In the living room on the first floor, surrounded by bookshelves filled with large books and encyclopedias, Keats' traveling companions were completely comatose with Anik on a couch with her body leaning on the left arm rest, Tamara laying down on the same couch with her head against the right arm rest and Ambrose flat on his back on the coffee table in front of them, all with their eyes closed. Standing in front of his unconscious friends was Keats with Rotom floating next to him, trying to figure out what to do about their current predicament.
"I've tried everything! I don't know what to do anymore!" Keats exclaimed in a bothered tone as Rotom turned towards him.
"All you did was zzzzcream "wake up" repeatedly at them after we got down here." Rotom said with a judgmental expression on its screen. "Also, we're in a place filled with Ghost Pokémon, probably not a good idea to give away our location audibly... Or eat copious amounts of candy bars and shout "oh yeah" after every single one..." The phone Pokémon thought.
"Yeah, because we don't have any of our stuff!" Keats said with furrowed brows. "If I had my bags, I might be able to wake them up with some of the smelling salts I had." He continued.
"Why do you have zzzzmelling zzzzaltzzzz?" Rotom questioned.
"In case of emergency, you dumb phone..." Keats said with a bothered face. "I had other things too. I had a bowl of water with shrink wrap over it and a micro-boombox with a tape of my voice screaming on it." He said as he scratched his head.
"...I have so many questionzzzz..." Rotom muttered as Keats walked over to Ambrose.
"Yo! Hey! Come back to reality! The ghosts won't kill themselves, even though they're already considered unalive!" Keats shouted loudly as he put his hand on the teenage ghosthunters face, softly slapping him as he talked before shifting to where Tamara was. "Hey, I'm making my not-so-famous "Sludge Bomb" chocolate pudding! You have to wake up if you want some! It's just regular chocolate pudding I put purple food dye in!" He shouted while pulling on Tamaras ear and speaking into it before going over to Anik. "Hey! Pretty star lady, it's nighttime! Time to look at space and geek out in a cute way that gives me that brain thing that people say makes you happy!" Keats said while cupping his hands around his mouth.
"It's no use, Keatzzzz." Rotom said, catching Keats' attention. "They're not waking up and I think it's because of the weird energy in this place." The phone Pokémon said as Keats walked back over to Rotom.
"Can you get a signal and call the police or an ambulance?" Keats questioned as Rotom shook its face on its screen to signify a negative response.
"There's no connection in here. I can't even zzzzwap your Pokémon to get rid of Petilil's burn or even contact Marie for help." Rotom said as Keats winced.
"Great... I'm on my own in a haunted mansion where the food is fake, the paintings have moustaches that make me jealous and there's a creepy little girl upstairs. This is not how I expected this trip to hunt a freaky silver guy would go." Keats said with a worried tone.
"I don't think anyone has ever had a Pokémon journey as bizarre as the one you're having..." Rotom thought as Keats scratched his face before hunching forward and placing his hands on his face.
"Give me a minute to think up a plan." Keats said with a slightly muffled tone as he entered his thinking pose.
As Rotom stared at Keats, unbeknownst to the conscious members of the group, they failed to notice the ghostly looking girl with black hair holding a Buneary doll had phased through the ceiling and quietly landed on the floor, an unnerving smile on her face as she was watching Keats' actions. Turning her attention towards a nearby fireplace, the face of a familiar Haunter appeared from the darkness within.
"Anything, zzzzt?" Rotom asked as Keats stood up straight and removed his hands from his face.
"Okay, got it! We gotta-" Keats said with a smile until falling silent upon looking behind Rotom's phone body and spotting the little girl, floating up to eye level as her eyes started to glow a bright red.
"What'zzzz wro- huh?!" Rotom said as it turned around and saw the ghostly girl until a loud noise quickly caused them to turn towards the direction of the fireplace as the large Haunter that swallowed them earlier that night had appeared.
"Hahahaha!" The Haunter muttered loudly in a threatening tone with a smile on its face.
"Oh crap! It's the butler and he's lost weight by removing his legs!" Keats said while pointing at the Haunter, the Ghost and Poison type becoming mildly confused by the statement as Rotom made an exasperated face on its screen.
