Onyx walked out of the bullhead and walked along the stone path that led to Beacon. As he was walking, he looked up and noticed the massive scale of Beacon Academy
'It's ginormous' He thought to himself.
As he was gazing at Beacon, he had been bumped into from behind.
"Ooof" He let out as he fell to his Hands and knees.
"Oh my, I'm so Sorry!" The person who bumped into him had said.
Onyx got on one knee and turned to see a girl who looked to be around his height. She had long deep red hair with an amazing pair of emerald eyes.
"Umm... are you o-okay?" She said with a stutter while slightly fidgeting with her hands.
It is only then Onyx noticed he was staring deep into her eyes and not saying anything.
"Ah-ahh yea I am. Sorry for staring, it's j-just you have really pretty eyes. My name's Onyx Kanuchi '' He said while nervously rubbing the back of his head with a smile.
'Why am I stuttering like an Idiot?!' He thought to himself.
"Oh...ahh, th-thanks, I appreciate that. I'm Pyrrha, Pyrrha Nikos, but you probably already know that" The red head says while her voice sounds slightly disappointed near the end.
Onyx tilted his head quizzically at her.
"Who are you?" He asked.
Pyrrha looked sorta dumbfounded and surprised he didn't know her. Onyx started to panic, thinking he may have offended her.
"Oh well I know your Pyrrha because you just told me ya know, but like I was meaning like umm... Who...is this Pyrrha I'm supposed to know" He quickly stammers out. 'I'm such an idiot' He thought to himself as he mentally face palmed himself.
"Hehehe...haha" She laughs. "Oh, it's nothing, nothing at all, I-" She was interrupted by another person screaming.
"WHAT!?" A person screamed.
The two both look to the source and see a girl storming up to them, specifically Onyx. She had pure white hair and sky-blue eyes and was wearing a combat skirt like ruby, but white with a tint of blue.
"What do you MEAN you don't know who Pyrrha Nikos is you complete dunce?!" She yelled right next to his ear. "I swear the nerve of some people, you shouldn't even be able to talk to her if you can't even recognize her, you dolt!? She huffed. "Pyrrha I am so sorry for this dolts' actions and for bothering you" She said.
'Okay she is starting to really piss me off, ' Onyx thought as his eye twitched.
"It's ok, he did nothing wrong, it was actually me that bumped into him and we started talking" Pyrrha said defending Onyx.
"Well how about we head for the auditorium and leave mister dunce here?" the white-haired girl asked Pyrrha.
Onyx had enough of the brat and decided to speak up.
"Are you naturally this bitchy or is it just me?" He asked with a trace of annoyance.
Pyrrha turned away and started to giggle at his remark while white haired girl looked dumbfounded with her jaw to the floor.
"HOW DARE YOU!" She yelled. "Do know who I AM!" The white haired girl asked aggravated.
"Well one sec. Dress, check. Heels, check, snobby attitude, check. A wannabe princess? Onyx responded with a smirk.
"I am Weiss Schnee, Heiress to the Schnee Dust Company!" She said while crossing her arms.
"Who?" He asked
"UGGHH, whatever you dunce" Weiss said as she stormed off.
Onyx looked back over to Pyrrha as she was failing to try and hold her laughter in from the last conversation.
"I'm sorry if I said anything wrong there," Onyx apologized.
"It's alright, she was being rude and had no right to barge in like that and for a little reason such as knowing me." She said with a warm smile.
"So, who is this Pyrrha Nikos she was talking about?" He asked curiously.
"Oh uh, well I have won the Mistrals Regional tournament 4 years in a row and because of that as well, I got on the cover of Pumpkin Pete's Cereal..." She said, quieting down near the end.
"Oh that pretty cool, I never had a chance to do tournaments or anything while back..home..." Onyx said sadly while casting his face down.
"But I do like to spar, so if you ever want to spar, watch out, I won't go easy." He said casting a shade of happiness over his face.
Pyrrha looked at him debating whether to question his quick mood change there but decides against it.
"Well I hope we can spar then Onyx, I would enjoy that immensely." She said with a smile.
"Well Pyrrha, I'll catch you later, I wanted to talk to somebody before I head to the auditorium" He said.
"Well Onyx, it was great to meet you, I hope to see you again soon, bye Onyx" Pyrrha said with a warm gentle smile as she left towards the auditorium.
Onyx started his way back towards the auditorium for five minutes until he noticed Professor Ozpin talking to who looked like another teacher. He walked up to him and greeted him.
"Hello Professor Ozpin." He greeted.
"Ah Mister Kanuchi, it is so good to see you, I'm glad you took up my offer" The professor said with a smile.
"Professor, Onyx is just fine if you would please and of course, you gave me a chance to move forward after.. what happened 3 months ago. I still owe you for that and I need to keep pushing forward, for her..." Onyx said as he looked down solemnly.
Ozpin put one hand on his shoulder and looked him in the eye.
"Onyx, you owe me nothing of the sort. I see great potential in you as did your mother. Now, come lift your head, it is going to be okay, you are going to do great things I can tell." He said with sincerity.
