Chapter 3 a nightmare and a relief

For a while all i could see was darkness but then through reddish vision i watch as zombots walk around me at first i thought i was a zombot until, with effort, i look down and see my body is flashing red. 'Ah cyber corruption.' The good part of starfall islands was once tails found how to access their information apparently he could access my mind, though he found he couldnt mess with my memories or actions, he found he could download info into my mind like the map of the island when i completed challenges. 'I wonder if they are avoiding me because the corruption makes me qualify as a robot.' Silently i was forced to watch as angel island was attacked again but i couldnt do anything other than cry internally and watch them get turned.

"This was all your fault you couldnt save them you weren't strong enough." I heard a voice say as i searched my memory i realize it was the voice of the end. I wanted to argue but between not being able to move and talk. I also knew it was true if it wasn't for silver i would have failed. The voice laughed. "Now you get to stand there and watch as everything slowly disintegrates." I watched as years passed and eventually zombots started disintegrates leaving no trace that it was ever a living creature. Finally i watch the last ten wandering around the planet. My friends. I knew there time was soon and it came quick i watched the chaotics go first. Then shadow. Then knuckles. Then eggman. Then Amy. Then rouge. And finally i watched as my brother tails was gone. it hurt so much but i was surprised to find my corruption disappear and i fell onto the island and i looked up to see blaze. My only friend to survive i wanted to be happy but between the look she was giving me and watching my friends die i couldnt.

"You call yourself a hero but you just sat there and watched them die. How pathetic." She then surprised me by kicking me with a fire propelled kick catching me in the jaw sending me flying into a pillar i got up but instead of getting in a fighting stance i just waited. "Can't even protect yourself how could you have been a hero if you give up and don't even have the strength to protect your friends." Uppercuts my chin with another fire propelled punch. I land in a crumpled heap and look up at her and get concerned seeing a saddistic grin witch looked unnerving on her beautiful ussaully stoic face. "Heh and to think a worthless peasant like you would have a crush on me." My body may have been broken but that sentence shattered my heart so much that I didn't see the flaming foot heading for me hitting me straight in the gut sending me off angel island and into the unforgiving water below.

I wake up hyperventilating to the sound of a long annoying beep and within seconds nurses appear telling me its ok and everything is fine after ten or so minutes i calm down and look around seeing i was in a hospital room. I wasn't big on hospitals but I wasn't too concerned since i was in a lot of pain. "How long have i been here?"

"3 days sir you were unconscious and have a slight concussion and had a couple broken ribs." Groans realizing i was going to have to be careful for a few days. "We are going to go get the doctor." I sigh as i wait patiently.

Thankfully I didn't have to wait long 10 minutes passed before the doctor arrived. "Hello sonic nice to see you are awake. So yes you have a slight concussion and couple broken ribs. Apparently your friends found you a thousand miles away. Heh even though we all thank you for saving our lives you really must be careful. But for now we have to hold you for another week." I groan not wanting to be copped up. "Good news is your friends are here they've been waiting for you to wake." I smile as he walks out and i hear him tell them. "Alright he can see you now but one at a time."

I was surprised to see my first visitor was shadow, even though he had grown out of his angry at the world and don't want to deal with others, he still didn't care for me much. I watch as he closes the door and walks over to my bed crossing his arms frowning. "I can't believe you faker trying to take on such a strong opponent without the aid of the emeralds." I was even more surprised to see his face to one of concern. "Sonic you need to be careful especially since you make my job easier. You can't die until our final battle." He smirked in the way i knew he wasn't serious but then got serious. "We both know i normally wouldn't say this but i view you as a brother and i refuse to lose any more of my family."

"Heh its good to hear that that's how I've seen it since we started tolerating each other and id be happy to call you a brother. Heh and of course I don't expect you to treat me differently if you did id be fearing the end of the world was here. Thank you shadow it means a lot." He nods as he walks out and next was tails. "Tails! I was wondering how you were doing."

