hermione started running her fingers through his hair, "How bad?"
Harry looked up at her, "I may have told them they all have their feet in their mouths and their heads in their arses and to keep their brown noses out of my business. That they were all fucking losers."
Hermione chuckled, "Oh, Harry. It felt satisfying though, didn't it?"
Harry smiled, "It did." Standing up, Harry sighed, "So I did something. You might be mad."
Hermione frowned, "What did you do?"
"I guess there is some fancy function that Narcissa is putting on, and I offered to watch Scorpius for Draco," Harry told her.
Hermione looked at him, surprised, "When?"
"Saturday," Harry told her.
"You do realize the girls are coming over on Saturday. We are going to have a pamper day, and I will tell them about Jamie," Hermione told him.
Harry shrugged, "Teddy and I can watch him while you all do your thing. No big deal. Sirius is at Mum's more than he is home. We can always go to his sitting room."
*~*~* March 8, 2008 (Twenty Weeks Along) *~*~*
Hermione looked up from her spot in the kitchen preparing food to be fondued when the Floo chimed from the next room. Any one of the girls probably was coming through the floo. The kitchen was making her mouth water as pizza and chicken were under a warming charm, and she had just baked a fresh batch of her newest craving: chocolate chip cookies. It seemed that Jamie had Harry's sweet tooth.
She heard footsteps behind her as she set the knife on the cutting board.
"Hermione, Draco, and Scorpius are here," Harry's voice called from the dining room.
Hermione dried her hands on the towel and turned around, "Oh, let me see him!"
Draco stepped in, carrying Scorpius in a carrier, and smirked, "So you want some direct experience before your own kid arrives? Now I get it, Potter. Congratulations, by the way."
Hermione's hand went to her belly, "Is it that obvious?"
Draco nodded, "Using a notice-me-charm at work?"
"With Rita nosing around, we are limiting who knows. Hermione has already been getting hate mail since the article came out, and we do not want Jamie dragged into the mess," Harry explained.
"Smart," Draco stated as Hermione walked over and gently lifted Scorpius from his carrier.
"Oh, look at you, Mr. Handsome," she cooed, cradling the baby.
Draco swallowed hard. "I had a specialized healer check him over. He is healthy. There are no curses or maledictions. It looks like it all ends with us."
"Thank God," Hermione stated as she looked at Draco, "He is perfect. Enjoy your night, and do not worry about him. Harry and I have everything handled. Plus, Holly will be here. She is going to be Jamie's nanny elf."
"Jamie? Is it a boy?" Draco asked.
Harry chuckled, clapping Draco on the back, "Yep. Poor McGonagall. Another Potter and Malfoy boy starting Hogwarts the same year. She might be forced into retirement."
Draco snorted, following Harry out of the kitchen.
Hermione ran a finger softly over Scorpius's chubby cheek. "I hear you and Jamie are going to be best friends," she whispered. "And don't worry; your Mummy loved you so, so much."
Harry reappeared, "Need me to take him?"
Hermione shook her head, "Can you grab the cooler from the basement?"
"Sure thing," Harry said as he went to the basement.
The floo chimed again, and Hermione stepped into the dining room to greet their first guest. Ginny appeared at the doorway to the sitting room, dusting the ash from her robes with a frown.
"Hey Ginny," Hermione greeted.
Ginny's eyes went to Scorpius, "What's Scorpius doing here?"
Hermione looked at her suspiciously, "How do you know this is Scorpius?"
Ginny laughed, "Oh please, he's a miniature Draco. I would recognize that hair anywhere."
Scorpius began to fuss in Hermione's arms as she felt Jamie kick, "Jamie, play nice."
Ginny laughed, holding out her arms, "Did he kick him? Here, give Scorp to me."
Hermione handed the baby over and watched Scorpius immediately settle, snuggling into Ginny's arms, "Since when did you become so good with babies?"
Ginny rolled her eyes, "I've lost count of how many nieces and nephews I have. You know, one of my brothers probably has knocked his wife up and just hasn't announced it yet. I've had practice."
Hermione shook her head as she returned to the kitchen, where Harry was already loading it with ice.
"Hey, Gin," Harry said, drying his hands. "I will take mini-Draco to Sirius's. If you need me, just holler," he said, taking Scorpius from Ginny.
"Don't let Teddy play video games all night!" Hermione called after him as he went into Sirius' house.
"So, how are you planning to tell the girls?" Ginny asked.
Hermione shrugged, "Draco already knew just by looking at me. I am guessing they will figure it out quickly, too."
Ginny snorted as she stole a strawberry, "Draco's seen you naked. That's why he knew."
Hermione swatted Ginny's hand, "So rude."
The floo chimed, making Hermione grin, "Well, we're about to find out just how observant the rest of them are."
Luna walked through next, looking like she had been through the ringer, holding a bottle of wine, "Sorry, I was at the Zoo all day. There is just so much to do before the opening."
