Miles Tails Prower was flying his plane, The Tornado, at the sky. He was carrying the seven emeralds with him as well. He still felt bad that he didn't told the Autobots what they are. The only person he told them about was Agent Fowler. However, he knew that he and Sonic will tell their friends sooner or later. However, while he was flying, something hit his plane.
"ACK!" The two-tailed fox shouted, looking around and saw the fire on his left wing. Worse than that, while trying to control the fallen plane, all the emeralds fell out and scattered from the plane. "The emeralds!" That was when he crashed onto the ground... But he wasn't the only one. Once he got out of his plane, he saw a huge ship that crashed as well.
"Wow... That is an awesome ship." Tails admired. Before he could get close to the unknown ship, he heard some noise. Once he turned around, he saw the vehicons approached and transformed in front of him. "Oh crap..." Tails gulped. The cons aimed their blasters at the two-tailed fox. However, before anything could happen to Tails, a energon blast shot one of the cons. All of them turned around and saw a bot coming out of his ship.
"If you're trying to ruin my day… you're gonna have to try harder..."
Yesterday...
It's been three week since the Scraplet infestation. Sonic the Hedgehog was waiting for his two-tailed buddy to come back, while Bulkhead and Miko were doing chores in the Autobot Base. Cliffjumper and Arcee saw how the blue hedgehog was pacing back and forth.
"You okay, Blue?" Cliffjumper asked in concerned.
"Yeah..." Sonic admitted. "I'm just waiting for Tails. He hasn't came back yet. He's doing something in his new lab and I'm tired of waiting."
"I'm sure your sidekick is fine, Sonic." Arcee assured him.
"I know... By the way, Tails is more than just a 'sidekick'." Sonic reminded them.
"Optimus," Ratchet said from the Cybertronian computer System, with Optimus approaching and Bumblebee standing next to Cliff and 'Cee, "I'm receiving a signal on a restrictive band. It appears to be coming from a starship inside this solar system." He checks the affiliation of the starship on the computer. "It's an Autobot identification beacon."
"So there are other bots out there?" Jack asked.
"Wow." Sonic said. "But I thought the six of you were the only ones left."
"The masses scattered to the galaxies when cybertron finally went dark." Cliffjumper explained.
"But Cons have been known to bait traps with false beacons." Arcee added.
"Unknown vessel, this is Autobot outpost Omega one. Identify yourself." Optimus said, contacting the Autobot ship.
"I've had warmer welcomes from Decepticon combat brigades." said a voice from the ship's pilot which Bulkhead recognized.
"Wheeljack?!"Bulkhead said with disbelief. "You old Con crusher! What are you doing all the way out here?"
"Bulkhead?" Wheeljack asked. "That you? What's with all the security?"
"The rock we're on is crawling with 'Cons." Bulkhead explained. "How soon can you get here and even the odds?"
"Sometime tomorrow If I put metal to the pedal." Wheeljack answered.
"Another bot's coming here," Miko said, How cool is that!"
"Wheeljack, I know of him by reputation only." Optimus said, turning to Bulkhead. "Can you verify his voiceprint?"
"He is 1,000% the real deal, Optimus." Bulkhead told the prime.
"We will send landing coordinates, Wheeljack." Optimus told Bulkhead's friend. "Safe journey."
"See you soon, buddy." Bulkhead told Wheeljack "I'll make sure you get a proper welcome."
Once communications went off, Arcee looked at Bulk. "So, who's the boyfriend?" She teased.
"That's what I want to know." Sonic stated, having a smirk on his face.
Bulkhead chuckled. "Me and Jackie go way back. We were part of the same war unit, The Wreckers." he explained pounding his fists together. "Which means the 'Cons are gonna wish he never found us."
At the Decepticon Warship...
Soundwave was intercepting the whole transmission. "A war hero, hm?" Starscream said. "We haven't much time. Makeshift." In the shadows stood a mysterious Decepticon. Soundwave projected a hologram of Wheeljack. Makeshift started transforming. "I too know how to make a proper welcome." Starscream said.
Today at the Autobot Base...
"Wheeljack's ship is approaching the landing zone." Arcee said, looking at the radar.
"So is Tails." Cliff said, who was also looking at the radar.
"That's great! Tails is coming back and we got a new bot coming our way!" Sonic smiled.
"You think he's here to visit?" Raf asked.
"Maybe he'll stay!" Miko said before thinking of something, "Hmm. Have to find his own human, though."
Sonic chuckled before looking at the 15-year old girl. "Yeah, I'm sure Ratchet would be okay of another human coming into the base."
The medic/scientist only rolled his optics after hearing what the blue hedgehog said. He then prepares the ground-bridge. "It's cycling up now." The controls started to short circuit until he had to hit it. The system went back online. "Blasted Scraplets. The equipment hasn't been the same since the infestation."
"So, Wheeljack's gonna land halfway around the world and then you'll bridge him here?" Jack asked.
