Miraculous: Return of the Dark Moth - Chapter Five
Chapter 5: The Celestial Guardian
Synopsis: During the days that Dark Moth had possessed Shadow Moth, Marinette meets Su-Han, the Celestial Guardian of the Miraculous. He knows that she is Ladybug and wants the Miracle Box back, convinced that she stole it. But Su-Han learns that Master Fu gave it to her and decides to punish him and take his guardian's staff back. Amnesiac, Fu does not recognize the Celestial Guardian and mistakes him for a thief. Feeling attacked, he is akumatized into Furious Fu and wants his cane back along with an apology. Will Ladybug save Master Fu and prove that she is the rightful Guardian of the Miraculous?
Days had passed for Marinette and Adrien as Ladybug and Cat Noir. They had fought Luka as Truth when he tried to get the truth of what Marinette's hiding, Kagami as Lies when she wanted to rid the world of people telling lies to her, and Harry Clown, a good friend of Gabriel Agreste who Dark Moth akumatised to become Psycomedian, a clown character with the power to change anyone's emotions.
Now Wang Fu was visiting Paris with his friend, Marianne from London. Marinette was panicking when the Kwamis wanted to come with her to see their old Master.
"But we wanna see him!" Mullo spoke. "We all missed Master Fu..." Sass and Pollen spoke. "Let us visit him! Come on!" Xuppu pleaded.
Marinette took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. "Look, guys," she began, "You know the rules. Master Fu can't find out about the kwamis ever he passed the Miracle Box to me, and lost his memory." Trixx pouted. "I thought PJ and Inky got his memory back at the end of the Akuma Wars." He said. "It was only temporary." Wayzz stated. "Yeah… I miss Inky." Pollen said. "We all do. PJ too." Marinette said to the Kwamis. "Yeah. Sure he was the new guy and he was shy around us, but we gave him a good time when were all together in the Kwami Realm." Trixx said as a flashback came to them.
"Kuh-Kwami Conga! Kuh-Kwami Conga! Kuh-Kwami Conga! Kuh-Kwami Conga!" Inky sung with the other Kwamis as he was in a conga line with Xuppu the Monkey Kwami leading the group, and he was with Tikki, Plagg, Nooroo, Duusu and others. In the conga line, they hum to the tune of the Map Theme from Yoshi's Island as the flashback ended.
"Sticking back to the subject." Barkk spoke as she approached. "Someone needs to stay and guard the Miracle Box," she continued. "What if there's an emergency?" Sass then has an idea. "Why don't we let fate decide?" The Snake Kwami spoke up. "Yeah; let's do Kwami-Kwa-Who!" Xuppu and Daizzi shouted, as Marinette was confused. "Kwa-What?"
Mullo, the picker, shows Marinette how the game of "Kwami-Kwa-Who" works. The Mouse Kwami randomly points at different kwamis with each passing word. "Kwamk-kweeny-koomy-who, the special chosen one is…" Mullo abruptly points at Marinette. "YOU! There — Marinette stays!" The cheerful kwamis fly towards the window. Fortunately, Marinette runs in front of their way in the nick of time. "Stop right there! That's cheating! Besides, I'm the Guardian; I get to decide. Period! Besides, I'm taking Wayzz with me." She spoke as Tikki was in her coin purse. "And Marinette needs me if she needs to transform."
"Hmm, she leaves us no choice..." Mullo spoke as Xuppu the Monkey Kwami shouts. "Commence "Operation: Kwami Baby-Doll Eyes!" The Kwamis enlarge their eyes to appear cuter. "PLEEASE?!" They pleaded as they got closer to Marinette. "Uh... fine..." She looks at each of the Kwamis, who are all pleading to go. "Any.. Kwami willing to volunteer?" She asked as Barkk the Dog Kwami steps up. "The kid has a point!" She is watching a movie on Marinette's computer, taking everyone else by surprise. "What if an akumatized villain or a Sentimonster shows up? I have a bad feeling about this. You go, I'll keep watch." Barkk said.
