Broken trust

She was asleep in her bed with moonlight shining down on her through the open window.

Suddenly, the Equalist broke through the window, and two more burst through the door, shattering both. She leapt off the bed and fought back. They all leapt out of the way of the flame and spread out, surrounding her. While two distracted her, making her throw furious bursts of fire at them, one got in close and jabbed several points on her side.

Losing all feelings in her body, she fell to her knees. Hearing footsteps coming closer and closer, she looked up and saw with horror that Amon stood there before her.

"After I take your bending away, you will be nothing," his hand stretched out to her face. There was nothing she could do.

Korra shouted, still in her bed. It was just a nightmare, but it was so real to her.

"It's...it's all right, Naga," she told the polar bear dog as she put her head in her lap. "I just had a bad dream." She petted Naga's head to ease her fear and worries.

It's already been a week since the revelation, and a lot of things can change in just a week, one of them. Is that the Sato Mobile racing event was a huge success as everyone in the republic city liked it, especially the non-benders able to compete in something that doesn't require bending.

In truth, the none-benders always envy pro-bending as they can't compete in something like a competition and now have a chance to prove themselves once.

But of course not everyone was happy. The benders community, especially the pro benders, felt like a bane on their pro bending tournaments and way of life. They felt threatened that racing would disrupt their status quo as the official sport in the world.

Second, Tenzin was discussing the situation about Amon with the council in Republic City, and Tarlok suggested creating a task force to apprehend any equalist that is working under Amon, but Tenzin rejected the idea as it would make the none-benders and benders divided. They were already at the breaking point of a riot happening.

It got them on edge when Amon hijacked the radio that Korra heard; it scared her. Knowing one man is able to take someone bending with ease.

And finally, third Mako met Asami by accident, and it was love at first sight. None much; it was just boy meets girl, almost like those Japanese manga where the girl bumps into a boy by accident.

Air Temple Island

Korra and Minato sat by one another at the table. It was already time for dinner as they got ready to eat.

"I'm not interrupting, am I?" Tarrlok interrupted from where he stood at the entrance to the dining room.

"This is my home, Tarrlok," Tenzin told him as he walked in, standing up from his seat. "We're about to eat dinner."

"Good, because I am absolutely famished. Airbenders never turn away a hungry guest, am I right?"

"I suppose," Tenzin conceded with a defeated sigh, sitting back down. Tension was high at the dinner table.

Tarrlok walked over to the other side of the table, where the two non-air acolytes were sitting. "Ah, you must be the famous Avatar Korra," he greets the infamous Avatar. "It is truly an honor." He turned his gaze on Minato. "And Minato Arisato, I heard you being the avatar childhood friend and unofficial bodyguard.

"I prefer the term best friends that look out for each other." Minato was on edge; he didn't know why, as Tarlok reminded him of someone who had good nature but was good at hiding what was underneath that mask.

"Well, allow me to reintroduce myself." He bowed slightly with a hand on his heart. "I am Councilman Tarrlok, representative of the Northern Water Tribe."

"Nice to meet you," Korra said, greeting him, standing up, and bowing to him. They sat down together, with Minato also greeting him out of courtesy.

Tarrlok, who sat down right next to Ikki, began asking questions, "Why do you have three ponytails? And how come you smell like a lady? You're weird."

"Well, aren't you... precocious"

"Ikki, you know the rules; we don't ask too many questions when eating," Minato said.

"I was just asking," she pouted.

"So," Tarlok said, looking at Korra. "I've been reading about your adventures in the papers. Infiltrating Amon's rally, now that took some real initiative."

"She wasn't the only one who went there," Minato said to him; it was like his third wheel.

He gave the bluenette a look. "While I am sure that you were there too, I believe it is safe to say that she pulled most of the weight in that action. It wouldn't do well to put yourself on a higher pedestal than where you actually are, Mr. Arisato." He smiled as he spoke, but it was obvious that was an insult.

"Thanks, by the way," Korra said, breaking what she felt was the beginning of a tense and awkward silence. "I think you're the first authority figure in the city who's happy I'm here."

