Those Obnoxious Ghosts
Chapter 26: More Drama on Earth
Unknown to Danny or any of the alien visitors on Earth, a certain fruitloop was up to his old tricks. Vlad was in his lab, going over the data on his computer.
"Well Maddie, have my Vlad-bots collected all the data from those new obnoxious aliens?..."Vlad said, while his computer followed the order.
"Good news, Sweetheart. All recordings from the Vlad-bots have been backed up into your computer and have also been analyzed from top to bottom. Apparently, two new aliens with similar DNA to Lum's race have recently entered Amity Park. Our secret surveillance devices at Fenton Works also gathered more data on their abilities..."His Maddie hologram said as images of a certain tiger-cow monster and a pink-haired alien attacking Danny could be seen.
Vlad grinned.
"I see. Excellent. This data will be very useful. I can always count on you Maddie 2.0..."The fruitloop said.
"Anytime, Lambchop..."The Maddie hologram responded with a sweet and loving programmed tone.
"He was talking about me, you cheap upgrade of an otherwise flawless model system unit!..."Another Maddie hologram said in an angry tone.
"How dare you talk to me like that, you second-rate, obsolete prototype!..."The other hologram Maddie shouted, and the two glared at each other.
The two holograms began to fight each other, while Vlad watched in amusement.
"Now, let's see how I can use Lum's little friends against Daniel next..."Vlad thought as he saw two new pawns on the chessboard.
Before he could think of new plans, Vlad then got a message on his computer and frowned.
"Oh, what now?..."He complained as he wondered who could send it since only his minions and pawns had access to this.
However, he smiled once he saw which minions tried to communicate with him.
"Ah, I see that Daniel's bride-to-be is requesting some help from yours truly. I suppose that I should do the neighborly gesture and greet her personally..."Vlad said, smirking as he decided to go speak with his latest pawn.
A few moments later
Lum was waiting on the rooftop of the mayor's mansion, wanting for her friend. She was getting anxious.
Ten doesn't know she is here since she knew that he'd tried to talk her out of this. She also managed to thankfully avoid Ran and Rei so far. Now, she was waiting for her ally in her quest to win her Darling's heart.
"Where is he? I don't want to keep waiting here while Rei can suddenly appear out of nowhere..."Lum thought.
Thankfully, her ally soon appeared as he phased and was now before him.
"Hello again, Miss Lum. How are you? Had the suit I've gifted you been of assistance?..."Vlad greeted.
Lum smiled.
"Hello, Vlad. Thank you once more for the suit. Also, I'm sorry for showing up out of nowhere..."She said, trying to be polite.
"Oh, don't worry. I wasn't busy..."Vlad lied since he had a few new aliens to study and figure out how to use each of them in his ongoing chess game of life.
Lum seemed glad to hear this before she recalled why she was here.
To get some more help with her Darling.
A few moments later
Soon, they began to talk and discuss what had happened to Lum so far from the last time she met her new "friend".
"So, I take it that you already spoke with Daniel?..."Vlad asked, pretending that he didn't already know about what happened between the two of them.
Lum got upset again.
"Yes. Unfortunately, Darling is still being unreasonably uncooperative even with all the new equipment you gave me. I don't get why!..."The alien princess said as she started to complain about what happened these past few days.
Including her unwanted trip to Saturn of all places, as well as having to deal with Ran, Rei, and whatever the ghost with the pajamas' name was at the Fenton house, as well as other issues she had faced since arriving on Earth. Once done, the alien princess kept venting her rants to Vlad and the older half-ghost man did his best to tolerate every word she spoke to him.
"And if that wasn't bad enough, my idiot ex-boyfriend is back and he's far too thick-headed to take no for an answer for all the times he's tried to win me back! He's such an idiot and a pig to boot! I HATE HIM! I HATE HIM! I HATE HIM!..."She whined as she kept complaining of her obnoxious ex-fiancé.
All the while, Vlad kept pretending that he was actually listening to her troubles.
"What a brat. All she does is whine and complain. And how ironic is it that she's rejecting the feelings of someone she doesn't like, while she's doing the exact same thing with Daniel? This alien princess is such a whiny little pest!..."He thought in annoyance but plastered a fake, understanding smile on his face.
"Oh, I'm sorry that happened to you. It's always difficult to deal with one who cannot understand their love for another. Strangely enough, I can somewhat relate to that feeling...although I'm entirely sure why..."Vlad said in a fake caring way.
Lum sighed.
"At least you understand what I've been going through lately. But now it all feels like back to square one of my problems with Darling. Plus, with Ran and Rei causing more trouble, things have only gotten even harder than before..."She said, referring to her ex-boyfriend and her former friend.
"So those are their names? Noted..."The fruitloop thought before he spoke up again.
"Poor girl, I know fully well what it's like to deal with idiotic friends who cause trouble..."Vlad said, angrily thinking of Jack while sending Lum another fake smile.
The alien princess was still unaware of this as she kept seeing him as a friend.
"Still, perhaps I have something else that could be of some help..."The villain said, getting the alien princess's attention again.
A few moments later
The two were now in Vlad's lab. Lum looked around as she eyed it as the villain tried to find something.