"Thank you, Barkk." Marinette thanked to Barkk, since she was more the responsible one of the group. She picks up and opens her school bag. "Come on! Everyone inside!" All the Kwamis cheer as they fly inside. "But I'm warning you - not even a peep out of any of you." Then Marinette leaves her room, and down to the kitchen to pack a picnic, and runs to the train station.
Next scene takes place at the Gare du Nod area of Paris.
"Ready?" Longg the Dragon Kwami spoke as the Kwamis starting to sing. "Dear Master Fu's on a..." Marinette panics and looks in her backpack as civilians look at her weirdly, Marinette grabs her phone. "It's my phone. It started on its own again." She said. She then looks at her backpack. "If it doesn't stop right now, I swear it's gonna end up in the trash!" Marinette throws her phone back in her backpack, civilians shrug and keep talking, Su-Han watches from a trash can and moves away.
A train pulls up and stops, Marinette sees Marianne and Wang Fu leave the train. "Hi, Marianne. She greeted as she hugs Marianne. "Hello, Marinette." Marianne spoke as she turns back to Fu. "Do you remember her, my love? She's the young girl who found you after your paddleboat accident. The one that caused your amnesia." Fu smiles at Marinette, Marinette tearfully hugs him. "I'm so glad to see you again, Master... I mean, Mr. Fu." Marinette spoke. "My dear child, you reunited me with my beloved Marianne. I can never thank you enough." Fu said as Marinette smiles at him.
Next scene was at a bench in the Seine. Marinette hands out cakes to Fu, who then takes his cake and hands second cake to Marianne.
"Yes, life in London has been quite wonderful." Fu said about life in London. "Would you believe it? Wang discovered a passion for painting." Marianne said as Wayzz pokes out of the backpack. "Actually, as a thank you for helping me, I want to give you this painting." Fu hands Marinette a painting with a lot of scribbles. "Thank you. It's... really... Uh, am I holding it the right way?" Marinette asked confused as Fu laughed. "Yes. I'm not sure myself what's supposed to represent." Fu explained as Marinette sees Wayzz on the ground and panics, and tries to grab him.
"But when I think of you, this is what I see. So, there you go." Fu sees Wayzz and picks him up. "What's this?" Fu then pokes Wayzz's head lightly. "That's such a cute little doll. Is it yours?" He asked as he hands Wayzz to Marinette. "Yes! It probably fell out when I took out the cake." She laughed nervously as she puts Wayzz into her backpack. "HE TOUCHED ME! HE TOUCHED ME!" Wayzz said silently and excitedly. Marinette then takes Wayzz out. "I didn't show you! It talks too." She chuckles, imitates Wayzz. "He touched me! He touched me!" She said as she puts Wayzz back, and the same mysterious man watching Marinette looks from a box on a scooter.
"So, what are you going to do while you're visiting Paris?" Marinette asked. "Paint, of course." Wang Fu replied as he grabs his supplies. "Montmarte, the Tuileries gardens, the banks of the Seine. Is there any better place to paint than Paris?" He then starts to paint. "Go on. Don't mind me." Marinette and Marianne chuckle. "Another slice of cake?" Marinette offered as she hands Marianne a piece. "Please." Marianne accepted as the painting of the scene appears. Minutes later, Marinette heads back to her home.
Marinette returns to her room. "He looked as strong as a tiger!" Roarr the Tiger Kwami spoke. "Unusual painting, though." Xuppu stated. "Is there still cake?" Daizzi asked. The Kwamis leave her backpack, Marinette gets shocked by the sight of the mysterious man that was watching her as he was holding the Miracle Box and Barkk. "I told you I had a bad feeling about this." Barkk spoke as the man looked at Marinette.
"How come you are in possession of the Mother Box, young lady?" He asked with a stern look.
Marinette looked to the sewing box where the Miracle Box is usually kept, realizing it is empty. "Who are you?" Tikki flies to Marinette. "That's Grand Master Su-Han. The celestial guardian of the Miracle Box." She informed to her friend. "But I'm the guardian of the box." Marinette stated. "The Celestial Guardian was in charge of it before that incident caused by Master Fu." Tikki said as Barkk flies back to the other kwamis, and Marinette was angry and confused. "How did you find me?" Marinette requested an answer from Su-Han. "The guardians' staffs hold compasses that allow the boxes to be tracked at all times."
