I did say that I would probably have Eric in my story, this is the 11th chapter that I haven't had Eric in it! I feel like I miss him, but I still have to go through the rest of my story before he makes a return. In what capacity, I am not sure yet, I'm still debating internally that part of the story. I finally discovered chat GPI. I mean if you have an active imagination but have a hard time putting it into words, then that might be a good useful tool for you! I haven't used it on my fanfiction stories, but I may give it a try in future stories. Writing takes up a lot of time. I'd do it all the time if I could, but work and life comes in the way.
Sookie's POV:
"You can do this," Adam says to Marten who was helping him prepare for his fight.
I still couldn't believe this was happening. I was nervous and scared for the outcome of this match. When Marten told me what he was doing, I had never felt so….. stunned. I understood the reasons why, but I couldn't completely wrap my head around it. I wasn't worth it, I wasn't worth Marten losing his bond with Marius, his maker/father. I wasn't worth Marten potentially getting killed for. I began to regret telling Marius about our previous connection and I especially regretted not telling Marten about Marius and I before we had gotten married. But I couldn't go back in time (or could I?) and change it.
Now, a family was going to be broken because of me. I hated myself for it. I thought about moving myself out of the equation and even suggested that to Marten, but he said no. He did not want to give me up, even if it meant losing his father, even his life.
I doubted that Marius would defeat him, not because he was incapable of it, but because there was no way he would kill his own son. I knew Marius' only option was to let Marten win, but from what Marten had said to me, he practically ordered Marius to give it his all in the fight.
"I'll see you out there," Adam says as he pats Marten on the back and walks out of the locker room.
He gives me a leering look before leaving, and I shudder. I still despised that man and could not understand why Marten continued to have him in our life. I had tried my best to recollect what happened that night during the party, but still couldn't remember. I called Amelia and asked her what happened that night. Her response was that she only remembered the fun she had with Adam after the party. I had asked her to make a spell to remember that night. So far, she hadn't called me back.
I go and stand in front of Marten with apprehension and concern on my face.
"Sookie, please don't look at me like that," Marten laments.
"I wish you wouldn't do this," I say to him wistfully. "It's not worth it."
"Yes it is," Marten says. "My pride and honour are priceless. I have worked hard to build that as the foundation of my life. He could have taken that away from me."
I sigh.
"You'll come watch me?" he asks me.
I had told him that I wasn't going to watch the fight as I felt like I wouldn't be able to handle it.
"I will," I say to him as I rub his arm. I knew that it would mean a lot to him.
"You look beautiful, by the way," he smiles as he looks down at my dress. I was wearing a blue satin and sparkling off-shoulder dress with a high slit on one side.
Apparently, word of this fight went around quickly and invitations to the event had sold for more than at least twenty grand a piece, some tickets had even sold for more than that. The elite of the vampire world had flocked to New York to witness this historic fight.
"Thanks," I smile to him as I put my hands on his bare chest. "Take care of yourself out there. Do what you need to do."
"I will," he replies. "Like I told you before, there's only two things that I'm good at, one of them is fighting."
I smile at him before giving him a kiss.
Ron comes in to escort me to my seat.
I walk up to my private box and am surprised to find who was sitting there.
"Pam!" I say in surprise. I had never been so happy to see her.
"Sookie," she smiles as she gives me a hug.
"What are you doing here?" I ask.
"Are you crazy? I wouldn't miss this for the world. Everyone in the supe world is talking about this fight. A lot of people are saying this fight should be held in a stadium instead of a little arena," Pam says. "I was about to pay five hundred thousand for a ticket when Sonya called me and said there was a seat with my name on it beside yours."
I smile as I hug her again. "Thank you for being here."
We gab a little, just catching up on some things before we are interrupted.
"So, this is the reason why we are all seeing this fight," a voice says behind me.
Pam and I turn around to see Rosamund standing there. She was dressed to the nines as usual in her gold-coloured caped dress.
"Our very own Helen of Troy," she says with a smirk. "There's a lot of vampire circles who are becoming more curiouser and curiouser about you. How one little telepath could cause the destruction of two of the world's most powerful vampires. I would be impressed, but I'm not, I'm disappointed."
"Rosamund, why don't you just fuck off," Pam sneers at her.
"Such manners Pam," she replies. "What would Eric say about that?"
She saunters off to her seat.
"What a bitch," Pam says.
"No doubt there," I reply.
