Crossbell has finally gained its independence. The SSS and all of Crossbell finally have their dreams come true. Suddenly, Rufus Albarea and the newly established Ebon Defense Force attacked and took over Crossbell once more. Three Heroes: Lloyd, Rean, and a mysterious masked man must work together to solve this crisis and free Crossbell together once more with friends all over.

20. Act 3 Rufus's Route No Place like Home

(Trails into Reverie ost - The Ways of the Tree Spirits -Hajime Ver-)

Rufus's and his group open their eyes.

'Hmm?' Rufus thought to himself.

"What just happened just now?" Neve asked

"Did something happen?" Lapis asked

"All I remember was starting at that strange mirror." Rouge answered.

"Hm?" Hazama rub his chin. "Is it just me or does anyone else suddenly felt stronger?"

"Now that you mention it..." Shadow rub his chin.

'Something certainly is strange with this mirror. I don't recall anything in particular happening after I took it out of my pocket. As Hazama pointed out... I feel stronger now than I was before. Though if my theory is correct...'He thought for a moment." No. Nothing good will come from dwelling on it. I'll keep this to myself for now on and perhaps it will prove useful down the line.'

"Are you feeling okay, Rufus?" Nemona asked.

"Never better." Rufus replied. "It's as Renne said. The studio shouldn't be much further from here. Let us make haste."

"Sounds like a plan." Raven nodded and they take off

Lapis turn her head and see the mountain view. "Wow! Rufus!" She called out as the others turn. "You can see the mountains all the way here!"

"I gotta say, not a bad view." Raven mused.

"Much fo Crossbell remains untapped in potential." Rufus rub his chin. "Perhaps I should have expanded more as governer general."

"My, aren't you cold-blooded? You're just as heartless as you are as souless." Neve said bluntly

"It's funny hearing that from the Ice Keyblade Master who is just as cruel as cold." Rufus shot back as they take off.

"Unlike me, I'm not the one who thinks of people as pawns nor would use them to your advantages."

"Oh? And what about you belittling Keyblade wielders and strong warriors to face by insulting their masters or themselves? Wouldn't that be shameless?"

"Ha! Perhaps, but I don't—"

Neve and Rufus begin to argue with each other, although there wasn't any sort of resentment or anger with each other, just an argument.

"Those two sound like a married couple." Nadia commented as they made their way to the studio

"Take the side road to get to his studio.' Renne pointed.

"This is around where we went to grab the case." Swin said

"I can't wait to be home." Lapis smiled. "Let's not waste another minute!"

"I wonder what would the studio look like." Fuuka wondered as they eventually found it.

"And here we are." Renne said

"This place is the Rosenberg Studio?" Arven asked. "Not exactly what I had in mind."

"So this is where I was born." Lapis said intrigued.

"This place is huge even as far as other mansions go." Swin said

"Yeah, but everything else about it looks pretty tun of the mill." Nadia replied.

"That's where you would be wrong. It may look normal on the outside, but the inside is anything but." Renne told them.

"And that being said?" Wario asked.

"It used to be that if you dared to wander inside unprepared, you would meet certain death."

"Waaah?" Waluigi jawdropped. "Death!? I didn't sign up for this!"

"Okay so to avoid that, we gotta be prepared right?" Labrys asked

"Well, you'll die even if you do prepare." Renne replied.

"Eh?!"

"This may be very dangerous indeed." Emblem Lief muttered.

"Well, lucky for you, you got two skilled treasure hunter among this group, not to mention we've experienced many death thrilling dungeons and situations so we should be able to get you our of there in peace." Rouge shrugged.

"Right. Plus, doesn't that sound a bit fun to risk your lives to obtain the things you need?" Kammy giggled. "It would be rather boring if there isn't any thrilling."

"I... suppose so?" Emblem Celica gave a look of confusion and concern.

"Hmph. As if any of these traps can do much harm." Shadow folds his arms. "But we got no time to lose. We'll see what kind of info we can get from this place. But first." Shadow turns to his left and then summons Chaos Spear. "Stop hiding and come out."

"Whoa, easy there friend!" A voice spoke as two figures came out from hiding in the trees and revealed to be Kevin and Ries.

'Oh, you have got to be kidding me...' Neve thought.

"Huh? Who are these guys?" Wario asked.

"I thought I sense more than our presence. Judging from your outfit, I assume you're related to the church?" Hazama asked.

Renne casually wrap her arms behind her back. "I was wondering when you'll show up, Kevin. Ries."

"You know these guys?" Florian asked

Emblem Loewe appeared. "Yes. Renne and I are familiar with him and the Sister next to him."

Kevin and Ries eyes widen as they have an !? over their heads.

"You...!" Ries gasped.

"Leonheart..." Kevin stared in shock.

"It's been some time, Heretic Hunter." Loewe said.

"Oh, damn..." Kevin scratched his hair sheepishly. "I heard rumors and tales from Gaius and Wazy but... seeing you as an Emblem... a holy spirit from another world... I thought they were both pulling my legs. But I never expected any members of the society to be Emblems... considering the things you've done."

"Inviduals identified. The man with the hedgehog hair is known as the Fifth Dominion of the Septain Church: Kevin Graham." Omega said

"Bwahahahaha!" Wario and Waluigi burst into laughter as they point at Kevin.

"Oh yeah! It's Mr. Hedgehog! Waaaaaahahaha!" Waluigi laughed.

"I bet he's related to Sonic!" Waaahahahaha!" Waluigi laughed

"Oh, I know that my head is spiky but was that really necessary?" Kevin frown. "Oh, Miss Mitsuru and Miss Fuuka! It's nice to see you two."