"Hey! That's not fair! Why didn't I get a staff?" Marinette shouted. "Precisely because you are not a true guardian! This is all a misunderstanding, and the incorrect shape of the box proves it." Su-Han explained. "But I don't get it. Master Fu entrusted it to me." Marinette spoke, but Su-Han looked shocked at the mention of that name. "FU?! As in Wang Fu, also known as Whiny Chicken Leg?! That incompetent disciple unable to spend one entire day without eating, or do a thousand finger push-ups?! Fu should never have been a guardian. That low-life never lived up to the hopes that were placed in him." He shouted.
"Master Fu may have made mistakes when he was young, but he bravely protected the box for years! He even sacrificed himself and erased his own memory to save us!" Marinette explained as she shows him the painting he made. "And now, he's become a great painter!" Su-Han continues to look disappointed. "That old man is Whiny Chicken Leg?! Wait..." He looks at the kwamis. "Some kwamis are missing." He stated from observation. "When Master Fu gave the box, he already lost Nooroo, Duusu, and their Miraculous, the butterfly and the peacock. But they're safe after Paint Panda helped us during the Akuma Wars." Marinette explained as Su-Han gasps in shock. "He's lost a Miraculous too?!" He shouted as he speaks to himself; annoyed.
"He's even more incompetent than I thought." Su-Han then notices Plagg is missing. "PLAGG! Young girl, where is Plagg?!" He demanded. "That I know… Cat Noir is his holder, and he's safe too." She explained as Su-Han spoke suspiciously. "And who is Cat Noir? And who is Paint Panda?" He asked. "A hero and a reliable friend. Paint Panda was a young newbie, but… he made a Miraculous and a Kwami of his own before he left." Su-Han is confused until, he sees that Marinette is wearing the Ladybug Miraculous. Upset by this, Su-Han sits down and is angry about current situation.
"So this is the modern world: protected by a group of careless fools. Guardians must never wear a Miraculous! Some jewels missing and Plagg roaming free?! And a Panda Miraculous hero I never even heard of… The end of dinosaurs and dragons - doesn't that alarm anyone?!" Su-Han grunts and slams his staff into the ground. "That's enough! Kwamis, get in ying-yang patterns and back inside the box." He demanded as he opens the box, and the kwamis except for Tikki enter the box, disappointed.
"What are you doing?!" Marinette shouted as Su-Han closes the box, puts in his sack and takes out a book.
"Let me remind you about some of the Perfect Precepts that you have broken." Su-Han then flips through the pages. "Precept 14: Kwamis must not live outside the box." He flips the pages again. "Precept 52: Guardians must never lose a Miraculous." He flips through the pages a third time." He flips pages again. "Precept 133: A guardian cannot, under any circumstances, wear a Miraculous." Su-Han closes the book.
"But Master Fu wore one himself!" Marinette pointed out once. "Precisely! That just proves what I've been saying all along! Neither you nor Fu were up to the role of Guardian, because neither of you have respected the ancient absolute rules of our order! Not to mention the fact that no child should be a keeper of kwamis! They are ultra-powerful cosmic entities! One must manage them with authority, which you are obviously incapable of doing!" Su-Han shouted strictly as he looks at Marinette's computer. "En garde, my lord!" Said the blue knight in the movie.
Su-Han gets in his fighting stance. "Challenging me like this is akin to pulling on the tiger's whiskers, you villain!" He charges at the computer, until Marinette stops him. "Whoa! Easy there. Calm down! It's just a movie. See?" She pointed out as Su-Han was amazed a little. "Such a powerful spell! How did that warrior end up in this flat prison of glass and metal?" Su-Han asked as he knocks on the computer screen. "Anyway, we must waste no more time! Take me to Cat Noir, young lady. Now."
Marinette speaks to Tikki. "Do you think this is a good idea?" She asked to her Kwami. "I don't know. It might be best to do as he says. After all, he is the Celestial Guardian." Tikki replied. "Oh, I guess you're right." Marinette spoke sadly.