Optimus walked towards Jack, who was at the stairs. "We can't risk revealing the location of our Base. Just in case the Decepticons are tracking Wheeljack's ship." Optimus said.
Miko walked near bulkhead, "Dude, I've never seen you so stoked!"
"Oh, you're gonna love Wheeljack," Bulkhead told her, "We were like brothers. And tonight we are gonna party!"
"Sweet!" Miko said.
Sonic smiled. "Parties are awesome!"
Cliffjumper smiled sadly. "Sparkblaster and I were like brothers too..." Arcee gave him a pat on his shoulder.
All the happiness ended when an alarm was set off. Arcee and Cliffjumper checked the radar. "Bogeys. Closing on Wheeljack's position." Arcee said.
"They're closing on Tails too." Cliffjumper added.
"Dang it!" Sonic shouted.
"Con scum!" Bulkhead said angrily.
In the skies above Jasper
The Jackhammer and The Tornado was flying over the Egyptian desert as six jet Vehicons started firing at the ship, a few moments later one of the Vehicons's lasers hit the starship, causing the jackhammer and The Tornado to crash into the sand of the desert.
The Vehicons land and a prepared to check out the site, aiming their blasters at the two-tailed fox who got out hsi plane, while one of them went towards the big ship. When suddenly the one approaching got shot in the chest. The other Vehicons aimed their guns at the wrecker. Tails turned around and saw who it was.
"If your trying to ruin my day, you're gonna have to try harder." Wheeljack said, carrying his swords from his back and putting on his battle mask.
The Vehicons started shooting at him as he ran towards his left, he soon stopped and jumped into the air, pounding the Vehicon in the middle, he then grabbed one and threw him, kicked one behind him in the face, a Vehicon tried to attack him, when he leaped backwards before jumping behind the Vehicon and ripped his arm off before kicking him away, he slapped the Vehicon's arm at another Vehicon a few times before kicking him away, one Vehicon was remaining.
"You cons have gone soft on me," Wheeljack told him, before taking katanas out from his back, charges at him, avoiding the blaster fire, reached him with the Vehicon avoiding the blades.
Tails was watching the whole thing, impressed. That was when he remembered about one of the Vehicons aiming his blaster at him. Before he could, however, Tails was saved by Wheeljack when he stabbed the vehicon's spark with his sword.
The white bot then looked at the two-tailed fox. "The name's Wheeljack."
"T-Tails." The two-tailed fox said.
However, their introductions went short when more of the cons came. Wheeljack saw this and went to his fighting position. "You might want to stand back." He advised. However, the two-tailed fox loaded his arm cannon pointed towards the decepticons.
"Don't worry, sir, I can handle myself." Tails said, proving his point by shooting three energy balls at three vehicons.
"Not bad, kid." Wheeljack said, smiling.
The two then engaged a battle against the vehicons.
Decepticon Warship
Starscream and Soundwave were watching the battle between the Vehicons and Wheeljack, aided by Tails. The seeker stared at the two-tailed fox, interested of the weapon he was using for combat. Deciding to save that for another day, he turned to the silent spymaster. "Swiftly. Before the Autobots arrive."
Autobot Base
Bulkhead, Cliffjumper, Bumblebee, Sonic and Arcee waited in front of the Ground Bridge chamber. "Open the Bridge, Ratchet. We're missing all the action!" Cliffjumper shouted.
The medic activated the Bridge, "I'll prepare sickbay."
"Who for? The Decepticons?" Bulkhead chuckled. "This is Wheeljack we're talking about." The four Autobots and the blue hedgehog ran through the vortex.
The Autobots and Sonic arrive in the Egyptian Desert, where Wheeljack and Tails was as they exited the portal. They activated their blasters and aimed them around, in case they saw any Vehicons still functioning. Sonic also looked around, just in case. Bulkhead then saw Wheeljack stab the vehicon he was fighting through the spark chamber with one of his katanas, causing the vehicon to fall on his stomach as he died.
"I taught him that." Bulk chuckled.
"Sure you did." Sonic said, jokingly.
Wheeljack had Tails on his shoulder walked towards them. "What took you guys so long?" Tails questioned them. "You guys have a ground-bridge, and Sonic, you're known as the fastest thing alive."
"Ratchet's still tinkering a few things back there, buddy." the blue hedgehog answered.
"Ever think might I need a hand here?" Wheeljack said, putting his katanas away.
"What, and spoil the show?" Bulkhead asked him, chuckling.
Arcee noticed a Vehicon getting on his knees, "You miss one".
Wheeljack then gunned down the con as he walked up towards them. He also let the two-tailed fox jump off his shoulder. "If this is all you got. The planet's in bigger trouble then I thought."
Bulkhead just ran up to him hugged him. "Wheeljack! It really has been a long time." He picked him off the ground.
Wheeljack laughs as his friend hugged him tightly, "What's to finish, you old wrecking ball?"
