"Well, we should consider the fact that time is also a dimension." Diana said, considering the possibility.

"Sure, time and relative dimension in space." Jesse nodded. "The Key could have arrived at a different time. She could have arrived fairly recently, but why is the Key here at all? I mean, wasn't it used on the other side to send her here? So why didn't it stay on the other side?"

"Unless pouring it into the opening could cause it to also come though the opening." Diana shrugged. "I'm guessing here, because I honestly don't know the answers. But if we look at it like a liquid and pour the liquid onto a piece of paper, the paper weakens and can be easily torn where the water hit it. The water also passes through the paper to the other side and can be collected. The paper dries out and the water evaporates and that can also be collected. But the damage leaves a weak spot in the paper."

"A weak spot like the Hellmouth, which is an area where reaiity is torn." Faith nodded, getting it. "And we guard it to keep it from being opened again. Being a weak spot would make it easy to open it again."

"Which means she might also be looking for the spot she originally arrived in." Diana observed. "Because it's already weak and leads right to the Hell she came from."

"We're aware of multiple Hellmouths around the world." Mason stated. "Some have managed to be sealed shut so they're no longer leaking energy, if the one she's interested in is one of those, we know where they are and the Watchers Council can station guards on them to try to stop her from using the Key to reactivate them. But the one here in Sunnydale is the largest ever known, it could be the one she's interested in."

"Or it could be a previously unknown one." Diana sighed. "Having the others watched is a good idea, finding an unknown one, especially given that we may be under a time constraint, may be impossible. It could be under ground, buried in an earthquake or in mid air or under the ocean, we just don't know."

"If it is this Hellmouth the monks were morons to send the Key here at all." Jesse muttered. "Let alone sending it to the person officially guarding the Hellmouth in question. Or did they have no clue she could track them or any idea how she succeeded in finding the Key in the first place?"

"Especially given that the Order of Dagon is or was housed in a monastery in a very remote region of Chechoslavokia." Diana said. "Near no town or village and completely out of touch with the rest of the world, as far as we know."

"How do we stop a god?" Faith asked quietly. "Can gods even die?"

"Yes, they can, but only in specific ways or with specially crafted weapons." Diana answered. "One god can kill another or a god can empower an avatar to kill in its name. Any weapon forged by Hephaestus could kill another god, even if wielded by a mortal, because he used Adamantine, a metal that was conjured, not formed in the Earth. Or by tying the life force to something that could be destroyed. If the moon is destroyed all gods tied to it are destroyed as well, for instance."

"Like Xena in the recent season was empowered to kill the Greek gods." Faith was still an avid fan of the show and took very good care of the once-a-toy-then-made-real-chakram she had after being possessed by Xena..."Wait a minute!" Faith exclaimed. "I was possessed by Xena and my toy chakram turned real. On the Xena show she was recently given the power to kill gods -."

"As long as her daughter lived." Jesse reminded her. "If Eve died, so did her power to kill gods."

"And Gabrielle had or seemed to have power while I was pregnant, but we have seen no hint of it since she was born." Faith reminded them. "But I was thinking of the coincidence of Xena having the power to kill gods and a god problem gets dropped into my lap. But consider that both Xena and Heracles, the show it's a spin off from, have had episodes featuring some of the real gods as being actors on the show. Maybe I'm reaching here, but because of the Accords the gods can only come in where invited. The idiot who did the spell on Halloween invited Janus and all four of us were left with something made real by that spell."

"Ceridian riding passenger in my head, teaching me and making jokes." Jesse tapped his temple. "All of us remembering Ancient Greek, the real Ancient Greek, not the language spoken on the show. Cordelia remembering how to use a staff."

"Xander having been affected by the spell in another timeline and remembering the military knowledge he knew under the spell." Mason nodded. "And a psychic ability that allows him to tap into it in this timeline. Janus may have been trying to help, he'd been invited in, he had the opportunity. He can see both the past and the future. There may be a way to kill this Hell god and Janus either gave us the means or gave us clues to help us find the means."

"The chakram." Faith retrieved it and held it up. "It stayed real, the only physical thing that did as far as we know. It's not the same design as the one Xena is currently using, but that might not matter, if it's made of something that can kill a god, Adamantine, a metal that is conjured."

A/N Adamantine is a mythical metal used by Hephaestus, god of the forge. Adamantium is from the comics, inspired by adamantine, I think.