"Wow. I had no idea that earthlings still rely on such obsolete technology. I think I saw a computer like this in a museum..."Lum thought as she eyed Vlad's supercomputer.
The supervillain was currently typing away on said supercomputer and looking for the right gadgets to offer her to further earn her trust. While Lum continued browsing around his lab.
"I think even Great-Grandfather would find a place like this archaic. So primitive, even my old space phone has a faster processor than any of this stuff..."She thought as she looked around in curiosity.
However, something within the lab had caught Lum's attention. Something with a typed label that said "projects under hiatus until further notice" across three ominous-looking pods.
She also spotted what looked to be a half-finished battle suit.
"Hey Vlad, what are these pods for? And is this a battle suit?..."Lum asked while Vlad tried to keep a calm expression on his face.
"Oh...uhh...these aren't really important right now. So pay those no mind. Anyway, wouldn't you rather focus your attention on all this new equipment that'll surely be of use to you in your endeavors with Daniel?..."Vlad said.
Lum immediately races back to Vlad as she hears new equipment and soon forgets about the three ominous pods, much to Vlad's relief. Once she received them, the alien girl smiled in excitement and looked at the evil half-ghost with gratitude.
"Thank you, Vlad. You have no idea how much you have just helped Darling and me here..."Lum said in a grateful tone.
"Oh, it was nothing dear. Of course, I would love to help you two reunite soon..."Vlad added, and Lum still believed him.
"Even so, you have my gratitude..."Lum said, being polite.
"Oh, just trying to help out of the goodness of my heart like any other charming, successful leader and billionaire. Still, I wouldn't mind if you named your first son after me..."Vlad said in a fake friendly way, mostly as sarcasm.
Lum blinked, not getting that he was being sarcastic, and merely honestly responded to him.
"I'll ask Darling about it, and we'll think about it..."Lum said cheerfully, trying not to hurt his feelings.
"I was only half joking. I didn't think she'd actually consider it..."Vlad thought, wondering just how naive this princess really was.
Vlad did a small scoff, that she didn't see as mockery, although the idea of Danny naming his after him was something he couldn't help but like.
"I would simply love to see the look on Daniel's face when she suggests that..."The villain thought with a snicker before he gave the alien princess the device and explained how it worked.
Once done, Lum flew away, eager to plan out her next encounter with Danny. All the while, Vlad kept scheming in his mind as he kept up his friendly act.
"Foolish princess. She's making this far too easy..."Vlad thought as he looked back at the three pods that he had placed in stationary for the past couple of weeks and eyed each of them with a pondering look.
Soon, more ideas formed in his mind and he smirked darkly again.
"Perhaps it's about time that I finally put these to some good use. After all, with so many new aliens popping in and out of nowhere I'll be in need of some new pawns to act as obedient soldiers..."Vlad thought as he ripped off the tape label and added a new name for the pods.
The evil half-ghost smirked, having more plots and ideas forming in his mind and having the alien girl unknowingly carry out his evil plot.
"Soon, I will be one step closer to my victory..."Vlad thought, thinking victory was nearing.
A few days later
It was Monday and the students of Casper High had just arrived at school. Danny and his friends were one of them.
The ghost boy yawned.
"Glad Oyuki and I made things work with Frostbite..."Danny thought.
"Long night?..."Tucker asked.
"Of flirting with your next alien bride?..."Sam asked sarcastically.
Danny frowned.
"Sam. Oyuki and I were NOT flirting. I was just helping her set things up with Frostbite yesterday. That's all..." Danny insisted.
"Sure..."Sam said sarcastically.
Danny rolled his eyes.
Yesterday, he managed to set a meeting with Oyuki and Frostbite and was there during their meeting and saw it the deal going quite well.
"We're just buddies...even if she's beautiful..." He thought, recalling the events from yesterday.
FLASHBACK
Yesterday
Danny was now in the ghost zone. Earlier, he met up with Frostbite and made his request to set up a meeting with Queen Oyuki.
"Oyuki and her people are really having trouble with the snow overflowing around their planet and could use some help relocating some of it. Is there any chance you guys could help?..." Danny asked, having explained what had happened.
This was his ghostly friend's response.
"Great One. Are you serious? You have actually been in contact with THE Queen of Neptune?!..."Frostbite asked, sounding shocked while his followers seemed stunned by this sudden turn of events as well.
Danny was surprised by this reaction.
"Uh...yeah...Do you know her?..." Danny questioned as his allies whispered amongst themselves.
"Know her? No, but we have heard of her. Or more accurately, I've heard of the myths surrounding the title of the ruler of planet Neptune. Legend states that our ancestors had connections with another race of ice-wielders from another world but had lost contact eons ago and that they may have some connections to our distant ancestors. Chieftains of the past, myself included, had long since given up hope of reconnecting with them..."Frostbite explained, confirming to Danny what he had heard from Yukiyo back on Neptune.
"So, that's what happened..."The ghost boy thought.
"So, any chance you can meet with her and help with the snow?..."Danny asked.
Frostbite turned to his followers, who nodded.
"We shall be honored, Great One..."Frostbite said, looking forward to the chance to meet face to face with the mythical people of Neptune and hopefully learn more about them and perhaps something about themselves as well.
