When Raven arrived in Headmaster Grimm's office, the headmaster was there with his usual stern expression. But for some reason, Apple and Justine were also there. Apple had a rather excited look on her face. But Justine looked rather meek. "Please, have a seat, Ms. Queen." Headmaster Grimm offered.
Raven took the seat placed across the headmaster's desk. "Okaaay, so, what's up?"
"Well, Ms. Queen, I have taken the liberty of assigning you and your fellow schoolmates in a special assignment for hextra credit." Headmaster Grimm began pacing around Raven. "You and other students need to try new things and be involved in more school activities. So, we'll be presenting a school play, 'Snow White', with Ms. Dancer directing and you and Apple playing the lead roles."
"WHAT?!" Raven stood up in shock.
"I know! Isn't it great?" Apple chirped with glee.
Justine rolled her eyes.
Headmaster Grimm's lips curved into a satisfied grin. "You must be thrilled about this. You, Apple, and your classmates performing the most influential story in the Fairytale world."
Raven was disgusted by his amused face. "This isn't about trying new things and being involved! You're just doing this so-"
"Ah, ah, ah." Headmaster Grimm waved a finger. "This is for the sake of your grades, Ms. Queen. So, if you want to keep your grades steady and not be suspended, I suggest you embrace the role you were born to play."
Before Raven could argue, Apple grabbed her roommate's arm. "Come on, Raven! Let's go meet with the rest of the cast!" She eagerly dashed off as she pulled Raven out of the office.
The headmaster turned his attention to Justine. "I'm counting on you, Ms. Dancer. This play must go well to properly inspire Raven to embrace her evil destiny. The fate of our stories rests on your shoulders." He grinned. "Just don't blow it or it's 'The End' for your grade point average. And I know Professor Rumpelstiltskin is always looking for students who need hextra credit."
Justine gulped. All the students knew doing hextra credit for Professor Rumpelstiltskin meant being locked in a room and toil away spinning straw into gold.
"And...here we are." Raven finished. She was in the Charmitorium break room with the rest of the 'cast'; Greenly Pea, Raoul Sapphire, Prudence and Charlotte, Amber Spite, and Geoff Gingerbreadman.
"So, this play is just a scheme to get you inspired to be the next Evil Queen?" Greenly questioned. "That's messed up."
"Yeah, and worst of all, he decided to rope us into it just to punish us!" Prudence shouted in anger.
"Really? What are you guys in for?" asked Raven.
Greenly just shrugged. "I'm only here because I accidentally spilled my chocolate milk on Duchess."
"And I accidentally gave Sparrow Hood a wedgie." said Raoul.
"We shouldn't even be here anyway!" Prudence protested. "We were just following our destinies. Charlotte and I were going to prank Ashlynn by dropping a net full of smelly gym socks all over her!"
The stepsisters cackled with glee. "She'll never look at shoes the same way again!" said Charlotte. Their laughter dissipated as they frowned. "But Headmaster Grimm got caught in our prank by mistake."
Raven turned to Amber and Geoff. "Okay, what about you guys?"
"For your info, we shouldn't be here either!" Amber retorted. "It's Gus and Helga Crumb who should be here!"
"Yeah! If Amber didn't swoop in and save me, I would have been eaten alive by those sugar fueled freaks!" Geoff implied.
"Eaten alive?!" Raven exclaimed.
"Yeah, I wanted to slow them down. So, I cast a spell to turn them into turtles." Amber said.
Greenly smiled. "Nice."
But Amber wasn't smiling. "Don't get hexcited. My magic wasn't strong enough. Gus became a whole turtle, but Helga wound up with just a turtle shell. She still had her arms and legs. And just when she grabbed Geoff and was about to take a big bite...WHAM! Geoff karate chopped her in the throat and kicked her in the jaw!"
Everyone gasped.
Greenly burst out laughing. "Okay! Now THAT is awesome!"
Geoff smiled like he won a gold medal. "These legs can do more than just run!" He hopped out of his chair and skillfully performed a few karate moves. "You don't want a piece of this cookie!"
"But when Headmaster Grimm showed up, Gus and Helga turned on the waterworks and said we were bullying them and he believed them!" Amber's eyes flashed with anger. "Next time I see those losers, I'm going to turn them into slugs!"
"And I'll knock out all the teeth in their heads so they'll never eat another sweet again!" Geoff said in anger.
Greenly rolled her eyes. "Headmaster Grimm only took Gus and Helga's side because they're his flunkies. They're total suck-ups."
"And they'll do anything for candy." Raoul added.
"So, now we have to survive this dumb play as punishment." Amber said. "We just have to suck it up and deal with it. That's all we can do."
"So, Raven, where is Applesauce-For-Brains, anyway?" Greenly asked Raven.
"If you're referring to Apple, she went to find the perfect outfit to wear for the play." Raven replied.
The door opened and in walked Justine, along with Ian Crywolf.
"Ian?! What are you doing here?" asked Geoff. "Are you being punished too?"
To everyone's confusion, Ian smiled. "Nope, I'm here to help with the play. You're looking at Justine's new co-director!"
"WHAT?!" the cast shouted.
"What the hex, Ian?!" said Amber. "You'd NEVER volunteer for something this stupid!"
"Unless...there's something in it for you. Isn't there?" Greenly deduced.
Ian chuckled and raised his hands up. "Alright, officer. You got me. I'll go quietly."
Raven crossed her arms with a cold look. "Alright, Ian. What's your side of the story?" Like many students, she didn't trust Ian as far as she could throw him with a levitation spell.
"Well, all I want from this is to put on the best play this school has ever seen!" said Ian. "We're going to blow their minds big time!"
"And thanks to Ian, we've figured out how to make this play fun even for you guys!" Justine said. "Huddle up!"
The cast and directors huddled in and Justine whispered the plan. The students' faces went from stun to sheer excitement.
Raven burst out with laughter. "Oh, man! That is so wicked!"
Raoul rubbed his hands together. "This is gonna be good!"
Greenly laughed. "I love it! That's perfect!"
Prudence and Charlotte cheered and high-fived each other. Amber laughed so hard, tears were budding from her eyes.
Geoff was so happy, he did cartwheels all over the room. "Then let's get this show on the road!"
