Therefore, Jealousy

"You do like drama, Readers?"

*Sips tea*

Kou walked into the empty class room, searching for Mitsuba; who had been missing for most of the school day. SPLASH.

Stepping in blood.

Kou froze, his heart skipping a beat at the gory sight. "Mitsuba? Mitsuba!" he cried looking around, following a trail of blood into the classroom closet.

"S-Shut up," Mitsuba whispered as Kou opened the door. Kou gasped taking a step back, horrified at the sight of the cute boy hiding in the small space. His face and clothing covered in dried blood.

"Close the doors," Mitsuba whispered with his eyes low. "The light hurts," he added covering his eyes with his long sleeves. It was obvious he had been through something traumatic- but who would do something like this to him?

You have to move, Kou.

Even in fear, the blond was able to realize he had to do something to help his companion. "Mitsuba, are you ok?!" Kou yelled falling to his knees, pulling Mitsuba out from the closet.

Mitsuba: "Gah! Didn't I just tell you the light was hurting my eyes? Are you retarded?!"

Kou: "Awe man, I've never been so happy to hear your insults!" *Hugs Mitsuba*

Mitsuba: *Sighs* "I see you're still stupid,"

Kou: "What happened to you, where are you bleeding at?! I can help you!"

Mitsuba: "Help me? With what? Your doctors degree traffic cop? Now get your hands off me you pervert!"

Kou: *Lets Mitsuba go* "I'm not a traffic cop- now stop being so stubborn. Where are you hurt?"

Mitsuba: *Wipes dry blood from mouth* "It's healed already… It's just, my head is killing me. And my tongue stings like hell,"

Kou: *Exhales in relief* "Ok, well; how'd you even get like this?"

Mitsuba: *Swallows hard* "Who else but Tsukasa. Guess I pissed him off pretty bad, he'd of killed me if he found my seal but… I think he was in a rush to punish someone else after he cut my tongue out,"

Kou: "But why would Tsukasa cut out your tongue?"

Mitsuba: *Turns away* "…"

Kou: "Mitsuba, what did you do?!"

Mitsuba: *Pouts* "It's because I told you about him screwing Yashiro dumbass!"

Kou: "!"

Mitsuba: "All this headache over some ugly broad with daikon legs!"

Kou: "Mitsuba!"

Mitsuba: "Oh save it already, she's as good as dead now. I told him Yashiro and Hanako were a thing,"

Kou: "What? Their dating,"

Mitsuba: "No, but it sure as hell got him off my back,"

Kou jumped up, "Where the hell are you going?!" Mitsuba hissed stumbling to his feet, managing to stand up. Kou turned around; he was pissed- upset Mitsuba had used Yashiro to save himself.

Kou: "You put her in danger, I have to save Yashiro!"

Mitsuba: *Grabs Kou by the shoulder* "Just because you have that lame ass traffic earring doesn't obligate you to go around saving people!"

Kou: "I want to save my friend!" *Pushes Mitsuba away* "It's not just because I like her, it's not because I care about her or that I feel obligated to help her or anyone else. I just couldn't live with myself knowing I didn't help someone when I had the chance!"

Mitsuba: "Do you even hear yourself?! You're going to get yourself killed, what part of a pissed off Tsukasa don't you get in that big ass head of yours?!

Kou: "If it means helping Yashiro then I don't care! I'd do the same thing if it were you, and I'd want someone else to save you if I couldn't. It's karma Mitsuba!"

Mitsuba: *Grabs Kou by the arms, looking him eye to eye* "LOOK AT ME! I was good once, I was kind and caring - do you know what I got in exchange for being a simpleton who liked to take pictures of birds?"

Kou couldn't move, it was the first time he had seen Mitsuba so serious. The first time he had seen such a look of fear in his eyes; the worry he had for Kou was genuine.

"... I got killed, and it's not because I was on Karma's naughty list. I don't want you to end up dead, because the chances of your lame ass coming back are NOT as good as mine! So stop being stupid," Mitsuba explained desperately.

Kou looked deep into his eyes, reading into his motives; it was clear that for once- Mitsuba wasn't being selfish. "!" Mitsuba gasped, blushing as Kou pulled him into his arms.

"You're a good friend," he smiled as Mitsuba's heart raced. "Stupid pervert," Mitsuba pouted tearing up. "But… I have to help Yashiro. Even if it means I might die and never come back," He said releasing Mitsuba from their hug.

Mitsuba grabbed Kou once more, "Don't go. Kou. Don't leave me, please." Mitsuba begged as his head fell low. "Why?"

"I'm a dead apparition, I'm a jerk and a monster. But without you, I won't be anything at all," Mitsuba whimpered in a light voice.

Kou: "You are someone, Mitsuba."

Mitsuba: "Don't go,"

Kou: "And you've got lots of friends."

Mitsuba: "Damnit Kou, none of them matter compared to you, you stupid idiot!"

Kou: "But why?!"

Mitsuba bit his lip before looking up at Kou, reveling lovely, vulnerable eyes; making the blonde freeze in place. "Because, I love you stupid," Mitsuba blushed, pulling him down to kiss.

This is it.

While Mitsuba and Kou were having their moment, Tsukasa was off; looking for Amane and Yashiro as school ended for the day.

"Stop following me," Tsukasa growled.

Sakura walked closely behind him, begging for him to acknowledge her. "Go away Sakura, I've got skulls to crush!" Tsukasa barked stomping through the hallways.

"Just hear me out!" Sakura muttered running up to his side, the annoyed Tsukasa stopped and turned.

"You're becoming a real pain, I already told you I don't want to play with you. What part of 'skulls to crush' don't you understand?" Tsukasa growled going face to face with her.

"I love you, so why don't you drop Yashiro already?" she insisted taking a step closer to him

Someone else is here with them.

Tsukasa turned my head and smiled, "There you are," he chuckled.

"I've been waiting to bump into you, Sakura," Yashiro stated.

The clicking sound from the heels of her shoes echoed; her nose high as she looked down in disgust at surprised girl.

Tsukasa smiled. "Haaaaa, what a face you have; Yashiro."

Yes, this was it. The ugly face of jealous which would change everything.

The start of new love, the end of old friendships. This, was the jealousy of the living. The anger of the dead, and by the end- someone would be.