"Hard to believe it's on the 17th already," Ginny told her.
"Don't remind me," Luna said as the floo lit up again. Pansy and Daphne came through next, and Theo followed behind.
Theo paused, "I don't know if I should be offended that I was finally invited to girls' night," Theo said as he looked at Hermione and grinned, "Oh, you're revealing it today, aren't you?"
Hermione frowned, feeling self-conscious, "Well shit, I didn't think I was that big yet. Harry keeps telling me that I am not fat."
"You're not," Theo assured her, pulling her into a hug, "You're beautifully pregnant."
Daphne squealed in excitement, rushing forward to hug Hermione, "I'm so happy for you!"
Hermione laughed, "Thank you."
The floo roared again. Parvati emerged in mid-conversation with Lavender, "I'm just saying she's a bitch," Parvati declared as she stepped into the room, "Hey Everyone!"
"Who's a bitch?" Theo asked, raising an eyebrow.
Lavender scoffed, "Rita, who else?"
Parvati rolled her eyes as she dropped a bag with beauty supplies on the couch, "She has been sending me threatening letters trying to get me to spill information about your wedding, Hermione. Little does she know the Prophet asked me to write an article about you all."
Hermione looked at her, concerned, "An article? About what?"
Parvati hesitated, glancing at Hermione's belly as Daphne stepped back. Her eyes widened, "Holy shit, no wonder you two got married so fast."
Hermione sighed, "The timeline may have gotten a bit… accelerated. What does the Prophet want from you?"
Parvati rolled her eyes, "The usual. The Golden Trio Ten Years Later. As if people don't know what you three are up to."
Hermione thought momentarily, "Why not make it about Dumbledore's Army instead? Everyone deserves attention. Not just us."
Angelina and Katie were next to arrive through the floo, followed closely by Hannah, Susan, and Alicia. The room quickly was filled with chatter, and Alicia quietly walked over to her, "How are you feeling?"
"Honestly, I'm fine," Hermione told her. "There might be a little soreness at the end of the day, like you said I might experience, but overall, I'm doing well."
"Good," Alicia said as Padma entered the front door with Dudley behind her.
"Sorry, I wanted to ring the doorbell, but Padma just walked on in," Dudley stated.
"Hey Dudley. Harry is over at Sirius's house with Teddy and Scorpius if you want to join them," Hermione told him.
"Thanks," Dudley said, giving a small wave before heading through the kitchen to find Harry.
Hermione clapped her hands together, drawing everyone's attention, "Okay, girls. I have pizza, chicken, fondue, and chocolate chip cookies. Baby Potter has Daddy's sweet tooth, and it is absolutely killing me," she joked, "After dinner, we'll do some pampering and watch a movie."
Everyone started helping themselves to food, and Susan walked over to her and asked, "So when are you due?"
"In July," Hermione replied, setting out the last of the veggies for the fondue, "Around Harry's birthday, actually."
"Not to be nosy," Hannah interjected, "But I thought you couldn't get pregnant."
Pansy snorted, "Come on, it is Harry Potter. Tell him he can do something, and he will do it anyway. His swimmers must have the same attitude."
Everyone laughed, including Hermione, who rolled her eyes, "It wasn't exactly planned."
"Honestly, I doubt the damage is as bad as they thought," Alicia stated.
"Well, that is one way to beat the odds. With you two, it's always expect the unexpected, isn't it?" Katie asked, shaking her head.
Hermione could not help but laugh, "It's not like we try for everything to go wrong."
Ginny smirked, "It just does. How is the book going?"
Luna sighed, her shoulders slumping, "I have been so busy with the zoo. We have only really had time to work on it on Saturdays, mostly. I should have come over earlier to help. We have nearly caught up."
Hermione took Luna's hand, "Luna, you are doing so much. You need to give yourself more credit."
Luna's face crumpled, tears spilling over as she suddenly broke down, "I am trying so hard to do what Rolf would have wanted. But the more I do, the more I realize we did not know each other like I thought."
Hermione hugged Luna, "You are doing an amazing job, Luna. The zoo will be everything Rolf dreamed of, and we all can't wait to see it. As for the book, it can wait. Don't stress yourself out over it."
Luna sniffed and wiped her eyes. "No, the book cannot wait. We have to squash that beetle, and the book is how to do it. I will come over tomorrow before we head to the Burrow, and we will finish it. We will figure out where to end it."
Parvati spoke up, "Why don't we tie it up by connecting the book to the article for the tenth anniversary of the Battle? You can end it by showing how Voldemort did not win. Harry found love, life, and how he will keep going to do amazing things."
Luna blinked at Parvati, "I like that."
"See," Hermione said, rubbing her back.
*~*~* March 10, 2008 (Twenty Weeks Along) *~*~*
Hermione was sitting at her desk, rifling through resumes for the new researcher position, when Opal knocked on her door.