"II agree. Granted that the only other authority figures we had met were Tenzin and Chief Beifong, but it still counted." Minato

"Ah yes, Chief Beifong's mother was the first metal bender that created the police academy for law enforcement to safe guard Republic City. She's quite a legend like Avatar Ang."

"Even it's not enough to keep the people safe from triads and corruption" within the city, Minato sarcastically said.

"That is why Republic City is much better off now that you've arrived," he assured Korra.

"Enough with the flattery, Tarrlok." "What do you want from Korra?" Tenzin was already getting tired of his mind games.

"Patience, Tenzin. I'm getting to that. As you may have heard, I am assembling a taskforce that will strike at the heart of the revolution, and I want you to join me."

"Really?" she asked.

"What?!" Tenzin, not expecting that.

"I need someone who will help me attack Amon directly, someone who is fearless in the face of danger," Tarrlok told Korra. "And that someone is you."

"Join your taskforce?" she repeated. She was surprised to hear such an offer for her. "I can't."

Her answer caught Tarrlok, Tenzin, and even Minato by surprise. They had all thought that she would accept such an offer in a heartbeat, especially since Tenzin and Minato knew her personality.

"I must admit I'm rather surprised." "I thought you'd jump at the chance to help me lead the charge against Amon." The council tribesman didn't expect such a reply from the avatar.

"Me too." Tenzin knew Korra was the kind of person to jump right into things the moment they presented themselves. But at the moment, she seemed hesitant. Something was going on with her.

"I came to Republic City to finish my Avatar training with Tenzin.". "Right now, I just need to focus on that." Korra explained.

"Which is why this opportunity is perfect?" "You would get on-the-job experience while performing your Avatar duty to the city," he insisted.

Minato felt like something was really wrong with Korra.

"It's time for you to go, Tarrlok," Tenzin said to his fellow councilmen as he had had enough.

The tribesman looked at Airbender with a brief glance and raised a hand in surrender. "Very well," he conceded as he stood up from the table. "But I'm not giving up on you just yet." "You'll be hearing from me soon. It has been a pleasure, Avatar Korra." He bowed to her again before leaving.

"Bye-bye, ponytail man!" called out Ikki as he left the room.

"Oh dear."

"What is it, Pema?" Tenzin asked her.

"That man comes into my home saying that he is famished and doesn't even eat a single piece of the meal. That is really rude of him."

Mako stood in front of probably the fanciest restaurant in Republic City; he felt really out of his league. He had been greeted by a waiter who had addressed him as "Master Mako" and led him into a side room.

In that room, he had been given new clothes, and his hair had been tamed. Within a few short minutes, he looked like a young gentleman who could fit in high society.

There he met Asami again at the dinner table as they made small talk about pro bending and the championship until a waiter called her Miss Sato.

"Miss Sato? You wouldn't happen to be related to Hiroshi Sato, creator of the Satomobile?"

"Yeah," "He's my dad."

"Get out of town!"

"I'm serious," "You wanna meet him?"

"Meet the most successful captain of industry in all of Republic City." "Yeah, I'll take you up on that."

"Okay then. Shall we eat?"

"Yeah, let's," he answered with a smile.

After dinner was over, Tenzin wanted to have a talk with Kora's childhood friend. "Minato, we need to talk."

Both of them were somewhere quiet and far from prying eyes and ears.

"Have you noticed something strange with Korra in the past week?" Tenzin asked.

"Yeah, I notice for one she's diligent with her training, which is so out of character she didn't even complain or talk to me at all." Minato was worried she didn't even want to go practice pro bending.

"Especially when Korra rejected the Tarlok offer. Knowing Korra she would have taken such an opportunity even though I would have said no to her."

"I think it must have something to do with Amon," Minato thinks of a reason.

"When Amon took Zolt, Bending Korra felt fear for the first time. Is that right?" Tenzin asked for confirmation.

"Yes" Minato sighed and decided to tell, "Look Tenzin." I know we benders feel like bending isn't something we care about, but they are those jealous and fearful benders. The pro-bending tournament is one of them, as only benders can participate and the others can't do anything but act as water boys."

Hearing this, Tenzin didn't expect it but knew he had already seen the corruption within the city, and a lot of non-benders were exploited by triads and the upper class.

