it's a nice sunny day in the east blue. The sun is out. The seagulls are singing. Everything is at peace.

outside the island of dawn island, a news ship is seen sailing to said island.

'careful everyone, vice admiral Garp is offering us a big story for recording his grandson's journey on live'. Said the news boss.

'um sir, do we even know if vice admiral Garp really has any grandkids?'. Asked a camera man.

'it's worth seeing to believe it'. Said the news boss.

just like that, the news ship has docked at port. The news team step off board and start asking around.

'if your looking for Luffy, try Makino's bar, he's planning to say his goodbyes'. Said a civilian.

[Makino's bar]

'it was great knowing you cared for me Makino, thanks for always looking out for me'. Said Luffy.

'of course, i was happy to help'. Said Makino with a smile.

'hello, um sorry to interrupt, we're looking for monkey D Luffy'. Said the news boss.

'I'm monkey D Luffy, how can i help ya?'. Asked Luffy.

the news team seem confused by just looking at him. The news boss nodded to start the interview live.

'ok kid we're live, please state your name to the camera'. Said the news boss.

'ok, hi everyone in the world, I'm monkey D Luffy, the man who's going to be king of the pirates'. Said Luffy smiling happily.

just like that, half of the news team spits out their drinks out of shock.

just like that some of them had questions.

'young man, is it true what you say?, your aiming to be king of the pirates?'. Asked a news man.

'yep, sure am, sisisi'. Laughed Luffy happily.

'what drives you to want to be this?'. Asked a news woman.

'i made a promise to an old friend, that I'd form a strong pirate crew, head to the grand line, find one piece, and become king of the pirates'. Said Luffy smiling.

'and do you really believe, you have what it takes?'. Asked a news man.

'I'll see for myself if i can, and if i die fighting for my dreams, then so be it'. Said Luffy.

'don't say that Luffy, you have a good heart, you got this'. Said Makino.

'thanks Makino'. Said Luffy.

'your welcome, by the way, how'd ya know to find him on this island?'. Asked Makino.

'his grandfather told us to come here, and join him on his journey'. Said the news boss.

'oh, grandpa told ya of me?'. Asked Luffy.

'he sure did kid, but he never said anything of you being a pirate'. Said the news boss.

'sounds like him, but I'm going to be king of the pirates'. Said Luffy.

'well guess we'll be recording ya finding one piece, that is, if ya got what it takes'. Said the news boss.

'i will find it, just you wait'. Said Luffy.

'we have a big enough ship to take ya to wherever ya want to go, just say the word and we'll head there'. Said the news boss.

'ok, let's go now'. Said Luffy.

just like that, the news team along with Luffy setting sail to record Luffy's journey.

'so Luffy, how many crew members are ya planning to have before heading to the grand line?'. Asked the news man.

'I don't know, but I can't wait to find a strong enough crew to see the world with me'. Said Luffy excitedly smiling.

just like that, a giant sea king came out of the water roaring.

'AAHHH!!, sea king!'. Screamed the news woman in fear.

'I got this'. Said Luffy smiling.

just like that Luffy stretched out his left fist behind him.

'huh??'. Asked the news team in confusion.

[gum gum... pistol!] yelled Luffy as he sent his fist at the sea king.

just like that Luffy decked the sea king in the face, knocking it out hard.

as the sea king falls back into to the water, the news team were asking Luffy how he did it.

'i ate a devil fruit, the gum gum fruit is its name'. Said Luffy smiling happily.

'what does it do?'. Asked the news woman.

'it turns my body into rubber'. Said Luffy.

'hold on, you mean your whole body, is made of rubber?'. Asked the news man.

'sure is, see?'. Asked Luffy as he stretched out his cheeks.

'that's amazing, you can stretch out your body'. Said the news boss.

'yep, so any idea where to start first, i suck at navigation'. Said Luffy.

we'll see about navigating for you Luffy said the news boss.

'great, we're off to find me a crew, look out world, here I come!'. Said Luffy as he then sets down to relax.

the news team then turn off the cameras.

[somewhere in the grand line]

'hahaha, I can't believe it, Luffy, he got so strong, he knocked out the sea king that took my arm ten years ago'. Said Shanks.

'he sure has guts, to reveal his dreams like that'. Said Benn.

'men, let us celebrate Luffy finally setting sail'. Said Shanks.

[whole cake island]

'so Garp has a grandson?, not only that, but he aims to be king of the pirates?, now that's a laugh'. Said big mom.

'just say the word. We'll end him'. Said Katakuri.

'na, he's got no chance. Let him die his own way'. Said big mom.

[Wano]

'to think Garp has a family. I wonder how powerful the brat is?'. Asked Kaido.

'worry not captain, we can handle him for you when he comes for you'. Said King.

'thank you, my loyal comrade'. Said Kaido with an evil grin.

[marineford]

'if he ever, attacks a marine base Garp, I'll have a bounty on his head, ya got that?!'. Yelled Sengoku.

'Luffy would only do it in self defense, no need to worry'. Said Garp.

'the whole world heard him calling himself the next pirate king!!'. Roared Sengoku in raged.

'don't worry, he's got a good heart, he'll never go through with attacking a base for an evil cause'. Said Garp.