"Your interviewee is here, Hermione," Opal stated.
Hermione nodded, "Great, send him in."
Moments later, a tall, handsome young wizard walked into the room. He had dark tousled hair and reminded her a bit of Harry. As he approached, Hermione glanced down at his resume. "Leo, is it?"
"Yes, ma'am," He said, offering his hand, "Leo Thornton."
She shook his hand and gestured for him to sit, "I see here that you have a recommendation from Hagrid. That is always a good sign to me."
Leo nodded, "Hagrid has always been a mentor to me since I was a child. I grew up in Hogsmeade, and my father… you see, he left when I was young. He was bitten by a vampire and left to protect me and my mum. Hagrid would see me in the village and take me under his wing. He helped me understand creatures and showed me how misunderstood many are."
Hermione nodded, "So your interest in magical creatures started young?"
"Yes, ma'am. Most creatures, like vampires and werewolves, never asked for their conditions. They deserve rights and respect, just like anyone else," Leo explained.
Hermione smiled and closed his resume, "I completely agree with you. When can you start?"
Leo blinked, surprised, "Really? I mean, I didn't expect… right now? That fast?"
"You have a recommendation from Hagrid. He does not give those out lightly," Hermione said with a smile.
"Thank you, Miss Granger, sorry, I mean Mrs. Potter," Leo stammered, "I can start immediately if you'd like."
Hermione laughed and scribbled a quick note on a piece of parchment, "Take this to the secretary upstairs on the first floor. She will get you sorted with everything you need. After that, come back, and I will have someone give you a proper tour."
Leo took the parchment, "Thank you so much! I won't let you down."
Leo hurried off, and Hermione returned to her work. When Leo returned, she had one of the other researchers show him around and invited him to chat about his adventures with Hagrid. Hermione sat beside him in her visitor chair, listening to a particular story about Grawp.
"… and then Grawp, being Grawp, just picks me up like a doll and tries to introduce me to a tree like it's his best friend," Leo laughed.
Hermione smiled, "Grawp did that to me as well, and I yelled at him. He learned my name in fact. Well, Hermy."
Leo looked at her, "You are Hermy? He would ring this bell and ask 'Hermy?' like he was looking for something."
Hermione groaned, "I figured he'd forget me after all this time."
Leo laughed as he gently patted Hermione on the back, "His thumb right here always made my back sore."
Harry walked into the office, and Hermione saw him raise an eyebrow. Leo noticed him and quickly removed his hand to stare at Harry in disbelief.
Harry cleared his throat, "Hermione, do you realize what time it is?" Harry asked.
Hermione looked at her watch, "Oh my goodness, it's time to go home."
Harry shot Leo a look, "Hello Leo."
Leo jumped to his feet. "You know my name? Of course you do. You are head auror," he said, shaking Harry's hand. "It is an honor to meet you, Mr. Potter. Hagrid's talked a lot about you."
Harry nodded, "Glad to meet you, but if you two are done, I'd like to take my wife home."
Leo smiled, "I need to get home anyway. Mrs. Potter, I'll see you Monday then."
"See you then," Hermione replied as Leo hurried out the door. Hermione turned to Harry, "Harry James Potter, what was that? Were you jealous?"
Harry shrugged, "I walked in, and he was touching you!"
Hermione rolled her eyes and held up her hand, "The door was open, and if you have forgotten, we are married, you idiot."
Harry smirked, wrapping his arms around her waist, "I know. I cannot help myself. You are my wife, and I am proud of it."
"Damn caveman," Hermione bit her lip, "Is Opal gone?"
"Yeah, why?" Harry asked.
Hermione looked at him, "Lock the door."
Harry's grin widened as he waved his hand to shut and lock the door and removed his robe, "Yes, ma'am."
Harry's eyes met hers as she shed her blouse, revealing a red lacy bra that barely contained her growing breasts. Reaching on top of her head, she pulled her clip from her hair, letting it fall. Stepping closer, she reached out and trailed her finger down his chest, "Take off your shirt, Harry."
Harry unbuttoned his dress shirt and pulled his undershirt over his head. Licking her lips, Hermione took in his toned chest and abs. Closing her eyes as she traced the line of hair to the top of his trousers, she pressed a kiss to his collarbone as she undid his belt. "Trousers off," she said.
Harry quickly shed them, and Hermione grabbed his tie off her desk and took it to tie his hands together. Pressing her lips to his, he groaned, trying to deepen the kiss, but she pulled away, "No, no, Mr. Potter. I am in charge here."
Trailing her hand back down his chest, she slid it into his boxers and felt his penis against her palm. Stroking him gently, she felt him grow harder in her hand. Pushing him back onto her desk, papers scattered around the room as she pulled his trousers down, "I'm going to regret that later." She said, looking at the scattered papers.
"My, focus," Harry chuckled.
Leaning down, she took him in her mouth, making him gasp out. He bucked his hips, and she pulled back, "Hey, now, I am in charge. You are still."