Minato continues "The caste system and the law enforcement focus on earth benders is one of the problems. My friend Mako was killed by a firebender; because of that, they became street orphans, and triads recruited them for the sake of surviving."

"Oh my, I didn't know."

"No, it's not you didn't know Tenzin, you have too much focus on your politics and responsibility as the last remaining airbender and family; it's too much for one person to do everything."

Tenzin can't refute knowing it's true. He and his family are the only airbenders left in the world. And the burden to maintain what culture is left.

"So that reason you work in future industries is to help."

"Probably I felt like it could help the city and the world for the better, that includes Korra; she doesn't need to feel responsible for everything. I wanted to lighten her load that she's not alone."

Tenzin made a small smile. "Maybe there's a reason you're here to help Korra, just in a different way. The more he gets to know Minato, the more he can trust him.

"Hello, fellow teammate!" Bolin called out to Korra as he walked towards them with Pabu on his shoulder.

"Hey Bolin." She was sitting next to Naga on some steps leading into one of the buildings. Naga was currently on her back and having her stomach rubbed.

"Missed you at practice this week."

"Sorry about that."

"Nah, it's alright." "We're probably out of the tournament anyway, unless some money miraculously drops out of the sky tomorrow. He said it in a sober tone.

"Anyways, the reason I came here was to give Korra this." He held out a cupcake in a plastic bag and a rose. "Ta-da!"

"Wow, thanks," Korra said, taking the gift from him. She was surprised. "What's this for?"

He turned away slightly and rubbed his chin. "Uh, oh, I can't remember now. Oh yeah, now I remember. You saved me from Amon!"

"Oh, that? It was no big deal."

"No big deal, are you serious?" "I was totally freaking out when he was coming at him with his creepy mask and all, 'I will take away your bending forever.'" He imitated Amon's voice. "I mean, that... is scary stuff. I still can't sleep well."

"Delivery for Avatar Korra," someone announced out of the blue. All heads turned to see a large mound of gifts coming towards them. The gift basket was placed down, revealing a man in a uniform had been carrying it. "Tarrlok sends his compliments and urges you to reconsider his offer," he said to Avatar Korra, offering her a bow.

"Tell him I haven't changed my mind," she said back.

"Who's this Tarrlok guy?" Bolin demanded. "Is he bothering you? Huh? 'Cause I can have a word with him." He punched his fist into his other hand.

Korra chuckled. "No, it's not like that. He's just some old guy who works with Tenzin on the council."

"Oh good, good, that sounds better. I like that better."

The next day

There were hundreds of assembly lines working on Satomobiles all around him, and they were all being sent out to be sold. "What do you think of my little operation here?" Asami's father asked Mako

"It's very impressive, Mr. Sato," Mako answered honestly.

"Please call me Hiroshi." "So, I understand you're dirt poor."

Mako had been a little more than caught off guard by the blunt statement. "Young man, it is nothing to be ashamed of. I too came from humble beginnings. Why, when I was your age, I was a mere shoe-shiner, and all I had to my name was an idea: the Satomobile. Now, I was fortunate enough to meet someone who believed in me and my work ethic. He gave me the money I needed to get my idea off the ground, calling it a favor I could owe him, and I built the entire Future Industries empire from that one selfless loan." He looked out at the assembly lines as he finished his speech.

His daughter chided him, "Dad, stop bragging." "Just tell Mako the good news." He chuckled and turned back to face their guest.

"What good news?" Mako asked them

"Well, my daughter passionately told me all about your hard-earned success in the pro-bending arena. And about your team's current financial stumbling block," Hiroshi said, putting a fatherly hand on his shoulder. "Now I'd hate to see you lose your chance at winning the memorial championship just because you're short a few yuans. That's why I'm going to sponsor the Fire Ferrets in the tournament."

"Are you serious?" Mako couldn't believe what he heard—that Mr. Sato wanted to sponsor the firefighters.

"He's serious." "My dad's going to cover your ante for the championship pot."

"Tha, that is good news!"

"There's just one catch." "You all have to wear the Future Industries logo on your uniform." Hiroshi told him.

