Chapter 4: Abnormality... Or normality?

/

Start of recovered audio recording.

Police Officer: Musutafu Police Station, good evening. How can I help you?

Woman (heavy breathing, shaky voice): Good evening... I... Someone needs to come... There's something outside... something that... that shouldn't exist!

Officer: Calm down ma'am. Take a deep breath. Where are you right now?

Woman: I'm at home, in the northern district... near the old warehouse up north, where no one goes anymore... That's where I saw it.

Officer: Alright, I'm noting that down. What exactly did you see? Can you describe what you observed?

Woman: It's... it's huge, officer. Bigger than a human, and it stands crooked, like its bones aren't in the right places. Its skin... it's like... gray, almost... slimy, shiny under the streetlights... and its eyes... Oh my god, it's fucking eyes…

Officer: What about its eyes, ma'am?

Woman: They... they reflect light... but not like an animal's. They're like glowing holes, empty and... they looked at me! I met its gaze, and it was like... like it saw right into me! And that smile... that horrible smile, full of... teeth, like sharp fangs, pointed... oh my god!

Officer: Alright, stay calm. You're safe inside, correct? Lock all your doors and windows, ma'am.

Woman (breathing more rapidly): Yes, yes, but... I don't know if that'll be enough. It moves so fast! One moment it was at the other end of the street, and the next... it was closer, like it was gliding across the ground! And its arms... they're so long, almost dragging behind it... but... but it could move them, and... Damn, it looked like some kind of human chicken!

Officer: Calm down. We're sending a patrol, alright? Stay on the line with me. Where is the creature now?

Woman: I... I lost sight of it... it's hiding in the shadows of a building, watching... I know it's watching me, waiting! I can feel its eyes on me even from here! It's like it knows I'm here, that I'm looking at it...

Officer: Listen to me, ma'am. Keep your phone with you and stay away from the windows. You're not in danger as long as you stay inside and remain quiet.

Woman (voice seems to become hysterical): But you don't understand! It's not human! It doesn't belong here! It's like... like an abomination from a nightmare! And that smile... that smile won't leave me! I still see it in my head... it's like it's trying to say something... like it's... trying to... (voice becomes a whisper) like it wants to devour me...

Officer: Stay with me, ma'am. Do you have any neighbors or someone nearby who can be there to reassure you?

Woman: No, no, I'm alone! They all left; no one stays in this neighborhood at night, outside, you understand? I'm completely alone! And that thing... I know it knows I'm alone... it's waiting... waiting for me to lose control...

Officer: We have a unit on the way, alright? They'll be there shortly. Stay with me, focus on my voice. Tell me, did this creature make any moves toward you? Did it try to get closer?

Woman (breathing seems to quicken once again): I... I think... I think it's closer... it's nearer, I... I think I hear it... like it's moving, right there, just behind the door! You need to make them come faster, it's going to get in, I know it, I KNOW IT!

Officer: Ma'am, listen to me. No one is getting in. You are safe. The unit is almost there. Take deep breaths...

Woman (sobbing, gasping): It... it's scratching at the door! I can hear it! It's too late! It's here, it's right here! It's going to get in! Help me! Do something! It knows I'm here! (Screams of terror as something breaks can be heard) No, no, NO! (Phone seems to drop, followed by the sound of crashing and silence...)

Officer: Ma'am? Ma'am, are you there?

End of recovered recording.

Tires screeched against the ground, a siren blared, and four doors opened.

Officer Sadao Yada looked around the dimly lit street, illuminated by a few old streetlights... Damn, he had forgotten just how creepy this neighborhood could get at this hour... No one was outside; everyone was scared out of their minds since a few kidnappings had occurred in the place.

The police had sent a few patrols into the area, but they hadn't found anything. Even organized searches had turned up nothing... And now, here they were, maybe with a lead, possibly the culprit—a guy with a strange quirk, probably a psycho or some junkie. Or could this be the kidnapper?

He raised his voice, turning to his colleagues, one hand resting on his car door.