"Not actually a butler, Keats..." Rotom thought before turning around and scanning the Haunter for its PokéDex entry. '"Haunter, the Gas Pokémon, a Ghost and Poison type. Haunter lurks, silently stalking its next victim. It likes to lurk in the dark and tap shoulders with a gaseous hand. Its touch causes endless shuddering."' The phone Pokémon said, reading off the entry for Haunter.
"Haaaaunt!" Haunter said with a malicious smirk on its face.
"Mhmhmhm." The floating little girl mumbled in a laughing tone as Keats and Rotom looked at her.
"What about her, what's she?" Keats questioned.
"Let me zzzzee." Rotom said as it turned around scanned the little girl for the PokéDex. '"No entry data available."' The phone Pokémon said as Rotom's face reappeared and Keats' eyes widened.
"Sh-she's not a Pokémon!?" Keats exclaimed in surprise. "Oh god..." He said with a disturbed tone.
"If zzzzhe'zzzz not a Pokémon, then that means-" Rotom said with a shocked tone until Keats spoke up to cut the phone Pokémon off.
"She's a flying girl!" Keats said with a scared voice as Rotom turned towards him with a bewildered look on its screen as Haunter and the ghost girl were equally surprised by what he said. "This is bad, this is really bad!" He said while looking at the ghost girl.
"No! She is an actual ghost, Keatzzzz!" Rotom angrily screamed as Keats jumped back slightly.
"Oh really?" Keats replied with a raised eyebrow. "I just assumed she was like her." He said while pointing at Tamara.
"How is this floating ghozzzzt anything like Tamara?!" Rotom said with a frustrated tone.
"People with powers who can do stuff." Keats said with a nonchalant tone.
"Mind reading and telekinezzzzizzzz are not similar abilities!" Rotom shouted.
"...Someone's never seen movies..." Keats said while shifting his eyes away.
"What does that have to do with anything, zzzzt?!" Rotom said as the floating ghost girl and the Haunter watched the husky framed trainer and the floating phone Pokémon bicker with one another, completely ignoring their presence.
"They're called "psychics," thank you very much." Keats said with a snooty tone that appeared intelligent. "People with the ability to read minds can usually move stuff with their minds, that includes their own body." He said while folding his arms as Haunter glanced at the ghost girl, her eyebrow beginning to twitch in annoyance.
"Yezzzz! I know of Pokémon that can float via their powers, but I have never encountered a human that can! But this is not a situation with a human who can fly! She is clearly a ghost!" Rotom said with aggravation as the ghost girl began to shake in frustration.
"Or she's just really pale and has telekinetic powers. Who are we to judge?" Keats said towards Rotom as they both failed to notice the ghost girls' black hair was transforming into white, her teeth sharpened to a dangerous degree and her bright red eyes started glowing more intensely.
"Will you just shut up, zzzzt!?" Rotom screamed.
"I will not shut up and have disrespect-" Keats replied until he and Rotom turned slightly and noticed the ghost girl's appearance had changed and the large Haunter moved over to ominously float behind her. "Ooookay, she got more terrifying..." He thought in fear.
"Haaaaaaa!" The ghost girl exclaimed loudly as she raised her arms in the air and then Haunter did the same thing with its purple hands.
Both of them glowed with a bright black aura around their bodies as Keats and Rotom looked on, unsure of what was about to happen. The dark power expanding from their bodies enveloped the whole room in pitch blackness, prompting Rotom to float into Keats' pocket for protection and Keats putting his arms up defensively.
"Ah- wha?" Keats exclaimed as the darkness disappeared slightly and Keats was able to see his surroundings had changed.
Looking around, Keats noticed he was now in a white void with a black surface underneath his feet. Turning around, Keats noticed his unconscious traveling companions were no longer behind him as the ghost girl descended from high in the air with Haunter floating behind her.
"What kind of crazy crap is this?!" Keats exclaimed as he looked around at the lack of anything familiar before Rotom emerged from his clothes again.
"I can't zzzzay for certain, but I think we're in another dimension of some kind." Rotom explained with an unsure tone.