Danny smiled.
"Awesome. I'll call her now..."He said as he took out the communicator that Oyuki gave him.
"Great one, what is that?..."Frostbite asked.
"Something Oyuki gave me to keep in contact..."Danny explained as he pressed a button.
After a moment, he got a response.
"Hello..."A demure voice was heard.
"Hi, Oyuki. It's Danny..."Danny said.
"Oh, Danny. I was wondering when I'd be hearing from you again..."Oyuki said.
"I did make a promise. Anyway, I just talked to Frostbite and he says that he's willing to talk to you about the snow thing..."Danny said.
"Splendid. I'll be right over there..."Oyuki said.
"Huh?..."Danny went, about to question what she said.
"Can you please ask Chief Frostbite to grant me and my servant's entry into their lab? I can create a portal to there..."Oyuki asked.
Danny was silent but since Frostbite heard it, he nodded his head, allowing it.
"Oh...uh...sure. He says it's okay..."Danny said.
"Wonderful. A moment..."Oyuki said.
Soon, a portal appeared and soon Oyuki and a few of her servants, including Yukiyo stepped out of it. Danny saw her and smiled.
"Hey..."Danny greeted.
"Greetings..."Oyuki said with a bow.
She soon turned to Frostbite and his followers and did a polite bow to them.
"Greetings. I am Queen Oyuki. The current reigning monarch of Planet Neptune and a friend to your Danny Phantom..."Oyuki said in a polite tone.
Frostbite and his soldiers bowed as well.
"It is an honor to reconnect with your people, your majesty. I am Frostbite, current chieftain of the Far Frozen and humble servant of Danny Phantom..."Frostbite said in a cordial tone.
The queen of Neptune seemed surprised to hear this before turning to the ghost boy.
"Hmm? You have their leader as a servant?..."Oyuki asked.
"He calls himself a servant, but I prefer to think of him as a friend and a trusted ally within the Ghost Zone..." Danny explained, Frostbite raising his head to look touched.
"I am truly honored that you see me as an equal, Great One. You have my many thanks..."Frostbite said.
"Any time, Frostbite..." Danny responded.
Oyuki blinked at this before she smiled slightly and nodded.
"Well..." Oyuki nodded. "Shall we get started?..."She asked as she turned to Frostbite.
The leader of the Far Frozen nodded, before leading her to the chieftain's meeting room where they can discuss many things amongst leaders of respective tribes.
Danny blinked as he saw the two rulers leave for another room, with some of their followers following them. Danny would have followed them, but one of Frostbite's soldiers stopped him.
"Many apologies, Great One. But meetings between the chief and a visiting ruler must be private and can only have those invited. You will have to wait outside..."His second-in-command, Frost, said in a polite tone.
Danny blinked but said nothing and politely nodded his head as he figured this was just protocol. He decided to just wait, hoping that the talks between Frostbite and Oyuki go smoothly and end peacefully soon.
About an hour later
Danny was bored out of his mind now, passing the time practicing his ice powers by making a sheet of ice he played tic-tac-toe with himself.
"Next time I unite two reigning dignitaries, I'll bring a crossword puzzle..."He thought as he had just beaten himself about 2 dozen times in a row.
Just then, he saw Frostbite and Oyuki leave the hut with their respective followers.
"Wonderful, I deeply appreciate your cooperation, Chief Frostbite..."Oyuki said as they exited the hut with their servants.
"Think nothing of it, Queen Oyuki. I believe that this arrangement will be beneficial to both our tribes..."Frostbite said in a jolly way.
Soon, they went towards Danny, who looked at them in curiosity.
"So, how did it go?..." Danny asked.
"Queen Oyuki and I have come to an agreement. My people would loan her land, and the technology needed to properly dispose of the excessive snow and ice..."Frostbite began.
"In exchange, my people will provide his tribe access to our portal technology. An arrangement that we both believe will be helpful to both of us. As well as give us a chance to learn more about our ancestors' history and find new allies..."Oyuki said.
"Cool. Pun not intended..." Danny said.
"Thank goodness, aside from the boredom, my biggest concern was that I might have caused an unintentional feud between two kingdoms. I'm so glad that didn't happen..." Danny thought, worried that he'd have to fight Oyuki again if that happened.
The leader of the Far Frozen turned to the savior of the ghost zone, looking grateful as he spoke to him.
"We would like to thank you for this exciting opportunity, Great One. It is quite fortunate you have met this lovely young lady..."Frostbite said.
"Uh, sure. Don't mention it..."Danny said, not sure how else to respond to this.
Oyuki smiled in Danny's direction, which he noticed but seemed confused by it.
"Why is she smiling like that? Maybe she's just happy to finally solve that snow issue..."The ghost boy thought, being clueless.
"Pardon me, but why do you refer to Danny as the Great One?..."Oyuki asked, wondering why the leader of this tribe had such high regards to the ghost boy.
Frostbite smiled.
"I see that he never told you. Well, the Great One here once lead some of the Ghost Zone's riddance into battle and managed to defeat the evil ghost king, Pariah Dark. An evil, vicious tyrant who planned to siege both our world and the human world as his domain to either to serve under him or risk his unmatched wrath. Thankfully, the great one managed to defeat Pariah Dark and re-sealed him back into his sarcophagus of eternal slumber. And for that, we are forever in indebted to him..."Frostbite said as he retold the events that happened during that time.