"The same can be said to you and Miss Ries, Mr. Gramham." Mitsuru places her hand over her hip. "I believe we met during Prince Olivert's wedding."

"It is good to see you again. So you were also here in Crossbell?" Fuuka asked.

"So what took you so long? Mr. Dominion? I thought you were able to come sooner than expected." Renne asked

"Yeah, sorry about that. We had to take a detour. Boy, you had no idea how tough to get into Crossbell when it's this closed off. The Co-Supreme Leader really had this place sealed off." Kevin sighed. "Speaking off..." He turn to Rufus who is hiding in the mask. "You can drop the mask. I know that it's you, Rufus Albarea."

"Heh. I'm surprised you were able to see through me so quickly. Or perhaps... you've known for a while?" Rufus removed his mask as he asked.

"Yeah, let's just say you completely took me by surprise back in Heimdallr."

"As expected, I knew I sensed we were being followed and that it was you too." Neve fold his arms.

"Wait, so you know them as well?" Swin asked.

"I met them before firing my travels involving some heretic. That was in the eastern part of Zemuria if I recall."

"We haven't got the chance to thank you in person for helping us find that vile man." Ries smiles.

"Yeah, I was gonna repay you back with a drink. Of course, if I did that... many of the women would flock over you." Kevin muttered

The group sweatdrop.

"That's your main issue?" Ries asking with a deadpan look. "Honestly, why am I not surprised that you would say that."

"So you're here as backup from Renne, right?" Nadia asked

"Well, that's part of it, yes." Kevin answered.

"Oh?" Renne asked intrigued.

"But first off, why are you with him, Renne? Same goes for the rest of you too."

"Well, here's the short version of it."

(Trails into Reverie ost - Slight Suspicion)

"Okay, so there are two Rufuses. The one you're all here is the real one while the one occupied in Crossbell is an imposter." Kevin rub his chin. "So that explains what he mean back in Heimdallr and our intel about him. I did find it suspicious how he took over Crossbell so quickly and appeared after escaping prison. I'm guessing this Xehanort is also an imposter, or the real deal?"

"I can't say for certain, but I can assume that he's also an imposter." Rufus answered.

"Right, right. So you're here to fight out the root source of this chaos with that doll is the key?" Kevin turning to Lapis.

"Correct. That's why we're here in Rosenberg Studio so we can find intel about her." Renne replied

"This is... much to progress, I'll admit..." Ries muttered.

"So what was the other reason why you're here?" Nadia asked

"I'm on a mission to search for a thief who stole an artifact from the church." Kevin folds his arms.

"A thief?" Rufus asked.

"Yes." Ries nodded her head. "About two months ago on January 18. Someone infiltrated the Septain Church main building and stole one of the artifacts that we kept."

Everyone had an !? over their heads.

"Someone managed to steal an artifact from the church?" Swin asked

"Whoa, that is a big risk if they plan to steal from the church." Nadia comment.

"Yeah. The church headquarters put up quite a fuzz. I was tasked to find that person, retrieve the artifact that they stole and punish them by executing them. But the problem is we don't know who it is. And to make it worse, an ability I have was completely neutralized. Whoever they are much have some sort of power to overcome it. And I get the feeling that the situation in Crossbell may be related to all this."

"Hmm... There have been many suspicious movements lately behind the scenes..." Aigis admitted. "Including how the Co-Supreme Leaders occupied Crossbell. I fear there will be trouble in the future."

"Indeed. So what do you plan to do now?" Mitsuru asked

"Given the new info, I would say sticking with you guys may be our best bet to solving this incident. Wouldn't you agree, Ries?" Kevin asked

"Agreed. You wouldn't mind if we join you?" Ries asked

"Not at all. The more help, the better we can find out the source and how to better counter it." Rufus said

"I should warn you that the layout looks to have changed quite a bit since I was last here, so I might not be able to show you around like I own the place... but I can still vouch for how many fun toys we'll get to play with while we wander." Renne said as they headed inside.

As they all headed inside, unknown to them was a young man watching on top of a tree who then vanished.

(Trails into Reverie ost - Hide and Seek by Myself)

As they enter, they follow Renne to the facility. They go pass a door that lead them to an underground facility.

"Oh!" Lapis gasped.

"What is it, Lapis-san?" Aigis asked

"Did you recover pieces of your memory?" Fuuka asked.

"No, but look at all those toys!" Lapis pointed and turn to see mechanical monsters patrolling the areas along with activated security systems in place.

"Hey! You nearly got our hopes up for nothing!" Wario complained.

"I suppose its fitting to call them "toys" if they are security droids build by a madman." Raven fold her arms.

"Reminds me of Watts." Emerald admitted

"I advised caution on those lights. My reading show they are not trap triggers, but lasers build to harm any trespassers." Omega said.

"Yeah. This is totally different from how It was before." Renne sighed. "No bumping into anything you're not supposed to."

"I'm honestly not surprised that you would be familiar with this place with this level of security, Renne..." Penny scratch her cheeks. "I just hope Sylveon doesn't get hurt."

"Oh, right. You all brought out your Pokemon, huh? I guess we should too, right, Ries?" Kevin asked.

"Yes. But I doubt your Salemence would fit through this doorway." Ries replied. "The Rosenberg Doll Studio is one of the society's Thirteen Factories. We should tread carefully as we go."

"She's right. But we should also be aware of any other dangers that are hidden in this facility." Emblem Loewe added

"We should also be careful for Heartless that might be lurking in the workshop as well. So stay alert." Neve added as they begin to make their way to pass through the lasers carefully and making down Fortune Coins and Cloy Dolls along the way.

