It was a bright and sunny day in the world of Remnant. Team RWBY were training, highly anticipating the upcoming Vytal Festival tournament, hoping to win. They had recently prevented an outbreak of Grimm from overtaking Vale, and as well as managed to capture the notorious criminal Roman Torchwick into Atlesian custody. Now their main focus was to win the tournament at the Vytal Festival. Yet perhaps destiny has another plan for them.
There they were, deep within Emerald Forest, training their hardest. Ruby Rose, the team's leader, stood with her trusty scythe, Crescent Rose, as she came up with tips and battle strategies.
"Oh! Oh! Weiss, how about you make a giant ice slide?!" Ruby excitedly suggested.
Weiss Schnee, heiress of the Schnee Dust Company, elegantly stood in place while shooting icicles at targets with her rapier, Myrtenaster.
"Ruby, how would a giant ice slide be useful?" Weiss asked. "It would be epic and cool! Also fun!" Ruby said. "Yeah. No," Weiss said.
Two shotgun gauntlets fired at the targets, completely blazing them. Yang Xiao Long, older sister to Ruby, smirked as she "nailed the target" with her dual shotgun gauntlets, Ember Celica.
"I dunno, a giant ice slide does sound like fun," Yang said. "Not you too!" Weiss complained.
A rope swung through the trees like a vine, and then a figure sliced a target clean in half. Blake Belladonna swung from the forest and landed with her team with her weapon, Gambol Shroud.
"Could it be useful?" she asked. "Seriously, I can't believe you're considering this," Weiss said. "I'm just saying it can be useful, like using it as a means of transportation," Blake said. "I mean when you put it that way- Wait! No! Stop infecting me with your mindsets!" Weiss yelled.
The rest of the team laughed.
"Just think about it, Ice Queen," Yang said. "Never," Weiss said. "I think we had enough training for today guys. How about we head back and grab a bite?" Ruby suggested. "I could go for some food," Yang said. "You always say that," Blake said. "Well it's true," Yang said.
They were about to begin their way back to Beacon Academy, until they had heard a strange noise. They looked up and saw what looked like cracks in the sky.
"Is anyone else seeing this?" Ruby asked. "How could we not?" Blake asked.
Suddenly the cracks began to grow, until an object popped out. A red biplane, smoking from its rudder.
"Is that a plane?!" Weiss exclaimed. "LOOK OUT BELOW!" yelled a voice. "Run!" Ruby yelled.
Team RWBY narrowly jumped out of the way as the red biplane flew past them, deeper into the forest.
"We should follow," Ruby said. "We don't even know what that was," Weiss said. "Still, we should follow," Ruby said.
Weiss was about to protest more until Ruby ran ahead. Blake and Yang soon followed, and so did Weiss..
"Come on, this might be fun," Yang said. "I never agreed to this!" Weiss yelled. "Yet you're still following," Blake said. "Just to make sure none of you die!" Weiss yelled.
They traversed the forest, following the trail of broken trees and smoke. Once they reached what seemed to be the epicenter of the forest they found the red biplane, still intact but deep in a crater on the ground.
"We found it," Ruby said, "We should check for survivors."
It was then that they heard voices coming from the crater below.
"It seems we landed in a dimension parallel to our own," a voice said. "Tails, English please," another voice said. "We're in another dimension," the one known as Tails said.
"Did you hear that?" Ruby asked. "Kind of hard not to, they're pretty loud," Weiss said.
"Should we go see what they're talking about?" Yang asked. "I guess so," Ruby said.
They walked around the edge of the crater, still behind the tree line, expecting to find people in the plane's crash site, yet to their surprise it wasn't people. On the spot they found a blue hedgehog, a yellow two-tailed fox, and a red echidna.
"What are those things?" Weiss whispered. "Are they Faunus?" Ruby asked. "They don't look like any Faunus I've ever seen," Blake said. "They just look like giant anthropomorphic animals," Weiss said.
"Hey, did you hear something?" the red echidna asked. "Are you sure it's not just in your head Knuckles?" the blue hedgehog asked. "No Sonic, I swear I heard something," Knuckles said. "Uh huh, sure," Sonic said, "Tails, I think Knux over here hit his head a little too hard." "I'm not crazy!" Knuckles exclaimed.
"I think he heard us," Ruby whispered. "You think?" Weiss questioned. "Alright, I've been itching for a fight," Yang said. "I don't think we should fi-" Blake said.
"Found it!" Knuckles yelled.
Knuckles appeared just above them, his fist ready to punch. At the last second Team RWBY jumped out of the way as Knuckles punched the ground they stood on.