Oyuki listened, while Danny looked flustered a bit as Frostbite kept praising his heroic actions. Once he was done, the queen of Neptune then stared at Danny and wondered how much of this tall-sounding tale was actually true. Even so, Oyuki smiled almost affectionately at Danny after hearing that tale.
"Hmm...I see that my first impression of you was accurate. You are indeed a noble, worthy soul..."Oyuki said, sounding somewhat impressed.
Danny was still flustered.
"Um...thanks..."He said, wondering what exactly her impression of him even was.
"Worthy for what?..."He wondered, but Oyuki kept smiling.
Frostbite noticed the glances between the two and presumed that something was going on between these two. He started to jump to conclusions.
"Permit me to say this...but you both have my greatest of blessings should you two decide to be King and Queen of Neptune..." Frostbite happily declared.
Danny's face turned red as he tried to set things straight and clarify Frostbite's misunderstanding of the type of relationship he had with the queen of Neptune.
"Umm...we-we're just friends..."Danny said, stuttering a bit.
"Plus, I'm still dealing with a lightening princess, who won't admit that she and I aren't married..." He thought, feeling mentally exhausted again from simply reminding himself of his current problems with Lum.
"Oh? But the way you two looked at each other seemed to indicate that you both had become...close..." Frostbite pointed out.
"Close? I mean we did become friends after fighting each other, so I don't know if close is the word I'd use. But I guess we can call each other friends..." Danny said, avoiding eye contact at first until he remembered about Lum and sighed.
"Plus, I already have to deal with her crazy friend wanting to marry me. I don't have time to date her or be mistaken to be dating a queen on top of all of that. Even if she's way hotter and cooler... wait... WHY DID I THINK THAT?!..."The ghost boy thought as his face turned a brighter red.
"Great One? Why does your face look so warm? It's freezing here..." Frostbite pointed out the way Danny's face was, while the ghost boy tried to brush Frostbite's concerns aside.
"Allergies! Don't worry about it, Frostbite, it's not that important..."Danny lied as he tried to hide the idea that he may actually be attracted to Oyuki and tried to change the subject.
Oyuki, meanwhile, hid her enjoyment from what Frostbite said earlier.
"I suppose he's not ready. That's okay...I am patient..." She thought, trying to hide a slight smirk on her face.
Danny never noticed this, denying Frostbite's belief that there is more to their relationship than platonic interactions.
End of Flashback
Present Time
That's how it all turned out and thankfully, things went smoothly between the Far Frozen and Oyuki's kingdom.
"I won't share the part where Frostbite thought Oyuki and I were getting married. Still, I wonder how different the Far Frozen is going to be now that they have an alliance with the Neptune Kingdom?..."Danny thought as he and his friends went inside the school.
Once there, he headed to his locker to grab his belongings for the first period. While also thinking about Oyuki's fulfilling her end of the promise, they both made to one another. Danny managed to help solve the overflowing snow problem on Neptune for the queen. He wondered if she could somehow help him with his Lum problem.
"I just hope that Oyuki keeps her word and talks to Lum..."Danny thought as he grabbed his school supplies.
Once the queen of Neptune returned to his head, Danny had a small smile on his face, though he shook his head clear, making sure not to let what Frostbite said remain in his mind.
The ghost boy headed to homeroom with his friends, unaware of what was in store that day.
Meanwhile
On Neptune
Oyuki was back on her planet now, using the large device that Frostbite and his people had loaned her.
Just as promised, it managed to get rid of the snow by teleporting it to a section of the deepest icy canyons within the Ghost Zone in a place with no living creatures nearby and thus, cannot bother anyone. Once done and seeing the path to the palace and the capital city all clear, she smiled.
"I must commend Chief Frostbite. He did not exaggerate when he said that this would be ideal and works wonders on any snowy terrain..."Oyuki said, smiling.
"Seems our alliance with Phantom had more benefits than anticipated..."Yukiyo said, smiling.
"It'll be even more helpful after our scientist manages to recreate this impressive piece of technology for others to use..."Oyuki said, while her other servants kept shoveling more snow and dumping it into the portal.
However, some of them weren't too happy now.
"Darn it. Why couldn't they at least let us have those two earthlings come to at least help with the snow?..."One girl complained.
"The one with glasses was annoying but at least he helped out with a little bit of sweet talking..."Another grumbled before a smirk appeared on her face. "Still, I'd prefer if that cute guy with the white hair stayed. He was really strong and kind of cute too..."She said, blushing a bit.
Her fellow servants agreed with her.
"I'll say. I still can't believe he was able to fight Queen Oyuki like that. No one has ever managed to get a tie with her before..."Another girl said.
"Plus, those ice powers of his, while different, weren't unimpressive. Even when the battle got hectic, he still somehow managed to keep his allies safe and unfrozen..."Another said, smiling as she recalled that battle.
"I would love to see him again..."One servant said, sounding intrigued.
"Me too, he might be scrawny, but he is cute. And he has such a beautiful shade of snow-white hair..."Another servant said, blushing and giggling a bit.