Back in the Autobot Base
The four Autobots, Sonic, Tails, and Wheeljack made it back just fine, but when Ratchet shut it down, it short circuited again. This time, the Ground Bridge was down for a while.
"Jackie, come here. Meet my other best buddy, Miko," Bulkhead said, showing Miko to Wheeljack. "She can wreck with the best of us."
"Hiya," Miko said from the stairs, waving at Wheeljack.
Wheeljack approached the human, "You keeping Bulkhead out of trouble?"
"I try, but trouble find us anyway," she answered.
"We're gonna get along just fine." Wheeljack said. He then turned to see the blue hedgehog and the two-tailed fox. "So the rumors were true... You two must be the 'aliens' I've heard about."
Sonic chuckled while Tails had a confused face. "You heard of us?" the two-tailed fox asked.
"I've picked up some chatter about a blue hedgehog and a yellow fox on this planet when I was at space... Turns out, they weren't lying." He answered.
"Well, you'll be happy to know that Tails and I singly-handled some vehicons and the silent con himself." Sonic smirked.
Wheeljack smiled, impressed. "You two and I will get along great." He then turns around and looks at Optimus. "Optimus Prime, it's a privilege."
"Likewise, soldier." Optimus said. "What have you to report from your long journey?"
"Been bouncing from rock to rock. Searching for sighs of friend or foe. Now I find both."
"We are few, but strong. We had suffered great losses," Optimus said, referring to Prowl's death and the Space Bridge's destruction. He then looked at Jack, Raf, Miko, Sonic, and Tails. "But we have grown and we would relish welcoming a new member into our fold."
"I would be honored."
"Then let's get this party started." Bulkhead said, pounding Wheeljack's back with his hand. The two wreckers then did a chest bump.
"Oh joy..." Ratchet said, knowing that these two will cause more damage in the base.
Decepticon Warship
"The moment Makeshift passed through their Ground Bridge we've lost his tracking signal. The Autobot Base is no doubt heavily shielded to prevent us from locating it." Starscream said to Soundwave. "No matter."
They entered the brig. "I have complete faith over Makeshift." And in the brig was the real Wheeljack. Shackled up by his wrist. One Vehicon guard held his swords. "Our inside man is already inside."
"Tell Megatron he's fragged in the head if he thinks that Bulkhead won't sniff out an impostor." Wheeljack said.
Starscream growled in annoyance. "Haven't you heard? I lead the Decepticons now."
"You? Ha!"
That hit Starscream's button. He was about to pierce his spark chamber, but was held back by Soundwave. "Yes, you're right, Soundwave. He maybe yet of use. Makeshift is very good at keeping up with appearances. He needs only to fool your friends long enough to open their Ground Bridge from within." Wheeljack started believing him as he lowers his head down. "So that I can finally learn the location of the Autobot Base and send in my strike battalion to stain it's floor with the spilled Energon of Optimus Prime."
Soundwave then showed the pictures of Tails with his arm cannon and Dark Sonic to the seeker, who smiled darkly.
"And we might learn more about the fox and hedgehog's power, skill, and ability so we can have the advantage we need to destroy them."
Autobot Base
Miko was playing her electric Guitar as Bulkhead and 'Wheeljack' threw a large metal ball made from Cybertronian metal at each other, "Come on, Jackie. Show me what you got."
'Wheeljack' threw the ball at Bulkhead who caught the ball as he slid backwards a little. He laughed "Nice lob." He threw it back at 'Wheeljack', who caught it and threw it back at Bulkhead.
Sonic, Tails, Jack, Raf, Arcee, and Cliffjumper stood by and watched them. "What's that about?" Sonic asked Cliffjumper.
"It's called lobbing, Sonic." Cliff said.
"The most favorite pass time on Cybertron. Especially among warrior-class." Arcee added.
Miko looks at Raf as she turns around as she continues to play her guitar, "Come on, Raf! Show us some moves!"
"Oh, all right," Raf said getting up and begins to do the dance called 'the robot' and Bumblebee saw this dance with interest.
"Of course, the Robot." Jack said, laughing.
Tails smiled, adding some music in his 'Miles Electric' and starting dancing as well. Sonic got into it too, starting break-dancing. Arcee and Cliffjumper smiled, watching everyone dance.
Ratchet just looked at everyone, while he was working. "Ugh."
"Were is Optimus?" Jack noticed he was in the Base.
"He's out for a drive." Cliffjumper said.
"Huh?" the 16 year-old asked.
"Primes don't party." Arcee explained.
"Coming at you." Bulkhead shouted to Wheeljack. He threw the ball at him but it bounce of Wheeljack's hands and busted the Ground Bridge controls.
"You know I am attempting to perform sensitive calibrations here!" Ratchet yelled.
"Sorry, doc." Wheeljack picked up the ball. "Guess we're a little charged up." He eyed the Ground Bridge chamber. "You built this Bridge from scratch, huh?"
"I did." Ratchet answered.