"Me and knuckles are fine not long after you got hit we realized we couldnt defeat it we used the tornado to get off thankfully it focused on trying to get the master emerald."i sigh and nod. I smile and look at him opening my arms for a hug witch he accepts and i playfully ruffles his hair.

"I'm just glad you are ok bud." I smile as i hold him.

"Yeah I'm glad you're ok. Speaking of that though as soon as robotnic found out he got permission to send some robots to search for the emeralds." I nod glad that we got a head start. "Yeah he is waiting to talk to you. You need rest so we better rush this."

"Ok bud I'm glad to see you again especially safe."i watch as he leaves and i grunt in pain as a pink blur latches onto me. "Ammmmyyyyy!"

I could feel tears in my side. "Sonic I'm so glad to see you're ok. Please don't do that again."

"Heh well i kinda have to but ill be stuck here for a week. Worse motel I've ever been to. They don't let you leave." She chuckles slightly but slaps my shoulder.

"You never know when not to joke." She glares at me slightly as she pulls away. "But I'm glad to see you again" her phone starts ringing. "Oh uh ill be back tomorrow the company apparently needs me" i smile proud to see her business was running smoothly i knew she could do it. Next person and presumably the last was eggman.

"Hello sonic good to see your eyes open. Gave everyone a scare." I nod. "So as tails told you I've already sent a search party out they have reportedly found 2 already. 4 more to go before you can face this new titan. And before you ask no i have no idea where it came from but other than certain changes it definitely is a ancient titan if i had to assume I'm guessing it was one that wasn't completed in time."

"Probably but thanks doc your help seems to be invaluable in this time of need." He nods as he walks out and i close my eyes ready for sleep especially after not getting any good rest the last few months when a familiar yet beatiful voice interrupts.

"Didnt think i would visit you?" I look into the stunningly beautiful golden eyes of blaze. I physically flinch my nightmare still fresh in my mind i wanted to be happy to see here but at the same time i was ready for her to start hitting and berating me again. 'Come on sonic it was a nightmare not reality.' "Heh why so scared? Aren't you the cocky hero."

"Heh that was when i was young and dumb I've matured. Now i understand the danger. Heh but it doesn't mean I can't run in first and worry about the consequences later. By the way how are you still here shouldn't you be home so our dimensions don't collide?" I started worrying that she lost her emeralds and we were facing imminent destruction.

Blaze giggles. "Stop worrying i found a way to spread out the energy of the emeralds so they wouldn't interact with the chaos emeralds. Hehe who do you think helped tails with the generators." I stared at her with my mouth agape. "Hehe its been very beneficial for our dimensions we've been helping each other with tech and food."

I smile. "It's good to have you around more. I've been worried about you. What's going on with eggman nega?"

"Worried about me? I'm offended you think I can't handle myself." I blush realizing that i could have eluded to my feelings but also how she interpreted it and quickly shake my head sputtering for a reply only to be surprised as she laughs. "It's ok sonic I'm messing with you. Your personality was slowly rubbing off on me when I've been visiting. But nega is locked up he has been the last 5 years granted his robots have been trying to break him out. Otherwise I've had to mostly deal with criminals."

Nods and smirks. "How about your princess duties?"

"Well mom and dad found a new successor especially since they didn't want the sol protector as a queen." She sighs.

"Ah I'm sorry to here but hey at least you can focus on protect them without distractions." She nods slightly. "So why'd you come visit a beaten up hedgehog?"

"Because i missed you sonic. Until recently i was too busy to see you or cream, witch i did do while you were asleep. It's good to see you again. Last time we saw each other was 6 years ago I've been very busy after the train mystery." I nod and we spend the next 2 hours talking about the past 6 years but sadly the doctor said visiting hours were over. "Well i guess it's time to go but i will visit as soon as i can."

I nod and sighs as my heart races and slowly falls into the first peaceful sleep in years.