They reach an area where there is a mechanical lock with a terminal reading "lock" on it.

"Looks like we got ourselves a lock door." Raven fold her arms as Lapis tried to push it but it won't budge.

"Mmgh! This door won't budge at all!" Lapis complained.

"Can't say I'm not too surprised. I mean this is a security factory belonging to Ouroboros." Hazama replied. "A bit overkill if you ask me."

"Yamagishi, can you access it through that computer over there?" Mitsuru turning to the terminal.

"I should be able to. A Moment." Fuuka approached the terminal and then begin typing. "Oh dear..."

"Is something wrong?" Nemona asked.

"I'm afraid this security system is on a higher level. Unlike anything I've ever seen. Whoever designs it is truly a genius in the security department. They're using a highly advanced security system that's connected to the orbal network. Our terminal is connected to a second one located somewhere else—and they must be operated as a pair."

"Damn, that definitely sounds highly advance." Swin muttered.

"Hmm... Let me see if I can help." Penny summons a screen and hologram keyboard from her technomancy and begins typing.

"D-Did that screen come out of nowhere?" Swin asked, looking surprised

"How the heck did you do that, Penny?" Lapis asked

"Oh, this is technomancy. It's a type of magic that allows me to manipulate modern technology."

Nadia whistle. "Whoa. A type of magic that can affect technology? Wow, Penny, you have an overpowering magic."

"Oh, um... thank you..." Penny replied with a nervous smile.

"Let me see if I can help too." Renne press the earpiece and a hologram screen appeared and the keyboard.

"Whoa! You can use technomancy too, Renne?" Nadia asked.

"Oh no. I'm not like Penny. Do you see this earpiece?" She pointed to hear purple with a cat sticker earpiece. "What you're seeing is a highly developed, state-of-the-art portable terminal in the shape of an earpiece. It provides a hologram screen and keyboard similar to the ARCUS Alpha and its one of my personal terminals. Just like my ARCUS Alpha, its custom design unlike the other ARCUS Alphas we have that allows me to do many uses I have for it."

"Very intriguing..." Rufus rub his chin with intrigue look on his face. "I assume this is the latest development to the Epstein Foundation?"

"No. This was invested by a friend of mine in the Mushroom Kingdom."

"The Mushroom Kingdom... I presume you mean Professor E. Gadd?"

"No. He help with the project. Kirito is the one who develops it."

"Ah, yes. The Black Swordsman. How very fortunately that not only we have one expert, but three it seems. One member of the shadow operatives, one from the Pokemon region and then we have the legendary hacker who's made quite a name for herself in Crossbell as 'Kitty'."

'Honestly, First, we got a bunch of people from a Pokemon Region, then we have a talking black hedgehog, a Bat, a Mouse, three artificial intelligence, a sandy guy, two members of the church, Raven and Emerald, and Wario and Waluigi character. Seriously, if we add any more colorful characters in this group, we'll make a rainbow.' Swin thought

"So have you ladies managed to find out the second terminal is located?" Kammy asked.

"Sorry... I'm afraid it's far too encrypted. It will take some time for my magic to decode it." Penny answered.

"What's more, even the computer and my personal terminal won't be able to devode it." Renne answered.

"Then guess we'll do this the old-fashioned way." Wario turn to the door. "By breaking it!"

"Wait, hold on—"

"Here a go!" Wario charge his punch and punched the door with powerful force. "What?" He blinked and then repeatedly punch the door. "Grrrr! What gives?!"

"Hang on, let me handle it." Waluigi pull out a rocket launcher as Wario pull out of the way.

"Is that a rocket launcher?!" Swin exclaimed.

"FIRE!" Wario yelled as Waluigi fire.

"Incoming!" Arven yelled as Penny activated a barrier as they all take cover as the explosion blow toward the bro as they all shield their eyes.

As the smoke clear, the door remains in tact.

"What?! That didn't work!" Waluigi stomping his feet in complain.

Renne pinch her nose. "I was going to say using brute force isn't going to help us. That includes hacking apparently."

"What?! What are we suppose to do now?" Wario asked

"How about not trying to blast us and give us a warning?" Swin growled.

"I guess that means we're stuck here, doesn't it?" Emerald asked

Neve palm face as he sigh. "Move it." He shove Wario and Waluigi out of the way.

"Hey!" They both yelled as Neve summon his Keyblade, aim and then fired a beam of light onto the door.

The door begin to unlock itself as it open the way.

"Whoa! It open!" Lapis exclaimed.

"What!?" Wario jawdropped. "All it took was just like that?"

"Hehe. I should expect nothing less from a Keyblade since it can open any lock." Rufus chuckled. "Having a Keyblade wielder is also a bountiful luck."

"Hmph. Flattering won't get you anywhere." Neve replied

"So this is one of the Keyblade's power..." Kevin rub his chin.

"Wow! Way to go Neve! You're like our magical door opener." Nadia clapped her hands and cheered. "I should call you: "Mr. Door opener"."

"Call me that again and I'll freeze you, Nadia." Neve said threateningly.

"Why so cold, Mr frost?"

Swin palmface. "Nadia, can you try not to antagonize him?"

"Pfft Ahahaah! Oh, this is going to be a fun little group." Hazama laughed. "Now that problem is taken care of, we should—"

Everyone heard an alarm as they had an ! over their heads.

"Unauthorized access detected. Increasing threat levels in the first and second laboratories."

They turn inside and see increase numbers of mechanical monsters and robots making their way.