"I'll tattoo it on my chest if you want to, sir," he answered, tapping his chest, making both father and daughter laugh. "Thank you so much." "I promise the Fire Ferrets will make the most of this opportunity."

"Hiroshi I think I got an idea that might—"Mako, what are you doing here?" Minato was surprised to see Mako here, especially somewhere civilians aren't allowed to come in.

"Doing here, what are you doing here?" Even the firebender was surprised to see Minato.

"I work here as Hiroshi's confidant and advisor. I give him ideas to help both Republic City and future industries."

"Wait, you know each other?" Asami was surprised, but then again, she never asked Minato about his personal life.

Minato might as well confess, "Yes, Avatar Korra is one of the fire ferrets, and me is her childhood friend."

"So you are friends with the Avatar but didn't tell me." There was a small hint of betrayal and anger.

"I apologize Asami. Korra doesn't like people looking at her because of her title, including me. I have always been called the Avatar unofficial bodyguard and friend; you have no idea how people only look at me as the avatar friend.

"I understand, sorry, I overreacted." Asami could understand what Minato felt—that everyone in Republic City only looks at her as Ms. Sato but not Asami; that's why she's having a hard time finding real friends.

"So what's this idea?" Hiroshi decided to intervene to avoid awkwardness and wanted to know.

"Seeing the metal benders and metal cable devices, I thought, What if we created something similar for none benders so that they could work along with law enforcement in the city as equals?"

"Go on," Hiroshi liked the idea.

"Here's the design that I think is called ODM Omni-directional Mobility Gear, as Minato explained it's

Function Hand grips

Piston-shot grapple hooks

Gas-powered mechanism

Iron wire propeller with shock sticks

"I like it, and if it works, none-benders can become law enforcement, making Republic City much safer," Hiroshi could see the implication of the device.

"Thank you" as they continue about the training and who they could use and materials while Mako looks dumbfounded.

'Don't worry about them, they're always like that.

"I understand and thank you again for your generosity, Asami." Mako looks at Asami like a goddess.

"It's my pleasure, Mako."

Tenzin was looking at the Tarlok gift as it was getting fancier as this time it was a sato mobile. But it was not the gift; he was worried, but Korra, ever since that day. The revelation was that Korra was stuck on Air Temple Island in fear. Tenzin did try to have the talk, but Korra brushed aside that she was fine and he couldn't force her.

Her patience was at an end with this guy. He had come to the island multiple times bearing gifts from Tarrlok. "It doesn't matter how many gifts Tarrlok sends." "I am not joining his task force!" She bent the earth he was standing on around so that he was facing the other way.

But as she turned around to walk away, he called him again. "It's not a gift, it's an invitation." He pulled out an envelope from his vest.

"To what?" she asked, surprised.

"Tarrlok is throwing a gala in your honor," he explained as she took the envelope from him. "All of Republic City's movers and shakers will be there. The councilman humbly requests your attendance."

It sounded kind of interesting, as she had never attended a gala before. "Fine, tell Tarrlok I'll be there." "And tell him I'll be with Tenzin and his family."

"Of course, Avatar Korra."

City Hall is the perfect place to hold a gala where the rich, famous, and important figures gather and discuss politics and other things.

Korra hadn't really been planning on attending galas in Republic City; the dress she was wearing was dark blue with touches of white around the collar, belt, and the lower part of the dress. It was a modest thing, and she actually felt quite comfortable in it.

The minute Korra Minato and Tenzin and his family stepped into the hall, the people already in there began to applaud her. "I can't believe this is all for me," Korra said to Tenzin quietly.

"I can't believe he has all the money to throw a party for you," Minato sarcastically said.

The airbending master was dressed in his finest, and so was his family of air nomads, but can be described as modesty in everyone's eyes. "I'm not sure what Tarrlok's plotting, but keep your guard up." "It's not like him throwing a party just for the fun of it."

Tarrlok came out of the crowd in probably one of his best suits. "So glad you could make it, Avatar Korra," he said with a grand voice. His eyes found Tenzin and Minato. "If you'll excuse us, the city awaits its hero," he told the two of them to back off.

As Tarlok and Korra walked off, Minato leaned in closer to Tenzin. "Why did you think his plan I doubt was to show off?" He asked in a whisper.