'"Another dimension?!" What kind of "fantasy novel" manure is that?!" Keats shouted with agitation in his voice before looking over at the ghost girl. "Hey!" He exclaimed as the sharp toothed ghost girl smiled at him. "Where the hell am I and where's the kitchen and toilets?!" Keats said, demanding an answer.
"He's funny." The ghost girl said toward Haunter as the Ghost and Poison type Pokémon floated through her body and then was positioned in front of her. "Play... Play..." She quietly said.
"Give me back my stuff and I'll set up a checkerboard!" Keats angrily shouted, overhearing her words.
"Keats, now is not the time for bad jokes... We gotta figure out a way out of here or we'll be trapped in this weird place!" Rotom thought as it looked around.
Suddenly, Haunter began to put its two floating hands together and formed a ball of black energy, charging up a "Shadow Ball" attack. Noticing this, Keats grabbed Rotom out of the air and jumped out of the way as Haunter launched the Ghost type attack in his direction.
"Dah!" Keats grunted as he slid along the ground and stopped before reaching the end of the black surface, noticing there was an edge that led to an infinite drop. "Eugh!" He muttered in fear as he scrambled to get back from it.
"Keatzzzz!" Rotom said as it floated back into the air and Keats got back to his feet, looking up at the hostile attackers.
"Oh no you don't!" Keats said angrily as he reached into his pockets and pulled out Sizzlipede's Friend Ball. "Sizzlipede, you're on call!" He shouted as he called out his Fire and Bug type Pokémon, emerging from the ball.
"Sizzlipede!" Sizzlipede exclaimed as she looked up at the large floating mass that was Haunter.
"Why are you using Zzzzlipede against Haunter?! It's a Poison type and Sizzlipede is a Bug type!" Rotom said, questioning Keats' choice.
"Doesn't matter if Haunter gets burned! And if it's burned, it's attack damage will get lowered too!" Keats said in response.
"Tr-true, zzzzt..." Rotom replied. "That's actually a logically sound answer..." He said with a minor degree of surprise.
"Sizzlipede, use "Ember!"' Keats said, giving a command to Sizzlipede.
"Sizzzzzz!" Sizzlipede exclaimed as she opened her mouth and fired out a barrage of fiery pellets at Haunter.
"Haaaunt!" The massive Haunter exclaimed as it put its floating right hand forward, blocking the "Ember" attack with it.
"That'zzzz a really strong Haunter..." Rotom commented as Keats winced from the phone Pokémon's words.
"Well thankfully, I have a backup plan!" Keats shouted with an angry smirk as the floating ghost girl looked at him with a malicious smile. "Sizzlipede, hang tight!" He instructed.
"Sizzzzzzz..." Sizzlipede said as she looked up at Haunter.
"Haaaaaaaunt-ter!" Haunter said as a purple energy started to radiate from its left hand and launched it directly at Sizzlipede.
"That looks like a "Poison Jab!"' Rotom said.
"Dodge then use "Bite!"' Keats instructed.
"Sizzlipede!" Sizzlipede muttered as she jumped to the side.
With Haunter's massive left hand jabbing the surface, Sizzlipede took an opportunity to strike and opened her mouth, digging her teeth into one of the three fingers of Haunter's floating hands. In response, Haunter tightly shut its eyes in a showing of pain before raising its left hand back into the air, pulling Sizzlipede close to it as she continued to nibble.
"Haaaaaunt." Haunter growled with a glare at Keats' Fire and Bug type.
"Sizzlipede, "Ember" that bastard in the face!" Keats shouted.
"Siiizli!" Sizzlipede exclaimed as she opened her mouth and launched another barrage of fiery pellets into the Ghost and Poison types face.
"Hauntetetet!" Haunter said as it was continually pelted by the Fire type attack.
"Point blank, zzzzt!" Rotom said as it looked on.
"Yeah! Keep it up!" Keats said with an excited tone as the ghost girl glared at Sizzlipede.
"Grrrrr..." The ghost girl growled before Haunter lifted its other hand and proceeded to ball Sizzlipede between its two palms, stopping her from hitting it further with "Ember."
"Haaaaaaunt!" Haunter exclaimed as it started to charge up dark energy into the center of its hands.
"Guh!" Keats grunted in surprise as he and Rotom looked on.