"Fuck," Harry said as his head hit the desk hard as she swirled her tongue around his head.
She knew he was nearly there from his breathingas she pulled back, "What the hell, Hermione!?"
"Not yet," she whispered as she tried to climb onto her desk, "Fuck, I didn't think this through."
Harry grabbed her other leg to support her as she climbed on top of her desk and ground her hips against his as she reached down and guided him inside her, "Fuck," Harry swore, "That never gets old."
Leaning down, Hermione kissed him. Harry grabbed onto her skirt as she quickened her pace. She felt him tense as he came and rode him harder. Soon, following him over the edge as she collapsed on top of him.
Looking down at him, she said, "I hope you learned your lesson about jealousy, Harry."
Harry grinned, "Yeah, you need to hire attractive wizards more often."
Hermione hit him, causing him to laugh.
*~*~* March 15, 2008 (Twenty-One Weeks Along) *~*~*
.
Hermione was sitting on the couch, fiddling with the bottom of her top, "Are you sure that you can't tell?" she asked, looking up at Harry.
"Can't tell what?" Neville asked, confused, sitting beside her.
Hannah snorted, "She's pregnant and doesn't want the press to know it yet."
Neville looked at her and Harry wide-eyed, "Really? Congratulations!"
Harry smiled warmly, "Thank you, Nev. It was a surprise, but he is due in July. We just don't want Rita to make a big deal of it, and the crazy women out there that think they could marry me already send her hate mail."
The floo lit up, and Parvati stepped through with Dennis following her, "I figured Dennis was a safe choice."
"Hello, Parvati," Harry said as he hugged her, "It is good to see you. Dennis," he said as he shook his hand, "Come in."
Parvati smiled, "I hope I'm not interrupting."
"Not at all. We were waiting for you," Hermione assured her.
Ron raised his glass from his chair, "Hey."
Neville stood and shook her hand, "Parvati, thanks for doing this the right way."
"Of course," Parvati said as she sat down in a chair and started her quick-quotes quill, "Honestly, I can't believe it's been ten years since… well, everything."
Ginny leaned closer. "It feels both like it was another lifetime ago and also that it just happened," she said, settling back next to Neville and Hannah on the sofa as she looked at them."I still have nightmares from that day."
"That day? That entire year," Neville stated.
"At least you guys weren't running for your lives," Ron commented.
Parvati looked at him, "So you three were on the run."
"We were undesirables, Hermione was a Muggleborn, Harry was the chosen one… we did a lot of camping," Ron told her.
Parvati nodded, "So the Daily Prophet wants to run a big feature on the tenth anniversary of the war ending. The public would love to hear from you all. What has life been like since? What are you up to now? Maybe reflections on how things have changed and hopes for the future. I want to keep this as respectful as possible."
"We know you are no Rita," Hermione told her.
"It won't be anything like that. So where do we want to start?" Parvati asked.
Harry sighed as he leaned back, "The war did not end that day. We have made significant gains on many prejudices, but they are still there. Until Voldemort's ideals end, we will not win the war completely. Life after the final battle has been a whirlwind. I thought I would never go back to Hogwarts, and I did. I never thought I would end up in the United States going to college, and I did. I have seen more of the world than I ever thought."
"Why did you not go right into the Auror academy?" Parvati asked.
Harry reached for Hermione's hand, "Honestly, Hermione. She was returning to Hogwarts, and I knew there were still people out there who could hurt her, so I went back. When she said she was going overseas, I had to go too. The best thing we could have done, though. London is so close-minded sometimes and New York was a breath of fresh air. We made lifelong friends. Grew together as friends. Honestly, I do not think I would have returned if I did not have to."
"Why did you?" Parvati asked.
"Teddy," Harry told her, "We had to be here for him and Andromeda before she passed. After that, it was focusing on the family that I had made, and growing as an Auror. I never had a chance to have a family growing up, so building one with Hermione has been the best thing I have ever done. Even before we were together, her family became my family."
Hermione wiped her tears, "After the war, I felt this need to bring change in a meaningfully. I strived to get the most education behind me to support me to do this for our world. Working at the Ministry has been fulfilling. I think I have made progressive changes. Harry and Teddy have always been at my side through it all."
"Speaking of family you've made," Parvati said as she glanced at Ron, "What about you, Ron? You are the quietest of the Golden Trio."
Ron sat up, running a hand through his hair, "Well, I have got my hands full and do not come out until it's dark out. You would think I was a vampire. Working with George at Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes has been wild. I thought I would be an Auror, but it wasn't for me. I never thought I'd enjoy running a joke shop and creating ideas. It's been good for me. Now, I have Luna," he said as he smiled at her, "And we have two boys now. I call myself the bonus dad. They are a handful, but they keep life interesting.'
Parvati looked at Luna, "And you Luna? What is the most surprising thing about life after the war for you?"