Tenzin whispered back. "Tarrlok was smart, Minato." "He made sure to include your name on Korra's invitation. You are her closest friend, and I'm sure he wants her to be as comfortable as possible before springing the trap he's got planned."

"I doubt it was just that I'm sure that he had me invited just so people could have a chance to look and stare at me for being the Avatar unofficial bodyguard, a none-bending bodyguard." It was already heard among the white lotus that a bender should be appointed as the avatar bodyguard and distrust towards him, but like always, Minato doesn't care.

"Sometimes I admire your stoic nature."

Minato's eyes roamed around the hall until he saw Meelo doing something he probably shouldn't be doing. "Uh, Tenzin…?"

The Air Nomad turned his head and went purple at the sight. "Meelo, no!" he shouted at his son as people started to look. "That is not a toilet! Oh dear."

"Korra, it's my pleasure to introduce Republic City's most famous industrialist, Hiroshi Sato," the councilman introduced the two.

"Nice to meet you," Korra greets him.

He bowed his head. "We're all expecting great things from you."

"Right, greatness," she replied, saying that last word with a touch of sadness and worry.

"Hey, Korra," Minato appeared by her side. Looking worried as this would be her first time dealing with the higher class.

"Hey, Minato," she was glad her childhood friend was here.

"Enjoy the gala, Mr. Hiroshi." Minato greeted his boss

" Yes ,I just didn't expect that you were invited."

"Hey, Korra!" Mako called her as he, Bolin, and a girl came to stand beside Mr. Sato. Both he and Bolin were dressed up as well. The girl on his arm, however, made her jealous instantly. It didn't help that she was quite beautiful.

"This is my daughter, Asami," Mr. Sato introduced

"It's lovely to meet you." Mako told me so much about you," she said to Korra.

"Really? Because he hasn't mentioned you at all."

"Korra, be nice," Minato told her, pressing his elbow against her side.

"Ah, Mr. and Miss Sato, I would like you to meet Minato Arisato," Tarrlok introduced the bluenette to them.

"Don't worry, I know Minato Arisato works with me; it's just a surprise that you know the Avatar that closes Minato," Hiroshi asked.

"I just slip my mind aside; I prefer my own action to speak, not using someone else's name to gain favorites," Minato said.

"That I agree only a person can achieve with their own hands could make a better world," Hiroshi declared, but did not mention bending.

"So, how did you two meet?" Korra asked Mako and Asami, still focused on them.

Bolin was the one to give her that answer, appearing beside her in an instant. "Asami crashed into him on his moped," he told her before vanishing from her side in an instant. Which is weird.

"What? Are you okay?" she asked Mako, concerned.

He answered with a smile. "I'm fine. More than fine." "Mr. Sato agreed to sponsor our team; we're back in the tournament!"

"Isn't that great?" Bolin asked her excitedly as he latched onto his brother's shoulder.

"Yeah, terrific," she answered without any emotion at all.

Then suddenly another familiar voice was heard, and loud at the same time. "Hello, Minato, it is good to see you here!"

"Nice to see you too, Varrick and Zhu Li." Minto didn't expect to see the Southern Water Tribe businessman and Zhu Li his assistant.

"Varrick I'm surprised you came to the gala." Hiroshi was talking to another businessman and knew who he was. The man was Iknik Blackstone. Varrick, or Varrick for short, of Varrick Global Industries is known for his innovators in both technology and consumer goods.

"Technically, I didn't have any reason to come, but when I found out Minato was here, I decided to visit him before going back to the south."

"You two know each other?" Hiroshi asked

"Knew each other; he was the one that gave the idea of the refrigeration system that allows us to put food cold and last longer, thus avoiding spoilage. You have no idea that saving a lot of food products from spoiling and smelling like rotten guts".

"Nice to see you haven't changed a bit about Zhu Li; how are you doing?" Minato asked in concern.

"Thank you for the concern, but I'm a capable woman, and thank you for the tea as it helps calm me from the stress.

"Chief Beifong," Tarrlok called out to the chief of police as she passed by, getting her attention and making her come over to their little group. "I believe you and Avatar Korra have already met."

