A/N: So, writer's block is a thing T_T
As I was doodling random ideas to recharge, a silly interaction came to my head which is basically this chapter in a nutshell. Then everything spiralled from there and here we are.
This is not to be taken seriously at all, I wrote this bit by bit at night to relax so shit may be whack, yo. Having Takeru randomly appear in other series' worlds to do shenanigans is too funny. Also, some characters are gonna be a bit off and over the top as I'm gonna play with some concepts I never can in Reversal.
Anyways, what BETA? We have cards games here like in Supplement.
Have fun down there o7
Shirogane Takeru's Bizzare Adventures [01]
It's in the Cards (literally)
Softness surrounds Takeru, who claws at the sheets. Tossing and turning, his sides and expression. Cold sweat swells and falls off, more so as strong knocking rams onto his front door.
Such a rude awakening is hardly benefitial for one's health, indeed. The clawing, in his mind, doubles along the impacts, until the intruder voices their grievances.
Suddenly, a splash of cold water sends shocks into Takeru, eyes snap open as he raises. Gasping shallow and rubbing his forearms, the phantom pain doesn't recede from his skin.
The tossing of the cockpit, the guttural chokes, that frozen frame within the pod. Many faces flash through his mind, vanishing along the final blast of the cannon.
Along himself, from the hillside.
Flexing yet unsoiled fingers, breathing through still complete lips he gazes outside, to a clear sunshine.
"Open this damn door this instant! Waaah... Why did you put the chainlock?!" Sumika flares, thrashing against the door.
Takeru can't help but to chuckle, wiping dry eyes. "I guess some things never change, eh?"
"Yeah, for real. Though, I wish she'd take a hint already."
"Huh?"
He turns around, just as a manicured hand caresses his forearm.
"She already knows I'm here to keep you in check, there's no need to be this loud."
Purple eyes roll before she stretches, popping her spine in full awakening.
"What the hell." Takeru merely blinks.
"Yeah, exactly," she nods, leaning closer to the bed and playing with his rebel hair. "We do deserve a good night's rest, don't we?" Yuuko smiles, sticking out her tongue.
Takeru pinches his cheek, but the sight doesn't change. Right besides his bed lays his known teacher and vice commander, dressed to kill as always.
"Sensei?"
"Oh, come on. Don't get crabby since so early," she pouts, pulling at his cheek. "Good job on waking up on your own but don't you start on name calling me since dawn, Takeru."
"Ow! Stop it! What kind of dream is this?!"
"It isn't, you dolt. Are you still half asleep?"
"Then what are you doing here?!"
"Oh! Man, your memory is really useless, isn't it," she sighs, flicking his forehead. "Your folk asked me to look after you, as always."
"As always?"
"What? Ever since we met I've been looking after your idiot ass. Did you stay late playing games again?" she sucks in breath sharply, folding arms.
"No! I was- I mean, wait. What day- Today's October 22nd, right?!"
"Yeah. You back to the real world?
"I'm... back?"
He looks at his hands, evenly colored, unhurt.
Rubbing his body, a slight tenor of muscles remains but buried, and scarless.
"I'm really back... Ow!"
"Takeru, you didn't steal my liquor, did you?"
"Ouch! N-No, I didn't!"
"Hmm. I see," she lets his ear go, smiling at the clear voice then pets his head again. "Good boy."
"W-What... are you doing, Sensei?"
"Oho? Is little Takeru too flustered by a bit of touch?" she whispers, leaning closer and moistening her lips. "Something on your mind, big boy?"
He recoils, wincing. "No! Stop being weird, dammit! T-This isn't-"
"Pfft- Hahahahaha! Look at you, you're all red!" Yuuko doubles over, slapping her knees.
As Takeru tilts and Yuuko wheezes, the door to his bedroom is reopened in grandiose booming.
"Takeru-chan, what are you doing?" Sumika protests, hands on her hips. "And what is Professor Kouzuki doing here?!"
Yuuko palms her neck, winking and sticking out her tongue. "What? Can't I watch over my protegee?"
"Well, no... but why did you put the chainlock?!"
"Just felt like it," Yuuko shrugs.
"Come on, you two need to wake up earlier!"
"Woke up early enough, though. Ah, you should have seen his blissful face as he slept... as I snuggled up close and-"
"Ta-ke-ru-chaaaan..."
"First, no. Second, Sensei, what the fuck?"
"Language, also it's Yuuko, you jerk," she fakes a wince, hitting his shoulder.
Takeru tries but just can't hold onto her gaze. "Sigh. Anyways, you're... alright," he nods, sniffing as he looks at Sumika.
She puffs her cheeks, squeaking like a boiling keetle. "You're making fun of me, aren't you?!"
