AN:another pretty mild chapter. A little Eric and Sookie action.
*Flashback*
Sookie must have blacked out after the blood exchange. When she came to again she was still leaning against Eric's chest in the bathtub.
"There you are. Are you cold?" He asked quietly kissing her ear. She looked up at him, still holding on to his neck tightly. "Your blood is amazing." Sookie said, leaning up for a kiss. Eric stood up with her still holding on to him. He grabbed the towel and wrapped it around her. He carried her back to the bedroom. He managed to slam the door shut and close the drapes to keep the sun out the next day. He laid her out on the bed and climbed on top of her. He kissed her deeply. Sookie gasped, it was as if they were floating through the clouds.
"Eric?" He was kissing down her chest and playing with her nipples.
"We're connected through the blood. You're basically high right now. You're fine though, I've got you." He explained kissing her neck. Sookie could hear the ocean in the distance and smell the salt water. Eric rolled over on his back and pulled her on top of him. "Why hasn't it ever been like that before?" Sookie asked. "The first blood exchange was the night we met. You were injured. I had your blood all over my hands but I never bit you. I must have gotten a little blood when I bit my wrist to heal you. The second time we had just made love. You blacked out and didn't wake up until the next night. Remember? You scared me so badly I called Godric. Every other time besides that. I've either drank from you or you drank from me, but never at the same time. "Eric?" Sookie said, placing a finger over his lips. "Stop talking and make love to me." Sookie leaned down and kissed him softly on the lips. He didn't need to be told twice.
Later Sookie was laying in his arms.
"That was amazing." She whispered in between kisses.
"Yes, it was." Eric agreed, as he toyed with a strand of her hair.
Eric leaned over and grabbed an envelope from the nightstand. It had Sookie's name on it written in Eric's fancy handwriting. He handed it to her.
"Happy New Year." He said kissing the top of her head while she opened the envelope. A bunch of plane tickets fell out on top of them.
"Eric? What is this?" She asked, picking them up.
"I told you vampires are coming out sometime this year. I want to show you Europe before it happens. We don't know what will happen after we may not get a chance if we wait. We would leave Paris, fly to Barcelona. Stay there a week then fly to Italy. I have a hotel reservation for us in Venice. Then we would work our way north into Sweden. I have a plantation there. The whole trip will take about 2 months and before you say anything. Adele knows, I told her before you came to visit me in Paris. There are enough tickets should she wish to join us. I could get her here before we leave Paris." Sookie was crying softly. He reached up and wiped her tears. "Sookie? Say something. Anything." She planted a huge kiss on his lips. "I'm sorry baby. This is amazing. You're just amazing." She buried her face between his shoulder and cheek and sobbed. "Is it wrong of me to want Gran not to come?" Eric chuckled.
"Is that why you're crying?" He asked, running his fingers through her hair.
She nodded.
"No, it's not and it doesn't make you a bad granddaughter either. It's not wrong for us to want to be alone." He kissed her. "What about clothes? I didn't pack enough." He ran his hand down her back and cupped her butt. "It's been taken care of. Sookie, everything is taken care of, you just have to say yes." He whispered against her lips.
"Yes!" Sookie said without hesitation. She climbed on top of him and he sat up in bed to hold her. She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him. "A thousand times yes!" She said laughing against his lips.
*End Flashback*
"Hi." Sookie said. She was suddenly very shy. She tightened her hold on Eric's hand and leaned into him. He let go of her hand and settled his arm around her waist.
"There is no need for you to be frightened. I'm not here to cause you any harm. I heard you made quite the impression on Mab." He chuckled.
"She tricked me into going to Fairy then tried to keep me there against my will. She's harvesting people." Sookie said, tears pooling in the corner of her eyes.
"It's alright my dear, I dealt with that before coming to see you this evening, you won't have any further trouble from her or any of the other sky fae.
Sookie stared at him.
"Thank you." She said politely, unsure of what else she was supposed to say.
Niall stared past her a moment at Eric. Then he looked back at Godric, puzzled.
"Isn't he yours?" Niall asked.
"Yes, We are having some trouble with witches at the moment. They cursed him and turned him into a human." Godric said. He flopped down in the desk chair. Which wasn't like Godric at all. He was always so in control of his movements. No one ever knew he was there unless he wanted them to. Sookie noticed for the first time just how exhausted he looked. Vampire's aren't supposed to look tired.
Niall looked at Eric a moment then back at Sookie before settling his eyes on Godric and pointing to Sookie.
"She can break it. All she has to do is hit him with her light. It's the purest form of magic. Witch curses are no match for it. Her light is very strong. I can sense it." Niall said.
"Can you do it? I don't know how to control my powers. It just happens sometimes but I don't know how to command it." Niall looked at Sookie.
"It wouldn't work. I'd fry him. You're in love with him and are very tightly bonded. Your energy isn't capable of causing him any harm. Try it, just concentrate all your energy into your fingers. He might not even feel it." Sookie tried. She strained so hard they were afraid she would hurt herself.