"Just because the city's throwing you this big to-do, don't think you're anything special." Then she left.

"Wow, talk about a bad mood." What crawled her?" Varrick said.

The group splintered off and joined the crowd as well, moving the gala on. Korra was standing on the flight of stairs that led up to the council room with Tarrlok by her side.

The reporters also saw this. They flocked to the bottom of the stairs, shouting questions and taking pictures. "If you would be so kind," Tarrlok said to Korra. "They just have a few questions."

"But—" she tried to protest, only to have Tarrlok push her forward to the reporters.

Lights were flashing in her eyes, almost blinding her. "Avatar Korra, you witnessed Amon take away people's bending firsthand. How serious a threat does he pose to the innocent citizens of Republic City?" one of the reporters asked her.

She cleared her throat before speaking. "I think he presents a real problem."

Another reporter asked her, "Then why have you refused to join Tarrlok's taskforce?". "As the Avatar, shouldn't you be going after Amon?"

"Well, I—"

"Why are you backing away from this fight?"

. "What? No! I've never backed away from anything in my life!"

"You promised to serve this city; aren't you going back on that promise now?" a third reporter asked.

"Do you think pro-bending is more important than fighting the revolution?" a fourth asked.

"How do you think Avatar Aang would have handled this?" a fifth asked.

She felt like she was being swarmed by all the questions, and she didn't know how to answer them. Her breaking point came when a reporter asked, "Are you afraid of Amon?"

"I am not afraid of anybody!" she yelled, making them all stop asking questions. "If the city needs me then..." She gestured back to Tarrlok. "I'll join Tarrlok's taskforce and help fight Amon."

"There's your headline, folks!" Tarrlok declared. The camera people saw that and immediately began snapping photos. In the crowd, Mako and Bolin looked at one another with confusion in their eyes; Tenzin simply closed his eyes, knowing full well that Korra had been trapped.

Minato was pinching his nose, hoping that Korra wouldn't join the Task Force.

It can be said that Korra's first raid was a success under Tralok's guidance, but she didn't feel satisfied, and her fear of Amon just intensified. Not only that, she even missed practice with the fire ferrets and Mako went on a date with Asami.

But all of that wasn't the worst she was going to do. "You wanna know why?" Korra asked, coming up to the podium and the microphone on it. "Because Amon is hiding in the shadows like a coward," "Amon, I challenge you to a duel, no taskforce, no chi-blockers, just the two of us tonight at midnight on Avatar Aang Memorial Island. Let's cut to the chase and settle this thing if you're man enough to face me.

XXX

Korra was already fast walking to the boat, ready to duel with Amon, but Minato grabbed her hand, making her stop. "Korra stop this is madness and not like you at all!".

"Don't try to stop me and don't follow me. I have to face Amon alone."

Both adults were watching the drama. Tenzin turned to look at Tarrlok. "This is all you're doing!" he accused the tribesman.

"I tried to talk her out of it too," raising his hands slightly in protest. "But she's made up her mind."

As they argued, Minato tried to stop her from doing something stupid.

"Korra, this isn't the answer. I know you're scared and your responsibility as an avatar, knowing what makes you special is erased, but this isn't right facing him head-on like a dragon moose."

"Let go of me!"

"Listen to me! You're scared, but facing your fear like this is too reckless; it won't make you better."

"I said, Let go!" as she blasted a fire at her childhood friend out of anger and fear; it hit him as Minato was sent flying. Tenzin stopped arguing with Tarlok and quickly blew the flames away. Minato got a slight burn, but it wasn't what he was upset about—the part that Korra just blasted him with fire that he was upset about.

"Fine, like I care." Minato, simply walked away.

Korra, for the first time ever, felt like her heart was being hit by a hammer. As she didn't mean to hurt Minato, she knew she wanted to help him, but she didn't want to admit that he was right. Her pride and responsibility outweighed everything.

"Korra," even Tenzin didn't know what to say as everyone was quiet.

Korra just went to the boat towards her duel.

Nobody notices anything that Korra blast would have burned Minato like Zuko, but something emerges for a second and protects him, unknown to anyone's eye sight.