"That's quite a feat of engineering."
"Yes it is."
"Something wrong with it?"
"I didn't care for the way it sounded on this last jump. I put in shutdown.
"What if you need to use it?"
"Oh I can't disrupt the de-fragged process without causing unknowing damage."
"So, uh, how long will the de-frag take?"
"A few hours. Maybe longer."
"Huh." Wheeljack returned to the lobbing.
Decepticon Warship
In the bridge, Starscream was losing his patience. "Makeshift still hasn't open their Ground Bridge or otherwise transmitted their coordinates. His disguise may be flawless, but he won't fool the Autobots forever."
Autobot Base
Bulkhead was telling everyone the tales of the past. "So there we were. No communications. Low on Energon. Surrounded by Decepticons. And what wheeljack do?" He then looked at his buddy. "Tell them, Jackie."
"What I do best."
"He fires his last missile smack into the primary heat exchange." Bulkhead said.
"Yeah. Seemed like a good idea at the time."
"The joint went supernova!" Bulkhead said.
"Wow!" Sonic and Tails said, amazed.
"Awesome." Miko said.
"I'm still picking shrapnel out of my backside." Bulkhead said.
"I'm not surprise. Giving the size of your backside." Cliffjumper said. Bumblebee and Arcee laughed.
There it is, Jackie's signature, one grenade, one shot," Bulkhead said, he then notices that 'Wheeljack' wasn't acting like he usually does. "Hey, you all right?"
"What?" 'Wheeljack' asked him, you don't seem like yourself," bulkhead explained
"Well, what do you mean?" He asked the wrecker.
"I don't know. You seem quiet," Bulkhead explained.
"Aw, I've been stuck in a can too long. I should go topside before I get stir-crazy," 'Wheeljack said.
"I have patrol in the morning," Bulkhead told him. "You can come with."
"Let's go now," 'Wheeljack said.
"And breakup the party?" Bulkhead asked him, "Come on! The gang's loving you! You got to tell them about the battle of Darkmount pass!"
"You tell them," 'Wheeljack' said, "You're better at it. How about if Miko, Sonic, and Tails here shows me the rest of your base?"
"Well, yeah, sure, Jackie. Hey, go ahead," Bulkhead told him.
"Tour starts now," Miko said standing off. "Do you play any instruments? Can you fly? Have you thrashed more Decepticons than Bulkhead?" She asked as she, Sonic, and Tails went to show 'Wheeljack' the rest of the base.
As soon as they were out of site Arcee said, "You guys alright?" Bulkhead and Wheeljack turned around to her.
"Yeah just out of sorts I guess." Bulkhead said.
"You're not jealous, are you?" Cliffjumper asked jokingly.
"That Miko is making a new friend?" Something's not right about Wheeljack."
Really?" Cliffjumper said. "He's traveled galaxies. You haven't seen him in centuries. He could just be rocket lagged or... Well Autobots do change."
"Not Jackie."
Back on the Nemesis, a Vehicon approaches the imprisoned Wheeljack and points his gun at his mouth, "You're not going anywhere, Autobot." The Vehicon took the gun from his mouth.
Wheeljack smiles as the Vehicon begins to walk away when Wheeljack grabbed the Vehicon's neck with his feet and begins making the Vehicon's gun fire, in all different directions in order to get free from his bonds, "Blah, Blah, Blah." Soon the Vehicon's gun fires at the computer that was holding his bonds and he was set free from the bonds.
Back in the Autobot Base, Miko, Sonic, and Tails were showing 'Wheeljack' the rest of the base.
"So that's pretty much it." Sonic said.
"Energon stockpile, power generator, armory." Tails summarized.
"Everything you need to blow the joint sky high." Miko added.
"Where's this bunker located exactly?" 'Wheeljack asked her.
"If I told you, I'd have to rip out your Spark Chamber," Miko said, jokingly. "Kidding! Just outside Jasper, Nevada, though I don't expect that to mean too much to you."
"Can't say it does. Is there any other way out here besides Bridging?"
"Why? You not ready on leaving are you?" Sonic asked.
"Come on, I'll show you." Miko said, walking past him. Impostor Wheeljack followed her, along with Sonic and Tails. However, when the impostor Wheeljack looked back at Sonic and Tails, he then remembered something.
"Miko, you go on ahead." the white bot said. "I need to ask these two about something."
"Umm... Okay!" Miko said, although she was unsure for a minute and went back to the main room.
Wheeljack then turned around to look at the blue hedgehog and the yellow two-tailed fox. "I have to ask... How did you two got to Earth?" Wheeljack asked, secretly pressing a button on his recorder.
"Well, we had an accident back on our dimension." Sonic answered. "Thanks to Eggman..."
"Eggman?" Wheeljack asked. "Who's he?"
"Dr. Eggman is my arch-nemesis and genius who can create powerful robots. He's the reason why we're in this dimension."
"And the emeralds got sent here along with us because of him." Tails added.