"N-No, I'm just-"
"He said you were an annoying blockhead, you know?" Yuuko whispers, smirking.
"What?!"
"He really pushed me to put on the chainlock... otherwise," Yuuko shudders and sucks in air, dramatically placing her hands on her abdomen, tight.
Sumika flares and stomps towards the bed, "You're such a lecherous pig!"
"Wait, what the- I-I don't even know what you're talking about! Can you both just, I dunno, calm down and talk about what's going on here?!" he asks as he steps out of bed.
Both women take a noted step back, flushing equally red.
"What?"
"Takeru, look, I know you're in that age but... show some modesty, come on," Yuuko sighs, rubbing her temple and looking away.
He blinks and tilts his head.
Sumika grits her teeth, smacking a fist onto a palm. "You fucking jerk... You have no delicacy at all!" she cries out, eyes closed as she points at him.
At his lower half, specifically.
"What are you- Oh my shit..." Takeru gasps, finally realizing.
"Don't stand there and put some pants on," Yuuko throws him his usual over the head, rolling her eyes. "There better not be loads of that on the sheets or I'll beat your ass."
Sumika shivers as actual smoke or steam rushes out of her ears. "You're such a jerk... You never change, do you?!"
"Wait a sec! I admit this was my bad! Just calm down, okay? I'm, uh, kinda disoriented and tired-"
"No, you're not sneaking your way out of this one. Takeru-chan, I challenge you to a duel!" Sumika roars, pointing at the ceiling.
"...Okay?" he raises a brow, putting on his pants.
Yuuko sighs yet chuckles, moving towards his closet and throwing something his way. Takeru catches the item, wide eyed at the apparatus.
Sumika also procures an equally striking machine, attaching it to her wrist. It immediately splinters its outer ring, forming a sickle shape with the central dock opening up, where she places a stack of cards.
"It's time to duel!" she smirks, taking on a grandiose pose.
Takeru gapes and furrows his brows, the onset of a headache burning at his nape.
"Are you sure I survived Ouka?" Did Sensei leave me on meds back at the base or something?
"Mmgh! Stop stalling and get your duel disk on!" Sumika flails her arms, puffing more steam.
Yuuko whistles, "Maybe you're not a real challenge for him anymore... Maybe Takeru wants to move to the big leagues," she intones, pushing off her chest and jiggling.
Sumika breathes literal fire. "Takeru-chan!"
"O-Okay! I'll... put this thing on, I guess?"
Both women share a momentary gaze, blinking oddly at the lack of the usual banter. More so as Takeru fumbles with the duel disk until he gets it right, slowly and carefully.
"These initials, 'M.G.'. Just what are they supposed to mean?" he wonders, noticing the engraving on the rather heavy and polished 'toy'.
A deck already attached, he clicks the button and activates the outer sickle to spread. Whereas Sumika's one was colored mainly in pink with secondary red lines, Takeru's was instead an ebon black with neon orange as the company. The back of the cards is none he recalls playing with, and there is an odd number displayed on the tiny screen atop the device, displaying the number '8000'. In the middle of the five separated squares in the sickle-shape there's a slit large enough to place a card in, he assumes, and only confuses him even more.
"Who would put this much detail into a mere card game? I mean, how much does this cost? And... what the hell is going on here?"
"Hey! Are you ready?" Sumika hurries.
"Y-Yeah. Let's duel!"
The second he says that, the duel disk blisters to life. Vibrating, a rainbow of colors blurs in the sickle and spread through the room, engulfing it in green scanlines as a chill techno beat begins to play.
"W-Wait, what the hell?!" Takeru whips his neck to and fro, not believing his eyes.
"Ha! I go first!" Sumika pumps a fist, until she sees Takeru looking around carelessly. "Urgh! You didn't even choose!"
"Huh?" Takeru looks down, finding a rundown timer and a choice for RPS.
"Yuuko-san, he's already bullying me!"
"Come on, now. Sumika, don't let him discourage you. You know Takeru is slow at morning," she shrugs with a smile. "And Takeru, if you lose I'm giving you double homework."
"What?! Why?"
"Because I can. Just don't lose."
Takeru groans but ends smiling, sending chills down Yuuko. He sighs and nods at Sumika, still looking at the spreading sight before him. As the icons appear, showcasing phases, actions, and outlining two rows of seven squares, one atop another, for each player's field, he can't help but to whistle at the detail.
Yet he shives, gulping. "This does not look to be a dream, at all. Then, where am I? Cardverse?"
"Duel!" Sumika yells, he micks it in answer.
Five cards slide off the top of the deck in his disk, he picks them up.
"My starting hand is- Huh?"
"My turn!" Sumika smirks, raising one singular card high above. "I Normal Summon Gearfried, the Iron Knight!"