She arrived and ran to the top of the building on the island. There, at the base of Avatar Aang, she waited.

Her nerves were all bundled up, and she was restless, inching towards a fight. But in that moment, it felt like she was the only thing that was alive, and that just made her even more restless. A small sound to her left made her turn quickly into a stance, ready for a fight.

It was time for a duel. As the bell struck midnight

Her feet were yanked from under her, sending her to the ground with a rope wrapped around her legs.

Korra broke free of her bindings easily, spinning them off with a kick and a burst of fire. The fire illuminated the room; she was surrounded by equalists, enclosing her in a circle.

Her arms were restrained by bolas. She used her feet to throw more fire, then she was struck in the back, making her groan in pain and fall unconscious.

Amon appeared before her; her body froze up. "I received your invitation, young Avatar."

He stretched out his hand and was about to touch her; she bent her head and closed her eyes, afraid of what was going to come next.

But instead, the hand took her chin and forced her to look up at him. "Our showdown, while inevitable, is premature." "Although it would be the simplest thing for me to take away your bending right now, I won't. You'd only become a martyr."

Benders of every nation would rally behind your untimely demise. But I assure you, I have a plan. And I'm saving you for last. Then you'll get your duel, and I will destroy you."

As the equalist left, Korra saw a vision and Ang and other things.

"Korra!" Tenzin called her. "Korra, are you alright?" he asked as he pulled her up from the ground. "What happened? Was Amon here?"

"Yeah, he ambushed us," she answered.

"Did he…did he take your bending away?"

She opened her hand and tried bending a flame to appear. "No, I'm okay."

"Thank goodness," he said, relieved.

. Tears came flooding out of her eyes, and she cried openly as she reached out and grabbed hold of Tenzin. "I was so terrified," she confessed, tears still falling. "I felt so helpless."

"It's all right," he told her, putting a comforting hand on her back. "The nightmare is over."

"You...you were right. I've been scared this whole time. I've never felt like this before, and... and Tenzin, I don't know what to do!" Seeking comfort, she clutched him again.

"Admitting your fears is the first and most difficult step in overcoming them," he told her. While she continued crying.

Korra was at the front door to Minato room. Usually girls aren't allowed to enter the boys' dorm, but it was important as she knocked three times. "Can I come in?"

"Doors open."

Korra went inside and saw her childhood friend sleeping, not facing her at all, knowing Minato was both angry and upset with her.

"He didn't take my bending away."

"…."

" Minato. I'm sorry, you were correct. I was terrified, thinking that by facing Amon, I would be able to make it go away the anxiety feeling ripping at my soul, knowing that my bending would be taken away, a part of my uniqueness, and the notion of it frightened me. I knew what I did was inexcusable; you were my buddy, and I violated that trust by hurting you if you refused to talk to me. "I understand." Korra accepts her mistakes.

Minato stood up and said, "I forgive Korra, you admit wrong, and apologizing is the first step to being a good friend."

Few tears leak from her eyes. "Thank you, and I will try not to break that trust again."

"I know, so get some sleep; you need it," Minato advised.

Korra was fidgeting with her thumbs, embarrassed to say something.

"Korra, what's wrong?"

"Can I sleep with you, please?"

Minato just sighs, knowing she was traumatized and looking for comfort. "Just for tonight, if Tenzin asked, you snuck in."

"Thank you" As Korra quickly climbed into bed, she hugged Mintro like a safety blanket.

"What am I going to do with you?" He just smiles and sleeps.

Personas of The Empres Arcana…

Why is Korra the Empress Arcana? In Tarot readings, the Empress represents mothers, prosperity, creativity, sexuality, abundance, fertility, protection, and comfort (most often in helping maintain peace around them like an ideal mother would).

They are usually important female figures, and many are queens and mother goddesses of some sort. As an Avatar, she has the responsibility to both protect and bring balance to the world.

I gave the idea attack on Titan gear seeing the Metal Benders have similar gear, so why not? For something equal.

The idea that quirks and bending are similar to those with power abuses the lower and none benders.

The chapter is short because too much with romance stuff and other. The only thing I didn't like was that Roamance was started too early and triangle love was too much. It should have started slowly, like the last airbender.