Cue Ladybug Transformation Sequence.
"Tikki, spots on! Ah!" Marinette said unhappily as Tikki warps into her earrings, and she transforms into Ladybug.
Ladybug calls Cat Noir on her phone. "What are you doing to your weapon?" Su-Han asked. "This is my Bug-Phone, to talk to Cat Noir." Ladybug pointed out, making Su-Han confused. "You don't have to send doves to communicate with each other?" He asked.
Scene changes to the Parisan rooftops as Su-Han followed Ladybug to Cat Noir.
"S'up, m'lady? Who's the new guy?" Cat Noir asked as Ladybug looks sadly at Su-Han. "Of course, another child." Su-Han said frustrated as Ladybug speaks. "Cat Noir, this is—" Su-Han interrupts. "I am Grand-Master Su-Han, the Celestial Guardian of the Mother Box." He said, leaving Cat Noir surprised. "What? Aren't you supposed to be guardian, M'lady?" He asked to Ladybug. "When the lion speaks the cub listens! First off you two are going to hand over your Miraculous to me." Su-Han demanded. "Is that a bad joke?" He smiles at Ladybug. "Because I know all about bad jokes." He spoke.
Ladybug tries to calm him down. "Look, we need these Miraculous to keep Paris safe from Shadow Moth AND Dark Moth. We can't just give them up like that. Plus, my memory would be erased and I'd forget everything!" Ladybug exclaimed. "Everything?" Cat Noir asks with a hint of sadness in his voice, realizing she would forget about being Ladybug, and the memories they made during the Akuma Wars.
"But... if we give them up, we can't stop Shadow Moth or Dark Moth!" Ladybug protested. Su-Han looked at them seriously. "Your memories are but a small price to pay for order and balance in the universe. You're just children playing heroes!"
Cat Noir stepped in front of Ladybug protectively. "You don't know us. We've saved the city countless times, and we won't just hand over our Miraculous like that!" Su-Han's expression grew sterner. "Your disobedience is unacceptable. You must understand the gravity of your situation. I will take back what is rightfully mine, and if necessary, I will take it by force!"
Unwilling to lose the one whom he loves or losing precious memories with her, Cat Noir bravely defies Su-Han and prepares to fight. "You want my ring? Then come and get it!" Cat Noir said angrily. "Fine." Su-Han spoke. "Cat Noir, calm down. That's a Guardian you're talking to. We're gonna find a solution." Ladybug said to her partner until he started fighting with Su-Han as he does several Kung-Fu moves. "Why do you think guardians study for so many years? Just to hand the Miraculous out to whomever? No. We are specially trained to overpower the Miraculous holders who have gone rogue, like YOU!" Su-Han charges at Cat Noir. "Celestial Storm! The thousand fists of the Yama bring in the bearings wiped out!"
Su-Han starts using all of kung fu moves to make Cat Noir fall and roll over to a chimney. He then jumps on Cat Noir. "At least Master Fu was way nicer." Cat Noir said weakly. "And his Mira-Kung Fu was worse." Su-Han grabs Cat Noir's hand, and reaches for the ring, but Ladybug throws her yo-yo at Su-Han's arm, flinging him backwards. Su-Han lands on a chimney cap. "Grand-Master, the last I heard, I was the Guardian! And I say that Cat Noir keeps his Miraculous, and I keep mine!"
"Cat Noir, grab his staff." Ladybug points at Su-Han with one hand, and holds her yo-yo in the other. She searches for the movie Barkk was watching. "The claws of the hungry cat, powerless against the milkman's iron box." Su-Han spoke as Ladybug throws her yo-yo beneath Su-Han and plays the video from earlier. "En garde, my lord!" Blue Knight said in the movie. "Has the warrior escaped?" Su-Han asked as Ladybug snags Su-Han's sack. "Got it!" She shouted. "Bye-bye!" Cat Noir kicks Su-Han into a wall and he grabs his staff and Ladybug shatters the wall on Su-Han. He digs out, but Ladybug and Cat Noir are gone with his staff and the box. "If you challenge the clouds, you will face the thunder!" Su-Han shouted.