"I can't say I saw this coming." Rouge casually shrugged.

"Enemies detected. They must be destroyed." Omega readied its arms.

"I hope we can find something here..." Lapis said solemn.

"Well, let's begin. I thrust we can count on you to guide us?" Rufus asked

"I'll try, but the layout looks nothing like how I remember it. There's no telling what traps await. Be careful." Renne said

"Okay, let's do this everyone!" Nemona smirked

"I just hope we don't get blasted at our faces..." Kieran groaned as they walked and then they see Fountune Coins rolling their way toward them.

"Are those coin guards?" Carmine asked. "Okey, those are not what I expected."

"Oh, they're pretty easy to kill. But they do possess some powers to cause some trouble." Renne replied.

"I see. Then Ralts, use Confuision on them." Rufus command.

"Raaaaa." Ralts's eyes glow blue and then blue lines immobilized them as Rufus swoop in to slash them with one blue.

"Excellent. Well done Raltz."

"Raaa." Raltz cried happily until it begin to glow.

"Ah." Rufus let out a small gasp.

"Oh! Sweet little Ralts is evolving!" Nadia exclaimed as Ralts involved into Kirlia.

"Kirliaaa." Kirlia spins gracefully.

"Ooh. It involved into Kirlia." Nadia clapped her hands as Rufus pull out his ARCUS Alpha.

"Kirlia. The Emotion Pokemon and the evolve form of Ralts. A Psychic and Fairy Type. It is said that a Kirlia that is exposed to the positive emotions of its Trainer grows beautiful. This Pokémon controls psychokinetic powers with its highly developed brain."

"So Rufus. Is your Kirlia a boy or a girl?" Florian asked.

"According to the Pokedex, it's a boy." Rufus answered.

"Ooh. You know, as a master swordsman, I think I know a Pokemon that is suited for you then a Gardevoir if needed." He pull out a Dawn Stone.

"A stone? It's beautifully shine I'll admit."

"It's a Dawn Stone. It can evolve certain Pokemons. Like a male Kirlia for example. It can evolve into the male counterpart of Gardevoir: Gallade. I think he'll suit you that way."

"Is that so? Very well." Rufus nodded as Florian handed him the Dawn Stone and approached Kirlia, knee down and offer the stone as Kirlia touch it and it evolve, and then it form into Gallade as Rufus got back on his feet

"Gaaaaallade!" Gallade took his stand with its bladearms and kicks and swings.

"A Gallade, hmm?" Rufus scan him with his ARCUS Alpha.

"Gallade. The Blade Pokemon and one of the final evolved forms of Ralts. A Psychic and Fighting Type. A master of courtesy and swordsmanship. True to its honorable-warrior image, it uses the blades on its elbows only in defense of something or someone. Because it can sense what its foe is thinking, its attacks burst out first, fast, and fierce."

Rufus blinked and palmface as he laugh.

"Is something funny?" Florian raising an eyebrow.

"I can understand why you've given me the Dawn Stone. Gallade sounds like a perfect training partner as well as a partner. Although I doubt I can be honorable as he is."

"Well, guess we'll find out. But I do think a Gallade definitely fits you as a Pokemon Partner as they continue onward.

"No offense, but are you sure you wanna give advice to that guy?" Carmine asked.

"Well he did turn himself in, didn't he. Plus he does want to fix this mess from the looks of it." Florian casually wrap his arms behind his head.

"I guess so?" Kieran tilt his head as they see Basillisk Starer and PG Alice. "Gah! Is that doll moving and an eye monster?!"

"Blah! That's the last type of monsters I expected to see!" Carmine shivered.

"Well, you're gonna have to get used to it while you're going anywhere in this world." Renne said as the Basillisk spotted them and then fired eye laser as they dodged and Florian dashed and impale it eye as it screech, then spin slash, backflip then throw daggers to kill it.

Two of PG Alice raided their knives and ran toward Florian to slash him, but he backflip and throw knive at them as Kierian throw his Sai to the dolls but they swing to deflect as they return to his hands and then ran up for a sweep kick, the two dolls jump to slash him but Carmine swing her three-section staff to knock the dolls back and Waluigi whip them and finish them off.

"Huh..." Kieran blinked as he look at himself. "Is it me or does it feel like I've gotten experience with this before?"

"Oh, now that you mention it, you're right? It's felt like we had years of experience with it. But how the heck is that possible?" Carmine wondered.

"Not sure about you guys but look." Emerald pointed to the many laser beams trapped in the hallway.

"Lasers in a line, huh?" Shadow rolled his eyes.

"These traps are nothing but cheap toys! There's not a scrap of elegance to them!" Lapis complained.

"THERE ARE SUPPOSE TO BE ELEGANTS TO THEM?" Omega asked

"Lapis, honey, nothing about these traps are elegant." Rouge told her.

"Did Rosenberg make these?" Nadia asked as they begin to go around them.

"They aren't his style. But I think I know whose style they are..." Renne replied

"Um, guys. I think we have a problem." Emerald pointed as they Omega is too big to go under a few lasers.

"Omega-san are you okay?" Labrys asked.

"I AM FINE. BEGINNING TO MAKE A NEW ROUTE." Omega turn to the nearby wall and roll up his arm.

"And how are you gonna do—" Omega fired a laser beam that destroy the walls and goes in. "—That..." Emerald scratch her hair.

"Huh... You know I just thought of an idea that could work but oh well." Nemona scratch her chin.

"And what kind of idea you had in mind?" Carmine asked

"Swin, your Cerledge has Phantom Force, right?"