Separating its two floating hands from one another, Haunter formed another "Shadow Ball" attack with Sizzlipede caught in the middle of the energy orb, repeatedly getting zapped by it. Letting the attack loose in the direction of the husky framed trainer and the floating phone Pokémon, Keats covered himself with his arms as the attack connected with the black surface, causing a small blast cloud with Keats waving his arms to move the dust out the way.
"Siiiizzzz..." Sizzlipede muttered with her eyes swirling, signifying her unconscious state.
"Crap!" Keats thought with worry forming in his head as he took out Sizzlipede's Friend Ball from his pocket. "Sizzlipede, return." He said, recalling her back into her ball before looking up at the ghost girl who was smirking with her Haunter companion doing the same.
"Keatzzzz, you need to call out another Pokémon!" Rotom said as a vein popped on Keats' face.
"Wipe that stupid smirk off!" Keats angrily declared while pointing at the ghost girl.
"Keatzzzz?!" Rotom exclaimed with surprise over Keats' sudden agitation.
"Just because you have a big fat legless butler that can do Pokémon moves doesn't give you the right to take other people's stuff or knock out ghost hunters, psychics and astronomers!" Keats said while pointing at the ghost girl as she and Haunter looked at each other with mocking smiles.
"Funny guy..." The ghost girl said.
"Haunt-haunter." Haunter said.
"Oh, that's how you want to play..." Keats thought with his eyebrow twitching. "You know what..." He said with angry voice as everyone in the pocket dimension looked at him. "Here's what I think of you, you stupid ghost girl!" Keats screamed.
Meanwhile, outside of the mansion, a masked figure dressed in white clothing flew overhead of the Old Chateau atop of a silver bird-like Pokémon known as a Skarmory who proceeded to lift his arms to reveal a wingsuit glider connected to his body. Hopping off of his Skarmory, Birdclaw soared downward in the direction of the Old Chateau in an overly dramatic fashion while adjusting his arms with the wind to avoid plummeting towards the ground.
"There!" Birdclaw thought as he flew towards the second-floor window and shifted his legs forward as he got closer. '"Kick of Silver!"' He shouted as he extended his legs and dropkicked his way through the second-story window, landing in a bedroom with his Skarmory perching on the broken windowsill. "Keaton Dibiase! On the wings of silver that brought me here, I have come to challenge-... Oh." Birdclaw said with a loud and boisterous tone until realizing that there wasn't anyone in the room, neither human nor Pokémon.
Turning his head left and right and seeing that he was all alone, Birdclaw removed his mask for a brief moment before placing it back on and turning around to face his Skarmory.
"...Wrong room..." Birdclaw said as Skarmory made a confused expression as it turned around and he proceeded to get atop it, entering the air again.
Meanwhile, back in the pocket dimension, Keats was waving his arms violently in the air whilst rambling non-stop. Listening, the ghost girl, her Haunter companion and even Rotom were staring at Keats with their jaws dropped in disbelief over what he was saying.
"And that goes double for your mom! She's so ugly, a kid tried catching her with a Pokéball thinking she was a Jynx!" Keats said with a crazed tone as he started to breathe heavily. "...Hooo... Felt good to get that off my chest." He said with a sigh of relief.
"...You..." The ghost girl said as her voiced became extremely hostile, agitated from Keats' speech.
"...Oh boy, she's pissed." Keats said as he looked at her.
"Of course she's angry! You just cursed at her for practically two minutes!" Rotom thought as it looked at the husky framed trainer before looking at the ghost girl.
"Haaaaaauuuuntt!" The massive Haunter exclaimed as it screamed, causing Keats to step back slightly.
"Keatzzzz, send out another Pokémon!" Rotom instructed as Keats nodded quickly.
"Skuntank, you're on call!" Keats said as he pulled out another Pokéball and called out his Poison and Dark type Pokémon.
"Skuntank-tank!" Skuntank shouted as he landed on the ground.
"Good choice! A Dark type is always strongest against a Ghozzzzt type!" Rotom stated.
"Use "Flamethrower!"' Keats ordered as Skuntank opened his mouth and fired a torrent of flames at the gaseous Pokémon.