Oyuki heard this and frowned before she got their attention again.
"Ahem!..."Oyuki said in a slightly raised voice, which alarmed her servants.
They stopped what they were doing and looked nervous as the queen spoke to them.
"I do believe that you all still have a lot more snow to shovel off the roads. I don't think now is the appropriate time to gossip. Especially regarding Danny Phantom when he's not present..."Oyuki said in a strict tone, barely any emotion on her face but her servants knew better.
"F-Forgive, Your Highness! We'll get back to work right away!..."They all exclaimed as they went to shovel the snow as their lives depended on it.
Oyuki rolled her eyes before she headed back inside the palace. With the snow issues now resolved, she knew she had another matter to attend to.
"Hmm...it has been a day. I best contact Lum. It's best not to put something like this off for too long, especially with someone like her..."She thought as she went to contact her old friend.
All while knowing this will be one conversation that will be quite difficult, to say the least. Her head servant saw this and knew what she was up to now.
"Do be careful, my Queen. You may currently rule over Neptune, but you know not how thin the ice is on the path you now venture on..."Yukiyo thought, still very concerned about Oyuki going after Lum's beloved Danny.
In Lum's Spaceship
"All done!..."Lum declared cheerfully in the middle of her lab.
She held a vial in her hand which contained a pink liquid. It was the same formula she used to disguise herself as an earthling.
She had planned to see Danny today and decided she needed to see him as soon as possible. However, she knew that he was likely at school right now, so she also knew that she would have to go as "Lynn U. McVader".
"What's that?..."Ten asked as he hovered closer.
"It's my disguise. With this, I can look human again and I can go see Darling..."Lum explained in a happy tone of voice as she showed it off.
"To apologize to him for breaking into his house and destroying his living room..."Ten snarked and Lum flinched.
"That was that pajama-wearing ghost's fault!..."Lum insisted while Ten sent her a flat look. "Mostly..."She said weakly, but Ten's expression didn't change.
"I'll make it up to Darling and his family soon. Right now, I need to work on fixing our marriage..."Lum insisted.
Ten sighed.
"Lum, stop it. Danny is really mad, and I told you the whole "supervillain" thing was just going to make things worse. Why can't you just give Danny some space and maybe, I dunno, swallow your pride and be the one who apologizes? Please, this has gone on long enough and it wouldn't hurt to say sorry. And give him some time to cool off..."The oni child pleaded.
Lum frowned.
"He's had plenty of time to cool off and I'll apologize to him when he apologizes to me for sending me to Saturn. And also give me an explanation as to why he sent me to Saturn in the first place. Even if Danny did make a mistake, I already forgive him for it..."Lum said, being stubborn.
Her cousin sighed.
"Lum, don't you think that you're overreacting just a little bit? Plus, Danny is still mad about what YOU did. Saying you're sorry would at least make him less mad. Is admitting to a mistake you made such a big deal to you?..."Ten said, but his cousin still insisted that she was doing the right thing now.
Lum felt some guilt. She did feel bad about upsetting her darling, but she was desperate to get rid of Rei. She did want to say something and she knew that she also would have already made up for it if he didn't kick her out of the house. However, Lum still felt like he went too far doing that and she still felt hurt by all the cruel things he told her.
She wanted him to take those words back and to take her back too, as well as beg for her forgiveness... which clouded some of her actions.
"I admit that maybe I went a bit too far. But Darling shouldn't have kicked us out and said all those awful, hurtful things to me. That was going too far too. Once he takes us back, I'll make up for the little mess in his house by being the best wife in the universe..."Lum said matter-of-factly.
"But Danny says you guys aren't even married and that he never proposed to you..."Ten reminded and Lum got angry.
"He's just being stubborn about his feelings!..."Lum insisted, hating that this was brought up again.
Her cousin tried to say something, but his lovesick cousin just continued to insist that she was doing the right thing.
"Ten, you are still young but all is fair in love and war and this is how we do things as adults from our home world. We use anything we have to our advantage to achieve victory. Love is like war, do what you can to win..."Lum said matter-of-factly.
"Lum!..."Ten tried again, but his cousin insisted that this was the right thing to do.
"Lum, are you sure about that? Plus, maybe rushing into marriage might not be a good idea for now...maybe taking a slower pace could be a better option?..."The alien child said, but his cousin still insisted that she was doing nothing wrong.
"Darling is still being stubborn but in time, we will make up and we can go home with him..."Lum said in a naive, optimistic way.
"Just promise me that you'll stop using stuff from that creepy vampire weirdo guy. I don't think working with a superhero's archenemy is going to help win his heart..."Ten said, still distrusting that guy.
"I told you not to talk about Mr. Vlad like that. He's trying to help and sure...he's weird...but he's a valuable ally and I'm sure that his heart is in the right place..."Lum said, still believing she was right.
"Besides, if he proves to be trouble, I'll deal with him the same way our people deal with troublemakers..."She said, her fingers sparking with electricity.
"At least she's not totally lost and clueless..."Ten thought while sighing.
"At least let me go with you. I want to see Danny too..."He said, hoping he could at least try and stop Lum before she made another big mistake.