"Phantom Force?" Swin asked

"You know, a Ghost Type Move where it disappears and reappears for an ambush. I remember Florian use his Cerledge to make an escape with Phantom Force or ambush some escape Pokemon pouchers back in Paldea."

"I'm not sure if my Cerledge learn phantom force since it evolved."

"Well, why not check it out in your Pokdex?" Nemona suggested

"I doubt he'll—" Swin looked at his Pokedex in his ARCUS unit and tap a few buttons. "Oh... Guess he does. Along with some other interest moves."

Kaboom!

They all turn as Omega came out of the wall.

"I HAVE RETURN." He said

"Welcome back. Did you had fun?" Kammy asked

"YES."

"Omega, you're pretty powerful, aren't you?" Lapis asked

"One of the strongest out of Eggman's robots." Shadows replied

"Is Eggman your creator?"

"AFFERNATIVE. HOWEVER, I DESPISE EGGMAN." Omega answered

"Why?"

"Because Omega was sealed away by Eggman. So he's quite furious with him." Rouge answered as Kammy's ear twistch.

"Guess we got company." Kammy turn her back and Heartless called Toymakers appeared.

Toymakers appearance are wearing a work outfit with a red shirt with white sleeves and white trousers and goggles. They wear an apron that has tools of glue, screw, nails, knives. And what it his hand is a hammer.

"I got this." Neve approached with his Keyblade in hand as two Toymakers throw knives while the other pull and squeeze glue toward him.

Neve backhand the knives and then tilt his body to the left and dash to slash one Toymaker, kick the other and then cork flip and throw his keyblade to knock it away, then channel magical blue energy in his left hand as a vortez pull the Heartless into it, then encase them with ice and Neve pass through the ice with insane speed and destroy the Heartless.

"Oooh. Nice one, Mr. Iceman." Nadia clapping her hands.

"Nadia, it's like you want me to freeze you." Neve giving her the dirty look.

"Why so cold to me, Mr. Iceman?"

"Ooh, I like her." Hamaza grinned.

Swin sighed. "Knock it off, Nadia." He said until they all heard gear noises as they turn to see Criminal Crown, accompanied by Fortune Coins, and Metal Troll.

"Gah! That is not cute!" Lapis exclaim, referring to Criminal Crown. "It's super creepy!"

"It's an archaism. One of those clown series." Kammy replied.

(BGM paused)

"DESTROYING ARCHAISM." Omega readied his arms.

(Trails into Reverie ost - Wind-Up Yesterday)

"Everyone, prepare for battle." Aigis readied her arms and begin firing bullets at them as Labrys got out her battleaxe.

"Okay, Cerledge, let's do this!" Swin took out his swords

"Cer!" Cerledge took his stand.

"Take this!" Waluigi throw whip attacks and then threw bob-ombs at them as Wario dash and did a Corkscrew Conk on Criminal Clown and then grabbed its wheel and spin rapidly to knock Fortune Coins and Metal Trolls away and then toss Criminal Clown away. "Get out of here!" He yelled as the archaism crash to the wall.

Nadia throw needles onto the Fortune Coins as one of them launches a wavelength attack of black waves. Neve used Reflega to repel it back and Lapis form a cartwheel toward the cut the coin monsters and then Teddiursa Play Rough against Metal Troll. Mitsuru snapped her finger to deal a powerful blow as Neve dash forward for the finishing blow.

Aigis and Omega firing bullets and Homing Shots at Criminal Clown who spin around to avoid it and then throw spinning wheel projections at them, but Labrys deflected them and then fired a rocked arm to punch its face. She retracted her Arm as Shadow Homing Shot it and Rouge form Corkscrew kick to pass through it and then throw bombs on its back. Kammy throw boulders on it and then swirls underneath magic to knock it into the air as Hazama throw Ouroboros to capture, pull and slam it hard on the ground as he throw dark green energy snakes and bites it with an explosion.

The other Fountune Coins sent out wavelengths attack toward the group but Carmine toss her Three-section staff to them, hitting them as Sinistcha throw Matcha Gotcha and then Carmine's staff return to her as she swirl overhead and then slam down and swing attack to knock the coin monsters away and Kieran throw his Sai to stabbed to of them as he ran, grabbed and throw them to the wall. Criminal Clown spin rapidly and then throw blade projections toward the group as they each jump an dodge and Florian transform into Primeape use Close Combat and knocks the clown toward Kieran where his feet gather green energy for a flip kick to knock it to the ceiling and then he throw his Sai's imbued with green energy that multiple and stabbed.

Penny throw energy blast with Emblem Celica while Arven ran up with Nemova for a flying kick, then they both throw a punch projection and a kick slash projection as Renne swirl her scythe to imbued with purple energy and toss it into a spinning wheel to repeating slashing and then pierce through it, then reverse and slicing its back as Miraidon fired Dragon Pulse on it and destroying it.

"All right that should be it." Rouge said after Shadow throw Chaos Spear against the Fortune Coins.

"What the..." Swin looking at Florian who transform back into his human form. "Florian, did you just transform into a Pokemon?"

"It sounds like fighting. But who would be here?" Ries wondered as they kept going until they see greenish-black shadows going around the Archaism called Torturer and then a dark green slash sunder the archaism.

It has a high black collar with golden accents, with its left side extending further to cover its shoulder. He wears baggy dark purple pants, and wears dark purple boots overtop. He has black and dark turquoise gloves with gold decals and a necklace. Around his left arm, wears a white and gold sleeve with a red lining. He turn to face the group, revealing a green glowing eye mask.

"Wh-What is that?!" Lapis exclaimed.