"Lover! Stop!" Eric finally said when she started to get sweaty again. She sagged back against him and closed her eyes. She was completely exhausted.
"Sookie can't control any of her gifts. They seem to trigger when she's in danger. But she doesn't know how to call them on demand." Eric said, sitting down on the couch and pulling her in his lap. She hadn't moved.
"Sookie?" She still didn't answer him.
"Sookie!" She finally met his eyes but was still unable to do much else.
Niall walked over to her and touched the back of her head. A bright white light flowed from his fingers into her.
Eric tried to pull her away but Niall stopped him with a look.
"She'll be fine. How long has it been since she's been out during the day?" Niall asked.
"We were out a little while this morning but it's been a few days. She's afraid the fairies are coming for her and they did. I killed one this morning. " Niall let his light flow through her for about thirty seconds. Sookie lit up like a Christmas tree. Eric could feel the power flowing through her. When it was over she fell back against him and opened her eyes. He gently kissed her lips and cradled her head in the palm of his hand.
"Claudine was somewhere she wasn't supposed to be. She went against a direct order whatever happened to her she brought on herself." Niall said before kneeling in front of Sookie.
"Sookie, we are Sky Fae. We get our power from the sun. It recharges us and if we go too long without sunlight we can get very sick. You need to be outdoors every day." He said, his eyes never left her.
"Now can I speak to my great granddaughter privately for a few minutes?" Niall asked, looking at Eric and Godric.
"Are you alright with it? We'll stay just outside the door." Eric said, taking her face in his large palms.
"I guess so." Sookie said quietly. "I actually feel a lot better than I have." Sookie reassured him. He kissed her softly on the lips. "Good. If you need me I'll be on the other side of the door. " He said, sitting her down on the couch beside him. He stood up. He and Godric quietly exited the room to give them privacy. Niall sat down beside her. Sookie studied his features. He was the most beautiful man she had ever seen. He had the kindest eyes and smile she had ever seen. It made her want to cry.
"I wanted to talk to you alone." Niall said.
"I'm very powerful. I regret not meeting you before now. Finton, thought it best I didn't know of you. I have many enemies. Enemies that would make Mab seem like⦠What's the mouse at the amusement park children go to? Mikey Mouse?" Sookie had to shove her hand to her mouth to keep from laughing.
"Mickey?" She asked. Niall nodded, enthusiastically.
"Yes! That's it!" Niall said. I want to give you a gift. Are you happy with the vampires? Can I kill someone for you? Do you need money?" Sookie shook her head.
"Gosh no! I'm very happy with Eric. I don't want your money." Sookie said feeling very uncomfortable.
"Very well my dear. I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you." Niall said, rising to his feet.
"Can you close the fairy portal in the cemetery by the farmhouse?" Sookie asked almost desperately. Niall studied her for a moment.
"I suppose so, though I can't do it right away. I have to give everyone on this side a chance to get back." Sookie shook her head. They talked a little while longer. Sookie wasn't sure if she should trust Niall.
"Thank you for meeting me. It's been a pleasure," Niall said finally. "Go call your husband." Sookie leaped up and ran to the door. She flung herself into Eric's arms. He was waiting for her just outside the door just like he said he would. He caught her around the waist and held her. He tangled his big hand in her hair and held her close while she pulled him back in the room.
"Are you satisfied?" Godric asked, looking at Niall. Niall shook his head yes.
"Sookie, before I close the portal in your woods, I feel that it is very important for you to learn to control your powers. Any objections?" Niall said, reaching for Sookie's hand.
Sookie looked at Eric.
Godric spoke for her. "Niall, while I think that is a wonderful idea. I feel it is more important to get that portal closed as soon as possible. Were you aware that Finton died the night he was supposed to meet Sookie to teach her to control her gift?" Niall stood up.
"You're right. I'll have it closed within ten days. Until then maybe we could train during the day?" Sookie looked at Eric and Godric.
"Eric, it might not be a bad idea. Until we figure out how to break the curse." Godric suggested.
Eric looked down at Sookie. "I think so too. But it's up to Sookie." Sookie shook her head. "Ok, but after lunch, I want my mornings with Eric as long as we can. And Eric comes with me."
"You drive a hard bargain my dear. I think that is a good idea. You're still getting strength from your bond with him even though he's human. Can you meet me at the farmhouse around lunchtime tomorrow?" Sookie looked at Eric and he shook his head in agreement. Niall kissed the top of Sookie's head and left. Sookie leaned against Eric and he wrapped his arms around her waist.
"You alright?" He asked, kissing her softly. She shook her head. "I think so."
"Let's get you both home, I have a meeting with Nan Flangagan." Godric said as they walked from the office. Godric walked them back out to the Honda. Eric helped Sookie in the passenger seat and Godric stopped him before he could get in. "I think Pam and I should go to ground at your house until this is over. I'll be there by dawn." Eric nodded. He was grateful that Godric would be close. "I'll tell Pam. Godric, what are the witch's terms to get her to drop the curse?" Eric asked.