Lum was the look on his face and gave in since she didn't have it in her to refuse her baby cousin's request to visit his role model.
"Alright. Luckily, I made a little extra, so there should be enough for both of us..."Lum said happily.
Before either could use the potion, Lum got a message on her ship's computer. She smiled when she saw who it was from.
"Oh, it's Oyuki..."Lum said happily as she went to answer.
Soon, she saw one of her dear childhood friends on her computer's monitor.
"Greetings, Lum..." Oyuki said.
"Oh, hi, Oyuki! Guess where I'm going?..." Lum asked, happy to see her again.
"To pester Danny while he's at school?..."Oyuki asked in a deadpan way.
"It's not pestering! I'm j-..." Lum paused, noticing what Oyuki just said. "Wait... how do you know he's at school?..."The alien princess demanded.
"He informed me that he usually attends classes around this time when we last spoke in person..." Oyuki stated.
Lum paused for seconds, what she heard didn't reach her mind until three more seconds. That's when she reacted.
"HAVE YOU BEEN TRYING TO STEAL MY DARLING?!..." Lum exclaimed with enough volume to almost break the rule that in space, no one can hear you scream.
"No...not at all..."Oyuki said.
"Not yet anyway..." The queen of Neptune thought but chose to not mention that.
"I had been sending snow from my world into his basement laboratory and, after some talk, I agreed to stop and we've become allies. He was even nice enough to introduce me to one of his friends, the leader of a tribe called the Far Frozen and they provided the aid my people need to deal with the extra snow crises..." Oyuki stated, giving a general recap of what happened these past few days.
Lum, hearing this, felt a bit of suspicion before speaking up.
"So... what is he to you?..." She asked, wanting to be sure about something.
"Just a friend. One who helped me out quite a bit..." Oyuki said with a small smile.
She was not lying; Danny was a friend to her. One whom she genuinely enjoys the company of and admires his heroism.
Hearing this, Lum misunderstood the reason for Oyuki's call and beamed with joy.
"Oh? So does that mean I have an ally to convince my Darling to take me back? Wonderful!..." Lum went. "Well, I think with your help, I ca-..."
"Actually..." Oyuki cut her off, much to Lum's surprise. "...I would like to ask if you could... stop..."She added, trying to say her words as delicately as possible.
"...come again?..." Lum asked, her smile dropping for a moment.
Ten heard all of this and watched the conversation become serious.
"Danny tells me that his proposal to you was not true. That you overheard him and misunderstood his actions. And that you were willing to work alongside a sworn enemy of his to try and claim him. Is this all true?..." Oyuki asked, showing no emotion.
"Well... Darling is being stubborn..." Lum crossed her arms and pouted.
"So... that is a yes?..." Oyuki asked, while her old friend flinched.
Even so, the princess of Uru tried to insist that she wasn't doing anything wrong.
"I'm only doing what's necessary. If he just played along with my lie to get rid of Rei, we'd probably be happy and getting along like a proper couple by now..." Lum went.
"...so you did do as he complained..." Oyuki said, disappointment in her tone despite her lack of expression.
"He's my Darling and I will do what I can!..." Lum shouted. "So... are you with me or against me?!..."The alien princess demanded.
"I don't want to pick sides, Lum. I am your friend... and Danny's friend as well. That does not mean I want you two together, especially since he does not love you..." Oyuki went, trying to reason with her.
The princess of Uru did NOT like hearing any of this at all. Lum gritted her teeth, hair flashing colors as she tried to hold back her electricity and she started to jump to conclusions.
"I know what this is! You want to steal him from me like Ran does!..." Lum snapped.
"Lum? Careful..." Ten spoke, worrying her electricity would overpower the ship.
"I cannot steal what is not yours. Should Danny find he desires me... that is his choice..." Oyuki said, neither denying nor admitting to any of these accusations.
"A-Ha! I knew it! You like him too, right?!..." Lum went.
Oyuki gasped at this before her eyes darting away. She noticed the accusing glare her old friend sent her. Oyuki did not like it and she did not like being put on the spot like this. Still, she tried to be blunt with her old friend.
"I will not lie... I admire him and I am grateful for his help... But we are just friends..." Oyuki said, trying to speak with a complete lack of emotion in her voice.
However, the slight pink tint in her cheeks gave away her interest in Danny could be greater than friendship.
"STAY AWAY FROM MY DARLING! IF YOU GET IN THE WAY, I WON'T FORGIVE YOU OR INVITE YOU TO OUR OFFICIAL WEDDING!..." Lum shouted before slamming her fist on the console, intending to turn it off.
She did not.
"You missed..." Oyuki said in a flat tone.
Lum gritted her teeth once more and slammed her fist, missing again.
"You missed again..." Ten said.
Lum kept pounding the console, missing.
"No..." Oyuki went as Lum continued. "No..." She repeated with an eye roll.
"Oh, for crying out loud!..." Ten went to push the right button.
The call ended.
"Why did you do that?!..." Lum snapped.
"Because if I didn't, you'd break that thing..." Ten muttered, while his cousin crossed her arms.
On the inside, Lum is furious.
"If Oyuki thinks that she can steal my Darling away, she has another thing coming!..."Lum said in anger, electricity sparking again.
Ten saw this and panicked.