Luna looked at her, "Life is full of surprises. I thought I would continue my father's legacy, study magizoology, and write for the Quibbler. I fell in love with Rolf Scamander instead, and he showed me a world bigger than I thought. We married and had twins, then we lost him. So, I have found a way to carry on both my father's and Rolf's legacies while building something of my own. The Scamander Zoo will be opening soon. The animals are free range with boundaries for those animals that cannot interact. Hermione's department helped so much to make it possible. Helping people understand magical creatures is so important. Voldemort and the Death Eaters used them for so much evil, but most are so much more than that," Luna told her as she looked at Ron, "Then I found true love. Having Ron and our boys by my side has been truly magical."
Parvati nodded, "And you, Neville? You returned to Hogwarts."
Neville chuckled, "It has been great teaching Herbology. I am watching the new generation of students grow. Hogwarts has always been home, and now I return to her daily. After the war, I wanted to be somewhere to make a difference. The Auror Academy wasn't a fit, but Hogwarts was the perfect place. Plus, I can live in Hogsmeade and travel to Diagon Alley to see my love," Neville said as he kissed Hannah's hand, "Hannah has taken over the Leaky Cauldron and has modernized it, cleaned it up."
Parvati turned to Ginny, "You've made quite the name for yourself in the sports world."
Ginny sat back, smirking, "My brothers wouldn't let me play Quidditch growing up, so I had to sneak around. Playing professional Quidditch was a dream come true. It gave me an outlet after everything we went through. The Prophet reached out to me recently."
Ron looked at her, "Why?"
"They want me to write a column in the Prophet weekly. They want me to interview one of my opponents when we have matches. The Other Side of the Pitch is what they want to call it. I have not said yes or no," Ginny told him.
Parvati looked at them alland said, "We went through so much darkness, yet each of you has persevered past it. How do you reflect on the war ten years later?"
Hermione cleared her throat. "We'll always carry the scars of what happened," she said, looking at her forearm. "But the war taught us how important it was to fight for what is right. We do not take for granted the time we were given when others were not so lucky. It is not just about moving on; we must remember and grow on the foundations that those before us have set."
Harry put his arm around her, pulling Hermione close, nodding, "The war will always be part of us, but it does not define us anymore. We get together once a month. We used to call them Dumbledore's Army meetup. Now, it is just dinner, catching up for those who can come. What defines us is what we've done since then that Voldemort wouldn't understand. We have loved, lived, and made the world better in our own ways."
Ron grinned, "And we've managed to stay out of trouble. Well, most of us."
Everyone laughed as Hermione rolled her eyes, "The peanut gallery can shut it."
"One last question. What do you hope people remember most about the war and what followed?" Parvati asked.
Neville cleared his throat, "Those that fought before us. My Mum and Dad, Harry's Mum and Dad. Mad Eye Moody, Remus, and Tonks, and so many others. They gave their lives so we could live."
"That we never gave up," Luna spoke up, "When all the adults seemed hopeless, we kept fighting. I want people to think of the strength that it took from us. We were only 16 or 17, and we stepped up when so many ran and hid. Also, that kindness can win. Draco Malfoy turned to our side along with his mother because people were kind to them."
Ginny nodded, "And none of us did it alone. We were all in it together. Friends became family. That is what got us through."
Luna smiled, "And there is something beautiful on the other side of chaos. You have to look for it."
Harry squeezed Hermione's shoulder, and she cleared her throat, "I hope that people remember that many were forced to make the choices we had to, on both sides. We did what we thought was best at the time to survive. So many people did not make it, and we cannot forget the legacies they left behind. Love and friendship are our greatest weapons."
Parvati closed her notebook, put away her quill, and then looked at Dennis, "Did you get any photos?"
"Oh, I got some great ones," Dennis told her.
"Let us get one group shot. Please include Harry, Hermione, and Ron behind the couch, Luna, Neville, and Ginny on the couch."
Harry got up and pulled Hermione to her feet.
After a few pictures, Hermione looked at Parvati and Dennisand said, "You'll stay for dinner, won't you?"
"I'd love to," Parvati smiled as she looked at Dennis, "Put the camera away and let them relax. Can we trust you?"
Dennis frowned, "Of course."
Parvati looked at Hermione, "Drop the charm. He won't tell. You shouldn't have to hide in your own home."
Harry waved his hand, and the notice-me-not charm ended.
Neville looked at Hermione, surprised, "When are you due?"
Hermione looked at Hannah, surprised, who raised her hands. "It wasn't my place to tell," Hannah told her.
Hermione smiled at Neville, "Right before your and Harry's birthdays. The 25th."
Neville hugged her, "Congratulations." Turning to Harry, he pulled him into a hug, too, "Way to go, Potter."
Harry laughed, "Thanks, Nev."
*~*~* March 17, 2008 (Twenty-One Weeks Along) *~*~*
"What is the weather like outside?" Harry asked, pulling up his trousers.