"Suou Taro, Arakaki Seitaro, follow me. Domen Yuri, stay here. If we fire, call for backup. If you don't hear from us in five minutes, contact the station."

"Understood.", his colleagues replied.

Sadao cautiously approached the only house that stood out... The one with the door smashed in.

"Weapons out.", Taro reminded them. Right... He pulled out his Beretta, checked the magazine, and pointed it at the door...

From here, he could already see the claw marks on the walls around it, and some kind of substance corroding the wall near the door's edges... Acid? Could the guy have multiple quirks?

He swallowed nervously. He and his two colleagues were veterans of the Final War. Nomus... he had heard stories about them...

If this was one of them... They'd need backup, maybe even a hero... Lethal force even, if it came to that.

"Careful, guys...", Seitaro muttered through his teeth, apparently having come to the same conclusion as him.

The three of them reached the door and stepped inside... It was dark in there... Sadao pulled out a flashlight and advanced into the entryway. A coat rack lay broken on the floor, coats, hats, and other items scattered across the ground, half-melted by acid... There were even more claw marks on the walls...

And damn... What was that smell?

It was so awful that the man waved a hand in front of his face... Damn, it reeked of rot and and something burned...

The trio started with the first room, the kitchen, but found nothing. The house was bigger than it looked... The fridge had been smashed, its contents strewn everywhere, half-eaten, bitten, or crushed. In fact, anything edible had been ransacked, like a wild animal had passed through...

Suddenly, there was a sound like a groan of pain, almost... human... coming from the hallway. A shiver ran down Sadao's back... The hairs on his neck stood on end.

There was something unnatural about that sound... But he couldn't get his finger on it...

The three officers exchanged glances, their faces looking even paler in the dim light of the place... Their eyes wide...

They returned to the hallway, following the strange noises... Groaning now mixed with gurgling and growling...

However, as Seitaro stepped out, he kicked something.

He pointed his flashlight downward...

An egg. A very large egg. Covered in some kind of shiny red substance.

It looked like blood, but it wasn't.

"Damn it, what the hell is this crap…", muttered the officer as he nudged it with his foot again.

The three of them stared at the egg, almost hypnotized. Shit, shit, shit, what the hell was this thing?!

A sudden hooting sound was followed by a shrill scream. The three officers spun around... and immediately, Taro was knocked over by a... thing.
It was abnormally large, humanoid, hunched over like an gorilla, with a long neck and curved arms whose fingers seemed fused together, resembling the posture of a chicken's wings. It was bloated, with pale skin dripping with a liquid that looked like sweat, and something else.

Taro screamed in terror and agony as the creature tore into his abdomen, spilling guts, blood, and other fluids onto the floor and walls.

As fast as a snake, it suddenly plunged its head into the gaping wound, biting into the flesh and thrashing its head back, ripping out the liver and stomach, which slid down its gullet like a serpent devouring its prey.

The worst part was that whatever it was doing, the skin, muscle—hell, even the bones from Sadao's perspective—seemed to be dissolving, as if being eaten away by acid. The absolute worst part? Taro was alive and conscious the whole time.

Sadao wanted to vomit, frozen as he was, but instinct kicked in. Without thinking, he opened fire, thirteen rounds of 9mm Parabellum embedding themselves in the creature's back and the back of its head.

The air filled with screams of pain.

But instead of collapsing like any living thing would after taking so many hits, the abomination twisted its neck unnaturally, looking almost directly at them.

Its jaw was full of bloodstained, oversized teeth in a mouth far too small, with a tiny, nearly non-existent nose and small, bulbous, almost blind white eyes.

The remaining two officers emptied their magazines into the creature, damn it, what kind of quirk did this bastard have? The thing absorbed the impacts, screeched, and leaped forward.

Sadao and Seitaro pressed themselves against the wall as the creature narrowly missed them, slamming into the far wall of the corridor and getting its head stuck in the plaster.

But then, a loud cracking sound came from the floor. The two officers lowered their flashlights to see the egg's shell breaking, and before they could react, a miniature creature was already crawling out of it.

