*POV CHARLIE*

Charlie: hey Reba, did you get those papers for me to sign from the Seattle office? Reba?

Reba: uh Chief, there's a lady here… She has red eyes, and she really scares me.

Charlie: what?! Stay here, lock the door and call Bella for me. If you don't reach her, call Dr. Cullen.

I jump up and head out my office. Victoria is sitting on Reba's desk with an evil smirk on her face.

Tori: you really think a lock door can stop me? Silly human. I hope your daughter has more sense than you.

Charlie: leave my daughter alone. What do you want?

I stand tall as she gets off the desk and strolls towards me. My hand automatically twitches to my gun. She stares down at it while walking around me.

Tori: ridiculous human. I don't want your daughter. I want Alice. Unluckily, your daughter is just collateral damage.

Charlie: and why do you want Alice?

Tori: she killed my James. It's only fair I kill Alice, and since Bella is Alice's pet… I'm sure I'll have to kill her too.

Charlie: you will not touch them!

Tori: and you're going to stop me?... hmmm, I have to make this quick, your precious Cullens are on their way.

Before I can blink, I'm throw into the filing cabinets against the wall. The pain that shoots through my leg is nothing compared to the burning pain that shoots up my arm. I feel Reba by my side trying to stop the blood, distantly hear her telling me Carlisle is coming and to hold on.

*POV CARLISLE*

Esme, Emmett, Rose and I arrive at the station as quickly as we can. Victoria's scent is strong but not as strong as if she was still here. There's a stronger scent of blood. We can hear Reba telling Charlie we're on our way. I nod to Rose and Emmett and they take off to try to follow her. As slow as humanly possibly I run into the station, Esme coming in right behind with my bag. I spot the bite and broken leg quickly. I smell the venom as I get closer to the blood. I have to get him out of here before he starts screaming.

Carlisle: Excuse me Reba. Shit… Charlie I'm right here. I have to take you to the hospital. It's going to hurt when I move you, but we must get going.

I pick him up and carry him out to his truck. Reba is watch us closely, making it unable for us to just run home. Esme gets into the driver's seat and takes off. When we get about a mile away, she pulls over to the woods and I jump out, running straight home as quick as I can.

Bella: what happen?!

I run into Alice and Bella upstairs going into my office.

Carlisle: you didn't answer your phone!

Bella: it was here, Carlisle! What happen!?

Carlisle: Victoria!

I hear the growls from both of them as I lay him down and remove the gauze.

Carlisle: Charlie! Charlie, can you hear me? Charlie, you have to decide if you want to be one of us! I can stop it, or I can let it spread.

He doesn't say anything. Just grunts from the pain.

Carlisle: Bella, you have to decide.

Bella: we never talked about it.

Carlisle: well you can't talk now. So decide now!

Bella: I, I, I….

Alice: he doesn't want it! Suck it out Carlisle!

I quickly suck out the venom, stopping only when I taste clean blood. Fuck, it's going to take some days for my eyes to clear up. Charlie's heart rate starts to slow down and his facial features smooth out. Bella falls into the chair next to him, holding his hand. Alice standing right behind her.

Carlisle: don't move him, I have to set his leg.

I quickly set his leg and set up a morphine drip for him. It's not long before we hear the others return. They head straight upstairs and join us.

Rose: how's Charlie?

Carlisle: I sucked the venom out, but his leg is broken. It's set and I put a drip, he'll be asleep for a while.

Bella: can somebody please tell me what happen?

I see the tears building in her eyes. The worry laced all over her features.

Carlisle: I received a call from Reba at the station. She said a lady with red eyes came in asking for Charlie. He told her to lock herself in the office and call you. If you didn't answer, she was to call me.

Bella: I went with Alice to hunt and left my phone here by mistake. I.. I…

The guilt. I hold back wanting to hug her. But it doesn't stop Esme from rushing over to comfort.

Carlisle: it's ok Bella. When I got there Victoria was gone, it looked like she threw Charlie into the wall. Breaking his leg and biting him.

Bella: it's not ok. I should've been there!

The anger takes over her face and body. When her body starts trembling, I know she's trying to control herself from phasing. Alice places a hand on her shoulder to calm her. And it causes her body to stop. The power of the imprint is still a surprising thing to me.

Carlisle: you still wouldn't have gotten there in time. She was gone before we even got there. Right now, we just have to wait for him to wake up. Did you guys catch anything?

Emmett: no, we followed her scent to a cliff. She must have jumped in.

Edward: we went by your house Bella. There was another scent. It was all through the house and heavily in your room. Your pillowcase and shirts from your hamper were gone.

Charlie: Bella! Bella!

Bella: I'm right here Charlie.

Charlie: she's after you and Alice. She bit me. The bitch bit me! Am I going to turn into a vampire?!

Carlisle: Charlie, I sucked the venom out. No need to worry. You must lay back down and relax. Don't want you to unset your leg.

He lays back but doesn't relax.

Charlie: you have to leave. Bella, you and Alice have to leave. They're coming for you two.

Bella: I'm not leaving dad. She's coming here. Even if we're not here, she'll still come here, and it'll put all of you in danger. We have to stay and fight. However, you need to leave. I don't know what I'll do if anything more happens to you.

Charlie: I'm not leaving if you're not. I'll be right there next to you.

Bella: don't be fucking crazy dad! They'll come straight for you. And I'll be distracted. No you'll be at the Res with Billy and the others. Just like we already discussed.

They stare at each other in a standoff. None of us know what to say let alone want to be in the middle.

Charlie: I can't lose you Bella.

Carlisle: you wont Charlie. I'll make sure of it. She's my daughter too now. I'll protect her just like my own kids.
