"AHHHH!" Was the sound that echoed in the air.
Onyx snapped his eyes open and jumped to his feet. He looked around him to find himself on a beach, rain pouring heavily, wind howling in the night. He snapped his head to where the sound had come from and took off like a bullet.
Dodging flying debris, jumping over wrecked structures, Onyx came to a clearing and saw his mother surrounded by one Alpha Creep and three Beowolfs, one being an Alpha. They circled her like fresh prey and started to slowly inch their way toward her.
Onyx quickly formed a wind javelin and threw it with impressive speed and impaled the Alpha Beowolfs back. Onyx sprinted and grabbed the javelin and in a hammer like motion picked up and slammed the Alpha on its head. Forming a wind dagger with his other hand he drove it into the Alphas jaw into its skull killing it. Onyx ducked forward as he sensed an attack from behind. He planted his hands on the ground and pushed off and drove the bottom of his foot into the jaw of a regular Beowolf sending it into the air. It landed on its back and Onyx formed a wind sword and cut its head clean off.
The Alpha Creep took it's chance and charged the defenseless mother. Onyx went to intercept but was blocked by the last Beowolf. Onyx quickly threw a gust of wind and disoriented the Beowolf. He formed a dagger and threw it with tremendous accuracy and impaled the Beowolfs left eye while knocking it on its back. Jumping, Onyx formed a sword and drove it through the Beowolfs chest, turning it to dust. Onyx quickly got up and slashed the sword towards the Creep sending a stream of wind knocking down the Creep just before it got to his mother.
The Creep got back up and charged towards Onyx. Onyx charged as well, but before the Creep could attack, Onyx knee slid under the Creep and blasted a heavy gust of wind to the Creeps stomach, sending it into the air and landing on its back.
The Creep struggled to get off its back with its back spikes dug deep into the ground. Onyx walked up to the Creep and with a wind enhanced punch, punched the Creep's stomach and exploded a hole in its belly, turning it to dust.
Onyx fell to one knee exhausted. Sweat pouring down his face mixing with the rain. He slowly made his way to his mothers body. He fell to his knees and cradled her into his arms. He noticed her chest wasn't rising or falling, but it was just still, as if frozen in time.
"I'm so sorry mom…" Onyx wept as he held his mothers body tight.
"Child…" Onyx's head reeled back, looking at his mother.
He noticed his mothers body start to slowly turn to purple/blueish mist. His eyes widened as the arm of his mother reached for his cheek.
"Soon" He heard the voice that came from his mothers lips but was not her own.
Her body fully turned to mist and disappeared into the air leaving Onyx by himself. Onyx closed his tear stained eyes and his hands fell to his side.
As Onyx Opened his eyes, he slowly sat up and noticed he was back in the ballroom.
"Just a dream" He said quietly to himself.
Onyx put his hands to his face as he felt the cold sweat and wiped it off. He slowly got out of his sleeping bag and quietly slipped out the room, trying not to wake anybody. He wandered the great halls of Beacon until he was able to find the exit. He slowly trudged along until he found a bench. He walked up to the bench and kneeled down on both knees in front of the bench and grabbed his necklace and placed it between his hands.
"Hey mom. I know it's been awhile. I'm sorry I haven't talked in about a month. I have been prepping for Beacon surprisingly. After the incident, Professor Ozpin gave me a place to stay. It was on the 2nd floor of a bookstore. The owner and I became good friends relatively fast" Onyx said as he smiled at the memories with Tukson. " I helped him around the shop a bit and even got caught interested in a series, though you probably wouldn't approve all that much of it…" Onyx chuckled nervously.
"Anyway, he is a really cool guy and helped me get settled even for the short 3 months I was with him. It was a fun time" Onyx smiled. "Right now I'm at Beacon if you can believe it. Met a couple interesting people so far" Onyx explained.