Seitaro raised his gun, pulled the trigger, but the weapon clicked, the magazine completely empty. His eyes widened in horror as the little monster leaped onto his face, slashing at it with its claws.
The officer screamed, and Sadao, panicking, tried to pull the thing off him.

Unfortunately, as soon as he touched it, a sharp pain shot through his hands, and he pulled them back with a scream. Looking at them, he saw in horror that they were being eaten away by acid.
His already rapid breathing from terror intensified as his overloaded brain told him he might lose his hands.

A panic attack overtook him, and he couldn't manage it.

The creature stuck in the wall finally freed itself, turning with a howl. Sadao turned to face it, his senses completely overwhelmed by animal panic, and ran at a speed he didn't think possible for a human beeing out of the house, the monster hot on his heels.

The creature, however, was stopped by several gunshots, one of which pierced its eye, forcing it to retreat into the house, roaring in rage and pain.

Sadao staggered the last few meters before his body gave out, collapsing entirely as the adrenaline faded.

/

Honestly, Izuku wasn't feeling confident at all.

The radio call had been quick, panicked, and the background noises had apparently been loud enough for everyone at the dispatch station to hear.

Highly dangerous quirk, though Officer Yuri, who had made the call, couldn't provide details. Heroes were already reportedly on their way, along with a contingent of heavily armed police.

And Izuku was part of the assault team. He was going into that damn house…

The van came to an abrupt halt, sending him crashing into his neighbor on the right with a grunt. The other man groaned and elbowed him, forcing him to sit up straight.

"Get up, rookie.", the man snapped as the van's rear doors opened, letting them out.

The area was bathed in yellow, blue, and red lights from the sirens and headlights, both from police patrol cars and an ambulance where Izuku could see paramedics frantically trying to save someone.
There were also a few heroes—Izuku counted four—standing ready to leap into action, as professional as ever.

Several vehicles had been arranged as barricades about ten meters from the house's front door. A... thing… For lack of a better word, had been shot down, lying sprawled on the pavement in a pool of blood that sizzled as it corroded the ground.

The stench was revolting, and Izuku could even see puddles of vomit here and there. It smelled like a mass grave.

The perimeter's supervisor approached them, looking particularly stressed and confused.

"Finally, the entry team!", said the man, looking them up and down, inspecting their equipment, "I don't think this gear will be enough…", he admitted.

Izuku felt his heart almost stop at that, but the sergeant leading them, the old man who had been his examiner, dismissed the comment with a move of the hand.

"It'll be enough. Now out with it—what's the situation?"

The supervisor hesitated for a moment, opened his mouth to speak, then closed it again before sighing.

"Damn it… I… I don't know. This isn't normal. It's like nothing we've seen before. This thing apparently has multiple quirks and—"

"A Nomu, then.", the sergeant spat, but the look in the other's man eyes was saying something else, "Damn… Like the ones we fought during the last war."

The man turned to Izuku and the other officers, some of whom stiffened at the mention of Nomu—creatures that brought back bad memories of a dark era.

Izuku even felt a shiver run down his spine. A… Nomu? And they were supposed to deal with it?

"Alright, we go in, put some lead in this bastard's skull, and get out.", the sergeant said, "Simple as that. Let's move."

The supervisor blocked his path as the sergeant turned to leave.

"Wait, Sergeant, I haven't given you clearance to go in. Or even told you what you need to do. There are two officers and a potential civilian in there—you can't just go in guns blazing and risk killing them."

The sergeant grabbed the man by the collar and started yelling in his face.

"THEY'RE DEAD! A DAMN NOMU DOESN'T LEAVE ANY SURVIVORS IN ITS WAKE! IF THEY HAVEN'T COME OUT, IT'S BECAUSE THEY'RE ALREADY DEAD!"

"You're willing to risk your men's lives, then?", the man hissed angrily, to which the sergeant replied fiercely,

"They won't die if they follow orders and don't screw up."

"You know that's impossible.", the other man countered, trying to shake off the old man.

