Doctor Strange and Wong descended the stairs, engaged in conversation. It was, by all accounts, an ordinary day at the Sanctum Sanctorum—at least, that was until the unexpected occurred.
An explosion.
They turned in unison. A brilliant, rainbow-hued beam of energy tore a hole through the ceiling and the stairs beneath them. A massive object plunged through the breach, followed by the silhouette of a human.
As the radiant laser faded, the two wizards peered down into the gaping void, bracing themselves for a confrontation, only to find... Banner? He lay there, disoriented and barely clothed, with none other than Loki sprawled beside him. Both appeared utterly drained.
Banner was visibly panicked, his eyes wide with terror, while Loki seemed more alert, though equally fatigued. Both were gasping for breath.
"Thanos is coming… He's coming…"
Doctor Strange and Wong exchanged a glance, their faces etched with confusion and disbelief.
Loki was the first to rise, flipping his hair, then brushing off his attire with a flick of his wrist, his eyes darting about as he assessed their surroundings. He seemed to be trying to piece together where exactly Heimdall's magic had transported them. It was then that Banner finally took notice of him.
"Loki! You're here!" Banner exclaimed, pulling the Asgardian into a tight embrace, his voice filled with relief. "Thank God you're alive."
But Loki, visibly uncomfortable and with a disgusted expression, quickly disentangled himself. His eyes narrowed, searching for something—or someone.
"Where is Thor?"
Loki remained silent, his gaze fixed firmly on the ground, offering only a grim hint of understanding. Bruce's heart sank as realization dawned.
"Oh no…"
Loki's attention then shifted, his gaze falling upon the two wizards. They, too, had been scrutinizing the newcomers, still trying to make sense of the situation.
"It's you," Loki muttered, his voice tinged with recognition.
"Yes, it's me," Doctor Strange replied, his voice steady but sharp. "Now, can someone,anyone, explain to me what in the world has transpired here? And—whois Thanos?"