"You thought you could spy on us eh?!" Knuckles exclaimed. "Whoa! Whoa! Wait I'm sure we can talk-" Ruby said until she was interrupted. "Oh yeah! Let's do this!" Yang yelled. "Yang!" Ruby yelled.
It was too late, Yang charged ahead and fired at Knuckles. Knuckles kept himself low as he charged at Yang. They both extended their fists and simultaneously punched each other in the fist, although Knuckles' punch was stronger and it launched Yang at a tree. Yang shook her head and saw a single strand of her hair fall.
"YOU MONSTER!" Yang screamed.
Yang's hair began to flame as her eyes turned red as she activated her Semblance.
"Now we're talking!" Knuckles yelled.
Sonic ran up to Knuckles.
"You sure this is a good idea, Knux?" Sonic asked. "Just watch me," Knuckles said. "Alright, I think it's your funeral," Sonic said.
Knuckles turned to Yang, who immediately punched him in the chin and launched into the branch of the tree.
"Okay! No fair!" Knuckles yelled as he stood back up.
Sonic just watched the fight, seemingly uninterested and bored in it, and then Weiss pointed Myrtenaster to him.
"Alright creature, who are you?" Weiss asked. "I'm a hedgehog," Sonic said, "I thought that was obvious?"
Weiss shot out icicles at Sonic. Sonic stepped out of the way, yawning.
"You're gonna have to be faster than that, Ice Queen," Sonic said. "Why does everyone call me that?" Weiss asked. "Probably because you shoot ice," Sonic said. "Fair point," Weiss said.
Weiss immediately stabbed Myrtenaster into the ground and froze the ground beneath herself and Sonic.
"Okay, this is new," Sonic muttered.
Weiss summoned a glyph right behind her and launched herself at Sonic. Sonic tried to run but the ice left zero friction so in a last ditch effort he jumped, rolled into a ball, and slipped straight into the tree, still dodging Weiss' attack.
"Okay Ice Queen, it looks like you asked for it!" Sonic exclaimed.
Sonic quickly jumped onto the tree, rolled into a ball, and committed a homing attack on Weiss and then landed on another tree.
"Okay, you are officially more annoying than Ruby and Yang combined," Weiss said. "Thank you, I take that as a compliment," Sonic said.
Tails was in the air, flying, seeing something swinging in the trees.
"What the?" he questioned.
Blake immediately appeared right behind him. Tails immediately threw a wrench at her and seemingly made her disappear.
"AH! I'm so sorry!" Tails exclaimed. "Don't be," Blake said.
Tails looked down and was immediately uppercutted by Blake. Tails quickly shook his head and regained his footing in the air.
"How did she do that?" Tails questioned.
Tails observed the swinging in the trees, noticing Blake approaching him again. He squinted carefully at the tree line and noticed more swinging.
"It's a clone!" Tails exclaimed.
Tails quickly dodged the Shadow Blake and got his wrench ready and once the real Blake popped up he threw the wrench directly at her face.
"Ow!" Blake yelped as she landed on the ground.
Tails swiftly landed in front of her.
"Okay, Mr. Fox Guy, you've got moves," Blake said. "I could say the same," Tails said.
Ruby immediately charged forward and using her Semblance she moved fast enough to tackle Weiss to the ground.
"Ruby! What the heck?!" she complained.
She spun Crescent Rose real quick and as Knuckles and Yang were about to punch each other again, Ruby immediately shot Ice Dust from Crescent Rose and created a pillar in between Knuckles and Yang, which they both smacked their faces into.
"OW!" Knuckles and Yang yelped. "Alright! Everyone stop it!" Ruby yelled.
Yang held her face, trying to clear the swelling. Weiss stood up and melted the ice she made on the ground. Blake then arrived with the rest of the team. Sonic jumped from the trees as Knuckles approached him and Tails flew by his side.
"Alright, are we all calm now?" Ruby asked. "I am, as long as that blue rat is calm," Weiss said. "Hedgehog! I'm a hedgehog!" Sonic exclaimed. "Alright, who are you guys?" Ruby asked. "I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog," Sonic introduced himself. "I'm Miles Prower, but I mostly go by Tails," Tails said. "Is it because of the two tails?" Blake questioned. "Precisely," Tails said. "I'm Knuckles. Nuff' said," Knuckles said. "Don't mind him, he's a bit of a Knucklehead," Sonic said. "Hm," Knuckles groaned.
"Well I'm Ruby, and these are my teammates, and we're Team RWBY," Ruby said. "Team RWBY huh, don't you girls seem a little young to be exploring the forest?" Sonic asked. "I'll have you know we're huntresses-in-training, and this is our training session that all of you rudely interrupted," Weiss said.