"I still can't believe all of this is for you," Pam says. "But then again, I knew there was something special about you Sookie. You were never some ordinary blood bag."
"They're not," I reply. "Fighting over me."
"Sure Sook," she says rolling her eyes.
The ring announcer announces that the fight would be starting shortly. He says a few words to the crowd to get them riled up. He talks about how special the vampire community is and how much it has grown and how Marten and Marius represent how powerful vampires were. He says that both fighters deserve our respect and that may the best vampire win.
I put my palms together against my lips. I knew who I was rooting for. I didn't want Marten to meet his final death.
"Now may I introduce one of the most elusive and enigmatic vampires in the world, he is not only one of the oldest known vampires on the planet, but he is also the maker of our king, please welcome Marius!
The crowd is silent as we wait for his arrival. We wait what felt like hours, before Marius comes in from the entryway by himself wearing black sweatpants and a gray hoody. He had the hoody over his hair and walked towards the ring with his head down.
He gets into his corner of the ring and takes the hoody off his head. The crowd murmurs in response, but then claps and cheers loudly for him.
I purse my lips as I look at him, feeling sorry for the trouble that I had caused once again. As usual it seemed like I was nothing but trouble for anyone I became close to.
"Introducing your champion and the king of New York, the illustrious and charismatic Marten Meijer!"
The crowd erupts in elation as they cheer Marten on. He walks into the arena with Adam by his side. Marten doesn't acknowledge the crowd, but focuses on Marius in the ring. He doesn't smile or egg the crowd on as he gets into the ring and to his corner.
They take a minute or so to prepare before meeting in the centre. The referee gives them the rules and they both nod at each other, while giving each other one last look.
I wanted to close my eyes, I couldn't watch this. I was also starting to feel physically ill, like queasy. It had to be because of this. I close my eyes, fighting off the feeling of wanting to throw up.
But I keep my eyes open. Marten stares coldly at Marius, his fangs elongated.
They stare at each other, before Marten attacks Marius. The whole crowd erupts as they begin fighting. Well, rather it was Marten fighting Marius and Marius was in defensive mode. I knew that Marius would not want to fight him.
"Fight me!" Marten finally yells at him loudly. Marten rips off his shirt and the ladies in the crowd squeal in delight.
Finally, Marius lunges at Marten. He punches him in stomach hard which causes Marten to flinch in pain.
I gasp in anguish.
It only hurts him for a few seconds, but it caused stirred something up in him as Marten begins fighting back, managing to attack Marius with hard hits to his body and face.
My heart was racing as I continue to watch them trade punches and kicks.
Suddenly, my fae senses started to tingle. Something was about to happen and it wasn't good.
"Marten!" I yell loudly, but just at that same second, we all hear the loud bangs as the floor begins to shake.
"Pam!" I yell as she is suddenly attacked from behind.
I don't see her assailant, as I try to go to her to help her but then I'm grabbed from behind.
"Hello Sookie," is all Adam says to me as he holds me.
I don't have time to react as all of a sudden, I hear a loud pop and then met with silence.
Please don't tell me I've been kidnapped again…..
I stir awake, suddenly remembering what happened as I open my eyes quickly. I look around the room, it was still dark and there was a window high up near the ceiling. The moonlight illuminating the bare room. I was sitting on the floor, my hands tied with iron clamps. I look down. I was still in my dress, my body wasn't in pain, I was still fairly well physically. Emotionally, I was a wreck. Right away I call out to Marten through the bond, but it felt like I was far away from him. I could still sense his presence but could not feel his location. I focus on him and use my fae powers. I begin glowing blue as I finally reach him. He was feeling rage, but mostly fear for me. He knew I was gone. I send him emotions letting him know that I was alright for the moment. I hoped he could track my location.
As I continue sending messages to Marten, the door flings open so I stop.
"You really do have the spark?" Adam says as he stares at me. I give him a fierce look, I was going to kill him as soon as I was out of my clamps.
"What are you?" I ask him. There was no way in hell he was just an ordinary human being.
"I have a feeling you know the answer to that question," he comments as he walks towards me, still staring at me. "Adam Woods was easy to duplicate. A poor pathetic man whose only lot in life was drugs and women. He hated having to work for anything and expected everything to fall right into his plate. I killed him and took over his life, his own parents couldn't even tell the difference."