"Cool, it's definitely a layer and warming charm day," Hermione told him as she put another top on and looked at herself in the mirror."With all these layers and my coat, I might just look frumpy from the coats."
"Did Luna pick St. Patrick's Day on purpose?" Harry asked, putting a jumper over his shirt.
"Yes, because many of the workers are Leprechauns, and she is paying them fair wages for one of the first times in their histories. They are not for guarding treasures, mending, or cobbling. They help with the caretaking of animals and running the zoo with humans. She even has a centaur on staff," Hermione said, putting one more jumper on, "How fat do I look?"
"Not at all," Harry said, handing her a scarf.
"Thanks," Hermione said, wrapping the towel around her neck."Are you going to shave before we leave?"
Harry rubbed his hand over his face, feeling the rough stubble of a third morning of not shaving. "I think I am going to grow a beard. What do you think?"
Hermione looked at him, "I don't want beard burn on my face. Scruffy you is sexy, but a full beard? I am not kissing that."
Harry grinned as he walked over to her and gently wrapped his arms around her waist, "I don't know, Hermione. I do not think you can resist me."
Hermione narrowed her eyes, "I resisted you for 16 years, Harry Potter. I think I can resist you for a bit more. Shave it."
Harry laughed and glanced at himself in the mirror, "I think not. Let us see who breaks first."
Teddy appeared in their doorway, his hair more of a chestnut brown like Hermione's for the day, "Who's breaking things?"
Harry grabbed his own scarf, "Mum thinks she can resist kissing me if I grow a beard."
Teddy made a face, "Like Dumbledore's beard?"
Harry laughed, "Not that long. Just long enough to look a bit… rugged."
Hermione shook her head as she grabbed her jacket, "Still not kissing it. Are you ready, Teddy?"
"My coat's downstairs," Teddy said, his hair flashing blue as he took off.
Harry and Hermione made their way downstairs to find Harmony watching the tele.
"You look pretty," Harmony told her.
"Thank you, sweetheart," Hermione said as Harry buttoned his coat and looked at Hermione.
"Are you sure you want to floo to Torr?" Harry asked, concerned.
Hermione gave him a pointed look, "I cannot, Portkey, and we are not driving, obviously. You first," Hermione said, holding out the pot of floo powder, "Then I'll send Teddy, then I'll follow."
Harry hesitated momentarily, then grabbed a handful of powder. "Scamander Zoo!" he called out, and it vanished in a swirl.
Teddy turned to Hermione, concerned, "Are you sure you'll be, okay?"
Hermione smiled, brushing her belly, which was hidden under her layers. "We will be fine. Now, get going. Your Dadda will worry if we do not get going."
With a nod, Teddy was whisked away after Harry.
Taking a deep breath, Hermione whispered, "Be nice to Mumma, Jamie." before stepping into the fireplace herself, "Scamander Zoo!"
The familiar swirling sensation of the floo network made her head spin, and halfway through the journey, her stomach started turning, feeling an unwelcome wave of nausea. Harry caught her just in time as she stumbled out of the zoo's gate.
"I've got you," he said, pulling her against him, "You all, right?"
Hermione nodded, adjusting her coat, "It just messed with my head a bit. I am fine now."
"Aunt Hermione!" Rang out over the crowds as Lysander spotted them.
Lorcan reached them first and launched himself into Harry's arms. "Uncle Harry! Mum said you could talk to snakes! There is a huge one. Can you talk to it?"
Harry chuckled, putting the boy on his hip, "Not anymore, I am afraid. That is a skill I do not have anymore."
Ron ran over, out of breath. "Sorry about that. You two know better than to run off."
Hermione stumbled slightly and Ron caught her, steadying her.
"Thanks," she muttered as he put his arm around her shoulders. "It was a pretty good turnout."
Ron beamed, "I am so proud of Luna. I was not sure about her putting the zoo here in Torr, but she said it was a Scamander property, so it made sense. Plus, the local Leprechaun community pitched in. They were glad to help once they knew they would be paid fairly."
A hush fell over the crowd as Luna came to the gates, "Hello everyone, I am Luna Lovegood-Scamander, and welcome to the grand opening of the Scamander Zoo!"
Hermione clapped along with everyone else.
"Rolf had a dream to share this vision with you all, and today, it is an honour to share his dream with everyone. We celebrate him and the magical creatures who call this place home. Also, thank you to the workers who made this possible, especially our friends from the leprechaun community, who graciously offered their help and talents. We hope that this zoo will be a place of education, wonder, and above all, respect for creatures magical or otherwise."
With a round of applause, the ticket gates officially opened. Ron nodded to the side, "Follow me."
Heading through a special door, Ron led them into the zoo, and they took in the magical creatures in their carefully designed habitats, from a herd of injured Hippogriffs that sat proudly to a family of Bowtruckles living in their enchanted trees with fairies.
