Title: Baka Rangers

Summary: Glory to the machine empire.

Leon

There was a loud explosion as an object slammed into the ground. The people of the capital fled for the most part, but a few curious onlookers stayed to take a closer look at the object.

The object was not inanimate as a metallic arm stretched out and slammed the ground. It soon dragged out a body. It was entirely robotic in nature.

Steam bellowed out and I roared out, "Surrender now and become a cog in the glorious Machine Empire!"

Rather than listen, the citizens finally did the sensible move of running away like headless chickens screaming.

"Luxion, is that one of your friends?"

"Unit designation Rocketear is a retired recon model. Origin is likely from a recently reawakened AI core. However, AI unit has likely gone maverick if Rocketear is subjugating the New Humans for a Machine Empire. Protocol dictates that we retire AI unit with extreme prejudice. Highly recommend activating power armor mode before proceeding."

"Noted," I said blandly as I manifested a gold staff with a red orb on top.

Upon manifestation, the orb flashed red as the power of the staff activated. My clothes soon pressed against my skin tightly as a skin tight black armor appeared on top. A golden chassis came into being and covered my upper body. A helmet with one way glass covered my face.

I inwardly squealed as I had become a Power Ranger. I would never let Luxion know, but I had a childhood dream of becoming one. To think it would become my reality. Too bad I had to die and be reborn into an Otome game for it to happen.

"Who are you? I sense the machine in you, but you are clearly not one of us," the monster in front of me asked as my transformation had drawn its attention.

"... I'm a remnant of Old Humanity. I wish to know who you answer to."

Hopefully the machine hadn't gone so far the Terminator route. If I could end the fight without fighting, I would take it.

"Bah, nothing more than a mindless slave of you follow Old Humanity! I pity you truly! Slaves to a dead and inferior existence! I'll show you mercy by decommissioning you!"

Luxion then chimed in.

"This unit is nothing more than a peon. We will need to dispose of the leader of the Machine Empire. We can gather intel from the peon's core."

Well, peace was never an option.

Julius

When we heard about the monster attack in the capital's plaza, we warped in our power suits as soon as we could. To our surprise, we were not faced with a monster upon our arrival. Instead, a black and gold figure stood before the beaten monster. His hand plunged into the monster's chest. The monster seemed to try to speak, but only incoherent noise came out as a black fluid bubbled from its mouth.

"Julius, is that another Ranger?" Chris asked in disbelief.

"Why didn't Alpha or Zordon tell us anything?" I asked Greg.

"Hey, don't look at me. I may have met them first, but I am in the dark just as much as you all are. A better question is why have we been busting our asses dealing with monsters if this asshole can take one out on his own?"

"Uh, guys. That Ranger is giving off very similar signatures as that monster," Brad said with a worried tone.

"So he's an enemy to beat down. Makes this easy," Greg said before bounding towards the mysterious figure.

"Greg, you idiot! We should figure out..." Chris started but never finished.

In the fraction of the second it took to react, the mysterious Ranger ripped his arm out from the monster, spun, and smashed Greg's form with a golden staff. The impact caused a massive explosion of sparks and sent Greg careening back at us. Jilk prematurely ended the flight by virtue of being in the direct path already, and both tumbled down on the floor.

"Tch, you just had to interrupt me," the figure said before freezing in place.

"Who are you, and what is your purpose," I stated as I took on a stance.

"Apparently, hunting down someone named King Mondo. A task I would have been much further along with had Red not interrupted me," the man said both lazily and hostilely. He casually kicked the monster to accentuate the fact that whatever he was doing was now impossible to continue.

My intercom soon beeped.

"Rangers, you can't take him at his word. While he does wield the power of a Ranger, he appears to have been able to interface with the monster. It is likely another faction within the Machine Empire has formed, and a power struggle has emerged."

"So? Why not let them destroy themselves?"

"Because the Zeo Rangers were once able to defeat King Mondo. However, if this new faction is capable of defeating such a formidable foe, it could be that they will be able to defeat you in the future should they not be distracted by Mondo."

"Understood," I said before diving at him.

"Not interested," he said before being engulfed in a gold light and warping away.

"Did he just run away? I didn't know they could just run away," Brad said shocked.

I couldn't blame him since none of the monsters prior ever run away before. Regardless of whether or not we offered them amnesty, they always fought to the death.

Looking around, I could only sigh in relief. We were in a fairly occupied portion of the capital, likely an intentional choice by the first monster. Fighting here could have been devastating, even if we had won. As it stood, we would only have to worry about replacing the tiles broken on the floor and the fountain instead of rebuilding businesses.

"Let's just take this as a win for now," I said before checking on Greg and Jilk.

Greg was out cold, Jilk seemed to struggle getting up. I paled at the sight. That Ranger had handily defeated two of us with a single swipe. What terrifying power. If he had chosen to fight us, we would have lost in an instant.

So why hadn't he?

Then his words echoed in my mind. He simply wasn't interested in us. We were that far below him that he didn't feel the need to deal with us. He was too busy hunting King Mondo.

We needed to be a lot stronger. And we needed to deal with him before Mondo fell. I feared for what would happen if this Ranger was allowed to focus solely on us.

Leon

As I sat in the auditorium waiting for Julius's opening speech, I pondered about the appearance of the five Rangers. While there was a fair chance that they were reincarnators like me, the odds were more in favor of them being New Humans. When I had received my staff, Luxion had informed me that the other five hadn't been found. Given the nature of Luxion's development, they were probably passed down as heirlooms for his mortal enemy.