He begins transforming right in front of my eyes. Gone was the face of Adam Woods, but replaced with a full fledged faery with pointed ears and sharp razer teeth. He reminded me of…. Lochlan and Naeve. He was a water faery!
I suddenly feel frightened and scared.
"I'm a transformation faery but with a few extra gifts. I had heard that you were a telepath, so I created thoughts and memories in my head just for you to read. I cloaked my faery scent and replaced it with the putrid smell of a human man. It was easy to infiltrate your home and to get close to your rotting vampire spouse. That's another one of my tricks, I am able to dazzle everyone I meet, well everyone, excluding you. I couldn't get you to heel to my whims," he says.
"What's your name?" I ask him, I was scared but trying to keep focus. I wanted him to continue talking to me to give Marten time to get here.
"Tristan Helmond," he says as he bares his sharp teeth to me.
"You're a water faery," I state.
"Yes, and you killed my kin. You have no idea of the number of enemies you made amongst my people," he sneers.
"Are you going to kill me?" I ask him. I knew the answer to that question already. I wanted to cry in terror, but it would be pointless. There was no point in having a breakdown, it would only make it worse for me. Not that I expected my situation to improve.
"No, at least not yet," he says as he leans down and touches me.
I shudder at his touch.
"We thought about all the ways we were going to kill you, but then we decided on something better," he says. "You know that our numbers are dwindling. Many of our females have been having trouble reproducing and cannot carry faery children in their wombs to term. We need new blood in our line."
I could feel the bile threatening to come out of my mouth. I was still feeling nausea from earlier and it was just getting worse, now that I knew what his intentions were with me.
"I won't be your incubator," I say with disgust in my tone.
"You won't have a choice. You see, we will keep you alive as long as you keep producing babies for us. And once we have decided we have gotten enough children from you, you will be killed," he says menacingly.
"I'm more than human too, my children will be human," I say to him, my voice slightly cracking.
"We know that already," he says. "If the babies you bear have no spark, they will be terminated."
I almost break down as I shed a single tear. How could anyone be so heartless?
"Tonight, we will begin," he says as he leans close to me sniffing my hair. "I cannot wait to have your body, but first I need you to wash away all the rancid vampire scent on your body."
He tears off my dress in one stroke leaving me in my bra and panties. I scream out as he does so. He picks me up and carries me to a different room and throws me into a tub. The water was hot and I cry out in anguish.
"You will scrub every inch of your body!" he roars out at me.
I begin whimpering a little as I rub by skin with the soaps and scrubs provided. I try to take my time. He continues to watch me as he begins to rub his genitals.
I was going to throw up. I try to keep it down, but I couldn't. I lean over the tub and puke out whatever I had left in my stomach.
"You bitch!" he yells at me. "You will soon learn how submit to me!"
He leaves the room and comes back a few minutes with another faery, this time a female faery. He orders her in a foreign language and she cleans up my vomit.
"You are clean enough!" he growls a little while later. The water was becoming colder.
I take my time getting out of the tub, He throws a towel at me along with some sort of shimmering night gown. I take my time drying up my body and hair and throw the gown over my head. It was sheer and you could see my naked body through it.
"Follow me!" he growls as he walks out of the room.
I stagger slowly into the room. There was a large bed with just a white sheet on it.
"Get on the bed!" he orders me.
I flinch slightly as I walk to the bed slowly. Oh god, I can't believe this is happening…
I could feel my mind getting ready to drift away to another place as I prepare for what was to come.
I sit on the bed staring at the floor as he comes closer to me.
"This is going to be interesting," he says. "I've never fucked kin of Niall Brigant before. Well, you may not be much of kin to him, but you're something close."
He opens his mouth as he sniffs my skin. I close my eyes in disgust and fear.
"I will enjoy tasting your blood," he snarls.
I could feel his sharp teeth pierce the skin on my shoulder, but something happens. Right away he recoils away from me.
"No, it cannot be possible!" he growls. "You cannot be!"
I open my eyes and stare at him in pain, holding the place he bit me.
I was breathing hard and felt like I was going to faint.
"Who have you lain with woman?!" he yells as he is in front of me.
"Noooone, just my husband," I tell him in a petrified tone.
"Bullshit! You're lying! That fucking vampire cannot produce children!" he rages.
"What?! What are you talking about?" I say confused and scared.
"You are already with child!" he growls at me.
What! I couldn't be… Suddenly the room was spinning. I could hear myself breathing loudly as the lights begin dimming. I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer…