"Haunt-haunt!" Haunter said as it opened its mouth and fired a barrage of purple sludge-like projectiles.
"A "Zzzzludge Bomb" attack!" Rotom said, recognizing the move.
With the Poison type move and the Fire type move colliding with one another, the resulting explosion sent out a shockwave that made Keats put his arms up again to protect himself and causing him to move backwards by a few steps. Without noticing, the husky framed trainer reached the edge of the pocket dimensions floor, accidentally missing the placement of his footing.
"Aaaaahhh!" Keats said as he fell backwards with Skuntank and Rotom turning around to notice.
"Keatzzzz!" Rotom exclaimed with worry in its voice.
"Skuntank!?" Skuntank shouted as he rushed toward Keats and opened his mouth, biting Keats' ankle to prevent him from falling into the void whilst also digging his claws into the ground.
"Ow! Ow! That hurts like hell but thank you! Now please pull me up!" Keats said in pain and terror while upside down.
"Skuuun!" Skuntank muttered as he struggled to pick up Keats.
"I knew I shouldn't have eaten six bags of potato chips today!" Keats thought with sweat dripping off his face.
"Hahahaha!" The ghost girl laughed at Keats' plight.
"Skuuuuunt!" Skuntank said as he finally mustered the strength to pull Keats back up to the surface within the void. "Skuuuu... Skuuuu..." He panted as Keats got to his feet.
"Sorry about that..." Keats said as he looked at his Poison and Dark type Pokémon.
"Can you zzzztill fight?" Rotom asked towards the skunk-like Pokémon.
"Skuntanktank." Skuntank said while nodding to confirm he could still battle.
"Hahahahahahahahaha!" The ghost girl laughed as Keats, Skuntank and Rotom looked at her.
"Haunthaunthaunt!" Haunter said, also laughing.
"...I feel like cussing again..." Keats commented with an annoyed face.
Meanwhile, outside the mansion that now had several of its windows shattered, Birdclaw attempted to make a grand entrance once more as he dove off of his Skarmory yet again, glided through the air and kicking his way through the window leading into the mansion's kitchen area.
"Keaton Dibiase! I- oh, come on..." Birdclaw said in a grandiose manner until stopping upon seeing there was no one in the kitchen, his Skarmory flying downward and sticking its head through the hole he made with half-closed eyes of frustration and annoyance. "This is the fourth window we've broken and- hmmm?" He complained until he looked over and noticed a series of bags on the floor. "Are these his?" Birdclaw said to himself as he bent down and looking inside one of Keats' twin duffle bags.
'"Ghaaaastly."' A grouping of unfamiliar voices rang out as Birdclaw stopped checking inside of Keats' bags, standing up to spot several Ghastly were floating in the kitchen, all glaring at him with hostile expressions on their floating round bodies.
"...Enemies of the silver and enemies of my adversary. It would appear it is your day of reckoning." Birdclaw said with a smile forming on his face beneath his Skarmory mask and pulling out a green and black Pokéball. "Awaken, Alakazam!" He said as he opened his ball.
Emerging from the ball was a humanoid Pokémon with foxlike features that was yellow and brown in color with three fingers and three toes on its body. In both hands, it held a pair of spoons and looked at all of the Ghastly in the room with all of the Ghost and Poison types cowering slightly from it.
'"Psycho Cut!"' Birdclaw ordered as Alakazam's twin spoons glowed with a rainbow-colored energy.
"Alakazam!" Alakazam exclaimed as it waved both of its arms, sending out blades of psychic energy.
Back in the pocket dimension, Keats and Skuntank were still battling with the massive Haunter while Rotom and the ghost girl looked on. Raising its left hand, Haunter launched its palm, coated in a glowing purple for another "Poison Jab" attack with Skuntank jumping out of the way.
"Even if it's using a move of the same type, it's still dangerous to be hit by it, zzzzt!" Rotom said as Keats glared at the ghost girl before looking at Skuntank.
"Skuntank, use "Dark Pulse!"' Keats instructed as Skuntank opened his mouth, launching a dark coiled laser attack directly at Haunter.
"Haaaauunnt!" Haunter screamed out in pain as it recoiled from the pain of the super effective attack connecting.