"Chaos emeralds?" The impostor Wheeljack had a questioned look on his face. "What are those?"
Sonic and Tails looked at each other. They both remembered that Cliffjumper asked about the Chaos emeralds before when the seven jewels were inside of him while he transformed. However, while they did told Fowler about the emeralds, they'll tell them about too, once Optimus comes back. Suddenly, Tails remembered that he lost the Chaos emeralds during the flight, thanks to the cons. Anyway, before they could even talk, Miko got their attention.
"Sonic, Tails, Wheeljack, com on!" She called. "Bulk is about to tell the story!"
The two chuckled and got ahead, while the impostor wheeljack turned off his recorder and followed him, while hiding his recorder.
Inside the main ops center, Ratchet was still busy working on the ground bridge terminal. The monitor showed that the defrag program was nearly complete and only required a few more minutes.
"Almost there," noted Ratchet as he continued typing.
Meanwhile, Bulkhead, Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, and Arcee were discussing about Wheeljack's strange behavior. Sonic and Tails just walked into their conversation.
"Look I know Wheeljack better than anyone" Bulkhead said.
"Hey,"
Everyone turned their heads to the main corridor to see Wheeljack strolling out at a leisure pace. "What are you guys talking about?"
"Oh nothing," resumed Bulkhead. "I was just telling the guys about you and me, and the Battle of Dark Mount Pass."
"That's a heck of a story." Wheeljack stated.
"Uh huh, tell it!" Bulkhead narrowed his optics.
"Blah, blah, blah talk, talk, talk… how about we tell more stories after we go off-roading or something?" offered Miko.
The green wrecker held up his large servo in a 'be quiet' matter. "Miko, stay out of this!"
"Woah, Bulkhead!" Cliffjumper said.
"Easy, Bulk." Arcee scolded him.
Sonic and Tails watched on from their place on the platform, next to the railing. Both were shocked and confused of what was developing here, Sonic more so than Tails.
"I'm not sure that I…"
"Tell it!" Bulkhead interjected.
Wheeljack glared at the green Autobot for a moment. Everyone in the base was silent. It wasn't but a few seconds that the white Wrecker finally broke the silence. "Fine, you want to live in the past, Bulkhead, fine," Everyone began to listen to Wheeljack. "The Wreckers were trapped between the Decepticon patrols and the smouldering pits. The 'Cons were vicious, barring down on us with everything they had. Me and Bulkhead engaged the enemy and left them for scrap, and then I made us a way out by using their backsides as stepping stones to cross the molten metal. Isn't that how it happened?"
"Yeah that's exactly how it happened," Bulkhead replied, prompting Wheeljack to grin. "Except for one little thing," Wheeljack's grin immediately disappeared as his blue optics opened wide, "I wasn't there".
Suddenly, everyone slightly gasped, stunned from this realization. Tails looked on with narrowed eyes. He looked at his Miles Electric and could see now that Wheeljack was gritting his teeth in anger. From that moment forward, the two-tailed fox knew for certain that this wasn't Wheeljack, but instead an impostor.
"I had already left the Wreckers to join Optimus. But you wouldn't know that if you accessed Wheeljack's public service record" Bulkhead added, getting angrier by the second.
Wheeljack remained silent, contemplating on another possible way out of this predicament. However, there was no way, he was compromised. Wheeljack… or now Makeshift dashed for the human area and snatched up the nearest people, which in this case was Tails.
"AHH!" Tails screamed in fear after being grabbed by the impostor Wheeljack.
The impostor held Tails tightly but not tight enough to squish him.
"Tails!" Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Sonic cried.
Makeshift pushed Ratchet away from the ground bridge terminal, still holding Tails in his large metal grip. Jack, Miko, and Raf were shocked seeing this. The rest of the autobots aimed their weapons at the decepticon.
"Stand back or I'll squeeze him into pulp." Makeshift threatened in a cold, slightly raspy tone.
Immediately, Sonic starts spin-dashing in place, charging his light energy to do his powerful technique, 'Light Speed Attack'. The autobots and the kids saw this and they were amazed of the hedgehog's power. After powering up, he aimed himself at Makeshift's face, ready to pummel his head, but the decepticon must have knew what he was doing, because he aimed his gun at the blue hedgehog.
"One wrong move, and the furball gets it!" Makeshift said, glaring at the hedgehog.
Despite that Sonic backed down, he still stood his ground, having his energy storing up. "You hurt one hair on his head..." Sonic threatening the decepticon, who still had Tails in his grasp.
"Let me go!" The two-tailed fox demanded but was ignored.
"Decepticon coward, let the boy go and face me!" Bulkhead roared, angrier than he has been in a long time.
"Oh, don't fret… plenty of fighting to come" Makeshift sneered evilly.
"Is there a real Wheeljack?" Jack asked, locking eyes on Makeshift.
"Oh indeed, and I expect that Lord Starscream is making sport of him" rasped Makeshift.
