Chapter 64- Callie
A double wedding, in a hospital room, why am I not liking this idea? "Aria" I say turning my focus to my sister "I love the idea of having a double wedding" I pause and turn my focus to Arizona who shrugs her shoulders, turning back to look at my sister "just not in a hospital room, we still have everything set up at home, can't we do it once you're back at home?"
"they said tomorrow or the next day" Aria says
"then we'll do it this weekend, I'll call Bailey, if she hasn't already heard what happened, I'll explain"
"no need to explain" the short woman's voice was heard "I heard about it, Aria how are you feeling?"
"I'll live"
"that's good" Bailey walks into the room "so why were you calling me?"
"we want to do a double wedding this weekend"
"oh" she says looking at me than at Arizona, who again shrugs, causing me to roll my eyes can't she have any input on anything. "wait, double wedding? Who is the other couple?" Bailey asks
"us" Alex says reaching for Aria's good hand and bringing it to his mouth kissing the back of it.
"isn't that cute" she smiles "well I'm free"
"now you two need to get a hold of everyone and" she says looking at me than at Arizona, who I can tell is trying to hold back her laughter. "did you get a phone yet?"
"yeah, that's how Sofia got hers"
"oh right" she laughs "the drugs are making me a bit loopy" she adds then turns toward Alex "why don't you and Zo go make those phone calls"
"ok" he says and I watch as he leans in and gives her a kiss. I feel my new phone vibrate, and pull it out, seeing I had a bunch of text. One caught my eye, it was from Meredith "I heard what happened, give me a call when you can" I looked up at Aria, "I'm going to make a call, I'll be right back" she nods, turning her attention back to Bailey. Stepping outside the room I hit the call button and wait, it rang twice then "Callie, oh thank god you're ok"
"yeah" I sigh
"what happened to you? We were at the place, and you never showed"
"ugh" I groan "I'd rather not go into it, Aria is in the hospital"
"what?" she exclaimed so loud I had to pull the phone away from my ear, and I hear her tell someone, I'm assuming Cristina "what hospital" she asked, I assume me. Shaking my head, they aren't from here, so they wouldn't know "the one in Faribault" I say and hear her repeat it, and then hear Cristina say something "we're on the way" and the line goes dead. Pulling my phone away from my ear I stare at it dumbfounded. Shaking my head I walk back into the room "Mer, and Cristina are on the way"
"oh good, I haven't seen them since college" Bailey says, "well outside of yesterday, but we really didn't get a chance to talk much" I nod, I don't know if I mentioned how Maranda Bailey and I became friends, where as we both grew up around here, we didn't become friends until college. We all ended up joining the same study group and clicked instantly. Meredith and Cristina went on to med school, and Bailey and I came back home, after graduating. "why are they coming here?" Aria's voice sneaks through my thoughts.
"I'm not sure" I laugh shrugging
"oh they're big doctors now, donchaknow" Bailey says, Aria looked at her, and her so obvious Minnesotan accent "what?"
"nothing" Aria laughed, then winced in pain.
"do you need more pain meds?" I ask walking over to the head of the bed and moving some hair behind her ears.
"no" Aria shook her head "what I need to get everything set up for this weekend"
"but if you're in pain" I start to say, but am cut off by a loud voice in the hallway "Callie Torres, where are you" we all laugh, and I move to the door, and walk out of the room "there she is" Meredith says.
"I told you we'd find them" Cristina says and pushes her way past me, and into the room.
"it's nice to see you too Cristina" I say, as Meredith pulls me in for a hug.