Scene changes to Shadow Moth's lair. The window opens. Dark Moth and Shadow Moth sense Su-Han's frustration towards Ladybug and Cat Noir over the Miracle Box.
"What's this? Shadow Moo, I'm sensing a mixture of mysterious emotions: a scorned authority, a confused man defeated, but most of all, an anger ready to explode!" Dark Moth smirked as he snaps his fingers at Shadow Moth, making him turn a butterfly into an akuma. "Forgive me, my little akuma…" Gabriel said with remorse. "Find this newcomer, and let the lava of punishment erupt from his volcanic heart!" Dark Moth shouted.
Su-Han looks around for Ladybug and Cat Noir from the rooftop. "Ugh! If I still had my staff, I would hunt you down in no time!" He then spots Wang Fu in Jardin des Tuileries, along with Marianne. Fu is seen painting. "Huh? Fu!" He jumps down to the Jardin des Tuileries where Su-Han attempts to force Wang Fu's cane from him, but Fu gets hold of his cane.
"Hand over your staff, Whiny Chicken Legs! You don't deserve it anyway." Su-Han said harshly to his ally. "Have you lost your mind, young man?!" Fu asked sternly. "You leave my partner alone!" Marianne whacks Su-Han with her cane several times, as Su-Han sees the akuma headed for him, gasps. "An akuma!" He shouted having to act quickly to repel it.
"Whirlwind of wisdom! The virtuous wind resists the temptation!" He said as he begins meditating, and repeats, "My anger is mine but I am not my anger. My anger is mine but I am not my anger." He said as the akuma couldn't touch him. "What the?! Get closer!" Dark Moth shouted as the akuma tried to touch him, only to be deflected from his barrier. "Enough! Fool, you're making me lose precious time!" Su-Han aggressively grabs the cane from Wang Fu, causing both Fu and Marianne to fall. He looks inside the cane, noticing a hidden staff, and starts to walks away.
"Marianne, are you okay?" Fu asked as he helps her up. Angry with Su-Han for pushing him and his wife, and upset with him for stealing his cane, Wang Fu puts the pencil to his ear and grabs a hold of the cane Su-Han took. "Where do you think you're going? You apologize to my partner and give my cane back at once, you boar!"
In Shadow Moth's lair, Dark Moth had a better idea. A wonderful, awful idea. "Turn around, akuma! Get him instead!" Dark Moth demanded to Shadow Moth's shock as he recognized Wang Fu. "No! Stop!" He shouted as Dark Moth began to possess him and force the akuma enters Fu's paint brush. "Hello, Fu… we meet again." Shadow Moth said. "Do I know you?" Fu asked as a butterfly mask appeared over his face, signifying Shadow Moth's communication as Dark Moth possessed him.
"Furious Fu, I am Shadow Moth. The heartless thief before you had disrespected you and your partner. Therefore, I will give you the power to make him pay! You show him who's in charge, not the other way around! While you're at it, bring us Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous." Shadow Moth said with his voice changing with Dark Moth taking control of his body. "Care to repeat that once more? I didn't understand." Fu spoke.
Dark Moth makes an annoyed, angry growl similar to Homer Simpson while controlling Shadow Moth. "Do you want revenge on this character and get your cane back or not?!" He shouted. "Oh, I do." Wang Fu said as Fu was akumatised and turns into Furious Fu. "All Hail Dark Moth!" He shouted. "Who?" Marianne asked in shock. "Where'd he go?" Furious Fu demanded.
"My love, please! It's not worth it." Marianne pleaded. "That reckless toad will not spit in the dragon's face without apologizing!" Furious Fu shouted as he takes out paint brush and writes the Chinese word, Fāxiàn. "FIND!" His paper flies off in the direction of Su-Han.
Scene changes to the Parc des Princes area in Paris. Ladybug and Cat Noir discuss what to do with the Miracle Box.