The Nemesis
The Decepticon warship leisurely glided through the inky blackness of night and huge accumulations of clouds. On the flight deck, Starscream and Soundwave stood before an entire armada of Eradicons, ready to deploy at any minute. The silver seeker paces back and forth, his patience running thinner by the second.
"Are you certain we are at the coordinates that you supplied to Makeshift?" inquired Starscream.
Soundwave simply nodded his helm.
"Then what is taking him?!" Starscream shouted.
"Maybe they gave your boy a hero's welcome," A voice called out. Starscream turned around to see Wheeljack walking towards him, anger evident on his features. "He got the warm and fuzzies and decided to switch sides" The experienced soldier deployed his face mask.
Though Starscream was shocked that Wheeljack had somehow managed to escape, he still kept his calm, superior demeanour. "Do you not see that you are vastly outnumbered?" Starscream mocked, motioning towards the squadron of drones behind him.
"I see fellows who might vastly enjoy watching me pound some dents into you." Wheeljack countered, cracking his metallic knuckles together while doing so.
Starscream gritted his teeth in anger. "Ugh… destroy him!"
The front line of the Eradicons immediately opened fire on Wheeljack. The white Wrecker unsheathed the two katana blades off his back and crossed them to make an X in front of him. Without hesitation, Wheeljack charged forward while deflecting the Energon blasts fired at him. Some of the deflected projectiles went back and off-lined a few drones in the process.
Wheeljack sprung forward, thus starting the beat-down.
Autobot Outpost
Inside the main ops center, everyone still stood by as Makeshift typed one handed on the groundbridge terminal. The others wouldn't dare engage out of fear of putting Tails's life in jeopardy. The Wheeljack doppelganger smirked as the computer bleeped and showed that the defrag process was complete.
"About time," Makeshift commented before he pulled down the lever.
The rings in the groundbridge tunnel brightened until a swirling greenish-blue portal opened at the far end.
"Mwahahaha," Makeshift laughed maniacally. "Let's get this party started!"
Tails continued to struggle against the doppelganger's grip. Realizing that he wouldn't be able to overpower him, he decided to take on another approach. The two-tailed fox secretly activated his arm cannon, turned around and aimed his blaster at the Con's face. He then shot his face with a electric energy spear from his arm-cannon. This burned the con's face.
"AAGGGGHHHHH!" The Decepticon intruder instantly dropped Tails and held his burning face.
Sonic saw his chance and resume his spin-dashing in place, charging the rest of his power up to do his 'Light Speed Attack'.
"Ready?" Sonic said, readying himself before sprinting towards the decepticon. "GO!" The blue hedgehog charged at the decepticon and started hitting him in different ways. He bashed Makeshift's face, head, and his body multiple times that the Autobots and the kids were amazed. Tails was used to this, but he did had a smile on his face.
However, despite his burnt face, Makeshift blocked the next attack that Sonic was about to pull. Luckily, the blue hedgehog landed on the ground and started running around Makeshift, attempting to confuse the decepticon. Unfortunately, Makeshift stomped the ground, causing a earthquake for Sonic, who lost his balance. Makeshift then kicked the blue hedgehog so hard that Sonic was at the air, about to hit the wall. Luckily, Tails flew to the air and grabbed Sonic before he could hit the wall.
"Wow! Thanks buddy!" The blue hedgehog said, landing on the ground.
"No problem!" Tails said, also landing on the ground and aiming his arm-cannon at the decepticon shifter. The doppelganger quickly regained his bearings as he shook off the hit. He returned to his feet and stood in front of the groundbridge entrance, a smug smile present on his face that was leaking Energon.
"You little freaks! It doesn't matter what you do, you're all doomed!" boasted Makeshift.
"I wouldn't say that" Another voice called out.
The copycat barely had time to respond as a white Cybertronian jumped out of the swirling portal and slammed both feet into his back while in mid-air. The forceful kick sent Makeshift colliding into the side of the concrete platform wall.
The Autobots, the kids, and the mobians were shocked and relief to see Wheeljack, the real Wheeljack. The two-tailed fox scanned the other bot with his Miles Electric, checking the results. After the process was finish, Tails knew that this was the Real Wheeljack.
He held both katana swords in both servos as he stepped forward. The infamous Wrecker turned to Ratchet who was again standing by the groundbridge controls.
"I'd shut that hole before the stink comes through" Wheeljack recommended.
The Nemesis
Starscream's red optics fluttered opened as he slowly got to his hands and knees. He looked around him to see nearly half of his armada was off-lined. Some were killed by either Energon blasts or were cut to pieces by Wheeljack. His crimson optics then instantly caught sight of the turquoise portal floating before them.
With Energon leaking from his mouth, Starscream barked, "Into the groundbridge now!"
The remaining Eradicon squadron rushed forward; however, they were too late as the swirling vortex disappeared out of sight. The darkness of night returned over the Nemesis. Starscream's optics narrowed as his structure shook in rage.
