Chapter 58- Arizona
Since Aria made us spend the night apart, I didn't get much sleep. When Callie and I first got together I had trouble sleeping with someone in bed, now apparently, I have trouble sleeping alone. Alex, Teddy, April, Jackson, Henry, and I, along with Sofia and dad for a bit, had a fun night. Teddy and Henry were saving some old furniture for burning, so they brought it over and we had a nice fire. There was one point Teddy thought she might have to call the fire department, but with her training she got the fire under control. We had let Sofia decide who she wanted to be with tonight, and she chose to stay home with me, saying she'd have more fun with adults who still act like kids. I laugh at that, then feel a foot press into my ribs, confused for a moment, until I hear giggling. Guess I didn't sleep alone. I smile, as Sofia pokes her head out. "good morning Zo"
"good morning" I smile as she cuddles into me.
"are you excited?" she asks, I couldn't help but smile, I nod "me too" she says. She had gone with Callie, Aria and Lucia and picked out an outfit, for today. To Callie's disappointment, it was a women's suit, I had felt a sense of pride, knowing the teen wanted to dress like me. There was a knock and the door opened "get up" Alex says, coming in "it smells in here do you ever open a window?"
"fuck off" I laugh and Sofia climbs out of bed, running out of the room.
"well little Callie has made herself at home" Alex says hearing the bathroom door slam shut. Sofia had made herself at home here, she still gets a little nervous asking for things, but she's getting better. "so" Alex says sitting down on the bed "todays the day"
"yup" I say taking a deep breath "hopefully she shows"
"why wouldn't she?"
"I don't know Alex" I sigh "she's way too good for me"
"if she's way too good for you, then I'm way out of my league with Aria" he says
"true" I laugh then look at him "did you ever think we'd end up with the Torres girls?"
"not in a million years" he smiles. I remember them from our teenage years, I remember seeing Aria around and crushing on her a bit. She was older than us, but that didn't stop us. Dad calls up the stairs that breakfast was ready, and I climb out of bed, following Alex down to the kitchen, stopping at the bathroom once I was downstairs, Sofia had yet to come out of the upstairs one. By the time we were finished with breakfast, April, and Jackson had shown up, and not long after Teddy came barreling down the driveway in her side by side. I had to laugh at how bad the blonde had looked "someone feeling a little rough today?" Alex asks
"shut it" she said rolling her eyes at Alex, and we head inside to get ready. Alex and I still had to shower, but Sofia was in there right now. Seems to be a trend today, Sofia hogging the bathrooms. I chuckle to myself, shaking my head, I guess that's what it's gonna be like having a teenager in the house. Hearing a car come down the driveway, I look out the window and see it's Carlos. And I see my dad, who was standing outside, take a deep breath. "I wish dad would talk to me about how he's feeling"
"I take it Carlos is here?" Alex says joining me at the window, we watch as Carlos gets out of the car, and I could tell by his posture that my dad was nervous. And we watch as Carlos pulls him into a hug. "isn't that sweet" Alex says.
"hmm" I hum my reply
"why are you guys glued to the window" Teddy asks joining us, seeing my dad and Carlos still hugging. "hmm, who'da thunk Carlos Torres actually has a heart"
"yeah" Alex says stepping back from the window. I let out a sigh, as Sofia comes into the room "who's ready to get dressed"
"aren't you adorable" Teddy says
"Aunt Teddy, I'm cute, not adorable" Sofia says correcting her, the fact that she called her aunt Teddy lost on all of us. She still called me Zo, and Callie, Callie, but everyone else, Alex was uncle Alex, and she's always called Aria, auntie, but when it came to Lucia and my dad, it was gramps and nana. I think it'll take a while for her to call Callie and I mom, but that's ok. I smile and reach for my clothes, it was my turn in the shower.

I took a little longer than usual in the shower, using it to calm my nerves, by the time I was back upstairs, the guests were starting to show up. Dad had just come in saying I needed to hurry up and if I wasn't done in 5 minutes I had to finish getting ready in the kennel. Teddy and I looked at each other, shrugged, grabbing the rest of our clothes and made our way to the kennel. The girls were on the way back. Once inside the office, I let out a sigh of relief "she didn't run"
"what?" Teddy asks turning to look at me
"Callie, I thought for sure she'd run" I say shaking my head to try and clear the thought
"why would she?" Teddy gave me a confused look "Zo" she said moving closer to me, putting her hands on my shoulders "that woman loves you"
"she thinks Callie is too good for her" Sofia says spinning around in the desk chair "Alex keeps telling her she's not, but" Teddy and I both giggle at the teenagers words. Another hour passed quickly, as more guests start to arrive. Dad came in, looking around and left not saying anything "what was that about?" Alex asks, as he peaks out the window. "hey didn't Lucia rent a limo for today?"
"yeah" I say not paying much attention to what Alex was saying "well there's not one out there, and I haven't seen one pull in at all"
"maybe they canceled it last minute" Teddy said
"I don't know" Alex says leaving the office letting the door slam behind him. It was at that point I got a feeling like something was wrong. "Teddy" I say looking at my friend, she seemed to understand what I was saying. "stay here, Sofia stay with her" Sofia nod and I watch as she leaves.
"what's going on?" Sofia asks,
"I'm not sure" I say, reaching for the phone in the office I pick it up dialing Callie's number. It rang once and went to voicemail. Hanging up, I dial Lucia's number, getting the same, it rang once then went to voicemail. Taking a deep breath I dialed Aria's number, getting the same. "something isn't right" I say hanging up the phone.
"what do you mean?" Sofia asks
"I" I say looking around "I'm not sure" I sigh "come on" I say as we leave the office. "I've tried all their cells, it rings once and goes to voicemail" I hear Carlos say "now I know they aren't my biggest fans but"
"she ran" I say causing everyone to look at me
"Zo, no" dad says, I didn't wait for him to say anymore, I ran into the kennel and out the other side, finding a four-wheeler, I hopped on and took off. I didn't know where I was going, but I couldn't be here. If Callie doesn't want me I have no reason to be here, or anywhere.