"A Demon?" Kevin got out his Crossbell. "No... Something else."

The Figure said nothing and then walk away to the next room.

"O-Oi!" Kevin called out but the figure him.

"Was that a person?" Florian asked. "He did appear to be wearing a mask."

"Yeah... kinda like an Ogre." Kieran agreed.

"But who the heck was that though?!" Carmine asked.

"I don't sense hostility from him." Shadow said. "But that depends if he's a friend or a foe."

"Agreed. But it is advised to be cautious if we see him again." Emblem Loewe advised.

"Right. Come one. Let's follow him since he's going deeper into the studio." Rouge agreed as they headed to the next area.

"I don't see whoever that was." Swin looking around. "But there's nothing here poses much of a threat so long as you keep an eye out, but—"

"Get away from the center of the room! NOW!" Renne yelled as Wario looked up.

"Wahahahaha?!" He yelled in a panic as the ceiling was going to crash them.

"Chaos Control!" Shadow yelled as he sent a shockwave to slow down the ceiling above as Nadia, Swin, and Cerledge grabbed Teddiursa and jumped to the front while Rufus grabbed Lapis and jumped right, along with Aigis, Gallade, Neve, Omega, and Labrys. Mitsuru grabbed Fuuka and jumped to the left with Renne, Rouge, Hazama, Wario, Waluigi, Kevin, Ries, Kammy, Raven, Florian, Carmine, Kieran, Sinstcha, Hydrapple, Koraidon, Miraidon, Arven, Mabosstuff, Penny, Sylveon, Nemona, Quaquaval, and Emerald as Shadow join them afterward.

But as the ceiling falls, something suddenly shatters the ceiling to pieces, revealing a mysterious masked figure who comes to their rescue until the floor divide them, revealing passage three passage as each splits away while the mysterious figure vanishes.

"Same." Mitsuru agreed.

"That's all well and good for that crap, but now we should be wondering where are we this time." Hakuma replied. "Perhaps we should ask our entertains." He turn to his left.

"I more thought your programming resulted in certain mannerisms after the right conditions were met. How funny that I was overthinking you being a mere scaredy cat."

"Really, Rufus?" Neve fold his arms, giving him the dirty look.

"There's nothing wrong with being scared when something is scary, okay!?" Lapis complained.

"Then what can possibly instill fear in a young lady able to strike down monsters many times her size?" Rufus asked

"The thought of whatever comes next. There may be something here that really can restore my memory bank... and that frightens me."

"That's what frightens you?" Neve asked. "Isn't that supposed to be our goal, here?"

"Oh... I think I can understand." Aigis said, expressing sadness. "I believe that Lapis-san may feel that if we were able to retain her memories, there is a chance that it may not be what she expected. And it may chance who she is. Am I correct?"

"Yeah... I'm starting to wonder if it's what I wanted too." Lapis rub her arm. "And if I'm being honest, I'm amazed how much can change in a few days I've already gained so many new, fun, interesting memories after meeting you, Neve, Nadia, Swin, Renne, Emblem Loewe, Florian, Penny, Nemona, Arven, Kieran, Carmine, Shadow, Rouge, Kammy, Omega, Mitsuru, Fuuka, Aigis, Labrys, Wario, Waluigi, Raven, Emerald, Kevin, Ries, Hazama, Emblem Celica and Emblem Lief. The Dolls turn to her.

"FIRING!" Omega firing bullets onto the Dolls but they move swiftly as they charge to swing toward Rufus, Neve, Aigis, Gallade, Labys, Rufus and Omega as Aigis and Omega resume firing, Gallade throw Psycho Cut, Neve throws Ice Magic and Labrys swing her axe.

"Rufus! Neve!" Lapis cried out until the other Dolls in her down.

"Rufus! Neve!"

"Rufus! Neve!"

"Rufus! Neve!"

"Rufus! Neve!"

"Rufus! Neve!"

The Dolls piles up on Lapis.

"Lapis!" Neve yelled as he unleashed a powerful slash to knock the few dolls away. "Get out of our way!"

"I never knew there were so many copies of me... What does that make me, then? If they're also Lapis, then... does that mean even being Lapis doesn't belong to me? I... I'm..."

Rufus reach out to her with his hand

"You are Lapis."

"R-Rufus..." Lapis reach out her hand and Rufus grabbed and pull Lapis out of the pile.

"Lapis!" Neve yelled as he, Gallade, Omega, Aigis and Labrys ran to her and Rufus and knee down to check on her. "Are you okay?! Are you hurt anywhere?"

"N-No... I'm fine..." Lapis lower her head.

"Oh, thank goodness that you're okay, Lapis-san." Aigis sigh of relief.

"How... could you tell me apart Rufus?"

"Because 'you are who you are.' Or did you forget?" Rufus asked. "That applies to you as much as it does me. They can make as many identical copies as they please, and your memories may change with time, but you will still always be who you are."

"But... but...!" Lapis look up to Rufus. "I was talking about humans! Humans exist through their souls, but dolls don't have those!"

"It's just as easy to take away human's memories. What makes you so certain that we even have souls?" Rufus asked. "Where is the soul kept? Our hearts? Our minds? Does it prevade our entire bodies? The existence of a soul is but a theory. Only the gods will ever know the truth. So how can you be so sure that we possess them, and artificals lifeforms do not?"

"Are you... Are you sure?"

"He's right." Neve chin in. "How are we so different from artificial life? All life— be it organic or artificial is born from the same cycle of life and death. Everyone is their own individual. For a purpose? No. It is up to who they choose to be for that purpose. All we can do is lend our hand to one another."