"Now what? Should we hide it?" Cat Noir asked. "And then what? He knows who I am anyway. He knows where I live! It's bad enough PJ and Paint Panda know who we are." Ladybug said as Su-Han had appeared to them. "Ladybug! Cat Noir! Give me back the Mother Box and your Miraculous! Return them to the right hands!" Su-Han demanded as Ladybug sees Fu's cane. "Hey, that's Master Fu's cane." Ladybug shouted. "I want my cane and an apology!" Furious Fu shouted as he writes Léidiàn with his paintbrush. "Thunderbolt!" His paper goes into the sky and creates a dark cloud shooting red lightning, which Ladybug, Cat Noir, and Su-Han dodge.
"Why are you fighting us?!" Cat Noir asked as they jumped away. "Dark Moth must've gotten to him!" Ladybug spoke. "You have no right to hold onto those Miraculous! Give them to me, and I will handle the situation!" Su-Han shouted back. "I'm not going anywhere without an apology to Marianne!" Furious Fu shouted.
The battle was intense as the three of them dodged the lightning bolts from the sky. "We need to get to the Miracle Box before he does!" Ladybug exclaimed. "But we can't let him take it from us!" Cat Noir responded.
Furious Fu turned his attention to Su-Han. He writes Diāoxiàng with his paintbrush; places the paper of Su-Han's forehead. "Statue!" As he said this, Su-Han stops like a statue and Fu takes his cane back. "Finally." He said. "Impressive." Shadow Moth communicated with Dark Moth's voice. "Now you get Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous." He demanded.
"Very well. So I have to take the wingless bat's bell, right?" Furious Fu asked as Dark Moth looked annoyed. "No! It's his ring, you amnesiad idiot!" He shouted as Ladybug and Cat Noir talk about a plan just off the field. "I am not a wingless bat!" Cat Noir shouted as he about to start fighting again until Ladybug stops him. "Cat Noir, wait. We'll never defeat him." She said. "What?"
"We just need him not to defeat us either." Ladybug said about Furious Fu. "I'm not following." Cat Noir said confused. "I have to make a call, cover me!" Ladybug said as she opens her Bug-Phone in her yo-yo. "That I can do." Cat Noir jumps onto the field, sword fighting with his staff against Furious Fu, who parries with his cane. "The kitten can meow all he wants, but he will never roar like a tiger!" Furious Fu shouted as Ladybug finishes her call.
"Lucky Charm!" Ladybug shouted sending her yo-yo in the air, and this time, she receives bolt cutters, then looks around for what to do. She notices Cat Noir's ring, some footballs in a locked cage, her yo-yo, and the bolt cutters. "Perfect!" She shouted as Furious Fu notices Ladybug going to the cage. "What is she up to?" Furious Fu kicks Cat Noir away, plants his staff on the ground, then writes 视力 (Shìlì) with his paintbrush. "Vision!" He then sees the items Ladybug intends to use. "Oh, so this is how you do things. Won't work, though!" He starts heading for Ladybug, but Cat Noir stops Furious Fu by jumping on him from behind. "We're not done yet!"
Ladybug uses the cutters to break a lock, then grabs a ball from the cage, and Cat Noir uses his power. "Cataclysm!" He shouted making his ring charge with destructive energy as Ladybug reacted to him. "No!" Furious Fu grabs Cat Noir, takes his activated hand, and threatens to cataclysm him with it. "You're going to turn yourself into cat food." Ladybug sends her yo-yo at Furious Fu. "Take this!" Furious Fu catches the string between his teeth. "And that." Furious Fu catches Ladybug, holding her up by one arm. With her other arm, she puts the Football between her legs and then wedges it between Cat Noir's activated cataclysm and his chest. "There! Voila! We win!"
"Win? You foolish beetle, we're just stuck now! I can't defeat you but you can't defeat me either!" Furious Fu stated but Ladybug was looking confidently. "Oh but my plan was never to defeat you myself." She said to his confusion. "Sorry, I need to borrow that." Marianne takes the paintbrush off Furious Fu's ear and breaks it, freeing the akuma. "There. Exactly like you said on the phone, Ladybug." She said as Furious Fu drops both Ladybug and Cat Noir as he is deakumatized. "Thank you Marianne, that was perfect." Ladybug said.