"Skuntank, use "Flamethrower." Keats said as he shifted his eyes towards the ghost girl. "And aim for her!" He said as he pointed at her.
"Skunt!?" Skuntank muttered in surprise.
"Wait, Keatzzzz! We don't know if that will destroy this place!" Rotom said with a shocked and worried voice.
"I'm not staying in this place with no refrigerators or Wi-Fi!" Keats replied with agitation in his voice, showing signs that being in the void was aggravating him. "Skuntank! Burn her!" He exclaimed as the ghost girl looked at him.
"Huh?!" The ghost girl muttered in surprise as Skuntank breathed in and shot out a torrent of fire once more. "Aaaaahhhh!" She screamed after being enveloped in flames.
"Haunt?!" Haunter said in shock as it looked over at its companion.
"Why did you decide to aim for her, zzzzt?" Rotom questioned.
"We weren't getting far with giving Haunter the "burn" treatment, figured we'd try with her." Keats replied as he looked at the floating phone Pokémon.
"But zzzzhe'zzzz not a Pokémon!" Rotom shouted.
Flailing her body left and right from being coated with fire from the "Flamethrower" attack, the ghost girl suddenly started to radiate a black aura around her body as everyone looked on. With a crackling noise ringing out, Keats and Rotom looked around as they noticed black tears in the white void were appearing throughout as Haunter lifted its massive floating hands and ensnared the ghost girl with them. The floor beginning to show cracks as well, the husky framed trainer quickly pulled out Skuntank's Pokéball and recalled him.
"I think I goofed..." Keats said with a worried tone as the floor beneath him shook.
"...Normal for you, zzzzt." Rotom said before floating into Keats' pocket for protection as the floor crumpled and gave way.
"Ahhhhhh!" Keats screamed out as he fell into the void.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Old Chateau, 11:02 p.m. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
In the living room with Anik, Tamara and Ambrose still motionless and asleep, a crack opened in the middle of the air and a portal appeared. Emerging out of the portal was the ghost girl, still on fire, the giant Haunter, worriedly checking on her as she was still flailing, and then Keats, landing directly on his chest and stomach with a heavy and loud thud, in that order.
"Hmmm?" Birdclaw muttered as he turned his head in the direction of the living room.
"Owwwwww..." Keats said in pain as Rotom emerged from his pocket.
"We're- we're alive, zzzzt!" Rotom said with a smile on its screen before looking over at Anik, Tamara and Ambrose, still unconscious. "They're still out, Keats." It commented as Keats stumbled to get back to his feet.
"Lucky them, I'd like a nap... And a jar of jelly..." Keats said as he rubbed his back.
"Ahhh! Ahhh..." The ghost girl screamed, catching Keats and Rotom's attention as Haunter finally put out the flames all over her ghostly body. "...Yoooouuu..." She said as she lowered her hands, her darkened face, red eyes and sharpened teeth looking at the husky framed trainer with disdain.
"Seen that face before, "floaty." Nothing new to me." Keats said with an unphased tone from the harsh look she was giving him as Haunter began to radiate a terrifying black energy.
"Ke-Keatzzzz!" Rotom said as Keats looked at the haunting pair. "Get another Pokémon, quickly!" It shouted as Keats scrambled to reach into his pocket.
"Who do I bring out?! Who do I grab?!" Keats thought as he held Druddigon's Ultra Ball and Pineco's Pokéball in his hands.
'"Psycho Cut!"' An unfamiliar voice rang out as everyone turned their heads.
Dressed in a Skarmory mask was a young adult male in his late teens dressed in a white shirt, white pants, white shoes and a silver blazer. Floating next to him was a familiar Psychic type Pokémon that Keats recognized as an Alakazam, whose spoons were generating a rainbow-colored energy.
"Ala-kazam!" Alakazam exclaimed as he fired off a pair of energy blade projectiles at Haunter.
"Haunt!" Haunter shouted upon getting hit with the super effective Psychic type move, sending it crashing into the nearby wall.
"Ah!" The ghost girl grunted in shock as she watched her companion hit the wall. "Grrrrr!" She growled in the direction of Birdclaw and his Alakazam.