"Tha- thank you professor, I will make the most of this opportunity you have given me." Onyx said while composing himself.
"Good, now how about you make your way to the auditorium, I'll be there myself in a bit." The Headmaster said.
"Okay, see you later professor" Onyx waved towards him as he walked away.
As Onyx wandered the halls of Beacon, he finally made it to the auditorium after being lost for 15 minutes.
'Gosh, this place is so confus-' He was brought out of his thoughts by a girl talking very loud in the crowd.
Onyx spun his head towards the noise and saw Weiss raising her voice at Ruby. He sighed and quickly walked towards them. He approached them from behind and tapped Weiss on the shoulder.
"You are lucky we weren't blo-" Weiss cut herself off and turned her head and glared daggers as soon as she saw Onyx.
"YOU! You have some nerve to even approach me after what happened earlier!" She yelled at him.
"So I see the tampon is still in, forget how to take it out or do you have a maid for that...Weiss Princess?" He responded with a smirk.
Her face became as red as a tomato while Yang and Ruby were turned away trying to hold in their laughs.
"Yo- how- UGHHH!" She huffed off with steam coming out of her ears.
Onyx turned his head and attention to the two remaining girls.
"Damn Onyx, that was pretty brutal, but I'll let it slide since it got her off of us, thank you." Yang said.
"What was that all about anyway?" Onyx asked.
"Umm welllll.. I sorta blew up earlier and took her with me..." Ruby says quietly.
"Well that's something. Be more careful Ruby, wouldn't want you to get hurt or killed before your first day right?" Onyx said with a caring smile while ruffling her hair.
Ruby had a little blush on her.
" Ye-yea.. I will try, thank you Onyx, with Weiss I mean." She said happily.
"It's no biggy, I'll probably apologize to her later, mom said can't leave a lady mad at you" He explained.
"Awwww that's so sweet, I would like to meet her" Yang said as she clung to his arm.
"You can't," Onyx said solemnly while bracing his eyes to stop any tears.
"Ohh I'm Sor-" Onyx cut her off gently.
"It's fine, just, still feels so recent, I don't really want to talk about it if that's okay?" He asked, hopeful she wouldn't push the topic.
"Yea, that's fine, we won't ask if-" Yang was cut off by what seemed to be Ozpin on the stage starting to speak.
As Onyx was listening to his speech, he ended up yawning and closing his eyes and stretching his back. When he opened them back up, he found himself in the same grayish lit up room from earlier in his dream.
"Child…." Onyx heard and snapped his head to the right where the voice had come from.
He looked down and saw a neat stone path with purple and blue glowing flowers on the sides. He followed the path with his eyes and found it led to a small gated green hill with a small tree on top of it.
"Come to me child…" The voice said.
Onyx debated listening to the voice, but curiosity winning he started to walk down the path. He walked in silence taking in his environment, noticing a small breeze blowing against him. He soon found himself at the gate which led to the hill. He looked at the top of the hill and noticed some sort of podium with an object on it next to the tree.
"Open the gate child… and connect with me" He heard.
Onyx closed his eyes and reached his hand for the gate.
"Are you okay?" Onyx heard from behind him and snapped his eyes open.
Onyx looked around for a second and noticed he was no longer in the greyish room with the green hill, but a regular bathroom. He looked back to the source of the voice and saw a guy about his height. He noticed the most unique feature on the guy which was a pink strand of hair on his left side.
"Ye-yea, I'm fine, guess I'm just tired." Onyx said with a little confusion.
"Well I'll be heading to the ballroom, it's where everybody is sleeping tonight, want to tag along?" The guy asked.
"Yea, sure. Oh, I'm Onyx Kanuchi" Onyx put my hand out for him to shake, he accepted it.
"I'm Lie Ren, but you can just call me Ren," Ren said with a smile.
"Okay Ren, lead the way" Onyx said while gesturing to him to lead.
With that Ren led them to a room about decent size for the amount of students there are. He leads them to a spot where there is already another sleeping bag with what looks like a very bubbly girl waiting for him.
"REN! There you are, I was worried you wouldn't sho- who's this? Is he bothering you! Want me to break his legs?" The bubbly girl threatened in a serious tone.
"Nora, please... no. This is Onyx, Onyx this is Nora. I am sorry for her behavior." He said apologetically
"It's okay, it's just how she is, well except breaking the legs part, but nobody is perfect aha, well it's nice to meet you Nora, I take it you and Ren are good friends, may I even say.. A couple?" Onyx asked.
"Wellll no... not yet at least" She says quietly.
"What did you say at the end there Nora?" Onyx questioned.
"OH Nothing" Nora chimes happily. "We are amazing friends and have been together most of our life." She says and Onyx grew a smile.
"Well that is good to know, how about we hit the hay, it is getting late and I'm pooped." Onyx said with a yawn.
"OKAY good night Onyx and good night to you Ren" Nora says.
"Night Nora, Onyx" Ren says.
"Night guys." Onyx said tiredly as he drifted off to sleep.