At one of the exhibits, a Nundu prowled majestically behind its enchanted glass, and that was where Luna found them.
"What do you think?" Luna asked as Ron slid his arm around Luna's waist.
Teddy's face lit up, "This is awesome, Aunt Luna!"
"I am glad you like it. We worked ashard as possible to make sure every creature has a habitat as close to their natural environment as possible," Luna explained.
Harry wrapped his arm around Hermione. "It is incredible, Luna. Truly, from a regulations perspective, they are happy and cared for. I love it," Hermione told her.
Luna smiled, "Now, if I could only find the Crumple-Horned Snorkstacks. We have Nargles and Wrackspurts in the building. I was able to make glass from spectrespecs material and now everyone can see wrackspurts and nargles."
Harry looked around, "And I love how it is so calming here. No one has bothered us."
Luna laughed, "Oh, that is because of O'Brien. He is our youngest Leprechaun, and I have him on crowd duty. If someone looks like they will bother you, he steps in."
*~*~* March 20, 2008 (Twenty-One Weeks Along) *~*~*
Hermione made her way through the tables at the Ministry Canteen as it buzzed with lunchtime chatter, balancing her tray with a small sandwich and a fruit cup. Spotting Harry sitting with Ron by the window, she smiled and slid into the chair across from Harry.
Harry was scratching at his beard, which was starting to get fuller, frowning slightly, and Hermione could not help but smirk, "It's bothering you, isn't it?" she teased, unwrapping her sandwich.
Harry looked at her, "No," he grumbled.
Ron looked at them, confused, "What is… this?"
Hermione shot Harry a pointed look. "Harry decided to grow a beard, " she said, taking a bite of her sandwich.
"And Hermione said she wouldn't kiss me until I shaved," Harry added.
Ron laughed loudly, nearly spraying his mouthful of chips across the table, "I'm guessing you haven't given in then?"
Hermione raised an eyebrow. "Of course not. Do I have beard burn on my face?" she asked, stabbing an orange slice.
Shaking his head, Ron stuffed another handful of chips into his mouth. "You two are ridiculous," he muttered, his voice muffled through the food. "Anyway, the zoo's been doing great! Tickets have sold out every day so far."
"That's wonderful," Hermione said, glancing at the food on his shirt with mild disgust, "Ron, you have food on your shirt."
Ron looked down and, without hesitating, picked the crumbs off his shirt and popped them into his mouth. "Thanks."
Hermione looked away from him at Harry and sighed while watching him eat his chips. "I miss eating whatever I want without feeling queasy." Biting her lip, she looked at him with soft eyes, "Harry… can I have one of your chips, please?"
Harry swallowed hard, "Sure."
Hermione reached over and picked up a chip from his plate. Taking a slow bite, she fluttered her eyes closed for a second, "Mmm," she moaned as the saltiness of the chip hit her tongue, making it water, "Salty, crisp, just the right amount of fullness on my tongue."
Ron snorted, nearly choking, "Merlin's beard! Closet freaks, the both of you. I don't know what I am watching, but I don't want to be watching it."
Hermione licked the salt from her lips with the tip of her tongue, pulling a small lip gloss tube from her pocket. She slowly applied a fresh coat and smacked her lipswith a soft pop. "You were just watching me enjoy a crisp after being so good," she said innocently as she slipped the gloss back into her pocket."That's all."
Ron grumbled and shook his head, "If you say so."
Hermione stood, gathering her now empty tray, "Well, it's been a pleasure as always, Ronald. Harry, try not to scratch your face off."
As she walked over to the bin to dispose of her rubbish, she grinned as she heard Harry tell Ron, "She's killing me, mate," Harry muttered, "But I'm trying to prove a point."
Ron laughed as he patted Harry on the back, "Good luck with that, mate. She is as stubborn as you are."
*~*~* March 23, 2008 (Twenty-Two Weeks Along) *~*~*
The sun was shining over the Burrows' back garden as the Weasley family gathered for Easter Sunday. The smell of ham and freshly baked bread filled the air, making Hermione hungry as everyone milled about, catching up on the family gossip. The garden was dotted with colorful eggs, hidden throughout, just waiting for the little hands to find them.
Harry, Hermione, and Teddy had arrived earlier with Sirius and Juliet in tow. Ron and Luna had arrived first with Lysander and Lorcan, who were already running around with Teddy and Victoire in the front of the house. Dominque and Fred followed, with little Molly toddling after them. Roxanne was on a blanket crawling around while George set up the hunt with Bill supervising.
Theo walked up next to Hermione after he and Charlie arrived, "How are you feeling?"
"Sexually frustrated, but as far as the pregnancy, fine," Hermione told him.
Harry picked up little Molly as she fell and laughed as she immediately took off. She smirked as Harry scratched at his over-week-old beard, knowing he was trying to outlast her in their game.
