Marine Academy
Part 2
Chapter 16

Murphy leaned overboard, gently breathing in the sea air to try to calm her seasickness. She felt Sakazuki's protective but discreet gaze in the distance.

It had been three years since the young woman had joined Marineford. Her arm had healed perfectly since the incident with Kuzan and Garp. She had therefore been able to continue her training, working hard to validate all her internships.

Just a few weeks ago, when she was starting her third year, the head doctor of intensive care had summoned her. The professor of medicine had noticed her efforts and her exemplary results in the emergency service. He offered her a place for this last year in the very closed intensive care sector. Murphy had jumped at the chance and accepted in a second.

And that's how she found herself once again embarked on a disaster mission. But this time, she wasn't alone: Emma was with her on the care ship, and Sakazuki and Kuzan had also been summoned for this mission.

The objective was to quickly dismantle a new pirate crew that was growing too big for the World Government's taste: Whitebeard's crew.
The pirate already had a certain notoriety, but his crew composed of three commanders at the moment, was becoming really problematic.

"Moby Dick in sight!"

The soldier had shouted into the loudspeakers so that every ship present (soldier and care) could hear. The blonde came out of her thoughts and hurried back to prepare the operating room with Emma.

She hated knowing that Sakazuki was there. She hated mixing work and private life. Their relationship was not a problem, they were discreet and almost never crossed paths. But when they were present on the same mission, the blonde couldn't help but keep part of her thoughts for the man. She knew that he was powerful, that nothing could ever happen to him, but if the worst were to happen, she couldn't bear to see him lying half dead on his operating table like all the others.

The first cannon shots rang out, announcing the start of hostilities.
The young woman rushed into the medical reserve, grabbing the anesthetic vials and morphine. As she filled the inventory of the narcotics, the young woman saw a blue and gold shadow pass near the window at an unimaginable speed. The soldiers then began to scream on the bridge.

[...]

The blonde smelled Sakazuki's very particular scent on the other side of the wall.

"Well, as usual hypothermia... For your leg Kuzan, it's muscular, no fracture, the x-ray is formal. You will just take this treatment and you will limit your efforts for a month. I'm not putting you "unfit" but I'm counting on you to stay reasonable." The young woman explained in front of a Kuzan who apparently didn't care much.

He yawned loudly and took the small bag filled with pills that the blonde handed him.

"Still not up for a restaurant once we get back?" The man continued, a goofy smile on his lips.

The blonde didn't even bother to answer him, laughing softly as she felt the heat on the other side of the wall rise suddenly.

"Stop your nonsense and go rest before you end up in a river of lava."

Kuzan left nonchalantly, glancing coldly at Sakazuki who was waiting patiently in the hallway, leaning against the wall of the consultation room. Neither of the two rear admirals spoke but Murphy could sense the animosity between the two men.

"Saka, what do you say about having a pizza party in my room?" The blonde had discreetly pulled him into her arms so that he would finally stop focusing on Kuzan.

The young woman's hands delicately caressing the man's chest brought him out of his thoughts in a few seconds. He put his hands around her face and pulled her towards him, kissing her passionately. Murphy felt all the questions through this kiss and answered them immediately.

[...]

"I really can't take this seasickness anymore." The blonde whispered as she was half asleep on Sakazuki's chest who was finishing the last slice of pizza.

As a Rear Admiral, Mr. had the right to place specific orders with the kitchen of his warship. He had then brought a real feast to his room and they had spent the evening eating on the bed.

"Well, what do you think of my proposal Saka?" The blonde continued while inspecting him.

"It's still no. I will not retire until I am at least an admiral and eradicate all this vermin from the oceans. And no, I will not be your househusband to satisfy all your needs." Sakazuki continued while gently caressing his back.

"Okay, I'm willing to make concessions. On the other hand, I want to have my house by the beach so I can dine on my veranda under the stars with you. It's non-negotiable!" The young woman replied as she kissed him on the cheek, a smile on her lips.

"Agreed." The man whispered as he leaned down to her, burying his head in her neck, blonde locks caressing her face as he delicately kissed her neck.