The sergeant released him with an angry motion and went to speak with the heroes, motioning for the entry team to stay put.

Izuku was both confused and stressed. Were they going in? Or not?

The sergeant returned, followed by a hero whose costume was covered in stylized flames. The man was warming up his arms, cracking his knuckles.

"The fire will probably keep them at bay.", the sergeant growled, "Now, can we go, or are we going to waste more time?"

The supervisor seemed to hesitate but finally gave them the go-ahead. Izuku followed the group, staying in the middle, armed as he was. As they passed near the creature, he took a quick glance at it...

Pale, lifeless eyes reflected the light of their flashlights, seemingly staring at the sky...

They entered the house and were immediately greeted by aggressive howls and gargling sounds.

Their flashlights illuminated what was left of the two officers, and someone at the back started vomiting. Honestly, the green-haired boy himself felt himself become pale and bile rise in his throat, but he mustered enough willpower to hold it down.

Swallowing the disgusting semi-liquid that burned his throat, he forced himself to ignore the revolting sight. A disemboweled body melting away and another half-devoured, its face shredded by claws… Both with eggs nestled inside their remains.

He kept his weapon raised, a drop of sweat trickling down his temple.

Alright, where was that damn thing?

Something suddenly barreled down the hallway, gunshots echoing along with cries of pain.

"On the left!", shouted someone, and sure enough, a creature burst through the kitchen door surveyed by two officers. It was riddled with bullets, even in one eye, but it was still standing—and very angry. Izuku and his two colleagues opened fire in panic, making the creature stagger backward under the rain of bullets. The hero behind them, acting as support, rushed into close combat and delivered a flaming punch that sent the creature crashing into a wall. The hero followed up with a wave of fire that mercilessly engulfed the creature, burning it severely.

However, the apartment's temperature began to rise…

There was a crack, and Izuku turned his head… The egg shells… They were breaking! He could already see the head of a creature emerging. Switching targets, he pulled the trigger, obliterating the head and torso of one of the newborns, which let out a piercing shriek, but two others leapt forward, ready to maul them like dogs. One launched itself at one of Izuku's colleagues, and he heard a scream.

As for Izuku, he sidestepped, the small creature slamming comically into the wall and sliding down.

Izuku crushed it's head under his boot, ensuring it's death. A bad idea, as he felt his soles sizzle. Right, these things had acid for vital fluids.

Gunfire erupted everywhere in the house as the officers held their ground, even as two additional creatures seemingly appeared out of nowhere.

Izuku turned to assist his colleague, only to see with horror that the man was already on the ground, shredded, while the newborn creature, now the size of a large dog—after just fifteen seconds—was crouched over him.

He cried out in disbelief and opened fire. His rifle spat two bullets before clicking empty.

"FUCK!", yelled the green-haired boy as the creature turned its gaze toward him.

The creature opened its mouth wide and roared, saliva splattering toward Izuku. He fumbled to reload, nearly dropping his magazine, before landing a shot straight into its gullet.

The thing paused momentarily, its brain processing what had just happened, before leaping at him. Izuku sidestepped again, and the creature barreled forward like a bowling ball, plowing through his colleagues and slicing the tendons of one officer, who fell to the ground screaming.

Faced with this new threat in their ranks, the officers were forced to retreat in chaos, dragging their injured comrade while leaving two men behind—one dragged back mid-escape. They were deemed lost.

Izuku's eyes were wide as saucers. He could feel nothing but his feet—one now bare—pounding the ground and his heart hammering in terror. Even his breathing seemed eerily quiet, though from the outside, it sounded like a tractor. His colleagues were no better off; they were all running on survival instinct.

But the worst was yet to come…

"HAHAHA! LOOK AT THESE PATHETIC COPS! CAN'T EVEN HANDLE A SIMPLE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE CASE!"