A card manifests in the central zone, of four stars and featuring a mechanical-looking male knight, truly made of iron. A twist of light after, Gearfriend yells and jumps out the card frame and takes point in front of Sumika.
She high fives with her monster, grabbing two more cards. "I set two and end my turn!"
Takeru blinks, gaping. "Okay...? What the-"
"What? You better not start making fun of my deck again because-"
"No, calm down already, come on," he sighs, waving down.
What composure lies in him sends more chills down both women, who share a look.
"So, this thing," Takeru points to Gearfried, finger shaking, "I felt it as it burst out of the card."
"Oh, right. Sumika, turn off Solid Vision," Yuuko reminds.
She yelps, quickly messing with the buttons in the inner side of the duel disk. Takeru mimicks her movements, finding the setting and seeing his duel disk already had the option turned off.
"So these holograms are, like, real solid?"
"Anyways, good catch!" Sumika gives him a thumbs up. "Come on, let's keep going!"
"Oh, yeah. Uhhh... My turn-"
The icons shimmer in 'Draw Phase', a card immediately juts out from the duel disk. Takeru slowly picks it up, rearranging his six cards and nodding off.
"Okay. Uh, Standby?" he asks, as the button remains idle on that.
Sumika taps her chin, then shrugs. "Standby's fine."
The button veers the shine to the 'Main Phase', giving Takeru control of his cards, some of which shine with an outline of yellow and others in blue.
"So it's my move, huh. Gimme a second..."
"Takeru-chan, what are you doing?"
"Reading."
"Oh, come on! Now you're just BMing me!"
"Calm down, okay? Let's see... Yeah, this works out," he smiles, picking out a card and showing it. "Since you control three or more cards than me, I pay half my life to active this thing, right?"
Takeru's LP [8000] / 2 = [4000]
He softly lays the card in the middle column, gulping before the duel disk thrums against his arm, the inner fan audibly spinning before a geyser of dark blue spreads like a ripple. Cutting through the waves that merge into a typhoon, a skeletal figure cackles and reaches out.
Sumika pales, smacking both her cheeks. "When and how did you pull motherfucking The End of the Storm?! Why didn't you tell me?!"
"Dunno. Ask past me."
"It's a Secret Rare! It has to be a one-of and of course you opened-"
"Anyways, this has an effect? I tap here and- Oh."
A small menu appears in his sight, with a slider. It's cold and firm to the touch, allowing him to see the few options available. After a moment of reading, Takeru picks one effect and taps the select button.
[Banish all cards on the field, face-down. Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects in response to this card.]
Promptly, the Reaper spreads its arms and claws at the air. The storm raises to envelop all, its prior blue glow turning crimson as shadowy eruptions crack the ground.
Sumika covers her face as everything is sundered to ashes, lips barely open and puffing her cheeks.
Takeru whistles. "Wow... This is something else."
"Y-You asshole! That's why you missed the RPS on purpose. You're running Blind Second OTK, aren't you?!"
"No idea what you're talking about."
"Y-You didn't pull Chimeratech, did you?"
"No?"
Sumika sighs, heavy.
He tilts his head, unable not to chuckle at her cute sillyness. "Anyways, I Normal Summon Armed Samurai Ben-Kei."
"What?"
A traditional samurai jumps out of the card, bending the knee in front of Takeru. His head, covered in a white cloth, arms and legs guarded by armor yet the rest of his body scarred with arrows sticking deeply into him. On his hands, and on his backside, many kind of swords, lances and tridents are easily available. The man glowers at Sumika, brandishing his weapons at her.
Sumika whimpers in place.
"This guy has a cool effect," Takeru nods to himself with a smile. "For every Equip Spell, he gets an extra attack during Battle. And now, I equip Axe of Despair, Mage Power, and Moon Mirror Shield to Ben-Kei!"
A jagged axe with a skull from which the steel protudes and a full moon-shaped golden mirror appear in each hand of the samurai, as a halo of mana surrounds him. A magicalized circle with odd letters appears on his back, pumping out his muscles.
Sumika's eyes twitch and water, lips moving soundlessly. Yuuko chuckles dry, messing with her fringe.
"Thanks to these cards, Ben-Kei's attack goes up to... three thousand! And he gets three more attacks. So, Battle?"
"No. Please? Can I surre-"
"GO, BEN-KEI! DRILL MILKY SLAAAAAASH!"
"UWAAAAAAaaaaaaahhhhhhh!"
Sumika's LP [8000] – 12000 = [-4000]
Sumika falls to her knees and covers her head as the hologram whacks her with the axe and the shield, cursing and crying comical waterfalls.
"Takeru, come on. You didn't have to keep attacking even after the game over," Yuuko rolls her eyes, going closer and smacking his shoulder.
"Sorry. I was... testing things."