Suddenly the cracks in the sky began to grow once more. Something else was coming.
"What is that?" Ruby asked. "That's not good," Sonic said, "Run!"
A checkered pattern loop de loop exited out of the cracks, heading straight towards them. They ran as it crash landed where they previously were. Once the dust settled, Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were the first to check it out.
"Is this what I think it is?" Knuckles said. "Yeah. It's a loop de loop from Green Hill. It seems reality is destabilizing faster than I thought," Tails said. "Huh, so does that mean our world is coming into this one?" Sonic asked. "Precisely," Tails said.
Team RWBY joined them to check out this crash site.
"What is this?" Weiss asked. "Something from our world," Sonic nonchalantly said. "What?" Weiss questioned, "What does that mean?" "Exactly what he said, Ice Queen. We're from a different world, and we're here to save your home and our own," Knuckles said. "What are you talking about?" Blake asked.
"Well I know this is going to be hard to believe, but we're from a different dimension," Tails said. "I mean it's not that hard to believe, you are giant talking animals," Ruby said. "Yeah, yeah," Yang and Blake said. "What?! How are you three possibly calm about this!?" Weiss exclaimed. "Relax Ice Queen. Besides, this type of thing happens to us all the time," Sonic said.
Tails took out a tablet-like device, his Miles Electric. He took some scans of the loop de loop, while Ruby poked over his shoulders, eyes gleaming with curiosity as she stared at the Miles Electric.
"Oh! What is that?" Ruby asked. "This? This is the Miles Electric, my own personal invention," Tails said. "You're an inventor!" Ruby exclaimed. "Sure am. Not to brag or anything, but I did build a TV out of paper clips, and reprogrammed a supercomputer using dishwasher detergent and a toothpick," Tails said. "That sounds an awful lot like bragging," Weiss said.
The Miles Electric beeped as Tails read the date scrolling up his screen.
"So?" Knuckles asked. "Just as I suspected. It seems there is a great destabilization in the space-time continuum, causing both our dimensions to converge," Tails said. "Meaning?" Yang asked. "Yeah, English please," Sonic said. "Meaning both our worlds are on a collision course. Things from our world are coming to this one, and once the collision course reaches its peak, let's just say there might not be anything left," Tails said. "You mean both our worlds will be destroyed!" Weiss exclaimed. "Yep," Tails said. "Well let's get a move on!" Sonic said.
Sonic turned around and was taking a few steps, about to run off until…
"Wait, do you even know what you're going to do?" Ruby asked.
Sonic immediately turned around and returned to the group.
"Fair point," Sonic said. "Our hero," Blake sarcastically said. "I'm going to need to track some data, but unfortunately most of my resources were left behind in my workshop," Tails said. "You could come with us to Beacon. Maybe Professor Ozpin will be willing to lend a hand," Ruby said. "Uh Ruby, can we have a quick team meeting?" Yang asked. "Sure," Ruby said as she turned to Team Sonic, "You three, stay." "We're not dogs," Knuckles said.
Ruby met up with her team as they huddled together behind a tree.
"Are we sure it's a good idea to bring them to Beacon? They don't exactly, um, what's the word?" Yang questioned. "Fit in," Blake said. "Yup, that," Yang said. "Oh come on, they aren't the weirdest thing we brought with us," Ruby said. "Actually, they'll take the cake," Weiss said. "Either way, if what they say it's true, I think it's best that we work together," Ruby said. "She does have a point," Blake said. "Even I'll have to agree, even if it does sound absurd," Weiss said. "Alright, it's your call," Yang said. "Yo! Are we ready to go?" Sonic asked.
Team RWBY turned to Team Sonic.
"Alright Sonic, we're going to take you to Beacon," Ruby said. "It's that like a giant light that goes to the sky?" Sonic asked. "No, it's our school," Weiss said. "Of course, we're going back to school guys," Sonic said. "Good, you need it," Knuckles said. "Um, what about your plane?" Yang asked.
Knuckles immediately walked to it and picked it up.
"Whoa, you got gains," Yang said. "I'm one million percent muscle," Knuckles said. "Alright, just follow us," Ruby said. "Alright, Little Red," Sonic said.
Both teams began their excursion to Beacon Academy. Little do they know that their meeting changed the destiny of both their worlds. In this new adventure for these teams, they may encounter many allies, but equally adversaries capable of destroying both worlds. Can their recently connected bonds save their worlds? Or are their worlds destined to be destroyed? Only time will tell.
