Chapter 7: Hades
Spider-Man: (Surprised) Hades?!
Spider-Man was surprised to see the iconic villain so early. Hades wasn't to find out till after Hercules' training was completed. Everyone gathered around Spider-Man
Hades: Oh, so you heard of me. Well, it saves me the trouble of an explanation. (Eyeing Hercules) Strange. Haven't I seen you somewhere before.
Hercules: No.
Hades: Oh, well. (Summoning Shadows and his lackeys, Pain & Panic) Now let's make this easy: (Pointing to Sora) Give me the boy and the rest of you can leave.
Wanda: (Going full mother bear while holding Sora) You want Sora?!
Sora, terrified of the Greek Lord of the Dead, clung to Scarlet Witch.
Sora: (Whimpering) Please, don't let him take me.
Spider-Man: (Tying his injured hand up) We won't let that happen, Sport. (Summoning Wayward Wind) Listen Deadskin, why don't you run back to the Underworld. I think I hear Persephone scolding you to vacuum the living room.
Scarlet Witch laughed at the joke and so did Pain & Panic.
Hades: (Zapping his lackeys) Oh, joy. A comedian. Look, just give me the brat and I'll you all good and forget that little joke about my wife.
Power Man: (Cracking knuckles) Not a chance, Dental Disaster.
Zack: (Holding Longsword) You want Sora, you have to go through us.
Hades: (Sighing) Hard way it is, then. (Commanding his Titan and the Heartless) Destroy them and bring me the boy.
Spider-Man: (Getting ready) Herc, take Zack and Power Man to help you deal with Hades. I got Big Ugly. Scarlet, get Sora to safety.
Scarlet Witch ran off as everyone charged at the villains, only to find a new barrier blocking the door. Shadows charged at her but she started her slicing her way through with Kitetsu III. Climbing onto the stands, Scarlet Witch set Sora down.
Scarlet Witch: Stay here, okay sweetheart?
Sora nodded as Scarlet jumped down to help fight. Pain and Panic took the opportunity to try and nab him. Sora noticed them coming and fired a slingshot pellet.
Sora: (Quickly putting his gear on) You two think you could mess with Kid Slingshot!
Panic: This will be easy.
Scarlet Witch was dealing with the Shadows when she saw Hades' lackeys trying to kidnap Sora.
Scarlet Witch: Sora!
Spider-Man: (Swinging around the Rock Titan while hurting with his Keyblade) Just hang on… (Seeing Sora) Sport?
Sora was fighting the duo well.
Kid Slingshot: (Shotting another pellet) Eating this!
Sora nail Pain square in the forehead, making him stumble back.
Pain: That'll leave a mark.
Spider-Man went back to swinging around hurting the Rock Titan but every time he cut him, he just healed his injuries. Hercules and his teammates were dodging fireballs Hades and attacked when they could.
Spider-Man: (Landing by Power Man and whispered to him) Psst, Luke. You saw the Hercules movie, right?
Power Man: (Whisper) Who hasn't?
Spider-Man: (Whisper) I think Hades should learn he's a bit behind on birthday presents for his baby nephew.
Picking up what his friend was saying, Power Man had an idea. After Spider-Man swung back to the Rock Titan, Power Man took a fireball that was meant for Hercules.
Power Man: (Making sure Hades heard) You okay, Hercules?
Hercules: (As Power Man looked at a stunned Hades) Yeah, I'm fine.
In the first time in his immortal existence, Hades lost his confidence. Pain and Panic heard the name, too.
Hades: Time out! What's your name, Skinny? BTW, I'm serious about the skinny remark. Join a gym.
Hercules: Hercules?
Panic: (Thinking) Hercules? Why does that name ring a bell?
Pain: (Clueless) I don't know. Maybe we owe him money?
Hades' mind wondered back to the Fates' prophecy on how he could rule the cosmos and Zeus' child, named Hercules, could stop him. He then remembered how his lackeys told him they killed him.