She then opens her yo-yo. "No more evil doing for you little akuma." Ladybug then spins it around. "Time to de-evilize!" She catches the akuma with her yo-yo. "Gotcha!" She opens it and releases the purified butterfly. "Bye bye, little butterfly!" She throws the bolt cutters into the air. "Miraculous Ladybug!" She shouted as the Lucky Charm turned into magical ladybugs making the storm clear, and Su-Han is unfrozen. Ladybug, Cat Noir and Marianne then were about bump fists, but see Cat Noir's cataclysm was still active. "Whoops, sorry! Just a sec." He bends down to use it on a ball. "Pound it!"
Ladybug takes a magical charm out of her yo-yo and hands it to Fu. "Here, carry this with you at all times. It will protect you from future attacks." She said to Fu. "And it will remind me of you everyday. Thank you, Lady Beetle and... Cat Man." Fu said as Ladybug laughs. "Eh... Close enough." Cat spoke. Su-Han then confronts Fu, and speaks awkwardly but sincerely. "I'm terribly sorry. Forgive me Whiny- uh Sir. I- I mistook you for someone who has been long gone." Back at Shadow Moth's lair. Gabriel fights back and tries to expel Dark Moth's possession. "Release!" He shouted breaking free. "That was too close." He sighed. "Be more careful with that box, Guardian…" Gabriel said. "I would've succeeded too if it weren't that meddling Ladybug! But I'll get you, my pretty! And your little Cat too!" Dark Moth shouted as the observatory window closes. (Wizard of Oz reference.)
Scene changes to the Gare du Nord where Marinette speaks with Wang Fu and Marianne. "The cat and the red beetle were incredible! Paris is always filled with good people ready to devote themselves for the greater good. Like you, Marinette." Fu smiled. "You should really thank Marianne, you know. From what I heard, she was the true superhero of the day." Marinette replied.
Cue Ladybug Miraculous scene transition as the scene changes to Marinette's room where Su-Han and Marinette talk about what happened.
"Involving Marianne in the fight - a human without powers was against the precepts too." Su-Han spoke as Marinette looks down, saddened. "This has proven two things: the first thing is that you have the audacity to invent your own rules, and, as crazy as it may seem, somehow they all work." Marinette looks surprised. "The second thing is that your natural instincts tell you who you can trust - an essential quality for a guardian. Whiny Chicken- uh, sorry.. Master Fu may not have made such a bad choice after all." He continued as Marinette smiles. "The Miracle Box is the mother of all boxes. It's the very first one that was created, and the one that holds the most powerful magic jewels. I cannot imagine what would happen if it were to fall into the wrong hands. But I am going to trust you." He hands Marinette the box, she takes it happily. "I will keep watching you from a distance." He spoke.
"Just like how PJ did, before he became Paint Panda." Marinette spoke. "What?" Su-Han asked. "He knew I was Ladybug, but I trust him. He lived in a ginormous Treehouse, and he made his own Kwami, Inky and his own Miraculous to be Paint Panda to help us." Marinette explained. "He wanted to help us beat Hawk Moth, but he got our friend, making him split himself from the darkness of his heart and it manifested itself into Dark Mills. To prevent himself from having to fight me and Cat Noir again, he had to leave Paris with Inky after the Akuma Wars." She about their friend.
Su-Han nodded. "I suppose he made the right choice… The world of heroes and Miraculous holders is indeed full of twists and turns. I shall leave you with your box, but remember, if you ever fail, I will come for it." He said as he looked around the room. "But first, I shall learn of this modern world. There is much I need to understand about this era to ensure the safety of the Miraculouses." He said before leaving. "If you ever see PJ and Inky, tell them we said "hi"." Tikki said. "I will." He replied. "How will make the most of my time here in Paris to get accustomed to modern life. How can I be a good guardian if I don't try to understand the world around me?" Su-Han asked.
"I have something for you. I think you're gonna need these." Marinette holds up a new pair of shoes, causing Su-Han to look down at his old and worn out pair. Marinette and Su-Han share a laugh.