Hermione crossed her arms over her chest, "Are you really going to keep this up, Harry?"
Harry grinned as he leaned in closer, "I think you are the one that will break first."
Hermione raised an eyebrow as George called for all the kids to come to the back after Ginny finally arrived.
Being the oldest, Teddygrabbed Molly's hand, and Victoire took Fred's. When George said, "Go! " They all took off except Teddy, who knelt next to Molly and said, "Watch this."
Hermione watched as Teddy closed his eyes and stretched out his hands. His hair turned a brilliant shade of blue as he pinched his brows. Hermione could feel the magic in the air as eggs started floating around him, and he opened his eyes as they dropped into Molly's basket.
Harry gasped as an egg flew by him, "Did you know he could do that?"
Hermione grinned, "Who do you think he's been practicing with?"
George stood with his arms crossed and snorted, "I wonder who he learned that from, cheater," he said, winking at Hermione.
"I didn't teach him," Harry replied, proudly watching Teddy.
"All right, adults, no summoning charms," George announced.
All the kids gathered their eggs as George set up the adult hunt.
"Look, Mumma, chocolate. Can I have a piece?" Teddy asked as he opened his dozen eggs.
"Of course, sweetheart," Hermione said as George exited the marsh.
"All right. There's no cheating; we're playing fair and square. Five eggs per person," George instructed. "Go!"
Bill ran off, nearly knocking Fleur over, as Hermione ran off towards the tall reeds, scanning the ground for any color. Just as she bent down to peer into a clump of bushes, she felt a warm breath on her neck, and the scent wasunmistakably Harry.
"Find any eggs?" he asked, his voice low.
Hermione stood up straight, "Not yet," she replied.
Without warning, he pulled her into his arms and pressed a soft kiss on the side of her neck. Hermione's breath caught in her throat as she closed her eyes.
"Shit, Harry," she whispered, feeling his magic wash over her.
His lips brushed her ear, and he whispered, "Just give in, Hermione."
Hermione opened her eyes. "Not going to happen," she said, pushing him backward. He tripped, off guard, falling into the marshy reeds with a loud splash. Looking up at her, water dripping from his hair, he laughed, "I deserved that."
Hermione grinned, "You will have to try harder than that if you want a kiss. Like shaving."
Harry stood up, his clothes soaked, "All right, you win this round," he said, shaking his head.
"Let's go find some eggs," Hermione said as she set her wand on her hand, "Point me to the eggs." Smiling, she looked at Harry, "It's not summoning them."
Harry laughed, "Whatever happened to my rule follower?"
"She set Snape's robes on fire in our first year, and I got a taste for mischief," Hermione said.
Sirius ran through the reeds and skid to a stop before them, "Wait, hold up. Did I hear you correctly? Did my girl set Snape on fire?"
Hermione laughed, "I thought he was cursing Harry."
Sirius took her head into his hands and kissed her forehead, "You have to show me the memory of that one."
Before dinner, Harry went inside and came out of the loo, completely shaven. Hermione grinned as she walked over and kissed him hard, "Thank you."
"Muck got in it, and it was itching worse," Harry defended as he pulled her in for another kiss.
A/n:
This week I had a realization that this story was just an idea I got on a five-hour road trip to Washington DC by my lonesome when my Spotify was stuck on Taylor Swift's complete collection. Her song Enchanted came on and gave me the idea of the blind date. Other songs are brought in through different parts throughout the story. While writing this story, I tried to make it into a story I felt was missing from the Potterverse. I hope others enjoy it as much as I have been writing it. Sadly, it is coming to an end. Depending on how the muses go, I have either reached the second to the last or final chapter. Jamie is here and I just want to tie up some loose ends before ending it. Their story will continue; in fact, I previewed it on my Tumblr. I expect it in February or May, depending on my class schedule. It won't be a consistently updated story like Enchanted, but I'm excited about it.
Thank you to this week's new followers: mangomonsterman, and RVDLegsTrish.

Here is the preview:

Fate and time are not on their side, and sending the traveler back would equal their demise.
Preview of Chapter 45- Fearless
Seamus's eyes widened as he laughed loudly, "Oh my god, that explains everything! Potter done knocked her up!"
Hermione groaned, running a hand through her hair, "Don't be crass, Seamus."
Harry glanced around at their friends' faces, and Hermione sighed, "Yes, Harry and I were planning to announce it at the Remembrance ceremony, but I suppose we might as well tell you all now. We're expecting a baby boy in July."
Their friends erupted in cheers and congratulations as Hannah smiled, "Corbin Boot was born earlier this week. You are having a baby, and Malfoy had a kid. Watch out, Hogwarts."
Dudley let out a booming laugh. "This is classic," he said, shaking his head. Glancing at Padma, she nodded, "Well, it looks like my cousin's kid won't be too far ahead of his own cousin. We're due in November."
The room went quiet, and Harry turned to Dudley, "Seriously?"