"Use "Light Screen!"' Birdclaw instructed as Alakazam crossed the two spoons in its hands and a barrier formed in front of the ghost girl, her bumping into the Psychic type move and unable to phase through it.
"How'd that work, she's a Ghost type, isn't she?" Keats questioned as he scratched his head.
"Actual ghozzzzt, not a Pokémon, Keats..." Rotom said with a judgmental look on its screen as Birdclaw recalled his Alakazam back into its Pokéball.
"If you wish to live another day, I recommend you grab your comrades and escape." Birdclaw said with a dramatic tone as he walked over to Keats.
"Whoever you are, you are onto something!" Keats said as he rushed over to his unconscious party as he lifted up Ambrose and Anik, putting an arm each over his shoulders to carry them as Birdclaw proceeded to princess carry Tamara. "Whoa wait, what about our stuff- hey, why're the windows broken?" He said as he looked at Birdclaw before getting distracted by the amount of broken glass on the floor and holes in the windows.
"Your equipment is outside. Now make haste." Birdclaw said as the ghost girl was slamming her fists against the "Light Screen."
"Gyaaahhhh!" The ghost girl wailed in agitation as she started to break through the barrier.
"Hurry, zzzzt!" Rotom shouted as Birdclaw and Keats lifted the others towards the exit to the Old Chateau.
Heading towards the front exit, Keats reached towards the door and pulled it open just as the ghost girl finally broke through and rushed at full speed to catch the pair. Quickly getting outside and standing in front of the entryway, Keats slammed the door as the ghost girl flew directly at them as a heavy shockwave from the inside of the mansion rang out and hit Keats and Birdclaw, sending them and the people they were carrying flying backwards by a few feet.
"Arhg!" Birdclaw muttered as he landed on his back with Tamara still in his arms.
"Ooofof!" Keats mumbled as he held Anik and Ambrose, their combined weight on top of him to protect them from getting hurt.
"Kiya!" Rotom exclaimed as its phone body hit the ground and bounced slightly. "Uguuuhh... Is everyone alright, zzzzt?" It said with a voice full of pain as it floated back into the air with a crack on its screen.
"Raghg!" The voice of the ghost girl rang out from other side of the door, catching the conscious trio's attention. "Rasfarasing-faifnsingnfs!" She screamed incoherently.
"It would appear her vocabulary hazzzz been updated from all the swearing you directed at her..." Rotom commented as Keats sat up with Ambrose and Anik still at his sides while unconscious.
"Can't say I never taught anybody something valuable..." Keats replied with a bothered expression.
"I fail to see that in this scenario..." Rotom thought.
"It would appear we have all survived... But these ones need proper rest at a center." Birdclaw said as he got up and placed Tamara on the ground.
"Yo, "mask-face," where's our stuff?" Keats asked as he placed Anik and Ambrose on the ground as well, also getting to his feet.
'"Birdclaw."' Birdclaw said with a serious voice as Keats made a confused expression. "You may call me "Birdclaw."' He said as he looked at Keats.
"...Why does that sound familiar?" Keats said as he turned his head to the side and whispered towards Rotom.
"That'zzzz because he's the guy we're searching- wait, "Birdclaw?!"' Rotom explained towards Keats until the floating phone Pokémon turned to look at Birdclaw with shock at his sudden appearance.
"...Oh..." Keats said with wide eyes. "Seriously, where's my stuff?!" He thought.
But if the offer's shunned, you might as well be walking on the- OH, HOLY SHIT. We're back to living in the Pokémon World?! I wasn't expecting this! *one read later*
Okay, so Keats is back to his usual nonsense! But with his friends out like lights still, he was left to fight the ghost girl of the Old Chateau and her plus sized Haunter in a pocket dimension on his own. And the rather unusual Snagem Family member, Huell aka "Birdclaw" had appeared to try and make a grand entrance to confront Keats but failed to find the right room... Several times. With Birdclaw's help, Keats and Rotom escaped the Old Chateau with Anik, Tamara and Ambrose in one piece. However, it's out of the frying pan on the hot plate and into the fire in the oven that needs to be put out! Because Keats has realized that he was just saved by the man he was hunting...