"Not again..."Ten said as he watched his cousin zap one of her nearby gadgets in anger, frying it completely.
On Neptune
Oyuki saw the message end. She saw how stubborn her childhood friend was and sighed.
"I see that she hasn't changed a bit. I see that it's going to take more than just talking to get her to listen. I better get some help with this..."Oyuki thought, as she decided to try and contact ANOTHER old friend to help her with this or at least offer some advice.
A certain friend of hers who will either be an ally or another rival should she meet Danny, but at least she would be someone of more sound mind than Lum.
Hopefully.
Back on Earth
It was now free period and Danny and his friends had just finished dealing with their respective classes. Tucker had his hands filled with math class earlier, while Sam had let some of her frustrations out in P.E., and Jazz was still busy with a pop quiz in her class.
Now, the original Team Phantom was taking a much-needed break right now.
"Finally, I thought class would never end..."Danny muttered.
"You too, huh?..."Sam asked.
"Well, most of my classes are already dealt with...all except chemistry and English with that totally useless homework I need to give Lancer later. How did you two do in your classes?..." Danny asked as the last class was one of the few where they had separate classes.
"I pretty much aced all my P.E. sessions. Though Tesslaff scolded me since I went a little overboard with dodgeball and accidentally broke a window..." Sam said, since she had used it for her misplaced aggression.
"You really got to learn to control that temper..."Tucker said, while Sam sent him an annoyed look, which he ignored.
"Anyway, math was a breeze for me. Though, Mr. Felucca's never-ending homework is just as bad as ever..."The techno-geek said, hating that they had extra homework lately.
The trio continued to walk and talk about what to do next, both about school and about certain pests who still wouldn't leave them alone.
"So, after free period is chemistry..."Danny said.
"Speaking of chemistry, namely the negative kind, how's your bride-to-be doing, Danny?..."Sam asked sarcastically.
"Not funny, Sam. And if you must know, I can't say much since I haven't seen her lately..." Danny said, sounding a tiny bit hopeful that he might finally be off the hook.
Though, he doubted it would be that easy since things rarely were in his life.
"Sounds like your luck might be turning around. That or maybe Ran or Rei are keeping Lum busy..."Tucker said in his usual way.
"Either way, at least I'm finally taking a break. Let's just hope it stays that way..."Danny said, while his gothic friend spoke up next.
"Right now, let's just focus on chemistry and the rest of our classes for now. After that Winter Wonderland, a little bit of normal is almost inviting..."Sam said, while Danny was still thinking of his problems with certain obnoxious aliens that he hadn't seen in days.
"No sign of those two... Hopefully, Oyuki's already at least got Lum off my back..."The ghost boy thought.
"I hear ya. As for chemistry, it's so annoying whenever I have to wear those safety goggles over my glasses..."Tucker muttered
Danny and Sam stare at him.
"What? Wearing those things over my glasses gets a little uncomfortable sometimes..."Tucker explained.
Danny said nothing as his mind went back to his issues with Lum and her "friends".
"I sure hope that Oyuki could reason with her. Lum is already a handful but Ran and Rei are still a problem too..."Danny thought as they walked through the halls.
During this time, Dash and his friends were being their loud and annoying selves as usual. By boasting about their supposed popularity, their athletic abilities, and their belief they were untouchable. Such as Dash once again bragging loudly about the last football game that he won and kept showing off.
"And then, I scored the winning touchdown! Then the crowd went wild as they cheered for me! Again!..."Dash said as he recounted the events of the last game.
"We know, Dash. We were there..."Star said in a bored tone, as she stared at her nails while Dash continued to gloat.
"Yeah, we all did great at the game..."Steve said, somewhat annoyed Dash was taking all of the credit again but didn't say anything due to being lower on the social hierarchy.
"Plus, the crowd also loved my cheer squad's totally awesome cheering routine..."Paulina added as she looked at her own nails.
"Dash totally won us the game with that one kick to the field goal..."Kwan said, mostly since Dash nonverbally ordered him to continue.
"Yeah, we know. But make sure to save that winning football throwing arm for the next game..."Dale reminded.
Dash didn't seem to notice as he kept bragging about winning another game for the school and his plans to do so again soon.
"No need to tell me twice. Heck, once I win the next game, we're all getting pizza at Crusty's. You're invited..."Dash said, being as arrogant as ever.
"Sure, fine Dash. I don't want pizza, but it's better than going to that boring restaurant my parents want me to go to with them this weekend..." Paulina said in a disinterested way as her eyes were on her phone.
Dash didn't seem to notice as he kept talking to his fellow A-listers.
"Anyway, I totally should work on my autograph signature for when I'm a football star..."Dash said in a gloating way.
"Totally, you'd rock..."Kwan said, being a sycophant as always.
"I know. My name is going to be a treasure before graduation..."Dash said obnoxiously, while his friends pretended to listen to him.
The blonde jock then failed to notice that his shoelaces were untied. He then ended up tripping over the untied shoelaces, while his friends laughed at him. Rather than admit his mistake, Dash pointed to his feet, silently ordering Mikey to tie them for him
"Hurry up, Geek! I got things to do, and I can't let these trophy arms of mine get too overworked, got to give them time to cool off!..."The blonde jock ordered.