Pain: Wait a minute. Wasn't Hercules the name of that kid we were supposed to…
Hades angrily reached for his lackeys as they tried to run away.
Hades: (Pulling them back) So you took care of him, huh? Dead as a door nail. Weren't those your exact words?!
Pain and Panic tried to weasel out of Hades' fury but he saw through their lies.
Hades: (Burning mad) Lucky for you two we got enough time and an early chance. Rocky, get the boy!
The Rock Titan stomped towards Sora, much to Scarlet Witch's horror and fury. Channeling her powers into Kitetsu III, Scarlet Witch unleashed a huge energy causing a large section of the Rock Titan to break off and knocking it unconscious. In the chest was the Crack in Reality pulsing red. As Spider-Man swung by, he inadvertently slashed the Wayward Wind across the Crack and caused it to seal up.
Spider-Man: Guess that solved that problem. Now to deal with Hades.
Spider-Man watch as the Rock Titan started healing itself and had an idea.
Spider-Man: Power Man… (Pointing to the Rock Titan) Typhon him!
Power Man nodded and rushed at Hades. Throwing punch after punch with Hercules, Hades was forced in front of the Rock Titan. Zack skidded by Hades and got ready to cut his leg. Throwing her powers at Hades, Scarlet Witch caused Zack's sword to actually hurt him. Hades was forced to his knees as his extremely angry nephew grabbed his head, having figured out what happened years ago.
Hades: (Nervous chuckle) Uh, no hard feelings, nephew?
Hercules picked up Spider-Man had in mind.
Hercules: Yeah, we're family after all… Which means this is gonna hurt me a lot more than it'll hurt you!
Grabbing Hades and spinning fast, Hercules threw Hades right into the Rock Titan. Hades attempted to break free but it was healing too quickly. Soon, Hades was completely trapped.
Spider-Man: Scarlet Witch, you want to do the honor?
Scarlet Witch: Gladly.
Flaring up her powers as strong as possible, Scarlet Witch lifted the Rock Titan and sent it flying far.
Pain: Boss! Don't we'll get the…
Panic stopped his colleague and pointed to Scarlet Witch staring angrily at them for trying to kidnap her child.
Pain: If we run, you promise not to hurt us.
Scarlet Witch: Just run.
The duo ran off but not before Kid Slingshot nailed them.
Panic: (Distance) Okay, that was actually impressive shot.
Kid Slingshot: (Laughing while jumping into Scarlet Witch's arm) Did you see me, Ms. Scarlet?!
Scarlet Witch: (Feeling like a proud parent) I did, honey.
Hercules: (Patting Spider-Man) That was great thinking, Spidey. My dad would be proud of that.
Spider-Man: He'd be proud you followed in his footsteps.
Zack: Yeah. Too bad our match got ruined.
Philoctetes: (Bringing a trophy out) Yeah but I think the four of you deserve to share it for courage, teamwork, and loyalty to each other.
Spider-Man, Power Man, Hercules, and Zack lifted the trophy above them proudly. Later, Power Man got his bag of stuff he acquired while in the world, having decided to accompany his old friend than wait for another chance to leave.
Hercules: (Offering a handshake) Nice meeting you, Spider-Man.
Spider-Man shook Hercules' hand.
Spider-Man: Next time we meet, you better be physically stronger. Cause Round Two, I won't go easy.
Spider-Man and company left Thebes. Philoctetes watched as Zack started walking away.
Philoctetes: Where do you think you're going?
Zack: I'm not gonna ask, Phil. The student/teacher ratio…
Philoctetes: Stands… But if I'm going to whip Herc into shape, he'll need a sparring partner.
Zack smiled at the opportunity. As Spider-Man and company were miles away from the city, Power Man asked the important question.
Power Man: Guys, how are we leaving?
As if on cue, the Phantom arrived to pick everyone up. Meanwhile, the Rock Titan was turned into a new mountain that Hades was trying to punch his way out, which will take years.
Panic: Oh, he's gonna be so mad when he gets free.
Pain: You mean IF he gets free.
Panic: If? If is good.
