I heard that Kuro had blue hair, but I'm going to stick with white-hope that's ok. Enjoy.

Mahiru woke up slowly, wincing as a slight pain flew through his head. The last thing he remembered was this pink-haired vampire, a flash of light, and-

"KURO?!" The boy shot up from his bed and looked around anxiously. A few tense minutes rolled by until a soft snore silenced the panic he was feeling. Mahiru sighed in relief and picked up the kitten, cradling him close to his chest.

"You're okay…"

"Of course I'm not okay. You woke me up from the coziest part of my dream. I was traveling across different dimensions, worlds, and adventures and I was finally reaching the end for my reward: Mighty Soft Pillow!" Kuro flailed in Mahiru's arms, but didn't open his eyes.

Mahiru's eyes filled with surprise, "Oh, so it's not a dream? Then that would mean…"

In a flash of movement, Berkia ran over to Ryusei and bit on the boys' arm…hard. The blond child let out a chilling scream as the sharp fangs tore into the meat of his arm. Koyuki began crying in earnest, seemingly frozen as he watched his friend wail in agony.

"Ryusei! He was hurt!" Kuro groaned at the loud noise, but remained motionless in the kid's arms. He pressed the top of his head into the crook of Mahiru's arm, "The first thing we do is not panic, right?" Mahiru bit his lip to stop himself from crying, "I guess. I mean, if he was really hurt, his parents would tell me, right?" "Mmmm…"

Mahiru gently placed Kuro on his bed and ran to the closet to get ready for school.

….

Mahiru ate his lunch, smiling as Kuro ate some of it he set aside for him. His teachers thought Kuro was some kind of emotional therapy animal, so he was allowed to bring him. The other kids in the classroom handed Mahiru some of their food to feed Kuro, all of them cooing at the kittens' content expression.

"Oh, welcome back, Ryusei." "Thank you, ma'am."

"Ryusei!" Forgetting about his lunch, Mahiru ran toward his friend. Absently, he noticed that Koyuki came in with him. Ryusei looked a little startled at the sudden shout, but smirked as Mahiru stared wide-eyed at him. Mahiru looked at the bandaged arm in worry. "Is your arm ok?"

Ryusei scoffed good-naturedly, "Yeah. I was playing at the park after the festival and sprained my arm. Luckily, it wasn't that big a deal."

Mahiru looked at Ryusei, confused, "Huh? But you hurt your arm when that vampire-." Kuro jumped from the desks and landed on Mahiru's shoulder, causing Mahiru to move his confused look to the kitten. Kuro subtly shook his head, rubbing the top of his head under Mahiru's chin.

Ryusei and Koyuki looked at Mahiru strangely. Finally, Koyuki spoke, "…Have you been watching Scooby Doo movies again?"

Mahiru sighed, "Yes, that's exactly what I've been doing."

….

Mahiru looked up at the sky, face completely filled with confusion about his friends. How could Ryusei and Koyuki forget about anything that happened yesterday? He wouldn't have-he would've stayed in his room for the rest of his life.

Suddenly, his blue backpack began moving, along with a few muttered words of complaint from Kuro. The boy ran into the alley and opened his bag.

There, struggling with Kuro, was a doll version of the vampire that attacked them yesterday, Berkia!

Mahiru immediately grabbed the doll, fighting the urge to scream in terror as it began kicking and yelling at him. Kuro jumped from the bag onto the boy's shoulder, fur raised up in warning.

"I'm hungry! Let me drink you!" Mahiru lifted the doll up and away from him, making sure to keep the teeth from his flesh. "No! And stop talking-you're not supposed to!"

"Look, Mommy! That kid has a talking doll-can I get one too?" Mahiru turned to see a mom and son looking at him, the mom smiling in amusement. She turned towards her son, "Maybe some other time, sweetheart. Now let's go-we need to meet Daddy at the restaurant, okay?"

Other adults were looking at Mahiru in amusement, causing him to be embarrassed. He squeezed the doll's head against his chest and ran, ignoring Berkia's threats of making sure his master killed them both.

"I can't wait for you to be devoured by Lord Tsubaki!"

Mahiru looked at Berkia in confusion, then turned towards his kitten. "Who's Tsubaki?" Kuro looked at him in exasperation, "I don't know-how about you?" Mahiru pouted, "You could've just said 'I don't know' and stop." A droplet of rain fell on his head, followed by another. Before long, Mahiru and Kuro were getting drenched. "Well, at least the rain's warm."

A sharp thwacking sound seemed to get closer and closer to the trio, but Mahiru continued to walk forward, stroking Kuro's fur to comfort himself. He only stopped when he noticed a shadow covering his own. He looked up slowly, swallowing his fear as he looked into slit pupils surrounded by red irises.

It was a man in front of him. He seemed to be wearing an outfit from centuries ago-a black kimono covered his body, a long white robe draped across his shoulders. Black pants adorned his legs and he wore old-school white socks, and wooden sandals. His skin was snow white, he had short, black hair, and he was wearing glasses. The longer Mahiru stared at him, the wider the smile the man adorn.

Suddenly, everything turned red, causing Mahiru to look around in a panic. Kuro jumped from his shoulder, then landed back to earth into his human form. He walked in front of Mahiru, holding an arm out. Mahiru couldn't look away from the scary man.

"Lord Tsubaki! Lord Tsubaki, it's me!" Mahiru gulped, feeling a new type of terror overwhelming him. This man was Tsubaki?

