The next morning Starscream was woken up by Lightning Blaze who had somehow gotten out of her crib, After Windblade had gone home the seeker had tucked the baby predacon in before heading to bed himself.
"Stars!" Lightning Blaze kept repeating happily and the seeker couldn't help but smile at how cute she was.
"Good morning but how did you get out of your crib or onto my berth for that matter?" Starscream asked now confused because Lightning Blaze was still too small to climb out of her crib or onto his berth.
Then as if to answer his question she started flapping her wings and hovered into the air a bit before she fell back down as he quickly caught her.
"Wow first you said your first word last night and now you're already trying to fly you're so smart." Starscream complimented his daughter as he held and gently hugged her. "But please don't grow up too fast."
Then upon looking around Starscream was relieved to see that she hadn't gotten into anything and had only come from her room to his and apparently could only hover for a short distance just enough to get out of her crib or onto a berth or chair, And couldn't full on fly yet it would still be a bit hard to keep her out of things so they would have to start baby proofing the shelves, cabinets and windows to make sure she would get hurt on anything.
So the seeker took Lightning Blaze and got her some breakfast because she was hungry which was why she had woken him up, Because Knock Out usually fed her breakfast.
Then Starscream looked at the clock and saw what time it was and that Knock Out should have been back by now but saw that his room was still empty and the front and back doors were still locked so called the hospital to see if he had to work overtime or something but it wasn't like Knock Out not to call if something like that happened, Now Starscream was concerned.
"Hello is Knock Out still at work I don't think he ever came home last night?" Starscream asked Ratchet who picked up.
"No in fact I was about to called you guys to ask if he forgot to clock out when his shift ended or wait for First Aid to take over." Ratchet explained and now him and Starscream were both worried.
"I'll get Mom to watch Lightning and be right there." Starscream said as he hung up then took Lightning Blaze to her Grandma's house before heading to the hospital to try to find out what was going on and what happened to Knock Out.
Once there Starscream was greeted by Ratchet who had called the other Autobots there to help look for Knock Out and everyone because worried when they found evidence of a struggle in the form of scuff marks on the ground.
Pharma who was also at the hospital pretended to be worried as well but was fighting back a smirk knowing exactly where Knock Out was and thinking about how to take care of Starscream and Lighting Blaze knowing the red medic wouldn't be a problem anymore.
Everyone else decided to split up to search for Knock Out all trying to think of where he might be, Starscream went with Windblade and Moonracer to look around outside of the city limits because Starscream wanted to ask Predaking to help look.
Starscream and Windblade were both flying in their jet modes hoping to get a better view from the air while Moonracer was driving in her car mode.
When Starscream spotted something red at the bottom of a cliff and he and Windblade flew down to investigate while Moonracer drove to the cliff and started climbing down it.
Starscream and Windblade both landed then transformed and were horrified to find Knock Out's body at the bottom of the cliff which was the red Starscream had spotted from the sky.
"No!" Moonracer cried as she had just reached the bottom of the cliff and spotted her lover laying lifelessly at the bottom of the cliff then started sobbing.
"Wait he's still alive." Starscream pointed out upon noticing one of Knock Out's fingers twitch, but they could all tell the red medic was in bad shape seeing spilled energon dripping from a wound on the side of his head.
Windblade called the hospital for an emergency ground bridge and paramedics while Moonracer and Starscream stayed next to their injured friend.
"Try not to move him." Starscream advised Moonracer not wanting to risk adding to the red medic's injuries.
Moonracer obeyed just holding Knock Out's servo until the paramedics arrived and lifted him onto a stretcher and wasted no time getting him to the hospital where he was taken back right away while everyone else came back and stayed in the waiting room.
And after hearing what happened Cryak had come and brought Lightning Blaze who Starscream held as the baby predacon looked around wondering what was going on.
Starscream hugged her while worried about his best friend who had been completely unresponsive when they took him back for surgery.
The seeker knew Knock Out had been attacked because they had found the scuff marks from a struggle outside the hospital and Starscream wasn't a medic but had been in enough fights to know that that wound on the side of the Aston Martin's helm had been the result of being struck with something and knocked off that cliff.
But Starscream didn't know who would do that or why, As far as he knew everyone had gotten along with Knock Out after he'd switched sides if either of them got attacked the seeker thought it'd be him because he had more enemies than the red medic did.
Then after what seemed like forever Ratchet came out and everyone rushed over to hear what he had to say.
"He's alive but he suffered some serious helm injuries one from whatever struck him and another one from the fall he took." Ratchet told them.
"He's in a coma right now and we don't know when or if he'll come out of it and even if he does survive and regain consciousness there's a chance he might have processor damage, He might never be the same again." Ratchet sadly explained to all of them.
"It's not certain but I have to prepare all of you for the worst." He added hanging his head.
After Ratchet told them what Knock Out's condition was they were all aloud back to see him and went back right away and none of them were prepared for what they saw.
Knock Out was laying still on a medical berth hooked to machines that were currently the only thing keeping him alive.
Moonracer could barely keep it together and Starscream's wings dropped as he struggled to hold back his own coolant tears both of them upset at seeing their friend that way.
Then Lightning Blaze used her wings to hover into Knock Out's medical berth and laid on his chest plates before Starscream went over and gently took her in his servos as she looked up at the seeker with coolant tears rolling down her face as if questioning what was wrong with her Dad 2.
"It's ok sweetie everything is gonna be ok." Starscream tried to reassure her. "Mom can you and Windblade take Lightning Blaze home it's not good for her to see this I'll be there soon."
They both agreed and took the baby predacon home to try to distract her after seeing how this was effecting her.
Starscream stayed a few more minutes worried about his best friend and not liking seeing him in that condition or what seeing him that way did to Lightning Blaze.
"You have to survive this and wake up Doctor, Lightning Blaze needs you, Don't you dare leave her like this Knock Out she loves you and needs you in her life you have to fight for her she needs you!" Starscream begged his friend unable to hold back his coolant tears.
Then Starscream pulled himself together before leaving to go home knowing Lightning Blaze needed him too.
As soon as Starscream left Pharma came in and smirked after seeing that they were alone.
"I see your still hanging on, I have to give you credit Knock Out your stronger then you look." Pharma told the comatose Aston Martin as he mockingly stroked his faceplates.
"If I wanted to I could finish you off right now but I doubt you'll last long anyway so I won't waste my time on you." Pharma continued.
"Since you won't be going anywhere I might come back and finish you later once I'm done with Starscream and that little predacon pest, It'll give me time to decide if I want to finish you with a lethal injection or if I should just pull the plug on you, sleep well doctor I'll be back to finish you later if you haven't died on your own before then." Pharma finished.
Then he left Knock Out's hospital room as Moonracer entered not wanting to leave her boyfriend's side having agreed to stay in his hospital room with him and had just left to get energon to refuel while she stayed with him.
"She might be a problem, well I could always kill her too if she gets in the way." Pharma thought to himself. "But first things first I need to take care of a certain seeker and baby predacon."
Then Pharma went down the hallway where he took a syringe and vile of something out of one of the labs that he put inside his subspace.
"Starscream and the little problem I mean predacon must be really upset about Knock Out I think I'll pay them a visit." Pharma told himself darkly as he left the hospital.