The question was if they were friend or foe. Luxion certainly demanded that I beat them unconscious and then execute them if they turned out to be New Humans.

While I was perfectly fine ending sentient robots, killing humans was still off the table for me. Luxion had not taken kindly to my cavalier attitude towards robot kind, but he ultimately accepted that killing one's own species was a far cry more disturbing act than ending a tool hellbent on killing you.

Speaking of sentient robots, it looked like it was going to be far more troublesome now. Because of the Rangers' interference, the download had been incomplete and corrupted. King Mondo was unlikely to let his future soldiers be as easily hackable. Luxion could probably find him, but I would now need to defeat several robots to get enough data to locate the maverick AI.

What's more troublesome is that the other Rangers were likely going to try to interfere. Talking things out also seemed to be off the table since Blue tried to cut me down with barely any words between us. Probably because I took down Red and Green, but I take no responsibility for that since Red tried to jump me.

"Where is the crown prince? He's quite late," someone whispered.

I just sighed and got up. I had better things to do than to listen to the same cutscene dialogue. Waiting on top of that was just beyond what I could tolerate. The inconsiderate prince was probably held up by the scholarship student.

Fortunately, I was near an exit so my actions went largely unnoticed. As I opened the door, my eyes met a familiar face.

"Excuse me. Is this the opening ceremony," the girl whispered nervously.

I just nodded before exiting.

"Er, is it already over?"

"No, but the prince has been a no show for the last thirty minutes."

"A speech by the prince? Won't you be in trouble by not staying?"

"I think you'd be in much more trouble for dilly dallying with me," I said lazily while dismissively waving my hand. I didn't bother to look at her as I attempted to walk away. Attempted was the keyword as Olivia grabbed my arm. "Huh?"

"If I am going to be in trouble, could I ask you to explain my situation to the staff?" she said with a firm expression.

"Huh? Why would my word help you?" I said to play along with her blatant attempt to get me back in the auditorium.

"Because the word of a noble would be taken much more seriously than a commoner."

"You're not going to let this go, are you?" I said with a sigh.

"Nope," she chirped with a smile.

"Fine, but word of advice, most nobles aren't kind," I grumbled as I escorted her into the building.

While we waited, Olivia constantly asked me questions to pass the time. After another thirty minutes, Julius finally took the stage. What took him so long? Even the protagonist was more timely despite meeting him.

Olivia

Yes, I found one of those goody little two shoe Rangers. After having spent so much time fighting them, it was obvious the moment I met Leon. They always gave off a distinct energy.

They also still had the foolish weakness of always trying to be helpful. So easy to play on the idiots' trust. Just a little cry for help and show a little concern and I had a Ranger twisted around my little finger. A little more, and he not be able to resist my commands.

Ugh, this was still so bothersome. If I only had my staff and bracelet, I could just brainwash the monkey. But with the natural protection Pyramidis provided to its user, it was not worth the risk to try to influence Leon with my current powers.

I've waited 10,000 years for someone compatible to touch my necklace. What's another few years.

Besides, I might be able to learn of the powers behind the Rangers by going to high school.

Wow. If high school girls were this cruel and debauched, it's no wonder the Rangers could take down my monsters. They make me look positively like a saint.

I need to work harder.

AN

1) Finally did a random crossover with Power Rangers. Every previous attempt I tried sucked since I kept trying to go over how the five got their powers. Decided it would just be better to have an encounter between Leon and the five as the focus.

2) Using Power Rangers instead of Sentai because I'm more familiar with Power Rangers.

3) Zeo was used because I feel that King Mondo being a rogue AI would make sense. Him being able to produce monsters would also make sense if he was a production AI. Additionally, I feel the color coordination works pretty well.

4) Greg is Red, Jilk is Green, Julius is Blue, Chris is Yellow, Brad is Pink, and Leon is Gold/Black. Roles chosen for color coordination and not for actual role purposes.

5) Olivia is possessed by one third of Rita. Her acceptance into the Academy is due to Rita's magical prowess.

6) Even Rita Repulsa is repulsed by these women for lols.

7) Don't know if Marie will show up.

Review Response

Phlebiac: "hurt/comfort fuck". When autocorrect still gets the message across.

Symbolic Joker: Disgruntled but quiet since the stability of the Kingdom is more important.

KirovAirshipMixOptimal: My brain farted. I really need to stop writing these responses right after writing chapters and at midnight.

RonaldVexdian: I think Angelica's hesitation when Stephanie called out her old behavior really got to Olivia. It gave Stephanie credibility. Add on to the fact that Olivia seems to either fail to do her job at the festival or cause issues due to noble obligations, it really started eating at her. As for your ideas, I was figured that would be the general progression of events if I ever got around to a second chapter. Only detail I would have added would be that Olivia actually pushes herself to become the Saintess to both prove her own self worth and to earn Leon's respect/love. In so doing, does exactly what Old Leon wanted but everything present Leon would feel guilty about.

Randomguy2178: One, I did not know Wicked Gods were a thing. I'm not big enough of a yugioh fan to have read the manga. Two, my Yugioh crossover is more of a GX crossover. Three, Sacred Beasts also have the whole soul sucking aspect, which lines up well with the flutes' cost.