A mocking voice taunted them. All eyes turned toward a man whose appearance starkly contrasted with the dark atmosphere around him. His pale blue, messy hair fell in unruly strands around a black mask that concealed his face. He wore a large bluish parka and a thick white scarf around his neck. His hands, clad in blue gloves, wielded large, circular weapons around his wrists, looking like revolver barrels, ready to unleash their contents, which dangled by his sides.

He gazed at the security setup with sparkling, mocking eyes, standing alone as if daring them. A few officers aimed their weapons at him, and Izuku heard murmurs around him.

He himself had seen this guy on TV when he was younger and knew who he was.

The Cider House was an extremely well-organized gang of criminals before the war—vultures who preyed on areas unprotected by heroes or law enforcement or lightly guarded police perimeters. They had suffered heavy losses in a massive street fight with civilians during the war, resulting in heavy casualties on both sides. They were thought to be inactive, but apparently not.

"SURRENDER!", shouted someone, and a hero stepped between the man and the cars. Izuku gripped his weapon tighter.

For now, he pushed aside what had happened in the house of horrors he had just left. A new danger stood before them.

The man laughed.

"You really think I'm going to surrender? Come on, guys!", he spreaded his arms, "Do you really think I'd do it just like that? You know me and my crew better than that!"

Then he turned his head to look at the house.

"Hey, that's a pretty nice house you've got there… Would be a shame if… It went up in smoke!"

No sooner had he said that than a projectile flew and hit the house, eliciting cries of surprise. There was an explosion, but instead of fire, ice froze the house solid.

That was too much, and his intentions were clear. They had been from the start.

"FIRE!"

Gunfire erupted as pistols, assault rifles, and shotguns opened fire, accompanied by quirk projectiles. The entire perimeter focused its efforts now that the threat from the house was supposedly neutralized.

However, a wave seemed to surge from nowhere, swallowing the projectiles without any damage. Laughing and mocking, villains appeared atop the wave, surfing, and soon their leader rose on the wave as well.

"COME ON, GUYS! LET'S GO!", he shouted.

The wave advanced, and the villains jumped down onto the officers, who were caught off guard by the water.

Gunshots rang out, bodies rolled across the ground, fists clashed—it was absolute chaos.

Then suddenly… Something rolled to Izuku's feet. He looked down, eyes widening… What?

A cylinder.

Unpinned.

"GRENADE!", screamed the greenette, diving to the side, covering his head and curling up.

The grenade didn't explode.

-PSCHHHHH!-

Acrid smoke began spreading everywhere, and gunfire ceased as everyone tried to avoid accidentally shooting an ally, though the sounds of fighting, now accompanied by coughing, persisted.

Izuku inhaled a whiff and started coughing as he stood up. Tear gas ?

He could barely orient himself, relying solely on the sirens lights faintly piercing through the smoke. Advancing cautiously, he was unsure of his location within the perimeter. Eventually, however, he stepped onto nearly frozen grass. Izuku looked down. He was in the garden of the house.

He couldn't see a thing… but his instincts screamed at him to turn back and return to the compromised zone.

The sounds of fighting echoed behind him, and he even caught a glimpse of a pillar of fire rising from the ground—probably from the hero who had been with them earlier.

Yeah, he had to return to the perimeter… Wait, there was a perimeter? Why?

Izuku moved as fast as he could toward the flashing lights of the sirens. A jet of gas barely missed him, and by the glow of a police car siren nearby, he saw the leader of the Cider House fighting one-on-one against a hero. Actually, how many heroes were there again?

He still moved forward, head turned toward the fight, and not looking forward, he collided with something that groaned.

He fell onto his back, dropping his weapon, and looked up—only to meet the lenses of a gas mask.

A section of the smoke… Since when had smoke been there?—revealed a man. He was heavily equipped: a bulletproof vest over a green checkered shirt, a helmet, and a gas mask. The ensemble was completed by black combat boots and blue pants.

There was also a black armband with a round patch on his right arm… A four-pronged pitchfork pointing vertically, with two torch-like shapes emitting stylized flames. The design was in black and white.

His grey eyes looked at him in surprise.