"Well, it started out she wanted 60% of sales. But after last night she wants 90%." They both rolled their eyes.
"If she'll lift the curse and leave us alone she can have it." Eric said. Godric shook his head. "Absolutely not! Eric, you know what kind of message that sends." He shrugged his shoulders. "I don't care what anyone else thinks! I'm worthless to her like this. None of this is worth losing her over! I can't watch her suffer and you know it's just going to get worse." Eric ran his fingers through his hair.
"Just give us some time. I think training with Niall would be a wonderful opportunity for her. She needs to learn how to control her gift. Then maybe she can break the curse." Eric knew Godric was right.
"We'll talk later. I have a meeting with Nan Flanagan and your sister." Eric raised his eyebrows but opened the car door and got in.
"Hey, I'm actually pretty hungry. I called us in steak and lobster from that little Japanese Hibachi restaurant down the road. I also got you some chicken since we don't know what you'll like the best." Eric smiled at her. She reached for his hand and laced her fingers through his. "You're the best wife." He said, bringing her fingers to his lips. "Are you ok with meeting Niall? I have to be honest with you, I don't like not being able to feel you." Sookie smiled at him.
"I'm not sure if I should trust him. That's why I insisted on you being with me. He wanted to give me a gift. I wasn't sure what to say so I just asked him to close the portal." Eric pulled into the restaurant and parked the car. He pulled his wallet out of his pocket and went to take his card out.
"Babe, let me run in and get it." Sookie said, reaching for his card. Eric looked at her.
"Seriously, someone might recognize you." Eric sat back against the seat. He knew she was right. He handed her the card. Sookie leaned over and kissed him. "I know what you're thinking and I understand why you feel that way but somehow I have to take my life back." He hugged her tightly. "I love you. Sookie if anything looks out of place. Just leave. We'll get something from one of those greasy drive through places. It's not worth something happening to you." She nodded and kissed him before she quickly got out of the car. She was in and out in five minutes. She opened the door and quickly got in.
"Eric! Go! We gotta get out of here now!" Sookie cried. Eric hit the gas and squealed tires on his way out of the parking lot.
"What is it? What happened? Are you alright?" He reached for her hand. Sookie scooted closer to him and wrapped her arms around his arm. She buried her head in his shoulder.
"Baby. I'm sorry. I'm fine. It's not me. There was a woman in there putting missing person flyers up for you offering 500,000 for your return. I was so scared someone was going to see you in the parking lot." Eric ran his hand down her back. "Let's get home." Eric calmed down once he realized she was fine. It took him a minute to realize she was sobbing against his arm. She was trying to stay quiet. "Sookie?" He questioned once they pulled into the private driveway.
"I hate the way things are. We can't even stop and get something to eat without someone trying to hunt us down." Eric held her while she sobbed against his chest.
"She wants easy money, 90% of profit from Fangtasia." Sookie's head shot up from his shoulder. "Eric we'd have to close. We'd have to use personal money just to keep the doors open." He shifted and pulled her back down on his shoulder.
Eric opened the garage and pulled in and turned the car off.
"I'm aware. I told Godric she could just have it. I'm worthless like this to you right now." Sookie grabbed his face and kissed him passionately.
"No you're not giving this bitch what she wants! We're going to get through this. And Eric Northman, don't you ever say you're worthless again! Don't you even think about giving in. Now let's go in the house and eat some GD Japanese food." She pulled away from him and grabbed the food from the floor. She got out of the car. She got to the steps before Eric grabbed her around the waist. He spun her around and picked her up. He kissed her. The kind of kiss that left them both breathless and Sookie trying to climb him like a tree. He got them in the door and took the bag from her hand and sat it on the table. He kissed her and sat her down on the bar. He unbuttoned the first few buttons on her dress and pulled it down until her breasts spilled out the top. He pushed the skirt up and pulled her panties to the side. She grabbed his shirt and tried to lift it over his head. After a minute he did it for her and threw it on the floor. He licked two of his fingers and ran them over her clit before plunging them in her. He kissed her, and tangled his other hand in her hair.
"You have no idea what you do to me." He said between kisses. She cried out as he replaced his fingers with his dick, thrusting in her hard enough to make both of their eyes roll into the back of their heads.
They both came quickly. He kissed her through her orgasm and then fell forward on her until he regained composure. Sookie wrapped her arms around him and held him against her. He finished helping her take off her dress then tossed her his T-shirt. She put it on.
"Thank you Lover." He whispered, lifting her in his arms. He grabbed their food off the table and carried her to the couch.
"For what?" She asked.
"Reminding me who I am."
For the next few hours they ate and watched tv. They took turns feeding each other and just talking and laughing. Around two in the morning Sookie began to drift off to sleep. Eric lifted her off the couch and carried her to their bedroom. They fell asleep in each other's arms before the sun came up.