Danny saw this and rolled his eyes.
"Seriously, if he is too lazy to tie his own shoes, even doing manual labor to one of his former targets will be too good for him..."He thought, shaking his head.
He headed outside, wanting some fresh air and to clear his mind, as well as to avoid Dash being in another one of his infamous bad moods.
"I can't believe that I miss Oyuki's yeti servant, at least he was smarter than Dash though not by much..."Danny mumbled under his breath as he thought about recent events in both his school life and superhero life.
Such as his unwanted bride and her small army of psycho aliens, as well as his own high school drama.
"I wonder if other secret teenage superheroes have to deal with problems similar to my own..."He thought.
After taking a moment to collect himself, the half-ghost teen decided to face the rest of his school day. He was about to head back inside, only to hear the LAST voice he wanted to hear right now.
"Hello again, Darling~..."
Danny stopped in place. He frowned, hoping that he heard that wrong.
"No way! Does she seriously have the nerve to show herself here of all places?!..." He thought with a glare before he turned around.
There, Lum in her "Lynn U. McVader" disguise. He rolled his eyes, as he was hoping not to see her again so soon.
Or ever.
"Seriously? You're here now? Why are you even here?..."Danny asked, sounding impatient and unable to believe she was there.
"What can I say? I just couldn't stay away from you for too long, Darling..."Lum said.
In her arms, was a little child with black hair and a green shirt with sneakers, yellow shorts, and a yellow baseball cap. One who Danny found familiar.
"Um, who's that?..."Danny asked.
"Hi, Danny..."Ten greeted, happy to see his hero again.
"Ten? What happened to you?..."Danny asked, surprised to see him.
"Lum let me try some of her potion. So this is what I look like while we're in public..."Ten said, smiling.
"I see..."Danny said, before turning to Lum again.
"And the reason the both of you are here is why?..." The ghost boy demanded.
"Simple. We both really wanted to see you. It felt like we hadn't seen you in weeks..."Lum said in a melodramatic way.
"It's only been a few days at most. And remember what I said about staying away from my school..." Danny said, angry that she was here again.
"You told Lum to do that, but not Lynn..."Lum/Lynn said playfully, refusing to leave.
Danny glared at her.
"Seriously?! She's using that flimsy loophole as an excuse to throw caution in the wind just so she can keep bugging me?!..."He thought.
"You know what I meant! Now get lost before I have to teleport you again!..."Danny warned.
"You wouldn't dare!..."Lum said, glaring at him.
"We both know that I would. And I rather not have Ten here have to see me send you into space like last time..." Danny said.
"I already have..."Ten thought in sadness, as he watched Danny continue to argue with "Lynn".
It didn't take long before other students spotted her and as always, the guys went nuts.
"Oh man, Lynn's back!..."One guy, Joey said in excitement as she ran towards her.
"She's even prettier than I remember!..."
"Why's she with that loser Fenton? I thought they broke up already!..."
"We were never together in the first place..."Danny thought in irritation as Lum's fan club surrounded her.
However, Lynn's admirers weren't the only ones that surrounded them. Paulina and the other A-Listers spotted them and frowned.
"Seriously, you're back?..."Paulina said in a snarky way.
Lum mentally frowned but sent her a playful smile.
"Of course, I really wanted to see Darling again..."Lum said as she looked at Danny, who kept glaring at her.
"I'm not your darling!..."He said, but he was apparently ignored again.
Before Paulina could say a backhanded remark, something else caught her attention. Some of the girls saw Lynn holding a disguised Ten in her arms and found him adorable.
"Aw, who's this?..."Paulina said, gushing as she saw Ten in his human disguise.
"This is my little cousin...um...Tim...Tim McVader..."Lum lied, using the first Earth name she could come up with.
"Hi..."Ten/Tim greeted with a wave and the girls all found him adorable.
"Aw, he's so cute!..."
"Hi, little guy. Aren't you the cutest thing in the world?..."Another girl said in a cooing way.
Ten smiled and decided to keep up his innocent toddler act in front of them.
"Hello..."He said in a baby-like way, trying to look cuter than before.
The girls all found him even cuter than before and continued to dote on him.
"Aw, he's so adorable!..."Star said as she started to dote on the toddler.
"Yeah, he's almost as adorable as me..."Paulina said in an egotistical way as she cooed at the toddler that she didn't know was a space alien.
Danny saw this and saw an opportunity to escape. However, he also knew that he needed to get Lum out of there before she accidentally zapped something, or someone discovered that she and Ten were aliens.
"Think quick Fenton, how do you excuse yourself, Lum, and Ten from this crowd without raising suspicion from everyone?..." The ghost boy thought.
However, his problems did not end there. Since Lum/Lynn and Ten/Tim weren't the only new arrivals to Casper High.
Elsewhere
Unknown to the ghost boy and alien princess, two more figures appeared at Casper High. Albeit separately and unaware that the other is here now.
And one of them was in a really bad mood right now.
Once the front doors of the school were open, a familiar pink-haired girl walked through while stuffing a strange-looking alien device in her purse.
"Finally found the place..."She thought in a wicked way, hiding it all behind a sweet and innocent smile.