Izuku returned his gaze, equally astonished. For once, he wasn't hallucinating—he had never seen this guy… here. But where was 'here',exactly? And what if he was hallucinating or dreaming? The last thing he remembered was sorting files, as usual.

He convinced himself he was probably asleep. Yeah, he was dreaming. But… he shouldn't be asleep!

The two men stared at each other until, suddenly, a villain from the Cider House appeared. Izuku recognized the threat and raised his weapon… Wait, he had a weapon? Yeah, he could've sworn he had one… but where was it.

The villain froze upon seeing him, cursed audibly through his mask, and lunged at him.

Izuku rolled to the side, and the soldier—what soldier?—raised his weapon and fired. The weapon didn't fire bullets but some sort of syringes. The first missed the green-haired boy by inches, while the second hit his bulletproof vest without causing damage. In response, Izuku drew his pistol and fired at the villain who was getting up. Two shots to the right leg brought him down with a cry.

Now then…

He immediately forgot what he wanted to do. The soldier took two hurried steps, pulling out some sort of… What was that, even?—from his pocket and raised his arm.

Sensing the man's hostility toward him, Izuku tried to raise his hands… but realized too late that he should have done so earlier.

The needle pierced his neck, bringing a burning pain. Reflexively, he raised his arms, grabbing the man's arms and trying to free himself from… whatever was stabbing his neck—he couldn't quite remember what it was.

But he suddenly felt too weak and exhausted. His hand slipped, falling to the ground, and he closed his eyes…

/

Damn, he had one hell of a headache…

Izuku set his pen down and leaned back in his office chair, rubbing his temples. Ever since that operation against that madman who had attacked his ex's house using his Quirk—a sort of ice Quirk that had frozen the entire house—

He'd killed his wife, and the police and heroes had to kill him in self-defense…

Damn, the press—especially Scoop of the Chronicles of the Population—had made a big deal out of it. As usual, the police bore the brunt of the media criticism. The journalists had no idea what it was like…

But at least that bastard wouldn't be bothering anyone anymore. Apparently, he had been a rapist and had murdered several others.

Izuku tilted his head back, grimacing as he touched his neck. There was just one problematic thing he couldn't understand—the bump on his neck, like after a needle prick. Eh, he'd probably scratched himself on something while entering the house with the intervention team… There had been ice spikes, stalagmites, and all that stuff.

Actually, now that he thought about it… There was another thing that didn't add up…

Sadao had ended up in the hospital in isolation, so traumatized he had gouged out his own eyes and tongue while they were en route to their destination, and they lost four guys, to one fucking guy (all had died because of frostbite)… Honestly, Izuku felt sorry for Sadao and was quite worried. What had he seen?

Had the deaths of two of his colleagues affected him so deeply? And yet… Izuku remained pensive, massaging his neck…

But he was interrupted in his thoughts.

"Hey! Izuku!", a hand landed on his arm, and he literally jumped. Kane withdrew his hand, startled, "Wow! I didn't know you could jump like that!"

"Kane…", Izuku sighed, running a hand over his face, a little exasperated, "For God's sake…"

His head was killing him. It felt like someone had hit him with a frying pan…

"You okay?", Kane asked. The greenette brushed the concern off with a wave of his hand.

"Yeah, just a headache… Anyway, what are you still doing at the station? Aren't you supposed to be home?"

The redhead shook his head.

"Nah, you're right, but since we apparently lost five people…"

Izuku nodded.

"Yeah, three of the four from the initial group… And two of the entrance team… What a fucking mess… You're here to replace them?"

Kane yawned.

"Yeah, they woke me up in the middle of my sleep… As for you, you were on the intervention team. Why aren't you resting, especially at this hour and with a headache like that?"

Izuku grabbed a glass of water he'd taken earlier and downed half of it in one gulp.

"I've got three days off after this. I'm taking the opportunity to finish the paperwork before I get swamped… And I need to distract myself… After all those deaths..."

Kane raised an eyebrow, but suddenly had an idea.

"Got any plans this weekend?"

The boy shook his head.

