Short Interlude - Dreams of Anguish

Fuchou's dream at the end of chapter 3 - Honkai Impact 3rd World

(Fuchou's P.O.V)

[ Insert Music: Krale - Endless Bonds and Broken Promises ]

The first thing I see is total inky black darkness, there is nothing but an abyss all around me as I sit up to look around. There is no sign of the old timer, St. Freya, or even Sapphire city, as I stand up I hear a voice all too familiar..

"Hehehe, I'm glad to see you here Senti...!" A familiar bubbly yet mature voice echoes, making me glance around as I began to search for the source of the voice. I soon spot her, my timeline's Kiana smiling at me as I run to meet her, however, the more I try to run the more she seems so ever more distant..

"KIANA, DON'T GO!" I scream as I desperately try to reach out to her, wanting to speak to her directly, to tell her I am sorry that I let her die, to be killed by her own family. She smiles as she turns around to walk away, making me run forward ever faster as she briefly disappears into the darkness, soon I come upon a pale white pillar that is all too familiar..

"No No No please not again..!" I plead as I rush toward the pillar as I just see Kiana's body once more impaled to the pillar as it was back then, her previously vibrant and shining blue eyes now dull and lifeless with a dried pool of blood at the base of the pillar…

"Senti...I'm glad you're alright.." Another voice echos, I turn around to see my timeline's version of Mei Raiden, smiling as she walks toward me, making me rush toward her with at least some hope in my heart but as I get close my heart shatters into pieces as Kevin appears and bisecting the Raven-Haired young woman at the waist as I let out a scream of horror and rage..

"KEVIN!" I scream as I call on my Dao sword to try and once again fight him, to try and kill him To try and join them in death. However, as my blade is knocked out of my hands to my own horror and dismay, Bronya knocks me aside as her robot creates a barrier to block the attack..

"B-bronya...protect her friends...!" She says but before I can reach out and warn her the blade finally breaks through the barrier and her robot shatters right before the Russian girl's eyes, shrapnel from her own robot digging into much of her body, piercing several vital organs in one fell swoop..

"NOOOOOOOOO, YOU BASTARD!" I scream with utter fury and hate, calling my blade as the power of the phoenix begins to course through me, rushing forward as deep hateful purple clashes with decisive, deathly pale blue as the concepts of sentience and finality clash..

However, the meaning of finality to many humans is sometimes ever so simply...death, and my power over sentience is just not enough to overcome the finality of death. The clash ended with me being thrown into a nearby pillar, fracturing it and injuring me in the process..

I grit my teeth and muster my fury, my wrath I grab my blade once more, and even though I can't call upon my full power like before due to my current injuries, I continue to try and swipe at Kevin as it's all I can do to keep him at bay..

Before long though, I find myself on my knees with the sword pointed at my head. Almost as if fate is repeating itself, just like before Old Timer appears to knock Kevin away, hoping that I can at least try to prevent her fate…

But as soon as I stand up, I am knocked away by Fu Hua herself as she gives a resigned smile before Kevin's blade runs her through, leaving no chance for even the immortal mantis to recover in time for what comes next..

"NO, DON'T YOU DARE, DON'T LEAVE ME AGAIN PLEASE!" I scream as a cold gust of wind briefly blinds me as I no longer see Kevin, I just see Fu Hua on the ground with her head split open like a melon to ensure she will never revive ever again..

I fall to my knees as I begin to sob in utter anguish, gripping the cold dark inky shadow that surrounds me as my grief and sorrow is the only sound that echoes throughout this cursed abyss…

And as I can feel my consciousness begin to fade into the depths of slumber, there is only one thing I am able to utter from my lips, one sentence..

"Please…..don't leave me sister…..I need you….."

Author's Notes

This is honestly a very short interlude to show Fuchou's current mental state right now that spawned from an immediate rush of ideas from when I was linked [Krale - Endless Bonds and Broken Promises] by another Honkai WC writer who goes by the handle TigerBoltSniper

I just couldn't let this burst of inspiration go to waste, so here is what I ended up coming up with. I know it is short and it's not meant to be a full-on chapter, it's more akin to a very short interlude to help give additional context as well as elaborate further on what happened back on the moon at least in the grief-filled lens of Fuchou's P.O.V

As you can probably tell this is not a true recreation of the events that occurred on the moon, but it is precise enough due to the order of who died on the moon.

This being Kiana first, then Mei, then Bronya being given fatal wounds, and then…Fu Hua. Only Fuchou does not see Fu Hua die truly, but rather she knows what would actually kill her, so her mind fills in the blanks from there..

There is a long road to recovery and truth be told, Fuchou will never truly recover from their deaths in the previous timeline. All she can really do now is try to ensure it doesn't happen again in this timeline.