"NOOOO!" He screamed.
Autobot Outpost
In the central command of the Autobot base, the Autobots, the kids and Team Sonic stepped back as the real Wheeljack and the Wheeljack copy circled each other, both with their katana blades held in their grips. Bulkhead deployed his mace again and was about to intervene before one of the Wheeljack's held out its arm.
"Ugly is mine" Wheeljack stated.
After that, the two identical Cybertronians engaged in a sword fight. The Autobots, the kids and Team Sonic watch on as the two doppelgangers duked it out, swords slashing against swords, sparks being thrown everywhere.
"Which one's the real Wheeljack?" Raf asked, fixing his glasses.
Miko points around till she realized that she lost track. "Uh, I lost track!"
Tails just simply smiled. "I didn't."
Back to the fight, the two Wheeljack's went at each other hard. Both were on the offense and defense, engaging and blocking one another's attack. But after a few swift swords slash combos and a kick to the abdomen, one of the Wheeljack's collapsed to the ground with one standing above him with his blade at his throat. He had been defeated.
Tails smiled as he pointed the real deal and the winner. "That's the real Wheeljack."
"That's my Jacky." Bulkhead smiled, turning towards Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Arcee.
Wheeljack sheathed his katana blades while his face guard went back, revealing his smooth and scarred face. The white Autobot turned towards Ratchet. "You, hit the switch. It's time to take out the trash".
While Ratchet went back to the terminal to reopen the bridge, Sonic and Tails came forward and gazed back up to Wheeljack.
"You mind if we do the honours?"
Wheeljack smirked. "Go for it… uh… whatever you two are."
Sonic smiled as he and Tails started running around the defeated Wheeljack shifter, making a tornado around it. Wheeljack's optics went wide as he saw two 'aliens' started attacking and running like this. He then turned to Bulkhead. "You've got some explaining to do" He said.
"Y-yeah, I know… and we'll be sure to fill you in later" replied a sheepish Bulkhead.
After the speed attacks, Makeshift was too dizzy to fight anymore. He then fell into the ground.
"Ready to give the decepticons a warming welcome, buddy?" Sonic smirked when he asked.
Tails smiled, holding his very own cluster bomb. "You know I am!" The two-tailed fox then turned around to see Bulkhead and Cliffjumper. "Want to take out the trash?"
The two bots smirked at each other before nodding their hands at Tails.
The Nemesis
Starscream again paced side-to-side, enraged by his plans failure of attacking the Autobot base. Soundwave and the Eradicons watched him mutter incoherently to himself as he seethed. Suddenly, their attention was grabbed by the familiar sound of a groundbridge portal. They looked forward to see a turquoise vortex swirling before them once more.
Starscream's optics widened as shock and disbelief were plastered on his facial features. Instantly, his expression then grew into impatience and anger.
"What are you waiting for?! Go!" Starscream yelled, pointing to the portal.
The Eradicon squadron ran forward. The five in front jumped into the vortex and sprinted forward. But mid-way into the blue portal, the form of Wheeljack-Makeshift was hurled towards them. The Decepticon drones immediately changed direction and retreated. Nevertheless, Makeshift collided with them, thus knocking them out of the groundbridge portal.
Starscream's optics widened out of fear as Makeshift careened towards him. The silver seeker didn't have time to move before the Wheeljack doppelganger smashed into him. To add insult to injury for the 'Cons, the Autobot groundbridge again closed out of existence before any other 'Con could go through.
Muttering a string of Cybertronian curse words, Starscream pushed Makeshift's limp body off of him as he slowly got back to his feet.
"Please tell me you at least learn the location of their base" Starscream hissed; glaring at the Makeshift's injured form.
The Wheeljack look-alike wiped off some Energon trailing from his mouth as he regained his balance. "Indeed, Lord Starscream. And I have a recorder of what the two 'aliens' have said about their arrival to Earth and much more." He handed Starscream the recorder. "As for the base, It is in a hidden bunker, just outside of Jas…"
Makeshift trailed off as the sounds of beeping caught his and Starscream's attention. Starscream turned his optics to the source of the beeping, a cylinder device strapped to Makeshift's waist. The device itself was blinking red and the beeping was becoming increasing by each passing second.
The cowardly seeker quickly knew from experience what that was: a bomb... And a cluster bomb next to it!
"Back! Back! Back!" Starscream turned on heel and ran forward, pushing through the crowd of Eradicons. After getting a good distance, he transformed into his jet mode and soared into the sky.
At first, Makeshift was confused by this. When the gears finally clicked in his mind, his optics widened as a dreadful mien grew on his face "Uh oh".
Without warning, an explosion ripped across the flight deck as bluish-white conflagration immediately off-lined Makeshift and the other Eradicons in less than a blink of an eye.
Above the Nemesis, Starscream and Soundwave continued to fly away from the destruction in their alt modes.
"Makeshift, you fool!" Starscream shouted.
