Senku stared at the ceiling and saw that he was in his bedroom. He frowned. He did not remember coming back to his bedroom. He felt someone move next to him. He turned his head and saw Kohaku asleep. He smiled. It would not surprise him that she had carried him to his bedroom so that he could sleep in his bed.

Everything Is Transformed

Senku slowly opened his eyes. He had fallen asleep at his desk again. Lately, it was happening more and more often. He had so much work with the time machine construction project that he was living in his office.

He stared at the ceiling and saw that he was in his bedroom. He frowned. He did not remember coming back to his bedroom. Especially since it had been several weeks since he had slept in his bed. He felt someone move next to him. He turned his head and saw Kohaku asleep. He smiled. It would not surprise him that she had carried him to his bedroom so that he could sleep in his bed.

They had been in a relationship for three months. Aside from Taiju who had been very enthusiastic about the announcement of their relationship, all their friends had been surprised. After all, Senku had always proclaimed that love and relationships did not interest him, that it was just a waste of time. And Kohaku had never shown any interest in romantic relationships.

It was something that had happened to them without either of them asking for it. Senku had worked late and Kohaku had come to bring him food, knowing that he had not eaten anything all day. She had managed to convince him to take a break. They had eaten, they had talked, they had laughed and they had ended up kissing. This kiss had been both natural and obvious to them.

When Senku thought about it, it was the logical continuation of their relationship. They were friends. She had been the first inhabitant of this new world that he had met. She had trusted him right away, just as Senku had trusted her from their first meeting. He had introduced her to the world of science and he did not know if he could have rebuilt civilization without her. Despite his knowledge of science and his allies, without Kohaku he would never have been able to achieve all this. He owed her a lot. So it was no wonder he fell in love with her. When he realized it, he accepted it without question and it was the best thing that could have happened to him.

He put his arms around her waist and Kohaku instinctively snuggled up to him without waking up. Senku smiled and closed his eyes feeling tiredness overwhelm him again. He thought of a quote from Antoine de Lavoisier : "Nothing is lost, nothing is created, everything is transformed." It fit well with his story with Kohaku because their friendship had turned into love.