"Nothing specific, just relaxing for a few days. Maybe I'll visit my mom while I'm at it…"

Kane silently mouthed an 'Ah' before suggesting.

"Since you're free, I recently entered a scratch-off contest at a store and won… I've got three tickets for the cinema. Want to go see a movie one of these days?"

Izuku hesitated, then sighed.

"Why not… Who else is coming?"

"Ina's coming too. She's off duty as well.", the redhead replied.

The green-haired boy thought about it for a moment… Yeah, he needed to relax a bit too… Forget the deaths, and just… Relax... So why not? It wouldn't hurt, right?

"Sure, I'm in."

Kane clapped his hands together in satisfaction, a grin appearing on his face.

"Alright! We've got a deal then! I'll send you a message this afternoon if I'm not too tired. See you!"

Izuku smiled and waved as Kane headed off to his post. Just then, a sharp pain spiked through his head, making him groan as he pressed a hand to his temple. Damn... The headache was coming back even stronger this time...

There was no reason for him to have a concussion, so why was he feeling this kind of pai-

-Bzzzzt!-

A vibration in his pocket interrupted his thoughts, followed by the soft ping of a notification. Pulling out his phone, he checked the screen. The number wasn't in his contacts...

Huh?

He opened the message and read it.

'Good morning, Mr. Midoriya,

Following certain events that have come to our attention, we would like to meet with you to discuss the matter.

Sincerely,

Koiso Asaka, HR Manager.'

The green-haired young man frowned. He didn't know anyone named Koiso Asaka here. Opening the conversation, he replied:

'Good morning, Ms. Asaka,

I don't believe I know you, nor have I heard your name before. I'd like to know how you obtained my name and number.

Secondly, I'd appreciate more details about what you wish to discuss before agreeing... or declining.

Have a good day.'

The response came almost immediately, which caught Izuku off guard, he wouldn't lie.

'The means by which we obtained your information is not important.

As for the topic of our discussion, it concerns a job opportunity. Rest assured, you won't lose your current position... Think of it as a complementary role.

It's a job of great importance, occasionally dangerous, let's not sugarcoat it.'

Izuku remained deeply skeptical about the offer, but his curiosity was undeniably piqued...

'Why choose me? And what kind of dangers?'

This time, the reply took longer to arrive.

'We cannot provide more details at this time. All formalities will be addressed during our meeting.
As for why you were chosen, you fit the ideal profile for our employees.'

'What do you mean by that?'

'The meeting will take place at 23 Camino Avenue at 11:45 AM in two days. Ask for my name at the reception, and they'll guide you further. Best regards.'

Izuku was immensely irritated by the vagueness and prepared to send another message or even call when his phone suddenly shut off and restarted, much to his confusion.

When he reopened his messaging app, there was no trace of the conversation. However, the address mentioned in the message was now saved in his notes.

Izuku blinked twice, staring at the screen.

"What the actual fuck…"

Mhm. I brought SCP-3199 'Humans, Refuted', for those who are familiar with him, with a leash and told it to wreck chaos. Which happened. Maybe a little too well. That's why our Foundation friends came over.

Alright, now onto some clarifications. The tear gas mostly. It's a complete invention. An amnestic gas grenade. It was never even mentionned, so I decided to create one! It will most likely be it's only appearance because of the... Well... Chaos it causes. Secondly, the mobile task force described here: Epsilon-6 'Village Idiots'... And... *Chuckle* Mobile Task Force Iota-76 'Cider House'. Indeed, I decided to actually make the Cider House, a Mobile Task Force. Let me give a brief summary:

Mobile Task Force Iota-76 'Cider House' is a platoon sized mobile task force which role is to distract both police and heroes forces by playing the villains to allow other task forces to recover any anomalous object. They are mostly composed of some of the rare authorized personnel with quirks in the midst of the foundation.

Oh, also, if I can suggest something, try reading the first part, when Sadao and the three others enter the house, with the MHA theme 'Mind Of Evil'. Gosh... It makes it so much creepier...