"Testing?"
"Just- Don't worry about it," he sighs, looking away. "I'm not dreaming, am I?"
"Well, if you wanna make sure," Yuuko giggles, walking behind him.
Draping her arms over his chest, she pulls him backwards until the back of his head rests onto her bosom. She begins softly petting him, humming lowly.
Previously sunken, Sumika stands and guts Ben-Kei in the dick, making the holograms disappear then stomps forward. "Takeru-chaaaaan..."
"H-Hey, I'm a victim here!" he flais his arms, trying to pull but not succeeding. "S-Sensei, come on. Get a grip."
"Oh, you want it tighter?"
He can't help the soft moan escaping, eyes crossing and briefly seeing Santa.
Sumika flushes, before stomping her foot down. "Cut it out, both of you! T-This is indecent conduct!"
"Nonsense. I'm just pampering my protegee," Yuuko sticks out her tongue, resting her chin on his head. "Right, Ta-ke-ru?"
"Alright, fine! You win, it's all my bad! J-Just please, stop this," he asks, soft, lips shaking as he heaves a sigh and merely grips at her arms.
Yuuko's eyes narrow, not finding the rambunctious shame or returned stabs. She slowly separates herself and restores his personal space, taking a good look at him. The sunken eyes, moistening, make her dry and nibble her inner cheek.
"Something wrong?" she asks.
He looks up, quickly turning away. "No, I'm fine. Had a bad dream, is all. Don't tease me like that, okay?"
"Yeah, got it. Went too far with that one, sorry," Yuuko nods down, shrugging.
Sumika switches glances between them, slumping. "So, are you really okay?"
"Yeah, don't worry."
Sumika groans. "Alright."
"Well, come on, you two," Yuuko claps her hands and walks up to Sumika. "We're gonna be late for class. Let's go make breakfast as he showers and changes. You don't take long, alright?" she nods at Takeru as she goes to the door.
He barely nods.
Sumika keeps groaning. "I get it, I get it. Why did he sleep in so much, though?" she folds her arms as they go down the stairs.
"I mean, he was up until late last night. It was a-ma-zing."
"Wh- What?! Y-You don't mean-"
"Oh, mhm. Why do you think we closed the curtains?"
"We?! Wait, he said nothing happened! And you're also his teacher now, a-and t-the bed was dry!"
"Yeah, that's why you swallow all of it, you silly. Start taking notes, will you? Old Yuuko-nee can't take care of his urges all by myself now, you know?"
Sumika tumbles down the stairs, shouting draconian curses of the heaviest order. As she tries and lunge back into his room, Yuuko drags her away while chuckling loud enough to still reach Takeru.
He isn't in much better shape, hearing everything and choking his lungs dry amidst changing. After trying not to die, he double checks his body and sheets, finding no lingering sweat, no stains, and nothing of that particular smell.
Takeru headbutts the wall, chest still stinging dry.
"Goddammit, Sensei... So she's acting like back home. But what the hell is going on here? This can't possibly be my home world so-"
He looks at the odd 'duel disk' then into his closet, where many more decks were arranged and labeled. On the walls, his jet poster is replaced by a quantum science one. By his desk, besides the usual photos with his parents and Sumika, there's one with a small, child Takeru being held up mid tantrum by a younger Yuuko in a Hakuryo uniform, smirking as teasing as always.
"Where the fuck am I?!" And where is Meiya?!
A/N: So you know how technically Yuuko is Takeru's guardian in the BETAverse? And how she says she has to be the Holy Mother? Well, on my reread of the trilogy when Takeru called her the holy mother at the end all I could think about was making a Mommy Yuuko fic but rather than anything sexual it's just her actually trolling and doting on Takeru as a surrogate mother of sorts.
Since Yuuko was originally meant to be one of the heroines in place of Meiya according to the codex, I had always wanted to try my hand at making her the childhood friend in the park instead. I mean, think about it. The coup takes much more weight if Yuuko entrusts Takeru not only with the Shogun but her only family left, and it makes more sense why Yuuhi's words remind Takeru of Yuuko. But I digress. Can't believe this is how I get to play with that concept.
I was actually debating between having Marimo as the 'grandpa' of the fic but... leaving Marimo alone with Takeru, or anyone, kind of spells doom. I don't think anyone's parents would leave Marimo in charge if there were a family relation between them. One chug of beer and... yeah.
For reference, this will loosely follow the events of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters anime. Uploads will be at random but this won't be too long as I'll keep everything with the intent of being funny. Forgive the grammar errors there may be as this comes hot off the oven without editing runs or anything.
Sumika is kind of supposed to be Joey. You know who she fights for in 'Duelist Kingdom', I guess. And the role of Kaiba boy should be obvious lol.
See you later o7
