Buck couldn't help but regard Tommy's father with suspicion. Running into the man had been a shock to the system, and Tommy was still reeling. The man's gaze flickered back and forth between them. "And how long has this been going on?"

Buck resisted the urge to glare. "Tommy and I have been together for a year and a half, Mr. Kinard." He purposely chose not to mention the temporary break-up and reconciliation.

"Wonderful."

"It is wonderful. We're very happy together," Tommy snapped, finally finding his voice. He grabbed Buck's hand as an act of rebellion.

Proud of him for standing up to his father, Buck smirked. He and Tommy then turned around and walked away in silence.