"He's right, Lapis-san." Aigis nodded her head. "I, too, understood how you feel. That my life has no purpose but to exterminate Shadows. But all of that changed when I met someone very important to me, who found the answer to life. That includes my friends who are called SEE. Mitsuru-san, Fuuka-san, Akihiko-san, Ken-san, Kuromaru-san, Junpei-san, Yukari-san, and everyone I've met taught me that it doesn't matter what you are. What matters is that we are who we are as our own person. And the bonds that came with it."

"Yeah. Humans may be different, sure. But that doesn't mean they're the same. That includes you too." Labrys nodded in agreement with a smile. "Dolls can be created just the same as us Androids. But are they really the same as you and me? No. Heck, even humans can be created like that. But every person is unique. They have their own "soul" their own free will and their personality." She offer her hand. "And it up to those you forge your bonds to discover who you are... just as you discover who we are."

"AFFERNATIVE." Omega agreed. "NO ONE CAN REPLACE YOU, LAPIS ROSENBERG. YOU ARE ONE OF A KIND IN THIS WORLD. OR ANY WORLD."

"Gall." Gallade nodded in agreement. "Gallade Gall."

Lapis sniffled as her tears came out. "WAAAAAAAAH!"

The other dolls begin to imitate Lapis with her cry, but they cannot produce tears.

"I see they're not capable of producing tears. What feeble imitations." Rufus taught.

Lapis wipe her tears as she turn to the dolls. "Shut up! Shut up! SHUT UP! STOP COPYING ME! My name and my memories belong to ME, AND YOU CAN'T TAKE THEM!"

The dolls responded with a glare as they all got on their feets.

(Trails into Reverie ost - Elegance Prowess)

"It looks like now they want to fight". Neve got back on his feet and summoned his Keyblade.

Lapis brought out her axe. "Help me, everyone! Help me smash them all to bits!"

"Understood!" Aigis reload her arms and aim toward the dolls. "Reloading complete."

"Now, let's take these suckers out for good!" Labrys smirked.

"BEGIN FIRING!" Omega readied his arms.

"Gather!" Neve cast Magnega to pull the Dolls in the air.

"Firing!" Aigis firing bullet as Omega throw fireballs toward them with explosion as the other dolls readied their axes and form a cartwheel attack toward them. Labrys got in front and then swing strongly to clash with the two dolls knock them away as Lapis and Rufus ran up to them and slash them.

Two of the Lapis Dolls gracefully swing while the other one jump high to slam them, but Neve throw his Keyblade to hit them, lung and then combo slash her, grabbed and toss her to Omega who grabbed and slam her hard onto the ground. Gallade ran up to two Lapis dolls to slash them with its blade arm as they block and counter by swinging at him. But he backflips then used Sacred Sword to pass through them , then throw Psycho Cut to knock them away. Aigis pull out missiles and firing toward the dolls as each one dodge as two ran up to her and swing at her. She backflip and firing bullets and then Labrys swoop in and slam them to the ground. Labrys swirl her axe.

"Ariadne!" Labrys yelled as her Persona made its appearance and then throw binds to trapped the Lapis dolls, then Neve summon rays of light to hit on the Dolls than throw teleport around to slash each one of them then gather in the center to conjure blizzard to form a tornados to pull some of the dolls in, freeze them.

Omega aim and firing his laser cannons onto the walls as Rufus thrust and slash a couple of dolls while Lapis imbued her axe with power and then toss it into a forming wheel to slash a couple of dolls. The Axe was remotely control to slash and pass by them and Lapis reach her hand to grabbed and then rotate her body for a slam, sending surge of power to burst on the dolls.

The Lapis dolls throw a cleaver attack toward Rufus and Lapis as they didge, roll around and then one doll jump and cartwheel down to slam into Lapis but she ddoge and then she slash through them as Omega ran up and punch and kick a couple of them away.

"ACTIVATING PLAZMA CANNON." Omega's claws retract and charge of energy and fired devastating beams on the Lapis dolls and Neve flew into the air and then swirl his Keyblade high and rain down snow to bombard the Dolls and then spin gracefully to channel wind magic to pull the snow with the dolls with it and then freeze them in ice as Neve summon icicles around and impale the tornados with the dolls in a icy explosion.

Two Lapis Dolls jump to attack him but Gallde knock them away with Psycho Cut and then ran up to throw combo slashes, kicks and then punch them away as Labrys swoop in and pass through them with a wide slash and Aigis finish them up by firing missiles.

And with that, the dolls are destroyed.

"Hmph!" Lapis put her axe away. "That ought to teach you to challenge the real Lapis Rosenberg!"

"See?" Rufus chuckled. "Their appearance was the only thing you had in common."

Omega approaches the dolls and then look down.

"ANALYZE COMPLETE. THESE DOLLS CLOSELY IDENTICAL TO THE TECHNOLOGY TO THAT OF THE SOCIETY'S ARCHAISM." Omega reported "NO TRACES OF DR. EGGMAN IS INVOLVE."

"Rosenberg Studio is indeed part of their thirteen factories... but I find it difficult to believe a meister of his craft like Rosenberg would claim such slovenly work. What do the rest of you think?" Rufus asked

"They are indeed an imitation of the real Lapis Rosenberg... no... of Meister's work." Aigis said. "I can only assume that this Six Anguis of Ouroboros that Renne realized that this studio is taken over is by his hand."

"So that means this scumbag set this whole thing up." Labrys growled.

"But it also means the construction imitation means the original data must also be here." Neve pointed out as he turn to the doll. "And further I presume."