"Ruby seems very sweet, a little hyper but she has great spirit. She is even younger than me. She has a sister named Yang. First when I met her, her hair was actually on fire, but she is actually pretty cool, maybe a little too flirty but she seems like a good person. Then there is Ren and Nora. They said they have been together for most of their lives. Ren's sorta a mystery right now but Nora is very Bubbly, you would like her. I guess there is Weiss, she came screaming in my ear the first time we met. I really didn't help by what I said but hey, she deserved it." Onyx says as he chuckles.
"Then there's this girl Pyrrha. She has very beautiful deep red hair and deep enriching emerald eyes. Of course I acted a little bit like a fool in front of her when I didn't know who she was. She wasn't mad or anything just surprised, maybe even relieved. She probably thinks I'm weird or something" Onyx chuckled.
"Anyway mom, I'm doing fine right now mom. I just wanted to talk to you. I miss you so much. I hope you're watching over me. I have to go now, I love you mom" Onyx said.
Onyx got up and laid on the bench looking at the picture of his mother. He closed his eyes and brought the locket to his chest. He laid there for a minute before succumbing to sleep.
A certain red haired girl opened her eyes to the sound of movement in the ballroom. She sat up and noticed the door closing to the room.
'Who is leaving at this hour' She thought to herself.
She got up and walked towards the door and decided to follow the person. She wondered about the halls getting lost.
"Gosh I really need a map" She said to herself.
After 3 minutes of wandering she finally found the exit. There was a gentle breeze and clear skies. Pyrrha crossed her arms and shivered slightly from the breeze. She walked down the main path till she heard what sounded like a voice. She quietly hid behind the pillars and made her way to the person. She made it to the closer pillar and peaked her head around and saw a familiar white haired boy kneeling in front of a bench.
'Onyx? What are you doing out here?' She thought to herself.
"She probably thinks I'm weird or something" She heard Onyx say as he chuckled a little.
'Who thinks you're weird?' Pyrrha thought to herself.
"Anyway mom, I'm doing fine right now mom. I just wanted to talk to you. I miss you so much. I hope you're watching over me. I have to go now, I love you mom" Onyx finished as he laid on the bench and slowly went to sleep.
Pyrrha waited for another minute to make sure he was asleep and came out of hiding and walked up to Onyx. She looked at his face and noticed tear marks near his eyes.
'You must have just lost her, I'm so sorry Onyx' She thought concerningly .
She noticed his hand had fallen off the side of the bench and a silver locket hanging out of it. She lightly picked up his hand and looked at the locket. She noticed Onyx and a slightly older woman in the picture who looked very happy.
'This must be his mother, she is very beautiful' She thought to herself.
Only then Pyrrha realized she was holding Onyx's hand still and a slightly pink tint appeared on her face. She quickly put the locket in his hand and put his hand back on his chest. She was about to leave when she realized Onyx was sleeping outside on a bench.
'I probably shouldn't wake him up, he definitely wants to be alone right now, but I can't let him freeze and get sick out here' Pyrrha thought to herself when she thought of an idea.
She walked back with a fast walk speed and made her way back to the ballroom and grabbed her blanket. She grabbed an extra pillow as well and headed back to the bench.
When she reached the bench she slightly lifted Onyxs' head and placed the pillow under it and draped her blanket over his body.
She began to return when she looked back towards Onyx a final time.
"Goodnight Onyx" She said quietly not to wake him and returned to her sleeping bag.
Pyrrha laid back down and started to think about Onyx.
'What happened, what have you been through Onyx" She questioned herself.
Pyrrha shut her eyes and slowly let sleep overtake her.
AN- Okay I want to take the time to explain Onyx semblance and what it can do. He has the ability to manipulate wind so he is able to form different weapons to help him fight. As of right now since he has only recently discovered it he cant just manipulate wind with just his mind and form unlimited weapons. He requires his hands at the moment and can only do one thing at a time with each hand. Like if he forms a Wind Sword in his left and a Javelin in his right hand and throws the Javelin, he cant form another weapon with his right hand till he either disperses the current one or it goes out of his control range which it 25 Feet. Once an weapons leave that range it will disperse on its own. Now he can use both hands to form one weapon which would have more power to it then on individual one because he would be using more focus.