Autobot Outpost, a week later
Inside the mesa that was the Autobot's base of operations, the two members of Team Sonic, the human children, and Bumblebee were dancing to the rock music Miko had put on, celebrating their recent victory over the Wheeljack doppelganger. Arcee, meanwhile, stood by with her arms crossed over her chassis and a smirk gracing her lips.
Meanwhile, Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Bulkhead, Cliffjumper and Wheeljack stood at the other end of the room. Optimus had been debriefed on the situation that transpired while he was away. In doing so, Sonic and Tails had retold their origins and powers, but this time to the real Wheeljack. The white Wrecker was shocked to learn that these mobians had these powers and abilities, but he learned to accept it.
Ratchet was typing on the terminal but couldn't help but to suppress an annoyed groan.
"It's like a reoccurring nightmare" Ratchet noted, continuing to work at the monitor.
"You can say that again, doc." Cliffjumper said, chuckling.
"Now that you're a part of Team Prime, we need to find you a vehicle mode." Bulkhead complied.
"Uh," Wheeljack rubbed the back of his helm. "Actually Bulkhead, now that my ship is repaired, I'm itching to know what else I might find out there."
"Wait!" Miko interrupted.
Team Sonic and the kids had ceased their partying as soon as they overheard Wheeljack and Bulkhead's conversation. The blue hedgehog stepped forward, confusion written on his face.
"You're leaving, why?"
There was a short moment of silence. Wheeljack was blank for words.
"Because," Bulkhead continued, "some 'Bots just never change. Ha-ha,"
Wheeljack smiled, glad that Bulkhead understood his reasons.
"Wheeljack, know that you will always have a haven here" Optimus added.
Wheeljack simply nodded his head. Bulkhead slapped his hand on his buddy's back and laughed a bit.
"Jacky never stays in one place for too long… but he always comes back."
The two best friends smiled at each other and fist pumped.
Aftermath
After Wheeljack took his leave, the autobots, the kids, and the mobians returned to base. Once they did, the two-tailed fox came clean and told Sonic and the others that he accidentally lost the Chaos Emeralds during the 'Wheeljack Faker' incident last week.
"It's not your fault, buddy." Sonic assured him. "The 'Cons just got a head-start on us, that's all."
"I-I know, but, still...I should have left them in the lab."
"Tails, your quick thinking prevented these 'Chaotic Jewels' from falling into decepticon hands." Optimus said, trying to lift Tails' spirits up. The two-tailed fox felt a little better.
"I must ask though." Ratchet said, placing his hand on his chin. "What are the so-called Chaos Emeralds?"
"I've been asking the same thing." Cliff said.
"Should we tell them, Sonic? We did told Agent Fowler."
"You've seen these guys in action, buddy. Pretty sure they can handle themselves." Sonic said. "Besides, this is their universe. They deserve to know the truth about whats going on."
"I guess you're right." The two-tailed fox then his attention to the autobots and the kids. "Let me explain." He then started the origin of the Chaos Emeralds. "The Seven Chaos Emeralds are ancient artifacts from ancient times, items with unlimited energy and power. Their origin is completely shrouded by mystery. If you get one of the emeralds, you'll be able to use Chaos Control." Tails said, continuing the origins. "However, if you collect all seven, you become unstoppable!"
The Autobots, Jack, and Raf were shocked. Miko kind of knew about this, due to playing the 'Sonic games', but hearing the emeralds' origins was cool!
"By the Allspark..." Ratchet said, amazed of the backstory of the chaos emeralds.
"That would explained that dark form of yours." Arcee said, recalled the story of Sonic and Tails' fight against Soundwave.
"Yeah... Normally, my dark form happens if I get too angry." Sonic explained.
"He first used it against the Metarex when they captured and tortured Chris Thorndyke and Cosmo." Tails explained. "He only calmed down when Eggman stopped him from going too far."
The Autobots were shocked hearing this. Optimus then had a final question. "Does this 'Dr. Eggman' have any emeralds with him now?"
"Don't worry, I had them the whole time during the getaway." Tails assured the Prime.
"Also, the Decepticons don't know about the Emeralds either." Sonic said.
"Hopefully, it'll stay that way..." Optimus said wisely.
After the explanation, the autobots took the kids home while Tails and Sonic stayed in base, sleeping.
A/N: Sorry it took me a few months writing this chapter. I had to deal with a lot in life right now. I'm sure you guys might be a bit upset that there was a bit of action in this.
Also, you can see that Tails can use his 'Miles Electric' to determine who's a Bot or a 'Con.
The next chapters: Convoy, Lone Wolves in the Shadows! (Which is in between with Deus Ex Machina), Speed Metal, Predatory, and…Well, that's a surprise for you guys. I'll give you a hint though. It's one of Eggman's former robots coming in a special chapter I'm planning on making.
Also, in the between episode, an old rival of Bumblebee will appear. Y'all can guess who it is, though.