Swin dash toward Emperor to slash him, only for him to block with his scepter and then knock Swin away with gravity. Nadia throw needles and then throw Orbal Arts: Flare Butterfly at him. Emperor conjured rocks to form a shield around him and then throw them at Swin and Nadia as they split up, but ended up hitting Teddirusa and Cerledge

"Cer/Teeed!" They winched

"Cerledge! Teddiursa!" Swin yelled

"Feeling control for your pocket monsters?" Emperor teleported in front of Swin to slash him with his energy blade but he block it.

Nadia throws needles into homing shots but the Empeor uses Gravity to send them away as Nadia cartwheels to her left and throw wires to slash him. Emperor dash toward Nadia and swings at her, but she dodges and then counters with Steel Wires to bind him, but Emperor swiftly moves back and then throws gravity projections at her. Nadia dodges his attack as Swin sends slash projections. Emperor backflips and then firing gravity orbs at Swim. He slashes to sunder them as they explode. Then he lunged to slash Emperor. He black and parried, but Swin predicted this as he formed X slashes and pushed the Emperor back.

Emperor growled as Nadia throw Nemesis Arrow at him. Emperor dodges it but Swin dash and then combo slash him and then ace kicks him and then kicks his stomach to push him as Nadia throw many needles to pass through and then binds him with steel wires and slashes around him. Emperor raises his scepter form an energy blade and , dash toward Nadia and slash her.

"Angh!" She winched as he slid.

Emperor raises his orb to channel energy to summon a vortez and then launch it to Nadia. Swin throw a slash projection to intercept and then Emperor turn his attention to him and lung at him to slash him. They swing at each other until Emperor pin Swin down with gravity and kick him and summon a black hole to pull him and exploded on him.

"Augh!" He winched as he roll on the floor but he got back on his feet and glared.

Nadia throws needles but the Emperor dodges and deflects them until Nadia throw them into the air and form them remotely into patterns to surround and pull them as wires pierces through Emperor's defense, dealing slashes as Swin passes around, leaving trails of slashes, and then he connect his blades to channel energy forming slash marks and then finish it off with slash projection that knocks away the Emperor.

Swin sent out slash projections as the Empeor dodged and countered with throwing projections attack, then raise his orb to strength gravity, but Nadia throw needles and impaled the leg.

"Augh...!" He winched and Swin using all the strength to push through the gravity knocked the Emperor away by combo slashing him and then swing heavily to knock him away and cancelling the gravity's power, allowing Cerledge and Teddiursa to move again. "Hmph. I see you've gained strength since our last battle."

"Yeah, well, that's what happens when you have to keep fighting off the organization's goons." Swin replied.

Emperor sighed. "What a shame that the finest materials a craftsman could dream up must be buried here. Oh, well. I'm sure I will find replace—."

"That's right!" Florian transforms into Lucario and then uses Extreme Speed to kick Emperor's face to knock him away.

Even if I must break my agreement to protect them from the like of you!"

"Well, you heard him. I shall be on my way." Novartis wrap his arms behind his back. "Oh, but what you're looking for just so happens to be on the other side of those doors." He turn to the door. "Seeing as I'm looking after Meister Rosenberg's studio in his absence, I would be a poor sport if I didn't point you in the right direction."

"Did he ask you to 'look after all' all these renovations you made, too?" Renne asked, giving a doubtful look.

"I've never seen machines like this in my life." Swin replied

"I remember seeing similar machines like this before in the Black Workshop." Rogue said. "Now all we got to do is operate it."

"Then leave this to Renne, Penny, Fuuka," Emblem Loewe advised. "If the data we want is still here, I'm sure they can restore it."

"Right. Though to do that..." Renne turn to Lapis.

I've been observing you ever since you step foot in Crossbell to see if you are another threat. But it seems that you are searching for the truth that cause this chaos. For example, the imposters, the great disturbance in the Septium Veins, and the events behind the scene. I fear the world will be in jeopardy. I wish to prevent that." The Mask figure turn to Lapis. "And if she's the key that can solve this, then I will lend you my aid. We cannot allow her to be destroyed or seize under any circumstances."

"I agree. But you mention a great disturnabce with the spirit veins. I assume something is indeed happening behind the scenes?"

"Indeed." The figure nodded. "A large among of power from the Septium Vein is being pull somewhere in Crossbell. There is also that disturbing presence that happen recently."

"A disturbing presence you say?" Neve asked. "Actually... come to think of it, I thought I felt something..."

"What's this disturbing presence?" Shadow asked

"I do not know. But its presence will bring ruin to the world."

"Hmm... I see..." Rufus rub his chin.

"You do not need to answer my request and discuss with your allies if you needed. I shall take my leave. But be cautious." He then disappeared.

Rufus Act 3 is complete! Sorry for the hold up everyone. To answer Guest's question involving Rean resonance phenomenon. No. Unlike the canon where Ishmelga Rean wanted to assimilate with Rean due to the fact he's from the Bad ending from CS4, and wanted Rean to sacrifice himself to take out Ishmelga again into the atmosphere.

Chaos Rean is his own individual, Not a fusion like Ishemlga Rean from an alternative reality on a what-if. The only "connection" he has with Rean is because back in the Paperverse, he was chosen to be a vessel for the Chaos Heart and took over his body, and inherited every fiber of his being. His memories, his feelings, his appearance, but Dimentio granted him a conscious crafted by his own magic to serve him. Were he not, Chaos Rean would be the new "Rean" but a person of destruction power who is fear, even to himself and be sealed away, along with Rean Schwarzer and Dimentio would have to start all over again.