"Hello My Brother." The man's voice was eerie, yet smooth. It caused goose bumps to crawl all over his skin. Kuro tensed in confusion, but didn't make a sound. Tsubaki held up an arm; Berkia was hanging compliantly in his hand. "Thank you for returning my servant to me." Mahiru made a startled noise, crying in confusion when he saw that his backpack was gone.

"So…Brother…how has the family been?" Kuro spoke in a bored manner, "I don't even know who you are, man. Don't make this a pain for me." Tsubaki tilted his head to the side, a picture of innocence, "You forgot me, Big Brother?" Mahiru looked up at Kuro in concern.

Before he could say anything, he let out a scream as Tsubaki suddenly pushed Kuro to the side. A cold arm wrapped around his shoulders, causing the child to shudder. "Are you afraid of me, boy?" Mahiru nodded shakily. Tsubaki chuckled, taking great delight in the boys' fear. "Good. Embrace it-it will be the final thing you feel when you leave this world." Kuro leapt over, arm drawn back for a punch, but Tsubaki disappeared.

"It must be nice-being able to forget people at the drop of a hat…even your own family. All of my siblings did!" Mahiru spoke up, "You have siblings too?" Tsubaki smirked, "Yes. I have seven siblings. Sloth, or Kuro, as you know him, is my eldest brother. Then there was Old Child of Pride, Doubt Doubt of Envy, The Mother of Wrath, Lawless of Greed, World End of Gluttony, and All of Love of Lust."

Mahiru looked up at Kuro and asked, "What was wrong with your parents?" Kuro sweat dropped and muttered, "Not now, Mahiru." A high, squeaking noise interrupted the conversation, "I couldn't kill all of the people you wanted master. This brat and his Servamp hurt me before I could do anything."

Kill..?

Die and never come back..?

Mom…

….

Mahiru moved away from Kuro, looking up at Tsubaki with disgust and confusion

"Mr. Tsubaki, why are you ordering for innocent people to be killed? They haven't done anything to you."

"…So what?"

Mahiru gaped, unable to process how someone could kill without a reason. "W-What?"

The evil being stepped closer, wearing the same small smile, "So what? I don't need to have a reason. Watching people die, seeing how they react when they realize that they're living their final moments? It's interesting. And that's the type of life I want…an interesting life. First it was only about single deaths, but by the time everything's complete, I'm ready for a war."

Mahiru hugged himself, feeling tears fall down his face, "W-Why is it interesting for you about taking somebody's life?! Is there a deeper reason that you're like this?!"

Tsubaki remained silent.

"You'll never find out." Suddenly, a sword materialized in the vampires' hand, the silver reflecting the scared face of the child. "Now, die!"

"MAHIRU!" Kuro raced toward the child, arm stretched out to try to catch the silver, when suddenly a fleck of purple appeared within the red world. It floated near the duo and they disappeared before the sword could connect.

….

"Mahiru? Wake up, kid." Mahiru let out a small whine, dizziness filling his head. He looked up into concerned, red eyes and smiled wearily. "Hi, Kuro." The child groaned and rubbed his forehead, "What happened?"

"Hello."

The duo jumped at the new voices. Two girls, who looked to be Mahiru's age, walked toward them with blank expressions on their faces. They both had pink hair, black ribbons, moonlight skin, glowing red eyes, and white and black dresses, but that was all the similarities. One of them had long hair, the other short; the longer hair had a white nightgown dress with a long black shirt, the short hair was wearing a white blouse and a black skirt.

They both took each of Mahiru's hands and led him to this black limo.

"All of Love is calling for you."

I'm going to meet another vampire…

I hope he's like Kuro.

The boy startled when he felt a sudden weight on his left shoulder, relaxing when he heard Kuro purr soothingly in his ear. Mahiru gasped when he noticed there was someone sitting on a strange looking throne in front of the limo.

It was a boy who looked like he should be in high school. He had purple-black hair and was wearing something that almost looked like a school uniform…if it wasn't for the embellishments.

The uniform was purple and black, there were four black crosses printed across the shirt. He sat like a stuck-up prince. Opening his silver eyes, they widened at the sight as he saw there was a child in front of him instead of a boy about the same age. The boy looked at the cat on Mahiru's shoulder, his teeth gritting at the thought of that Servamp tying itself to a child.

He let out a small sigh and turned back to Mahiru, smoothing his face into a calmer look.

"Hello. I am Arisuin Misono. I am the Eve of All of Love. He's at the mansion. I need you to come with me. Don't worry-I'm not going to hurt you."

Mahiru looked at Kuro, who hesitated, "I…guess it would be alright to meet my youngest brother." Mahiru nodded at the suggestion.

"Okay…" Quietly, the trio went into the limo.

….

A few minutes during the ride, Mahiru had given in to the exhaustion of the day and fell asleep. Kuro transformed back into his human form, allowing the child to rest against his lap. Misono looked at the child emotionlessly, then turned toward Kuro.

The vampire was absentmindedly stroking Mahiru's hair, soothing the child into deeper slumber. "You know, when Snow Lilly heard about you being sighted with an Eve of your own, he failed to mention that it was someone so young." Kuro shrugged, "It's a shock to me too, but that's what happened. There's no point in getting worked up over something that can't be changed."

Misono looked out the window dully, not saying a word.

….

"Come on, kid. Time to get up."

Mahiru grumbled at the sudden movement, but opened his eyes obediently. He gaped as the two pinkettes giggled over him. Blushing, he hid his face against Kuro's side, who smirked lazily at him. "Come on, let's go."
